119 passagesever-difficult running back position for the waiver wire this week. You know, in that category of probably rostered but worth checking, remember Mike Davis? Please remember Mike Davis. He could be back to a full-time role. Yeah, he was picked up everywhere, played everywhere. But going into this last week, I know leagues where, you know.
Chris McCaffrey was active. They had to make a roster move, and Mike Davis went to waivers. So check your waivers, even if you think he's rostered. Because if he's out there, he's the guy to pick up. And then Zach Moss is another player that might be roster, probably rostered, depending on your platform, 53% in the SBN league, 73% in Yahoo Leagues. But as Arizona coming up and got into the end zone again this past week, had scored, I believe, twice the week before.
It wasn't a, you know, impressive stat line, but he did take 56% of the snaps compared to Singletary's 45%. So he has a touchdown shot for your roster. Yep. I don't think you're going to get what you want without a touchdown though with him. Agreed. All right, main waiver wire pickups for this week. You know, it's going to come down to, and I see this list that we've compiled and I see a missing name. So I'll bring him up as well.
But you're looking at situations that, you know, players are dealing with injury. And can you take advantage of a start here or there? One of them, to me, is Joshua Kelly. If Justin Jackson's not back on the field, Joshua Kelly is going to get a lot of snaps. And so you're going to have an opportunity there. He had 54% of snaps this past week.
You know, some people bring up Kalim Belage. He's back on the practice squad. They would call him back up. I'm sure if Justin Jackson wasn't available. If I had to pick between Belage and Kelly, though, I would still probably go Joshua Kelly. What's tough about making the decision between the two of them is it feels like the decision should be Joshua Kelly. But Kalin Belage off the street was the one who received far more opportunities. He had 15 carries and three targets.
compared to Joshua Kelly's nine carries and five targets. So are you really that sure? When Sunday shows up, if they say Jackson is out, Eckler is still out, you would go Joshua Kelly? I'll get Jason's thoughts too, but I have, I'm not excited about any of them. To be honest, because I think Josh, I mean, Justin Jackson tried to come back into this game. You're going to deal with limited practices all week for him, and then you're going to be thinking about all three of these players.
against Miami's defense, which is number one in terms of, like, giving up the fewest amount of points. And then last week they did have, they involved Pope in the running back committee as well. He had a concussion, so he could be the one. That's why I think Bellage might not be a guaranteed call-up. Yeah, I agree with you completely that he might not be. I think it's almost more based on Trumane Pope. If I had to pick one of these guys between Belage and Kelly, I still lean Belage just because.
what I've seen from Kelly has been bad. Yeah, he doesn't look good. Kelly's going to get opportunity, and I'm not going to start him because I don't think he can do anything with his opportunity. He hasn't done it after those first two weeks. He's looked really bad. So, you know, been there, done that type of thing. You at least have upside and hope and optimism with Kalam Belage based on him looking better, running ahead of Joshua Kelly last week. But it is super risky. There is absolutely no guarantee that Kalam Belage is.
even active for the game. That being said, if he is, oh, back-to-back revenge games, he's got Miami and the chance. He doesn't stand rosters long enough to need revenge. Let me bring up the name, though, that I'm talking about. My number one right now, I pick up J.D. McKissick. If you're in a half, he's on the list. That was the name I was going to bring up next. That was the name I was going to bring up. But so he's number one. But I say that because the number two situation, you know, everybody wants to make apologies for him.
Everybody wants to talk about how great the schedule is for him. But nobody wants to carry that to its end. And we're talking about Jonathan Taylor and we're talking about Jordan Wilkins. If the schedule that everybody loves for Jonathan Taylor is so incredibly great, the player that Frank Reich trusts in the backfield is named Jordan Wilkins. It's not Jonathan Taylor. Jonathan Taylor, for the second consecutive week, had fewer opportunities in the backfield than Jordan Wilkins. He also fumbled, which turned into a...
defensive touchdown. And then he pretty much- Well, Philip Rivers should have had him. Pretty much should have had the tackle. Didn't even see the field again after that. There has been a decline in confidence with Jonathan Taylor in the offense. And if you put, you know, that together with the confidence of Jordan Wilkins, the production for Jordan Wilkins in the previous game.
I'm telling you, like, there's no reason for Jordan Wilkins not to be rostered in the exact same amount of situations you'd roster Jonathan Taylor other than the name problem. And this is one of those things that if you see through it, you look at the schedule. Jordan Wilkins could be the predominant back for Indianapolis rest of season. And so I don't know why you wouldn't add him to the roster. Yeah, I mean, I just don't see it the same way.
I don't think it's just a name thing. I think it's a talent thing. I think you've seen that. Last week, with the limited work, with the fumble where he didn't get back in, you know, Jonathan Taylor had a better fantasy week than Jordan Wilkins. Because he scored a touchdown. He scored a touchdown. I'm just saying you watched the beginning of the game and it was all Jonathan Taylor and then he fumbled and he barely got in the game again. That's not true. It wasn't all Jonathan Taylor. Who was first up?
Yes, Jonathan Taylor was first up. That doesn't make it all Jonathan Taylor. He had fewer opportunities. And the week before, Jordan Wilkins was 2489 with the touchdown. So he was the number six running back. What happened that week? What happened that week was what you brought up with Philip Rivers saying that he was nicked up. And then they came out afterwards and said it happened. They didn't know about it until after the game. I mean, I hope that you grab Jonathan or Jordan Wilkins in our league.
