Hey, this is Patrick Mahomes, quarterback to the Kansas City Chiefs, and you're listening to the Fantasy Footballers podcast. To the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome in.

2:48 ↗

Wednesday, September 15th, Mike Wright, Jason Moore, Andy Holloway, the fantasy footballer's back with you. Just waiting on some waivers. Oh, God, don't remind me. Well, I was going to ask if Mike had recovered from... Oh, I'm back. You're back? I'm back, baby. Just ready for waivers?

3:09 ↗

I feel like... Listen, tell me how much I need to spend. You guys are in my league. Tell me how much I need to spend. I just clicked it up a couple more. Oh, you did it. Come on, Michael. He knows he can drain my fabric right here, right now. I want it to go through, and you get them for some outrageous price, and then you go and look at the waiver. And likes it like $11. We're talking about Elijah Mitchell, by the way. Look, I don't know if you guys know this about me. Oh, clicked it up. Oh, stop it. But I got to go change my... Hold on.

3:39 ↗

I was actually pretty in on Rahim Moster. I don't know if you guys knew that. I heard. I heard. Now out for the year. Which this was this was a player that spent most of his time on social media defending himself against an injury prone label in the last off season, right? I've got more. Old takes exposed. I've got more muscles now.

4:03 ↗

You had the, what, the spouse or girlfriend coming out and saying like, you guys make a big deal about everything. He's fine. Two plays, really? It's sad. And I know that I don't control it, but man, it would have been nice if he had played more than two plays. Because he like he was going to be really good? Yes, Mike. He was going to be really, like Elijah Mitchell was. You think it? Oh, thank you. Oh, yeah. Just got more expensive. Just click the button one more time.

4:35 ↗

I honestly don't know. I have been, I have never before, like my team, my roster, the way it shake, and we're in a keeper league, and the way it shakes out, and we've got a lot to talk about on today's show, we got by sell, we've got mailbag, we'll get to it. This is far more important. I've never gone back and forth on a number more than I've done with a larger waiver claim. Yeah, because this is very, I mean, it's contextual, right? It's like, if your team is desperate, it's weak.

5:05 ↗

Two. If, if they're, what percentage chance is he, you know, the guy? It's not 100%. No. Like it could be Trace Sermon. Kyle Shanahan, like what are the odds? Sunday rolls around.

5:19 ↗

Jamichael hasty. Of course. Is the starting running back for the team that could happen. Jamichael hasty is actually what scares me in the sense. I went back, looked at the snap percentages, the game flow theory. And basically what was happening was it was a, it was Elijah Mitchell as a first and second now back. And Jamichael hasty as the.

5:38 ↗

third down back. That's what was going on. So it's one of those where... But that's most... Mostert was the first second down back. But if Trace Sermon overtakes Elijah Mitchell, there is no guarantee that it's Trace Serman and Michael Hastie in the third down roll. Are you taking your bid down now, Mike? After that? Nope. I just went up. Look, uh, yes. Where are you on? Yeah. I mean, he set you up perfect over there, producers. I put a pause and the...

6:05 ↗

It's okay. There it is. It's better late than never. Better late. When is week two, like last year, if you could go back in time, there were players that you would have spent more on in week two if you knew how their season was going to. And James Robinson would have been worth all of your fat. And. Oh, great. All of my fab. And I know I'm supposed to be giving advice, but I need it now. I honestly, Elijah Mitchell is so difficult because I honestly believe that you have to take the shot. You have to go get him. And I've seen.

6:31 ↗

Tons of people on Twitter. Like, I went a full Hagar, and I got him, and I barely got him because I went with the, I went with the full 55, and then you've, but we talked about, you got to know your league. Someone's like, I went to full Hagar. I found out I wasted 30, 30 of my fab bucks because it was the highest bid by 30. Like, you, it's so hard to gauge. There's a way to do it. I figured it out. You got the Algo? Yeah, I have the Algo figured out. You should have led with this. Yeah, well, no, I mean, I.

7:02 ↗

think about the number and then decide if you'd be mad if you were beat at that number. Yes. I mean, really, that's the way to do it. I had a number yesterday. I was talking with my co-manager. He's like, yeah, we should probably go here. We'll probably get him. And then we're like, yeah, but what if somebody else gets him and you went that number? Like, it doesn't really matter if you overpaid. You just need to be content with the fact you get it. And it's all about desperation. I looked around the league.

