You laid it out there. That's why I take the running backs in the beginning of if they, as everyone could bust, the bust rate is, you know, not that drastically different between running backs and wide receivers. But if the running back hits in the first round, that's a much bigger advantage than the wide receiver hitting. All right.

News and notes from around the league presented by sleeper. All right, we got some stuff to talk about. Teddy Bridgewater has been named the starting quarterback for the Broncos in week one. So let's talk about it. Let's talk about the implications of this.
When we went back and kind of set up our rankings early in the offseason, I think I projected Drew Locke to start like the first three games and I thought Teddy would take over. They're going with Teddy from day one in Denver, which, look, I've watched and listened to a number of Broncos fans talk about this. It seems like most are excited about the opportunity for a change and something different to happen.
But how are you feeling? What was your reaction to this news? My reaction was positive. I think this is the right news for the Broncos. I think they're going to win more games with Teddy by not losing games. They've got a very good defense. They've got a lot of weapons around them. And while the upside, the potential of a supreme season, some sort of breakout from Drew Locke, a Super Bowl, you know, you get a Justin Herbert-like season and all of a sudden this team becomes a contender. That's the disappointment.
you know, the disappointing side for Broncos fans, but that wasn't going to happen anyways. Drew Locke was not going to do that. So this now makes it a good team that can compete. And specifically, I brought this up a few episodes ago, I think, in reaction to the preseason, Jerry Judy becomes more exciting to me. You look at how many uncatchable passes he had last year with Drew Locke, how open he regularly was, how...
He matches what Teddy does. Get the ball out on a good timing route, a guy that can create space, get open. And I think Jerry Judy, I did move him up in my rankings. I think he's better with Bridgewater than he would have been with Locke. Yeah, he's a player that you get the ball to, like you said, close to the line of scrimmage and he can make a play. And I think it's good for Noah Fant too. Now, following up, Noah Fant didn't practice on Wednesday. He has missed a couple of practices.
unspecified leg injury, not believed to be a long-term concern. He did deal with really lingering ankle injuries all last year. So I was curious that they didn't specify what the injury was. I was curious if this is that same ankle that he dealt with all last year or if it's, you know, right now it's leg. Right. His leg hurts. Like Billy Madison? Leg. Bridgewater had a 69% completion percentage last year, which is kind of wild. That's pretty nice.
Dan Campbell revealed that, oh, T.J. Hawkinson dealing with an AC joint issue in his shoulder. Well, that makes sense. You just talked about him as a breakout. Well, this was known. I mean, I knew this even when we were talking about the breakout. He has been gone for the last couple of weeks. And we knew that they were basically holding him out, saying that he's going to be ready for week one. Obviously, you would prefer for him to be healthy. But I don't think this is.
This might be new information for our audience, but it's been known for a couple weeks. It's also new to me. I was not aware of that. It's also the approach I would take if I were you, like just say you already knew about an injury for the players that you're hurting. Well, I did just do all the research on Hawkinson for the breakout episode. So in that is when I read that he was missing practice, but should be ready to go for week one.
Not to be outdone. Marvin Jones Jr. also has an AC joint sprain. He left after, what, like a play in the last preseason game? He played a few snaps, and he fell hard on the shoulder. And if you were watching the game, you're like, oh, Marvin has shook up. And then instead of pulling him out immediately, they're like, no, get to the line. Marvin Jones block. It's like, what are you doing? And use your AC joint when you do it. What are you doing? Let him out of the game. It's preseason.
Adam Troutman, Mike, expected to only miss one to three weeks. Okay. But the timeline could change after he visits a specialist on Thursday. You never like to hear that. No, it's not the best. You need a specialist if you don't know what's going on exactly. But it's still nice to hear one to three weeks that hopefully by the end of the season we see something from Troutman. Mike Williams returned to practice.
It seems like that's just every other day. He's returning. What, do we talk to Austin Echler on the show? Yeah. Great interview the other day. Austin Echler isn't. He gets it. He gets fantasy football. And he talked about Mike Williams. We were talking about how he falls so hard. And what did he bring up the milk?
