August 23rd, 2016. We have a great show for you today. We're going through some more of the preseason action, what we saw in film, some insight for you as you enter your draft, guys, depth chart battles, things like that, guys that we saw stand out, guys that have to prove themselves. We have a very good show. We got all the news and notes.
that you could need a good quick question we are going to be having a lot of good episodes this week as well breakouts bus sleepers that type of thing i have a quick question for you guys right off the bat like we always do this one from twitter at maxwell morley what is the lowest adp tight end that you would be comfortable with what is the lowest draft position for a tight end so what tight end at the lowest adp would you be comfortable with as your starting tight end
We'll do this based on the ADP at Fantasy Football Calculator.com. I looked at the list myself. The answer was like, to be honest, the answer was like the 18th tight-in. Zach Miller? Yeah. For me, I would go undrafted. I mean, I would be. Well, that's what that is. Don't steal my guy. Well, I'm going to steal your guy because I'm sure it's Will Ty. Oh, is it Vanne McDonald? Oh, all right.
Vince McDonald as well. Will Ty, I think they're fine. If I finish a draft and I've got a great team full of depth that running back and wide receiver and I'm going in with Will Ty, who will talk about from this last week's preseason game, I would be happy with. You would be, that seems like a leap to say you'd be happy with Walt Ty. I think I would be okay to stream the position. And I think I can succeed there. My point being that should I be in a draft?
in the later rounds and say, you know, a guy that, you know, that I really like, Dwayne Allen, right? Maybe I'm targeting Dwayne Allen, and I feel like there's still a good running back or wide receiver, a guy that really helps me. Maybe I have Latavius Murray. And so I want to get D'Andre Washington on my roster, but man, I might miss out on Dwayne Allen. I would rather have D'Andre Washington and handcuffed my guy or get the player in that spot if it means
I'm going to end up rolling with will tie. And the question was, what's the lowest? I think will tie is the absolute lowest quality guy that if you go into your season with, you can be fine. Does that make sense? It makes sense, except for the will tie part. I thought, I mean, I think it's hard to, I would not feel comfortable with will tie as my.
tied in for the entire year because i don't know how that's shaking out yet it's not the question isn't the entire year i thought it was leaving your draft yeah that's how i said lowest tight in you'd be comfortable with so right for me i'm thinking about like starting the guy yeah but i'm saying starting week one okay i don't feel comfortable starting will tie week one so that's the question so as of right now the guys who are undrafted so i can't even tell you where they're being drafted advanced macdonald and virgil green is quickly rising up my
my rankings as the targets continue to come all right a couple of announcements we have a live stream for everybody over at join the foot dot com taking place tomorrow tomorrow so if you want to get involved with that head over to join the foot com we have that a live stream once a month you guys can just chat with us ask any questions about your team or life or whatever it's just kind of we actually get to ask follow-up questions to the questions because it's a live chat
You guys have asked for the Wheel of Water app to be on Android, and it's going to be on Android, like, in the next week. For real. And so if you don't know what the Wheel of Water app is, you can go check it out on iTunes. It'll be on Android here in the next couple days. Hey, Android, people, go check it out on iTunes. Yeah, I guess that was ridiculous. You can check it out on Android in a couple days. It's already on iTunes. It's a free app. It's just a fun way to make bets with your friends. And I have a little...
I have a question for Jason. Now, Jason, are you the champion of our league of record? Yes, sir. So let me ask you this. I don't like where this is going. Let me ask you this, Jason. Now, how long has this league been going? The league has been going for many years. I would say nine fingers is what Mike has shown me. I think we're going into season nine or ten. We're going into ten.
So we have nine seasons. You won the championship in our ninth season. One of the things that's kind of a pinnacle of our league is... I think I know where the... Is I guess it's the trophy, right? Like, I mean, where's the trophy? We haven't seen the trophy lately. Where is it? I took the trophy with me to Disneyland, and I filmed the awesome trophy everywhere all across the land. I had Darth Vader holding it and took it with everybody.