7:29 ↗

I'm the most desperate team for a running back. Yes. Therefore, like, my season could fall apart without another running back. And I think that's the perfect way to lay it out. Like, we get asked all the time, what should I go? What do I blind bid on this? How do I get this player on my roster? The answer is, what's the number? You'll be okay if I put that number in and I don't get him. Yep, 100%. So that's fantastic. And we have some questions today just talking about

8:00 ↗

strategy with the waiver wire and whether you put conditional bids in to release a player, whether you drop players ahead of time. You know, every platform works a little bit differently on how it functions if you're in a fab bidding system. If I'm being honest, I don't think any of them work the way they should quite yet. I think you need to give people the ability to make smart waiver claims. We need a flow chart. We do. You should be able to build out and if this, then that type of chart where

8:28 ↗

You know, you could put in bids on the same player at different prices. Yes. Which is a problem. But we'll get into that. But since we figured that out, I have a new number, guys. Oh, let's hear. It's just wind up. But you're not going to reveal it. Oh, no. Because that would be so much more helpful for me. It will be revealed in about 22 minutes. How in the world? I mean, you have Mark Ingram. You don't need running backs. Oh, I've got the king of Texas. Yeah.

9:48 ↗

quickly. Yep. And you can submit questions. And we have a, it's a little more loose, I think. Oh, yeah. I mean, because we're still button up right now. All right. Into buy sell, we go. Buy or sell presented by pristine auction. I know Mike's bid is like $7. And all will be revealed. Well, I guess it was. Yeah. Just went up. Last week, you guys got two out of three right on the buy sell.

10:26 ↗

I had one right. And it's kind of unfortunate because it was Logan Thomas five receptions. He had three in a big touchdown, but hey, you guys got it. He came through for fantasy. We didn't really hit on this because he was a tight end seven, three for 30 with a touchdown. But Andy, let me get your take on this. Three targets. That was it.

10:51 ↗

for Logan Thomas and Curtis Samuel, who was kind of, he was the player that we were concerned about coming in and siphoning targets away from Logan Thomas, but Curtis Samuel wasn't there, and Logan still only had three targets. This is offense. I mean, the offense is not going to be great. Ryan Fitzpatrick, he had a different floor than Taylor Heineke has. There's a trust to throw the football in situations. You will hand the ball off to Antonio Gibson now. So, yeah, if I had Logan Thomas,

11:22 ↗

there's a chance I'm looking to upgrade, but you know, there's only a handful of those guys you can do that with. You're not getting Darren Waller after week one. You're not getting Travis Kelsey. Correct. So I would be looking for maybe a Dallas got it. Oh, I see. You staring down someone after a trade offer. I think Logan Thomas is actually going to be fine. I realize there's only three targets, but the team did not throw the ball a lot. They were winning the game and with the backup quarterback coming in. I think that they will.

11:48 ↗

throw more going forward now that they can practice with Heineke. I mean, I don't know if you know this, Andy. Do you know who led the team in targets? I do not. Antonio Gibson with five. So there were there were not a lot of targets to go around. You could definitely hope, but there is no. That is also a bad thing, right? To have to hope. Yeah, I mean, it's a bad thing to have to tell me that Antonio Gibson led the team in targets. Oh, sure, yeah. If you have Logan Thomas, Terry McLaurin. Not of Gibson's on your team.

12:18 ↗

That wasn't a pro-Gybson thing. He was barely in double digits. Antonio Gibson, despite touching the ball three times a play. Yeah, I was not making a pro-Gybson statement there. I was making an anti-Washington football team throwing the ball. Yeah. That was the leader in targets on the team. They just didn't throw the ball a lot. Yeah, they'll all have good games, which you might have some real stinkers with Heinekeye at quarterback. Buy or Sell, week two. We'll call this the bounceback edition. Aaron Rogers, add to Troy, three passing touchdowns, buy or sell.

12:47 ↗

Give me the team that he's playing again? The Detroit Football Lions. I will buy this immediately. Thank you. I feel like this is a price just went up situation. I will buy. Oh, man. There it. Slow on the uptake back there. Three passing. It's not three or more. It's three. Oh, so if he hits three, I lose if I sell him. Yeah, I'll sell. Okay. So you think two? Yeah, I think two. I hate two and we get some running game in this one.

13:16 ↗

Detroit's secondary is just so bad. The numbers on Aaron Rogers, by the way, when he has a stinker like he had in week one, which was historically one of the worst games that Aaron Rogers has put up, statistically speaking, he bounces back in a big way after those games. And this is the perfect, perfect matchup. Calvin Ridley at Tampa Bay, 100 receiving yards. He did not have a big week one, right?
