A League of Record-heavy episode turns trades and draft-redo picks into character comedy, including Jason's disbelief at his own accepted trade and a long defense of co-managers.
You know that it's Gronk. It's Abuka, man. You need to tell him, hey, pause right before you say it. We will say it in your ear. Maybe they did. And then repeat yourself. Maybe they did. And that's still what we got. That was... Incredible. Just too funny. Goodness gracious. Could not have slaughtered it. Yeah, let's... And you got to give credit to this rookie sensation wide receiver out of Ohio State. Emeka Egbegbu. I could listen to that a hundred times. I really could. All right. We have Jason. Not even remotely close. All right. I've got four names, Jason. I have six.
I'm curious if these four are on your list of six. All right. Let me hear them. Derrick Henry. Derrick Henry is one of... I've got three running backs. Rome is on my list. Rome was the name that I struggled with. Quentin Johnson? Quentin Johnson is not on my list here. Jamar Chase is on there. So my list... My three running backs are Derrick Henry, Ashen Gentey, and Travis Etienne. Not Bucky Irving. I guess not. I mean, Bucky is in that group for sure. But being injured, it's hard to take him. Jamar Chase, Roma Doonze, and Devontae Adams, who's just getting it done as...
And I think he will continue to. It's really tough. If I was going to really take one of those picks right here, right now, I would... You should probably go with... Emika Ekbegbu. It doesn't get familiar. It's not like, oh, I've heard this. No, no, no. Here. We went... At 12, it was A-chan. Cook was 13. Nico was 14. At 15, we went... And you've got to give credit to... Oh, crap. Wrong one. Emika Ekbegbu. And then it was Kyron, London, Allen, Wilson, Brees Hall, Judkins, and Javante. All right. Who are you taking? I'm going to take the fun pick.
I'm going to take Ashton Gentey. Okay. I don't think that's wrong at all. I mean, that's a good pick. I'll put Derrick Henry in it with the final spot of the second round and try to keep the context. I mean, Saquon went higher in this draft than I thought. And that was part of keeping the context that we're five weeks in. Yes. We know what the power of those two players was over the last two years. Henry freaks me out more. Because Henry... Like, Saquon, like I said, Eagles, stable. Ravens, big, big trouble. And for... Yeah. They just... Whatever offensive stuff they're doing, they just...
Whenever they go to pass mode, they feel like, we got to put Justice Hill on the field. Which... Yeah. I understand you got to utilize his skill set. But there are so many times on third and short, and Justice Hill is out there. And I think it is just such a travesty and stupid. In ours, no Bucky, no Jamar Chase, no Devontae Adams, no Roma Dunze. Yeah. No ETN, and no tight ends. And no Kuge. Yeah. It's... No tight ends, though, is a tough one. All right. We are going to jump into the mailbag. Mailbag. Presented by NFL Sunday Ticket.

That number is 302-464-TFFB. First question from George in Kansas City. Would you trade Darren Waller and... Imika Ekbegbu. For Puka Nakua. Oh. Wow. So this is great. Yeah. Yeah, this is great. Yeah. This is great because I... They already have Tray McBride. Then, yeah. Absolutely. I literally on the drive into work today as a manager of... Imika Ekbegbu. As a manager of... He's going to start screwing us up. ...Abuca. Oh, yeah.
I thought, you know, I could go maybe... Like, what if I could get Puka in a trade where I give Ekbegbu and more for Puka? Yeah. You can go... Don't you have Waller? And I do have Waller. Yeah. But... I don't think it... I actually just was like, I like Ekbegbu too much. Yeah. But you should do the trade. Yeah, no. It's a great trade. And I don't think we've brought up Darren Waller enough. Number one in points per game at tight end. He is... So I went back for the Dynasty show that came out today. If you are in Dynasty, listen to the Fantasy Footballers Dynasty podcast.
I did a film review of the Dolphins minus Tyree Kill. I just watched every snap over again yesterday to just see how did the offense look. And my big takeaway was just like, holy crap, Darren Waller looks amazing. Yeah, he looks fast. He looks like their best weapon. Like, the passes to Darren Waller were... Those were their best plays. He looked so fast, big, strong. And he was only on the field, you know, half the snaps. And they're going to keep working him in more and more and more. I mean... What did the snap count get up to? I think it was like 50...
I was guessing it would be in the 45 range. Was it higher than that? Yeah, I think it was 50 to... I think it was in the 50s. Oh, baby. Let's go. So, his first week was 28%. This last week was 58%. Five for 78. Used downfield. Used on those seam routes. Like, I mean, we saw this with Jonu Smith. You know that he's telling the truth, Jason is, because he would love to get Darren Waller for me in our League of Record. And he's not pretending like the tape was bad. Yeah. I mean, he's telling the truth. And I think, you know, you're not going to like this either.
