This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Every football fan is different. Some won't wash their lucky mustard-stained jersey until the season's over. Some insist they can't sit down on third downs and some pick their favorite team because, I don't know, just like football fandom, nobody's life is exactly the same. And that's why State Farm gets to know you, not as a policy number, but as an actual person.

Now, let us say, let us say, or I will say for myself. Sunday's game happened. It was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Norland Saints. It was supposed to be a just a battle of two juggernaut teams. Yeah, division. Treating blows, just punching each other in the face. And we got a giant versus a little baby lamb team. Right. It did not work out. It was super boring.
Last night was a pretty good game, man. That was supposed to be trash, and it was awesome. It was very fun. You had a little bit of everything. Damien Harris before he unfortunately left with an injury. He looked good. Sexy, rexie goathead was making really unnecessary jukes all the time. This was like me playing mad and I hit the button too many times. Then Joe Flacco going deep. Rashad Perryman, that was a fun game.
A very fun game to watch. A good palate cleanser for what the bucks left in there. Yeah. I mean, if you would just like flip the jerseys, right? From Sunday night to Monday night, you would have got what you expected. Yeah. Down to the wire last night. And that would have been much better for fantasy as well. I don't know how many people were, you know, say starting Jacobi Myers. This should have. Yeah. I mean, he was, he did his best Richie James impression.
on Monday night, just an explosion. And he's somebody moving forward that seems to be a go-to receiver for Cam. He does. And Booty Scootin was back in action, not so much scooting all over the field, but the two rushing touchdowns, his weird laser beam throw there. He had one at the end where I think that thing, it moved completely horizontal. There was no vertical adjustment in this ball. The camera couldn't even track it. It was.
Why does it look so... I don't know. For him to throw the football. I don't know. It looks like he is in a tremendous pain when he throws. I feel like he's doing... Ouch! I feel like when he drops back to pass and then he follows through with the pass, it's like how I would throw a javelin. It has like two jump steps with it. I'm like, he ya! But he got it done, man. I mean, he was, for the most part, very accurate.
He was throwing short a lot. I mean, no Stefan Gilmore made a big difference last night. Yeah. I don't know if, you know, he got it done. They managed the clock. They won the game. They probably shouldn't hold the parade for defeating the Jets on Monday night football by a last second field goal. No. It's probably more of an indictment on, you know, where the Patriots really are right now. Well, let's, for the Patriots, I'll say this. I mean, they're in trouble still at three and five. But they came back and they won.
If you remember two weeks ago when they were playing Buffalo, Cam Newton did fumble on a drive where I think they made it to the red zone. And they were. Oh, they were way in the field goal range. They were going to win the game. But unfortunately, Camp fumble. So they are just a couple plays away from four and four and four. And a couple plays away from two and six. All right. We have a busy show today. Waivers to talk about getting towards your fantasy playoffs. Speaking of which, there's a fantasy playoff.

Anything else from last night's game? Fantasy-wise takeaways. Dinsel Mims led the team in targets. Prashad Perryman, a couple of touchdowns. Both of these players were not on the field in the beginning part of the year for the Jets. I know that we, you know, they're a punching bag of sorts, and we haven't had a lot of options there, but Perryman brought in to do exactly what he did last night, be a deep threat, had two touchdowns. Mims seems to be more and more integrated into the offense.
Flacco seemed to be more willing to throw the ball deep than we've seen from Darnold. So that's something to monitor, depending on Darnold's health, assuming he comes back. I don't know if that takes away from Perman. I think it would. Yeah, it's chicken or egg, though, right? I mean, Darnold's been so prone to the short pass, but then you say, I would be too if I had James and Crowder and no outside receivers. That's fair. That's absolutely fair. All right, news time. News and notes from around the league.
All right, Brandon Ayyuk, Debo Samuel, good to go for week 10. Kendrick Bourne is back on the COVID list. Danz McDonald is on the COVID list. Debo Samuel is still dealing with his hamstring. Good to go from a COVID perspective. I apologize. Yeah, you're right. And then Big Ben has been put on the close contact list as well. We saw this with several players last week. Most of them were able to play.
the only ones that weren't, I think, were the Thursday night game where they had the short turnaround. Correct. Which was Brandon Ayuk and Jamal Williams. But Jamal Williams activated as well. Christian McCaffrey is being listed as day to day right now. Oh, please. Oh, please be day to day. And Kenyon Drake is as well. And I'm going to say right now, I don't think either player plays this weekend. But they're my starting running backs for the league of record, Andy. Both of them? Yeah.
Probably not. Okay. They were. They were. Well, you can always pivot to Kalin Belize, reverted to the practice squad on Monday. Really? That's that is that a good sign for Justin Jackson? Here's something that the NFL can do this year. We saw the same thing happen with Des Bryant. They've allowed a couple of transactional moves where when you have a new player, you can move them to the practice squad.
