You're picky about your fantasy draft. You got rankings, sleepers, mock drafts, and too many tabs open. You know what else you should be picky about? Buffalo sauce. Introduce a primal kitchen, the official buffalo sauce of the NFL. Primal Kitchen buffalo sauce. It's made how it should be with real ingredients like avocado oil and big time flavor. Build your game day spread like your championship roster and include a sauce worth drafting.

0:29 ↗

Find Primal Kitchen buffalo sauce at grocery stores nationwide or on primalcitchen.com. This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Every football fan is different. Some won't wash their lucky mustard-stained jersey until the season's over. Some insist they can't sit down on third downs and some pick their favorite team because, I don't know, just like football fandom.

0:54 ↗

Nobody's life is exactly the same. And that's why State Farm gets to know you, not as a policy number, but as an actual person. So they can help personalize a coverage plan that's just for you. Whether it's game day or just another Tuesday, State Farm has you covered. Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway and Mike Wright. Indeed. I start the day.

1:29 ↗

With extra pep in my step. You have extra pep? I don't. I have extra pep in my step. I am still mourning the loss of Carson Palmer. I will get to that. I don't know. That's fine. Don't bring me down right at the beginning of the show, man. I know. Welcome to the show, everybody. I'm Andy. I am Mike the fantasy hitman, right? Yes, the fantasy hitman. We are the fantasy footballers. And this is our podcast. Welcome, welcome. What do we say? It's November 11th.

1:59 ↗

2014 uh yeah mike and mike why did i just talk in the third person because when you call yourself the fantasy hitman you start to get a big head andy and i are correspondence for fantasy pros dot com and we do some write-ups there you can check out all the things that we have to say yeah you can contact us at the the

2:26 ↗

Fantasy Footballers at gmail.com. We're also on the Facebook. Facebook.com slash the fantasy footballers. And the reason for my extra pep is I took a contract out this weekend on your fantasy team. And the hitman provided another victory. You have pep in your step because head-to-head you beat me? That is correct. Yeah, yeah. Well, I'm in a bit of a...

2:55 ↗

sad state at the moment. Scoring points and losing games. I don't know how that happens. Not just a victory, but you had the, by far, the third highest point total of the week. Yes. And I had the second. And the head-to-head system. The second beats the third. Yeah, that's an unfortunate. The head-to-head system got you with its splintery claws of

3:25 ↗

of death and despair. We should talk about that. You want to talk about? Yeah, I mean, might as well. I mean, most people are in head-to-head leagues. Yeah. Actually, I would say like probably 95% of people. I would imagine them most people are. So what we're talking about is there's this really sad thing that happens sometimes where two teams play each other and they score the most points in the league that week and one gets a win, one gets a loss. And then some chump scores one third as many points, but he beats some.

3:54 ↗

Other chump, his scores even less, and they get a win. And then over the course of the season, maybe you don't have standings that reflect perfectly the best team. And so sometimes we talk about other ways. Yeah. You're in a league, a different league that does the standings a little bit different. Do you want to explain that? We do. You get the head-to-head counts as a victory. It counts as one point. And then we also.

4:21 ↗

Excuse me. The top six scores of the week will also receive a point because we found that we had just several instances of top overall point scores missing playoffs because they would just get hosed on a head-to-head match of week after week where they would, they're consistently putting up top six points, but they would happen to get matched up against the person who put up the most of the week.

4:51 ↗

And we wanted to, you want to reward the head-to-head matchup, but why we went with this is you also want to reward consistency. And it makes sense. Your goal is then to get a little bit better, take a little bit of the luck out of it, I guess. Yeah. It just rewards, yeah, not just luck, but it also rewards strong ownership and active owner, having a great draft, that type of thing. Really, putting in the work that,

5:21 ↗

We do and not just having a bad break in terms of your team can perform better than nine-tenths of the league. Right. Yeah. That makes sense. And now some people take that the full way. And even if you're in, you know, they may not be in a head-to-head league. I've heard of all play leagues where every week your team plays every other team. If you play in an NFL.com league, you can actually view your standings.

5:48 ↗

that way, how you would do if you were matched up against everybody every week. I like head-to-head for the reason of why this show opened. You have pep in your step because you defeat someone as good as me, which is obviously very difficult. And so you are now encouraged by it. But yeah, it's an interesting topic to bring up. It's obviously, I can tell you right now, it's extremely frustrating to dominate with an asterisk next to it and then get a loss for it.

6:14 ↗

But it's, you know, what I'd like to see is I like that way that your league does it, but your league does it manually. And I'd love to see some of these, the major networks. The providers. Yeah, the providers of these fantasy leagues to support some of that scoring, those types of scoring options. Right. Innovation. So, say we have to do and we have to customize our playoffs after they're done. Yeah, I mean, some innovation wouldn't be necessarily a bad thing.

6:43 ↗

a highly competitive market with all the money and everything that's made and being tossed around for fantasy? It's interesting. I would think some of these sites would start trying, especially the non-NFL.com ones because you're competing with the giant, the originator. The ad-riddled giant. Oh, goodness. Real quick, before we get on to news and notes, too, I want to just remind our listeners that they can

7:12 ↗

reward us for our contributions to your fantasy life by visiting us on iTunes and leaving us a five-star review. We got a couple more five-star reviews this week. Oh. I don't have them up. You want me to pull them up? No. Okay. But we did get a couple more, which is nice to see. And if you enjoy the show and you want to support the show, go to iTunes, type in the fantasy footballers, go to podcasts, find us there, and leave us a five-star review. And some people have...