But I think this is the cheaper time you can get Darren Waller. I agree with that. I think he's going to get more expensive. If he, you know, over the next month, if he has three good games... He is heating up, as they say. Yeah. If he has three good games over the next month, then all of a sudden, at that point, you're going to be looking at him like, who would you... You know, who's the best tight end right now? Like, literally, who was... I mean, I would say Trey McBride. It's been a little disappointing. Yeah, Trey McBride's been a little disappointing.
It's certainly not going to be Kincaid rest of season. It could be Tyler Warren. I think it's probably Warren. It could be... Honestly, it's George Kittle. Like, when George Kittle comes back, he's going to dominate. What's wild is Warren's been good, but it's not insane. But no, Tiger's been insane. Like, the points scored by Waller in the last two games both outscore any Warren game. Yeah. I mean, Waller is in that conversation. Like, when I look at who's the best tight ends to have rest of season, he's there. And that sucks for me to say. We need that program. The ramp that he was on?
Oh, dude. Yeah. Go, go, go, go, go. You thought we would never play that drop again. He may legitimately have a shot at being the best tight end in football for the rest of the season. That's fun. Not saying that's guaranteed. McBride should be in the mix. Someone asked, Sam in New York asked, would you trade Tyler Warren for Trey McBride straight up? I would do that. I would as well. I would rather have McBride. I would too. I think it will be. Now, now we did. We did just get news. Kyler Murray, Kyler Murray in the foot injury. Not practicing.
Well, thankfully, thankfully, Jacoby Brissett is a capable backup that can get the ball to these players. He's I don't feel like that is in the maybe in terms of the Arizona Cardinals offense, because he doesn't have the mobility Kyler has. But as far as the the pocket passing, I don't think it's a major step down for the receiving options of McBride or or Marv. Yeah. OK, moving on. Next question comes in. Oh, we have a voicemail. Let's go to that one. Hey, ballers. Waddle owner from Toronto here. Just wondering what you think of him. What do we think our long term outlook on Waddle is?
Should we sell high while he's still healthy or do you think you lost the season? Who are you looking for? Tet, maybe? I mean, what do you think? Yeah, I mean, bonjour. Bonjour. Yeah, I think I think Waddle is going to be great. So, yeah, the question is how are we feeling? Temperature check here on Jalen Waddle, who even those first few weeks where Tyreek was playing, he was getting it done. And then that was the first week, full week without Tyreek, right? Yes. Which he's always been. Six for one, ten. He's been really good in those situations. And a touchdown.
He is an awesome, awesome player who his issue has never been skill. It is just his body doesn't love to play football. Did you see him again this week? Did it happen again? Oh, it was unbelievable. I missed that one. Al and I were watching it and nothing happened to Waddle. Nothing happened whatsoever. I didn't. Nothing. He wasn't even. I don't even think he was tackled. He was down in agony. When I was re-watching the Dolphins film, it literally, like the pro.nfl recap, I didn't even know they did this, but it was like, you know, pass, complete, left to Jalen Waddle,
exits with injury. It was like, oh, Waddle. Good. Yeah. We all like Waddle, but so Waddle or Tett McMillan, which side do you prefer? So I've got a hundred degree low grade fever on Jalen Waddle. I think he's necessary to this offense. I really like him. I'm like 104 for Tett. Yeah. Like I think Tett is going to help people win championships at the end of the year. I still need to be convinced. I would love to be on that team. I, it's one of those things where it's like the peripheral of the Carolina Panthers offense and the. Yeah. Bryce.
And Bryce and the fact that he can be, he can make a good pass. He could get. The stink. Dunked for two sacks. The stink of Bryce is why Tett is what he is right now. But I mean, this is a rookie. But Jalen Coker's coming back. I mean. There's a rookie who threw his first five games is on pace for 1200 yards in his rookie season. Yeah. I mean, and that's good. That's good. But it's also like Bryce is, Bryce is keeping Tett's price down, but Bryce has supported. Remember, you know, Adam Thielen, old man Adam Thielen. Yeah. Bryce got it done with him.
The touchdowns haven't been there. And it's not like he's finishing with no touchdowns. It was better with Dalton. Dalton got Deontay Johnson and Thielen cooking. It's just, it's a little hard for me to be all the way there is all I'm saying. I understand. You're talking about like rest of season, total yardage. I would put a bet on Waddle over Tett on total yardage. On total yardage. I mean, because you brought up the yard projection. I'm just saying like more touchdowns. I think Waddle probably scores more touchdowns. I think Waddle probably has more touchdowns. Tett has more yardage. That's how I would see it.