I believe two times and then activate them for game day where no one else can sign them off your practice squad. So this is just a methodology that will allow them to essentially carry 54 players. Yeah, but I wouldn't read too much into it for Jackson just yet. Yeah, although you would think if a player was courtier game plan, he might not be on the practice squad. So there is that functional attribute, but running backs of all players.
less important to the equation in terms of, uh, yeah, he was fine. Yeah, he was, he was, he was, he was the running back four on one of the most pathetic running back weeks I've ever seen fantasy scoring wise. I don't think I've ever. I can't remember another week where there were two great running backs. And then basically the third best running back on the week is just, did you get a touchdown? Yeah, you're good. I mean, Jared McKinnon was the top five back. Kailen Belage was the top five back. I think Wayne Galman was, yeah, was up there. Yeah. Which.
When I looked at Wayne Goldman, I was like, oh, you scored this week, which was enough. Yep. So pretty incredible. Jake Luton, Booty Scoot and Jake Luton, likely to start again in week 10 for Jacksonville, and it went okay. But this is the, they have a matchup with the Packers, so we'll see how that goes. Yeah, that was a much different matchup last week. I imagine they will, they will lose. That is my prediction. Whoa. And then unfortunately, Albert O.
Broncos tight end. Yeah, torn ACL in week nine against the Falcons. Disappointing. He's looked really good for a rookie in the times that Noah has missed. And even when he's been out there, he's shown flashes. So that's sad. All right. So we are going to get into the waivers. Now, before we do that, we've had some curiosity here at the studio. We've, you know, sometimes we get in here in the morning, you know, and it's darker out now. Yeah.
And I know, I know, Mike, you're not a morning person. You're not even an afternoon person. You're more of a, well, you're just not a person at all. Well, now you're revealing my secrets. No, but it's tougher to wake up. You guys are throwing the coffee back in the morning. And we made the joke. We're like, you should probably get some smelling salts. Because you see them on the sidelines in the NFL games. And we are athletes of our own, right? We are vocal athletes. So Al Borland has a.
It's acquired some smelling salts for us. And this is a pretty big waiver. This is a really important show. Pretty big waiver show. Get hyped. So you should probably go to YouTube.com slash the fantasy footballers. Now, what was the one review, Al, that you, when you purchased these, you said you saw some reviews. What was the... They said they couldn't really describe it, but the best they could do was it's like snorting a lightning bolt. Okay. Which I have not done. Okay. So... I doubt they had either.
You guys want to, you guys want to get it. Yeah, Alan Barlin, could you give us a. Oh, I snapped it. Oh, that's not a premature snap. Give us a three count, Owl. Holy. Ready. Three, two, one. Oh, golly. Oh, moly. Oh, moly. Oh, ride the lightning, baby. Let's go. It's waiver time. Put me in, coach.
Let me tell you all of the waivers that you need. Mike's eyes are watering. That was intense. I got to get back. My sinuses are clear. Oh. Oh, brother. Well, that's why those do, it's a different experience than I expected. Yeah.
Not exactly popery. It was weird because at first it's like there's nothing here. It didn't hit. And then it was like, oh, the inside of my skull's on fire. Okay. I get it. Yeah. Like a little man was doing jumping jacks in my nostrils. So none of us have ever done that before. No. And Mike, you mentioned that it must be pretty effective if it can bring people that are passed out back to life. Yes. And I agree.
Have you tried that, Al? I mean, you bought them. I have not, no. Give it a go sometime when you're tired. Feeling groggy. Are we prepared to inform the listenership on Mike's eyeballs are out of his head? I feel like Adam Gase. Oh, goodness. All right. Returning from the by, the Browns, the Bengals, the Rams, the Eagles, heading to buy Falcons, Cowboys, Chiefs.
And the Jets. Oh, it's a sad week. No Patrick Mahomes, Kelsey, Tyreek. All right. We're into the Waver Wire picks of the week at the wide receiver position. So who are your kind of headline guys heading into week nine? Who are you trying to pick up short-term, long-term? Who do you have your eye on? I mean, Curtis Samuel's the name that's going to come up due to the past several weeks. I mean, he's technically the wide receiver 25 on the season.
He's had a lot of involvement this past week, 9 for 105 and 1. And then with news that maybe McCaffrey misses another game, you might see some more of those carries in the backfield for Curtis Samuel. It's worked out. Yeah, I don't know if this is the order I would go in, but I'm looking at our list. And so I'll throw out the names that jump out to me. Jalen Rager, rookie wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles. He's back, and he is widely available and has a stretch run here of the Giants, the Browns.
