The AMA explains the hosts' personal trading styles and the League of Record's co-manager culture, including Papa Josh's reputation for overvaluing every player.
You could say Puka. Puka's problem is Stafford. You can make the argument. Although, Ty Simpson might help. You could make the argument for Amon Rao. Yep. You could make an argument for Jefferson. JSN? JSN. For sure. Um, we've got another keep trade cut. It's Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Weezer. Oh! So, we're just going to keep the dated. Oh, man. Pearl Jam's out of here. You don't like Pearl Jam? Not by comparison to the other two. I mean, the other two are great. You guys are, I feel like you both are, like, on another level with Weezer. Yes. Weezer's my easy keep here.
Yes. And first two albums only. Really. Weezer? Yeah. Oh, no. I got out. No, I know. It's the whole, uh, there's an SNL sketch about this. It's a great one. Which is awesome because it is. About Weezer in particular? It is so true of the Weezer fandom. You have people like me where it's not that I don't like the new stuff. I just. You don't like it. I fell out. Like, I wouldn't. You just didn't. I'm not buying every record. Uh, but the first two are, you're talking the Blue Album and Pinkerton are just our masterpieces. Um, and then I like Nirvana more than Pearl Jam, so.
Yeah. I guess I'll trade Nirvana. No, I'm pretty indifferent across the board here. Oh, man. Uh, none were my favorite bands. I guess I'd keep Nirvana, trade Pearl Jam, Cut Weezer. Not even the Green Album? Green Album's fine. Green Album's awesome. Green Album's where they started to lose me. Nah. YouTube question from Sawyer Brown. Has anybody crashed a golf cart and why was it Jason's fault? I will say I witnessed something on the course the other day. Uh-oh. Two weeks ago involving Al Borland and Jason. Oh, that was fun. Wait, were you two in a cart? We were. Let me just tell you my perspective for that.
Oh, no. Yes, Ted, describe the visual. Oh, yes. Oh, no. So I always hit my drive about 100 yards farther than these guys, so I'm always way further down the course. That's true. Let me start there. And then I'm out there looking. I'm sizing up my next shot, which was much closer than their next shot. You know what I mean? Because of the drive. And so I look back over my left shoulder and I see Jason Moore just oddly sprinting in the fairway. Sprinting as fast as I can. I can't sprint faster. He's falling on his feet. If you can fall while walking, he's doing that.
Yeah, the fall forward. And the reason. And he doesn't. It looks like he's just doing it. That's all Andy sees is me just sprinting faster than I have. I've sprinted in 20 years. Yes. But the reason is because. And I didn't know why. I was reaching for a ball that Jeremy wanted me to pick up while he was driving. And then he turned to the left and flung me out of the. And so I'm literally running at like I got launched off a golf cart speed. Unbelievable. He got tossed. This wasn't the catch up. This is you had. He. So he just missed you getting.
He just. Yes. He just saw. You're trying to stay. And I did. Oh my gosh. But all he sees me is just sprinting down. It was amazing. We've had some close calls. I will say that one of my favorite, if not my favorite thing to do at a golf course when you have carts, it's not a walking course, is the skid break. Oh, yeah. It is the only way to break a golf. If you're on a path and you don't have skid marks. You're not doing it to the green. You are. No, no, no, no, no, not on the grass.
But if you're not leaving a little skid mark on the cart path, you're you're breaking. And you're probably not accelerating. I think the funniest video we could have ever released for our first golf video would have been like breaking five or six golf faux pas. I mean, like first thing, Jason just drives right up on right up to the pin for my hops out, puts it in, leaves the pin out, moves on to the next hole. Got to walk through that sand trap first. You do. Yeah. He walks through the sand trap while you drive into it. You know, because my balls in there.
Oh, man. Yeah. I mean, there are some rules on that golf course, man. You better you better get with it. And there are curmudgeoning. Or there will be some old dudes that are the HOA president. You write out for that course. There are so many ironclad etched in stone rules that are listed nowhere. Correct. The only way to know these rules is you happen to know someone who knows the rules. Or you get told what you just broke. Did I tell my hitting a kid with a golf ball story on the show? I don't believe this. This is a good start.
So this was like two days ago. Hole one clears off. It's like a 278 yard hole one. There's nobody to be seen. I want to be very clear. There's some hills to the left side of the hole. I can't see anybody. We tee off. It seems appropriate. Yeah. So I tee off. And again, I hit my drives really far. It's just my thing. And I'm just watching Al to see his face. I can't argue with it. It's true. So I hit it. And of course, I didn't say I hit it straight. So it's off to the left. I get up there.
And my ball is basically on the edge of the tee box for hole two. Pin high. Because, you know, again, really good with distance. And I walk up there. And the guy, there's a dude. And he looks at me and he is 11 out of 10 upset. And he goes, you want to know where that ball actually landed? And I go, oh man, where? He goes, it hit my kid in the foot. And I go, holy crap. I go, I am so sorry. I can't see over here. The hills are here. I didn't know anybody was over here. And the kid goes, no, it didn't, dad.