7:41 ↗

They've asked me, they've wondered about these water bets that we make throughout the show. Like where can, they don't just want to hear about it. They want to see it. We have that ability. So we post those videos on our Facebook page. That's Facebook.com slash the fantasy footballer. So this week's will be coming. Yes. Andy has to pay the Piper.

8:04 ↗

Three times over this week. Yeah, I was insane. Now that I've lost to you and lost both of the bets, let's just rub water in my wounds. So those will be coming sometime this week. Yes. I'm getting over a little bit of a cold, so Mike's been kind enough to not completely give me pneumonia on the first day that I have it do. But let's get into it, huh? Let's do it. News and notes from around the league. All right. Now, we don't.

8:36 ↗

I'm sorry that we have to start the show with such a downer. But Andy and I are very vocal of our affiliation and our love for the Arizona Cardinals. The best team in football. Who have the best record in the NFL. We're 8 in 1, and Carson Palmer is no longer with us for the season. It sucks so bad, dude. It's, I mean...

9:06 ↗

I don't even know where to begin. We've lost so many good players. And now here we are without our quarterback. And all we want to do is convince ourselves that Drew Stanton can do it. And I think he's okay. It's really going to, it's up to the defense, just even more so. But I was actually thinking that, like, how can no one else is dealing with this? I'm like, the Philadelphia Eagles are dealing with the exact same situation. It's funny.

9:36 ↗

But Carson's out, so he's not on your roster. I'll tell you that. So that's the top of the news. At least we just paid him $50 million. A hot fantasy tip. You can drop Carson Palmer. Yeah. What a bummer, dude. He was playing so well. In case you haven't heard this anomaly. Carson Palmer back in 2005 or six, he signed a $100 million contract with the Bengals. The very next game.

10:05 ↗

He tore his ACL. Flash forward 2014. Carson Palmer signs a $50 million contract. The very next game, he tears his ACL. You just can't even explain something like that other than he knows how to secure his future very well. Yeah, it's a disappointment. Carson Palmer torn ACL. Another guy that went down with an ACL this week was Brandon Albert of Miami. Yeah, we don't usually get into those kinds of energy.

10:34 ↗

injuries but i thought it was that was a pretty it impacts the offense yeah that's a huge one uh because he's a he's a great left tackle yeah uh they paid him a lot of money too and the rookie who came in uh i don't i don't have the numbers are in front of me but they were not not good yeah um and my man tannan hill it could be in some trouble let's see what else we uh brandon marshall hurt his ankle in the blowout

11:00 ↗

Which, that is just the worst, watching a superstar player get injured for... He actually had a good fantasy game. He did. But for nothing, he says he's going to be fine and he'll play, a situation to monitor. Ronnie Hillman has a foot sprain or one of those weird things that they don't, they're never completely honest about. A couple games, right? That's what it's going to start at. Well, and the truth is, his relevance is gone.

11:29 ↗

That's what I think. I think his relevance as a fantasy guy is gone. C.J. Anderson had a monster game and then Monte Ball was expected back this week. But I was just saying that this looks exactly like one of those foot injuries where it's MJD and Darren McFad and where every week it just keeps you keep adding another week. So I would not count on him for the rest of the fantasy season. Reggie Bush tweaked his ankle, but I think he says he's okay. That's what the news is.

11:57 ↗

Yeah, he's been saying that though for about a month, so we'll see what the practice looks like this week. Another funny anomaly, he keeps hurting himself against his former teams. Oh, really? Wasn't it the Saints last time? Yeah. Oh, there you go. It's one way not to man up. What's going on with Sammy Watkins? He just, he had that groin injury all week, and he didn't have a very good fantasy game. He said he wasn't limited. He came out and said he was not limited in that game. His production was very limited, and we bring it up because he has a Thursday game.

12:27 ↗

So that is a situation you will want to monitor closely. Along with that, Lamar Miller, who also had a very poor fantasy game. He's playing on Thursday as well. He's got that AC joint problem. The Dolphins brought up Michael James off with a practice squad because they had a spot because Brandon Albert is I-R'd for the year. Running back situation in New York.

12:52 ↗

You saw a couple more guys go down. Peyton Hillis with a concussion. Michael Cox fractured his leg. He's gone for the year. And so they're talking about is Rashad Jennings back next game. I doubt it from what I'm hearing. Yeah, I'm really not sure what to think about that. And Andre Williams has been very disappointing. I agree. He just, he has a lot to. You got a goal line touchdown this fast week. He's been very disappointing. But of.

13:20 ↗

Of all the snaps I've watched, I think he had one catch where I thought he actually looked impressive. But aside from that, he's been disappointing. Delaney Walker, the Titans Titan, got a concussion? Titans Tighten. That's kind of funny. And then, ugh, my man, Alan Robinson. See you. I push him all the time. Goodbye. Fractured foot. He is out for the season that came out today.

13:47 ↗

And the other news worthy article we got, Adrian Peterson's situation has said that it will be resolved by the 22nd. So I don't think we should expect him this week, but week 12, it's very possible. Fantasy playoffs. That Peterson might come in here, which is exactly the kind of thing that people were talking about at the beginning of the year. I can't remember one of the huge...