That's what I hope. Well, I just think that Jordan Wilkins has, if you make a bunch of compelling cases for the schedule for Indianapolis and Jordan Wilkins receives more carries than Jonathan Taylor does, it seems very much a bias towards Jonathan Taylor's hype than it does opportunity. Here's the more time we spend, the more time you two spend arguing on Jonathan Taylor is the more time I get to sit over here and pretend there's not a Clyde Edwards-Aler problem.
Yeah, so continue. Yeah, that's true. Well, I mean, Jordan Wilkins, the one that is trusted, his game logs, if you look at them, he was the running back 46, 51, 72, 123, 6, he had a good one, and then 45. It's such a bad argument. It's such a bad argument. You're saying a bad argument is the worst argument ever because he wasn't, that what's happened is a loss of trust in Taylor over the last two weeks. Everybody can see it in the performance.
on the field taking his early game logs when he wasn't given any opportunities at all. Look, this is a change. It's a transformation in what's happening. Yeah. Sorry. I'd send aside more with Andy that Jonathan Taylor is a problem. What would you to bid on Jordan Wilkins then? I think Jordan Wilkins has the potential to be a spot start the rest of the season. I'd rather have him than dealing with Galman Freeman. I'd rather have him than dealing with Belaj Kelly. I'd rather have them than dealing with Harris Burkett.
So what would you bid on them? It depends on your team. Like three? Maybe is that where you are? If I need a running back, I would bid more. I mean, 10 bucks, you know, something like that. Okay, but back to J.D. McKissick, because of this list, Jady McKissick is my number one player I want to grab off this list. I agree with that. Because of everybody else has a situation where you can argue.
against them. You can't argue against Jady McKissick. He has the passing down back for Washington. He ran the most routes of any running back in week nine. That turned into 14 targets. And you're like, well, what happened? Why did it turn into 14 targets? Alex Smith. Alex Smith is the quarterback for Washington. He will be the quarterback for Washington moving forward because Kyle Allen dislocated his ankle and he is out for the season.
Antonio Gibson is the first and second down running back for this team. Antonio Gibson has only touched the ball once on third down, which is an absolute travesty, and it's something I don't have time to rant about in this courage juncture. But Jady McKissick will be involved. He'll get a couple of carries here and there, but in a PPR league, I think that he will be trustworthy for the remainder of the season. Yeah, I agree. He would be my number one running back. And I think that...
There's almost everybody this week when you look at it. It's all injury related. It's, okay, is Gus Edwards going to be there? Is Mark Ingram back? And there's short term. Exactly. Short term injuries like Duke Johnson from Houston, he would be a great pickup. He would be great. But David Johnson has a concussion. You have no idea if he's going to be back.
And that's exactly why I brought Jordan Wilkins up to begin with is because his situation is not surrounding injury. It's surrounding snaps and opportunities. And, you know, the truth is, is Naim Hines is involved in that offense too. You know, he's getting all the third downs. DJ Dallas, you know, the clock is is there for DJ. It's got to be ticking, though. And Homer, look, it was the exact same thing this past week. He got into the end zone.
But he was seven for 31. He's not been efficient, and they transitioned to Homer over the back half of the game. More snaps for Homer. It's betting on injuries. I'm not excited about any of those players. Same situation for Ryan Knoll in Chicago. He would take over for David Montgomery. David Montgomery left the game with a concussion. You don't know if Montgomery will clear the concussion protocol before Sunday. But he might. But.
And if he does, he would be, I mean, there's, there's, you know, Tariq Cohen is gone. If, if David Montgomery is not there, Ryan Knoll would have a lot of usage, but this offensive line is. It is, but it's against Minnesota and you saw. Cordela Patterson though or Ryan Kno? I think I would go Ryan Knoll. We saw four targets for him in very limited work.
Yeah, I would as well. But obviously, if you're going to play the will a player come back from a concussion game. Yeah, it's a tough game to play. I would lean towards Duke Johnson, a player we know would be more involved, is better. The offense is clicking right now. But that would be behind J.D. McKissick. All right. It's probably worth bringing up Salvin Ahmed from Miami because he led the team in snaps last week.
It seems like the next Gaskin up is Salvin Ahmed. He's the smaller back. If you listened and watched this game, this entire offense is predicated on something that Jordan Howard can't do. It's not all they hate Jordan Howard. It's just that his skill set does not fit what the offense needs to do, which is to get some of these running backs out on the edge. It's just not what Jordan Howard is capable of. So Ahmed is probably the favorite for Snapson and fantasy.
production this week against the Chargers if, and we know Gaston's going to be out. Yeah, and if you watch that game, it seemed like there was even just midgame kind of a shift where they started with more Jordan Howard and then they switched over and Ahmed got more and more involved. I would expect if Matt Brita is out this week, which is very, very realistic. Yeah, his hamstring issue, I think makes sense to be a two-week injury. If he's out,
Ahmed would be the one I would pick up. I agree with you guys, but I will say DeAndre Washington, he can cause a problem with that. They traded for him. DeAndre Washington has a complete skill set. He's not necessarily a trusted three-down runner, but he can run, and he has good enough hands to be a third down running back. So it's possible that Ahmed was just a one-week thing. Absolutely. It's also possible that if either one of those guys,
really do have the lion's share of the work that when they get on the goal line, it's still Jordan Howard, in which case what it sounds like between Breed to Howard Ahmed and D'Andre Washington is a situation best to avoid. Agreed. Agreed. So do we want to do the top pickups there again at the running back position? I mean, McKissick is the number one for all three of us. Yeah, it's Jady McKissick for me. And then injury monitoring? Yeah, it's.