Just an angry man. And then he goes, yeah, I landed by his foot. So the dude is trying to make me feel worse. Oh, man. You just got to hit him with it. So you're telling me I carried 270? Yeah. Shut up. But he was trying to get me to think I hit the kid. What a clown. I was like, I'm really sorry. He goes, Tim Warden. Yeah, but you could imagine what it would have been like if you did. There's only two. I can't believe you tried to make me think I hit him. What are you doing? There's only two type of people that I have seen on a golf course.
Cool, fun, chill people. Better out of golf. Or just upset, angry curmudgeons. It's like. Yeah. You're one or the other. Yeah, you're one or the other. And you can change day to day. That much we know to be very, very true. I know his whole one didn't go well. That's for sure. Oh, my goodness. Francisco said. Francisco. Why do you have co-managers in your main league? I feel like it would be more easy and more accomplishing to win the league by yourself. Oh, there's some good answers for this thing. First of all, they get no glory. Oh, absolutely. The glory is ours.
It's yours. We don't do. Well, sometimes the glory is the co-manager. Like Kyle fixing Jeremy's team or Matt fixing Josh's team. But again, Kyle got all the glory in that situation. That's true. Well, he was the main manager. You're right. Anyways, back to the question. It started. I mean, there was just no room. This is the League of Record, popular, fun, passionate. Popular. Well, my point is there's a waiting list. Like people want in the league. There are at least two to three people at any moment who want in this league. Over time. Now there's probably, you know, maybe three to four now.
No, there's 12. You basically have to be a co-manager. It's the most popular league. In order to get. Everybody talks about it. If someone leaves, you have to have been a co-manager for a number of years to get in now. Yeah. So that's what it's developed into. Bang your deuce. And I will say I was. It's a chance to be a part of the League of Records. So a lot of people jump in as co-managers and they get to come to the draft and they're friends of ours or my son is my co-manager and they have, I mean, at least the way my
team operates is I do what I please and tell them about it after to see if he liked it. I was very much on the, I'm not, I won't have a co-manager. I'm going to win. I will take all the glory. When I win, it was me. But now that I've had a couple of different co's and Kyle's my co-manager at League of Records, it's just fun. And it's another person when you're in the draft, you can actually talk to somebody. Draft day is the biggest advantage of it is you just have like somebody at your table. Draft day or you have, you know, a good co-manager should be, you kind of just.
The idea man. You or woman. You have some ideas and also clean up, like check the, I co-managed with Jason in the Dynasty Junior League. Mm-hmm. And so it's like every once in a while, I'll just peek at the waiver wire or Sunday morning. I'll have it in my process of like just double checking that that league is good. I'm not. You bring things to my attention. You say, hey. I'm not trying to run the whole team. Do we want to go look at this? Do we want to make this swap? And it's just, it's actually really fun and really nice to have someone to talk to because
a, you know, we have a saying in fantasy football, no one cares about your fantasy football team. Right. No one cares about your team. It's like listening to people's dreams. You know what I mean? It's like, I don't care. I want to dream last night. They seem so important to you. And when you have a co, someone actually cares about your league and it's nice. It is. It actually amplifies the fun. It really does. All right. Our final AMA question of the day from Haley. Oh, Haley Comets. Comments. Haley Comets. Nice. That's a funny name. Listener of the week. What is your ideal retirement lifestyle look like?
It's changed recently. It's changed because right now my retirement life. You're really, really changed. I went full 180. I want to live on a golf course and a little country club. What was it before the golf course? Um, I think it would have been be able to retire young. Is it a beach? Vacation a lot. Yeah. And probably audition for things that I just want to. Oh, that's fun. That's kind of cool. I know you got rid of that for golf. Yeah. Now it's just wake up. Make the senior tour. Go to the clubhouse. Hang out there all day. Get some rounds of golf in.
Your country club life does seem like it could be pretty cool. I want travel and island life. Yeah. My wife. So we visited. Just chill, man. Maui for the first time a couple years ago, which we had a great time. And then she's like, because we've gotten into golf and it's boiling hot out. She's like, I bet you'd really love to live there now because of the 365 golfing. Yes. Which is not. That's why people do love Arizona. We don't realize it. Well, because we never have like courses shut down for five months due to snow. But it is someplace.
They should be shut down. Yeah. They keep them open when it's 110. I just saw some. So we did. We made a horrible mistake a few weeks ago. We played 18 holes in the morning. Some clouds came out briefly. And then we're like, let's play 18 more. And so I just saw some people, local friends of mine that just did that. And they all had to get IVs afterwards. Which I think you guys. We needed. You and Jeremy at least needed those on that day. Myself too. It was just too hot. But again, would you rather golf in a hot climate or not golf at all, Jason?
Probably not golf. I mean, it gets really hot. You did turn down an invite this morning. So that'll do it for today's episode of the show. A little fantasy footballers AMA while we're out vacationing with our families. Getting primed up for July. Oh, baby. Five shows a week in August. Draft season. Training camp. It's all on the way.
