Week 7 Waivers & QB Streamers, Jason Gets His Groove Back

I'm sure he's been dropped a lot recently because they were. I thought the move was happy. They were on by. Everyone, you know, thought it was switching over to Ronald Jones. And it's not. It's Peyton Barber's team. And so he's the starting running back. I know he was.

poor as the starting running back the first few weeks. We say this all the time. There's just not starting running backs out there on the waiver wire. Are you picking up? Gore or Barber? Barber. I'll take the high flying offense of Tampa Bay. I'll take the risk. Yeah, that's fair. More odds of a, you know, better odds of a touchdown. And Payton Barber is featured. This week only, if I need to start. Edo Smith has been out there. This is a great matchup against the Giants. He's been kind of playing that Freeman roll light. He's actually in there in the red zone. He's kind of the Freeman-shaped guy, you know, 5-9, 200 pounds, and he's been getting the red zone. Hasn't lost his speed yet. No. So.

Ito Smith is a guy that I've been slow to come around on. Yeah, I've been trying to push Edo Smith on you for a while. I would rather start the guaranteed, the Gore and Barber over Eda, though. I think he's pretty guaranteed. You know, I took a look. He has the same amount of red zone carries as David Johnson. If he doesn't score, though, you get nothing. Well, I mean, that's been his career. Hold on. Same red zone.

snaps. His career is like four games long. But in each game, look, three for five in a touchdown. Three for five. That was last week. But that was when Freeman was also in. Okay, the week before that, when he was out, seven for 35 and a touchdown. This past week, 11 for 22. He's not breaking long plays. And a touchdown. He's not, and a touchdown. That's what I'm saying. My point was that you have to have him score to be relevant. That's all. Yeah. And I don't think you have to have.

Gore and Barber don't have to score to be relevant to your fantasy team. That's my point because Gore last week was a 100-yard rusher. Meadow Smith was a 22-yard rusher. Is there anybody here the whole list that you would spend up for your Fab or burn your waiver wire priority list on? You need a start. Is there anyone that you say, I've got to make sure I get this guy over that guy? No.

Only if you happen to be in one of those leagues where the Philadelphia runners are still available. Agreed. All right, let's move on. Tight-ins. Evan Ingram coming back this week. He's mostly owned. Austin Hooper now is mostly owned, but just pay attention. He's a beautiful butterfly now, though. He is transformed. He's a beautiful butterfly. He's not NBA Jam an Omni yet. He's heating up, man. He's heating up, but that's not enough.

I've seen this movie a million times. And it's also, it's usually starring Jared Cook. Yeah, two weeks does not a career make. Austin Hooper needs to do it again against the Giants to solidify himself as the top 10 tied in in the NFL. Once the glass is broken, Andy, you can't put it back together. It's Austin Hooper time. You know, it's nice that they have been using him in this role with their poorest defense.

And we've seen Matt Ryan. I mean, you know, we forget Matt Ryan used to use Tony Gonzalez a ton. And to see Hooper kind of grow into that role, he's definitely a weekly start for me right now. He's not a must pick up and start. I'm not going to be dropping other, you know, Trey Burton. I'm not going to say, oh, I've got nine, nine receptions, two weeks in a row. I'm not going to drop Trey Burton for Austin Hooper now.

Hmm. Tray Burton's confusing. He keeps scoring, but he's getting two receptions. I'm more excited about a guy that's not owned that is going to be relevant for the remainder of the season, and that is C.J. Uzama. Secrets. The tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals, six for 54 on seven targets, has Kansas City, Tampa Bay the next two weeks. CJ Usama will be targeted.

He will make plays. He's athletic. And Croft is a, quote, might return at some point this season. Eifford's done. Usama is relevant. Yes. And Andy Dalton is playing well. Mike, would you rather have Uzama or Austin Hooper? That's a great question. That's why I ask you. I think it's an important question because I think the majority of fantasy owners would instantly say Hooper by default. And I would say Hooper too.

Yeah, I lean Hooper just what it. But it's not a wide gap. I'm being just being jocular over here with the O'S Hooper. I side most with Andy that I'm not completely bought in that the breakout has happened for Hooper, but it's at least in the realm of possibilities, which is why I would take the shot. It's not a full boil, but I see bubbles. You know what I mean? We're almost there.

Okay, how about another half-owned player, so might not be available, but because he was injured and off of a bi-week dropped a lot of places, where does O.J. Howard mix in with those other two players? To me, the top. Yeah, I was going to say, I would rather have O.J. Howard than either of those other guys. Agreed. Because the ceiling is enormous like he is. Yeah, I completely agree. And if you're having tight-end struggles, Vance McDonald, he's available in half of leagues.

but he's going to be on buy this week. There is a great chance that he has dropped. Vance McDonald is the type of tight end that I would hold on to. If I have to double up, gross, I get it. If I have to double up at the tight end position to cover Vance McDonald's by week, I would not drop him. There's just so many teams that will be forced to drop him because you don't always have enough players to drop on a buy week. You know, if you've got...

Not only him on Byweek, if he was your only tied in, but let's say you've got another running back or wider two around by, you're not going to be able to drop a lot of people. Yeah, Vance McDonald will be dropped a lot of places. If you've got the roster spot, pick them up. I'm just looking at the game log for Austin Hooper all of last season. He had one game in which he had nine targets all of last year. Yeah. And then this year, four, five, four, and two. These are the, not the, he's never had double digit targets. And now he's had it in two straight weeks. It's very interesting. It's very scary.

I think he's a good, not great athlete. So, well, this is like full fire. Yeah, it's NBA Jam rules, man. Yeah. He's heating up. If he catches fire this week, he's staying in the flames. Stay in the flames. And if he misses, then he's just, he's over. He's got to start over. Yeah, he just falls down a tier into that kind of, you hope you get something tied in category. We'll circle back to some defensive streamers after we do full stream ahead, by the way. I know I skipped those. So look, this week, Big Ben, Aaron Rogers, Russell Wilson, they're all on by. So is Derek Carr, but nobody's playing him. Who do you like? I mean, I've seen better weeks for streaming options, and that's why we said go get Winston and Dalton and some of these other guys ahead of time. Because it's not, I don't have supreme confidence this week. That's the way I would put it. I see.

games that can be, they can be in the right direction. But like my stream of the week has the words, ooh, next to it. And it's Joe Flacco against New Orleans. Now, New Orleans is playing better. Joe Flacco, the matchup, it looks pretty good. He's got weapons. John Brown can beat people deep. Crabtree had it coming out last week. And look, he has his full allotment of four tight ends to throw the ball too. So I think Flacco, I mean, he's my stream of the week.

because I think he can get it done. I mean, he's at home against New Orleans. So you could do worse than Joe Flacco. I'm with it. My stream of the week also, but I'm with it, man. Eli Manning, he gets to take on the Atlanta Falcons. Here are the point totals for the, that opponents have scored on the Atlanta Falcons the past four weeks. 43, 37, 41, 29. It's been rough. This is a team that scored 30 plus points for two straight weeks against teams they weren't expected to do that against. That's all I need to know. He made a noon while very relevant early in the season, and Kirst is good enough. I think you could be picking up a PPR machine. I would spend more than 10%. Yeah, I would say I would be in the 15 to 20% now. Let me ask you this. Would you drop?