Yeah, the milk crate challenge. Oh, man. Don't try that at home, kids. Yeah, that does not seem like a good decision. The risk reward of that is not aligned. Like back a few years ago, the hotness was like planking. Pretty safe. Now it's milk crate challenge. Plum it to your death and smash your face on a milk grate. Don't do it. Or if you succeed, you did do it. That's true. Huge reward.
You get to run around for a minute, screaming. But yes, Mike Williams is back. He still is a late round pick that I like taking a shot on. I know when we talked to us in Echler, he talked up Josh Palmer a little bit. Maybe he was even a better value because he's later in drafts. But man, if Herbert takes that step forward, there is an opportunity for a wide receiver two outside of Keenan Allen in this office. Yeah, no Hunter Henry. Right.
So Titans are placing Ryan Tannehill on the reserve COVID list. He will miss five to ten days. He is vaccinated, so he'll be in vaccinated protocol. But the team is dealing with some sort of outbreak. They're testing every day. Mike Grable's on the has COVID, I believe. I guess I don't want to. Yes, he tested positive. He was positive, right? So the team is, they've dealt with some COVID issues before and they're dealing with them again. Last year, they were the team that was, you know, egregiously.
causing like almost missed games. And so this is this is something to monitor. If more keep popping up over the next week. I saw they were at 90. Their team is at 97%. Oh, okay. So I don't expect this to be a long-term problem. And then the 49ers running back section of our news and notes, which is just part of it. Yeah. Rahim Moster reportedly left practice with what looked like apparent back pain and Trey Serman returned from an ankle injury.
So they have, they're about a round apart in fantasy drafts right now. Sermon's around behind Rahim Mostert. Still love the value on both of them, but, you know, they were both banged up. And we were, you know, recently talking, I don't know if it was in the mock or not, but we were talking about Moster and like you guys are both in. And this, I'm on the side of, I don't believe that players are necessarily, necessarily injury prone.
But this is part of my Rahim Mostert analysis is that we've, he played all 16 in 2019, but other than that, his entire career has been riddled with injuries. Well, we'll monitor whether it's serious or he's back at practice soon. That's all I have for today's news and notes presented by Sleeper, who just released their new web app, the Sleeper platform, always listening to feedback.
We had just made a suggestion about the draft cue that they were receptive to. Continued improvement you love to see it versus just, you know, the same old, same old. Laughing at the video, laughing at the fact you casually said the word anus related to a shark earlier in the show. What am I supposed to call it? There were so many other options. A butthole, Mike. I mean, come on. Anus is a little scientific round here. Oh, I apologize. Well, we're into the busts. We each, you know, in the UDK, we have our consensus bus picks. Today we're going to give a bust pick and a value pick on the show.
And we'll go ahead and let Mike shock the wall. Oh, goodness gracious. We're going to kick it off with Mike. All right. So let's start this off. Calling a bust is difficult because, I mean, it's, that's a very negative word. And you're implying that, like, this player is not good at football or, like, this, they're terrible. Like, I don't want anything to do with them. And this is, but this is fantasy football. So it's.
It's not just that this player is bad. There's a bunch of other things built into this. And like Kylo Ren said, I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it. Don't hate me because my bust is Julio Jones, superstar wide receiver, recently traded to the Tennessee Titans. And here is my reasoning. Yeah, it's a new, it's a new offense. It's a new O.C.
you know, in Tennessee, because Arthur Smith is down in Atlanta. But this is Mike Vrable's team. This is a run-first team. And all of Julio's success has been on a very pass-happy team with Matt Ryan. Last year, Ryan Tannenhill, if you take his passing attempts and extrapolate that out to 17 games, he would have only thrown the ball 511 times. And that was up from his pace of when he took over as a starter in 2019.
of 459. It's just not a high volume offense. Last year in games played, AJ Brown saw 23% of the targets, right? And he's still there. He is still a number one type of wide receiver. Corey Davis was at 20%. If you give Julio Jones only 20%,