I've got the trophy right here. Yes. I, if you're not on YouTube, yeah, Mike's seeing this for the first time. I'm going to describe what I have. I just pulled it out from below the desk. Jason doesn't know I knew about this. I'm pulling out a broken trophy. There is nobody on, this is a block of wood now. My co-owner has betrayed you. Betrayed me. He's gone. Look at this trophy, Mike. What kind of a champion are you? It's a block of wood because the guy on top of the trophy is missing.
Not only did he not have it. Where is he? He's destroyed. He's destroyed. He cracked and came into shambles through all of our adventuring. But he'll be back. Clearly, you have treasured your championship. Very little. I take that trophy with me everywhere. You know, when you put your trophy in the pants, there's not a lot of room. All right. All right. So I thought I'd, I am thoroughly disgusted.
Yeah, I know. We've got a block of wood for a trophy now because Jason has destroyed it. Well, we'll go to Fantasy Jocks and put some training on top of it. You know what? Can't replace our traditions with money, Jason. All right. No, but he can probably get us a sweet new trophy. All right. Jumping into the news. News and notes from around the league. We'll see if we let him win another title. Yeah, that's for sure. You should be just embarrassed.
And ashamed of yourself. I have hidden this for a long time. Oh, I know. That's the part that is. Well, I'm going to get it fixed, and you guys would never have known. And so Michael Butler, my co-owner, I'm going to have to give some serious consideration as to whether or not he continues to be my co-owner. So you're saying, you're saying that the co-owner broke it or let Andy know that it was broken. I broke it. I may have retrieved it from his trunk yesterday. When did it break? Oh, it's been many months ago. Months ago he has not told us.
So this, oh, I'm going to get it fixed. Yeah. Before the draft. That was the play. The reason Butler had it is to fix it right now. Oh, yeah. All right. Yeah. Fix nothing. Moving on. Levy on Bell. We somehow omitted, omitted his suspension change from the news yesterday because we wanted to feature it today. Yeah. Three-game suspension instead of a four-game suspension. I've made the adjustments in my rankings. Uh...
What do you think about this? Does this just make that decision so much harder? Does he belong in the back of the first round? For me, it actually changes nothing. If I was willing to take him at the back of the first, I'm not changing that to say, oh, I'll take him in the middle now. It's I'm willing to look at him in the back of the first or the beginning of the second. Going from four to three to me does not change that draft value. It really changes nothing for me. That seems interesting to me.
Based on the fact he is now playing in one more game. Yeah.
I think I can kind of understand what Mike is saying in the sense that what I had done over the weeks prior is I kept bumping Levion Bell up while the four-game suspension kept standing. I kept looking at my rankings and going, okay, I would take him over this guy. I would take him over marking him. I would take him over these guys. I kept moving him up and up. And I got to the point where I couldn't move him up anymore. And I don't think that single game actually changes where he was in my rankings. I still would rather have...
those games from the guys that I have ranked above him. So it doesn't actually change my rankings much, even though it does change my year-long projection. Does it change anything about your view of Des Bryant to find out he has a concussion with just a couple of weeks left before the season? It's very unfortunate, but at this point, I'm not worried about anything.
All right, the 49ers head coach Chip Kelly has said that Sean Drone, the big salad himself is the team's number two running back. We have heard reports that he had looked pretty good in camp. It looked like Mike Davis might give him a run for his money in the preseason. Mike Davis fumbled that opportunity away quite literally. And now Sean Jones is the number two. Probably the third down guy there. Does he have some sneaky value? Yeah, the big salad is a great pass catching back with.
Blaine Gabbert as a guy that checks down to the Big Salad a lot. He could, if he is used in that role in the third down, and we don't know yet with Chip Kelly whether that's going to be a very common thing or whether Carlos Hyde will be in on more third downs, but he does have sneaky value. I'm not sure in a normal sized league if I would take him late. I think there's guys that I usually like at the end of drafts better, but if I'm in a deep league.