Yeah. It's going to be, it's a pretty close one. If you're in any league with a keeper league or a dynasty league and that trade is on the table, I would definitely be on the Tett side of that. But I think rest of the season this year, it's a little bit tougher for me, but I get it. I get buying in to no touchdowns. I mean, Tyreek should be gone. Yeah. Like next year. I think it will. Well, number one. Their head coach and their quarterback. Yeah, that's true. It'll be a, they'll probably clean the house. So we'll, we'll see.
There, there are, I don't know. Sometimes the team still looks okay this year to me. Like Miami, I I'll, I'll give, if this is credit, I don't know if it is or not. I guess I would have thought that the team would have quit by now. And I don't, I don't see the team quitting. I think the team has been okay. They've had stretches. They've had victories that, you know, what are they right now? Are they two and three? Are they one and four? I would have to go check. Dolphins standings. Dolphins are one and four. Okay. I tell you what, I'm going to put this out in the universe.
Should Mr. McDaniel lose his current occupation, Arizona will take you as an offensive coordinator. Offensive coordinator. Yes. And honestly, instantaneously. Yes. If you, while you're walking out of the office, we will send a car to pick you up and you can come. I will do it. Yeah, we will. Oh, dude, I will. I'll fly. You know what? I'll take Blobfish to the airport too. It's like. I will take Drew Patsing to the airport on my side and you can bring Mike McDaniel. We'll charter it. Next year, McDaniel will go to a team and he will be an OC and I will be very interested
in that team's offense. Yeah, there are. It's wild because I think the worst coach by a long shot right now in the NFL is Aaron Glenn in New York. Unfortunately, yeah. He's a defensive-minded head coach that went there and made their defense worse and their offense worse and their team undisciplined. Like, you just have to look at what's happening. He's another one of those guys. I'm like, is he just a coordinator? Like, is he just like a dominant defensive coordinator but can't do the whole thing? I don't know. Right. Gets overwhelmed when it's everything. Like, I think we are learning and Jason and I, we brought this up with Detroit.
Like, the play calling in Detroit is great. There's no Ben Johnson. There's trick plays. There's smart plays. There's great play calling. I think that you're at the point now in Detroit, which we never thought we'd be at five, 10 years ago, where the structure and the environment and the head coach and the organization and the general manager, it is building. Like, Aaron Glenn was there. Right? Aaron Glenn leaves. He doesn't look like a good coach. You just wonder how much of the structure is really supporting these coaches. And that's a credit. Guns Mahoney. That's a credit to the best head coaches in football.
This was Bill Belichick's whole universe and Andy Reid's whole universe. Yeah, it's Reed. I mean, you have. The Reed guys leave and it doesn't work. Yeah, the Shanahan tree and all of those guys. Like, sometimes it works out. But sometimes they're kind of shown to be like, hey, you don't have all of the, it's like the trellis for the vine. The trellis isn't there for these guys. And yeah, Mike McDaniel, maybe a better OC. Aaron Glenn, maybe better at DC. I don't know. But we'll find out. We'll find out next year. If he's got a job next year or not.
Probably for both of them. One more, Nick from Gulf Breeze, Florida. Okay. That's a cool sounding place. Okay. Nico Collins and Tony Pollard for Josh Jacobs. Would you do that? I need a solid running back. I would do that. Yeah, I would definitely do that. Yeah, I think that's fine. Tony Pollard is the arrow is, as Tom would say, it's pointed down. That does not seem weird to me. I'm in between. It can just be pointed down. It doesn't have to be pointing down. Yeah, I think it can be pointed down. It can be. The arrow's pointed down. That doesn't sound like that.
Who's okay with pointed over there instead of pointing? So we've got. The child over in the corner is good with the name of you. Did you hear that Jalen Warren is looked up? Things are really looked up for him right now. See, that one sounds way weird. Now that does. I mean, I don't know if that's a fair example or not. I don't either. But it's funny. So you're saying if an arrow's on the wall and it's facing downward, you can only say it's pointing downward. You can't say it's pointed down? Because it almost means like it's no longer doing that.
Yeah. Pointed is like past tense. Oh, you think it's because pointed is pointed down? Yeah, exactly. It doesn't bother me. Oh, man. Now the looked one is hilarious. Yeah. When you gave that example of the arrow. I think I almost got Mike on a spin take there. Almost got me. I need that on my board. I don't think you do. I think I'm a big boo. That's all.
