To all of you out there that won a title in 2017, in a way. I mean, congrats that you won a title, but not that your league has week 17 championships. But sometimes you don't control that. Win's a win. I've seen a lot of people this week saying something along the lines of, I was always against the argument about week 17 championships being bad, but I had never been in one.

And now I made it to the championship and I see what a, you know, a nonsense. Look, if Richard Higgins wasn't who you were banking on at the beginning of the year, you know, I don't know who you would have had. It's very true. I guess you could have had, what, Albert Wilson. There you go. Adam Humphreys, pronounced with him. Omphreys. The bird alert, too. I mean, he was, he looked pretty good. I didn't realize till just this moment that Derek Henry had 28 carries.

Oh, yes. For that 51 sweet. Oh, man. It was. That's about what I expected. Yeah. If he didn't have that monster 66 yard touchdown through the air, I mean, people are real, real mad at Derek Henry right now. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, we also have the footy nominations on the show today. Just too tired. I think I'm going to go to bed. I was like, good for you. Yes, that's the right answer. My nine-year-old, when you left our house at around 9 o'clock, he passed out on the bed. There is a lot of news. Obviously, coaching changes happening.

It makes me excited to talk through, you know, all the new hires and the implications on the offenses heading into next year. But let's start with these playoff matchups real quick, run through them a couple Saturday games. This is wildcard weekend is next two weeks. Yes, wildcard and divisional weekend. Divisional weekend is the best weekend of football in the whole season. Yes, I agree. All right, Saturday, the Titans take on the Chiefs. Who do you got?

Chiefs. Oh, Chiefs for sure. Yeah, I've got the Chiefs as well. Falcons take on the Rams. I'm taking the Falcons. Are you? Yep. Playoff experience coming into play in Los Angeles? I have counted everything against the Rams all year long. I will never jump on the bandwagon. That's how I felt. I'm taking the Rams. I'm taking the Rams as well at home. I hitched my wagon. All right. Sunday's games, Bill's, Jags in Jacksonville. Who you got?

I'm going to take Jacksonville. I will as well. Make it a clean sweep. And then Sunday the Panthers head to New Orleans and take on the Saints. Oh, we know how you two are going to vote. Yes. You're darn right. On this one, man. Oh, Andy's grimacing. He's not sure. It's going to be a close game. Yeah. It doesn't matter if it's close because it's a W for the Saints. Super Bowl bound.

There you go. And then the buys Eagles. No, Jason, weigh in. No, I, I without a doubt, would take the Saints in this game. All right, guys, LaShawn McCoy. Yeah, they left the game with a sprained ankle. They had to x-ray it. And he has a chance to play in the wildcard game. What happened, Wolverine? Normally he goes down, but then he comes in the next play. I was still waiting.

They didn't rule him out for a while. He was still questionable to return. Because you could never rule him out. And I was just waiting. I expected him back on the field. With so much going on, I'm going to just try to focus on some things that we'll pay attention to heading into the off season. Kyle Rudolph was in a walking boot after week 17. I don't think it's anything major. Somaget P. Ryan left the game during the first quarter. Is there anything else? I mean, Markey's good one. He got laid out. Ended the year on a bad note with an injury to the head.

um what did he had he caught any passes before that yeah i believe he did he didn't hit a thousand though did he let me let me verify that i know he was very close to his first thousand yards season but i didn't look into the uh whether he hit it or not yeah pulling it up he had yeah two for 28 he did have a touchdown yeah so but he was he fell short 962 yards all right coaching changes that just took place so these are the big ones for fantasy owners

Bruce Ariens has retired from the NFL. As expected. Arizona Cardinals head coach. I don't know if you know this, but if you look back at Virginia Tech rushing touchdown records, have you seen this, Jason? No. This would be great to. So the rushing touchdown records for Virginia Tech football. For quarterbacks. For quarterbacks. Oh, okay. Number four on the list is Tyra Taylor. Number three, Michael Vic. Number two.

Michael Vick. So two of Michael Vick's seasons. Right. Number one is Bruce Ariens. In 1974, Bruce Ariens had 11 rushing touchdowns for Virginia Tech. Yep. So that's hysterical. Isn't that great? Bruce. I just want a current photo. Vic, Vic, Tyrod. Current photos of these four guys. Right, right. You know, right next to each other. We got to put that together. But the Cardinals, you know, he's the winningest coach in Cardinals history.

and offensive minds. So we'll see who they end up. They've asked for seven different candidates to come in and interview. And now to the firings. Chuck Pagano. Yep. John Fox. Jack Del Rio. This one's far more surprising was just extended. I understand it that you have such high expectations.

your team has fallen apart. Jack Del Rio really never fixed the defense and they're ready to make a change. They don't fire Jack Del Rio if they don't have their replacement in queue with Gruden. That's what this firing was about. Yes. And look, Jack Del Rio, if you want to maximize your earning potential, the key is to get extended.

and then get fired the next year. Oh, yes. So you can double dip. Yeah, just ask college coaches. That's crucial. But John Gruden, next head coach of the Raiders, he's been building a staff for a while. Schefter reported that. So we don't have like an official team, you know, press conference. But John Gruden back in coaching. We'll see. I think he's back, but we'll see if he can actually fix things. Lions. Well, at least you start with a foundational piece in a, you know, presumed franchise quarterback. Presumed. Yeah.

Well, I mean, he wasn't an MVP candidate. Anybody that can have a season that makes you an MVP candidate is a better foundation to start a team with than a lot of these coaches get. Right. Go to the Cardinals and say. Yeah, I mean, it's a much better job. Fair point. Drew Stanton? Jim Caldwell. Goodbye. Yeah. Bill O'Brien's going to stay as the head coach of the Texans. He was rumored to have left. I thought it was strange that there was the rumors of him being kicked out. Yeah, it didn't. It wasn't.

You know, he lost to Sean Watson. He had tons of injuries. He's a good coach, in my opinion. Now, the caveat there is that there's been disagreement between the GM and Bill O'Brien. So that was the concern and why he might have left. Were you going to say something, Jay? No, I was going to echo your sentiment that he is a good, I mean, I think they were a legitimate Super Bowl contending team when they had Watson and they had, you know, some of their cornerbacks still healthy. They lost a lot of their important pieces and I don't think you could fire.

O'Brien. Vance Joseph is staying around as well. He was rumored to possibly leave Denver. But they cleaned house on assistant coaches. And then Ted Thompson. That was really surprising. Never learned how to clap. Yep. Claps like a seal. And no longer the GM of the Packers. It's definitely interesting. And Dom Capers is gone now too, which.
