We're going to answer some more listener questions. Bonus. Bonus. I'm just going to keep saying it. Throughout the whole show. Yeah. Yeah. If we keep doing these Saturday shows all the time. No. That's why I'm trying to emphasize. Yeah. This is a bonus episode that happens to have happened in back-to-back weeks. Yep.

There you go. Not a pattern at all. Next week, Saturday, people are going to wake up and go, where am I? Oh, wait, that's why. Is there a show? Hey, so sweaty. What's your quick question, Andy? Quick question for the day. How do you guys approach drafting a defense? Yeah. So, yeah. That's a good thing to talk about. There's actually been a lot of questions that I'm having to filter people asking about drafting a defense. I don't.

really care that much when I'm drafting my defense because I stream them throughout the entire year. What I will look for is what I see as the best week one matchup. That's how I draft them too. Me too. We got already. And in whatever best matchup is left, that's what I'll go with. So because it's draft season then, if the question is being asked right now, the question isn't, you know, who do we get week whatever? We know the week one schedule.

who are you looking to draft? I don't know the week. Right, and maybe that's a little too hard to put us on the spot. Way to set us up there, Jason. Well, then I've got the answer while you two do research. So these two guys, the problem is they're both good D's, and so they're going to be drafted a little bit earlier, but I think they're worth, and by a little bit earlier, I mean...

the second to last round when people start doing it. These will be near the top. But the Jets and the Panthers are two teams that I really like this year. You know, when we try to stream quarterbacks, we try to get one that we could play the whole year. So grabbing a good D is not a bad thing. And those two Ds play great week one matchups. I forget who it is. I think it's the Browns. Jets and the Browns.

Jets are at home. Who was your other team? The Panthers? That's my favorite. I think it's the Jaguars. Panthers we know are a good defense. I'll tell you, they're going to go early, but the third team all out of that is the Bengals because they play the Raiders. Yeah, those three, yeah, love it. The only thing I'll add to the equation is kind of a general understanding of how the defenses work year to year. Defense is one of the least consistent positions to predict because...

Everybody looks at this strength of schedule before this season begins and they, oh, this guy plays that team. That changes so much. I mean, it's very, very rare when a defense repeats. I don't even know if it's happened in the last 10 years. And if it has, it's been, you know, Seattle's in the top five for like two years in a row. But otherwise, these defenses, they fluctuate all over the place. You've got teams that get more interceptions and turnovers like the Bears who aren't that great of a defense, but they have a great year. I mean, I'm just telling you from a streaming strategy perspective.

You look for the good week one matchup, but honestly, you're going to learn that about the first four or five weeks of the year. And then snatch them off the way over where. You saw it with Seattle, where everyone took them very early for defenses last year. Bobby Wagner went out. They were not very good. No. Especially for fantasy. He came back. They were great again. But that's what I mean where one player on a defense can change the entire thing. Yeah, absolutely.

the guy who runs my league, that my half-point PPR, 14-team league, is going to be having three flex positions. So we're going to have a quarterback, running back, tight-end, wide receiver, and then three flexes that can be either a wide receiver, a running back, or a tight-end. I'm just wondering how I should be approaching this. Should I be trying to get all wide receivers or all one position?

in those flex spots or should I just kind of move forward as if it were two wide receivers, two running backs, and a tight end? Thanks. Love the show. Thanks for the question. That's an interesting league format. Yeah, it is, it's kind of a manly in the sense that you've got a 14 team adding positions. You've got a lot of depth there. One of the things that...

is going to change here is normally we talk about this position scarcity and you know how much the difference in a running back between the first guy that's starting and the last guy that's starting is a huge gap so running backs are more important in this league you've essentially only got 14 that have to start in both positions so what you're going to look to after you've locked up your first guy lock up a stud running back is you're going to look at

total numbers, total value. It's not going to be a matter of should I get a running back or a wide receiver. You're always going to be picking whoever the best, most highest producing player is. I mean, it's that simple. It's already thinner as a 14 team league, and then you're basically tacking on two flex spots. Is that right? No, it's the same amount of players, right? Because it's three flex. You only have to play one running back, one wide receiver. Oh, okay, okay, okay. And it's like,

It's just, it's the same as 2-2 flex. Yeah, yeah, I didn't catch the limited roster. So I agree with Jason. It doesn't change much, though. Well, it doesn't change much, but running backs aren't as hard to find. You don't have to rely on, you have to play two. So I'm going to grab a stud, and then I'll still try and get another stud running back, but it doesn't, it's not as important. Hey, guys, this is Bo from Austin, Texas here. I have a question about draft strategy.

I'm in a 12-team standard-scoring redraft league, and I have the 10th pick. I always like to take a running back in the first round, especially this year. It seems pretty thin at that position. But the rest of my league seems to have similar rationale. They always draft running backs early. So with the 10th pick, if people like Foster and Murray are gone at the running back position, and I'm looking at Jeremy Hill, Alfred Morris, C.J. Anderson, stuff, people like that.

Should I take one of those running backs and then a wide receiver early in the second round, or should I double down on quality wide receivers, someone like Julio Jones and Calvin Johnson are a combination similar to that. Yeah, that's it, guys. Thanks for the help. What do you say? If Jeremy Hill is there, then I don't mind that at all. I'd prefer not to take him in the first just because of ADP thinking he's going to come back. But knowing your league is a very important thing, knowing your owners, if you feel like he won't make it back,

because the league is so running back heavy, then I will take him, and then I'll probably take a stud-wide receiver. If they are all gone to Hill, like that tier of running back. You'd toss Hill in with the other guys he mentioned in Foster. Yes, yeah, because I have Hill extremely high. That's what I figured. But if they're all gone, I don't mind you taking the two best possible wide receivers there and then loading up on running backs at the...
