Football, football, football, football. Are you ready for fun football? We should just make noises the whole time. I feel like there is some unable to understand like oratory blurg that I can send out there that just expresses. Yeah, like that. That expresses the joy and excitement that we have for the football season. That also sounded like vomit. I apologize. I had nothing to do with what I was saying.
You had a bad burrito this morning. Never. Welcome to the show. This is the fantasy footballers podcast, and for goodness sakes, we've really got football to talk about tonight. Hello! Welcome to the show, Jason Moore, Mike, the Fantasy Hitman Wright. I'm Andy Holloway. We are here again.
We've got matchups that we're going to preview today, give you the fantasy forecast for the weekend. We're going to cover about half the games, maybe a little bit more than that. We've got news and notes. We've got the Thursday night football preview. We've got starts of the week tomorrow. We have your two-day blitz. We've got it all, apparently. We do. And I am super excited. We're going to have some people over tonight, watch the game. I'm sure we'll be tweeting everybody at the FF ballers or on our own accounts at Andy Holloway.
At FF Hitman for Mike, at Jason FFL for Jason. That's convenient. It's time. It's time for football. Let me ask you. Quick question. Totally arbitrary question. I mean, I had 100 I could choose from. I went with this one. Hey, Mike. This is just for Mike. Sorry. This isn't for you, Jason. Oh, all right. This is a quick question just for Mike. Who are you starting in week one? Joy, Bel, or Amir Abdullah? Joyick Bell. Joy, Bell.
He answered it quickly. We discussed this a little before the show. Because this does not contradict anything that I've said. Would you mind giving me just so I can go back and listen to this? Would you mind saying it like this? Say, I am starting joick bell this week over Amir Abdullah. I am starting joick bell week one.
over Amir Abdullah. That's all I wanted to hear. It would have been so... You're smart to add the week one in. Andy could have chopped that up and used it everywhere. This is week one and I'll tell you this. It is far closer in PPR. In PPR, it could go either way. But standard under the roll bill. Okay, okay. Follow-up question. Jason, I like this one. Amir Abdullah or Danny Woodhead, week one. Danny Woodhead. Really? Yeah, I think so.
That's a really tough call that I'm making personally in a bunch of leagues. Oh, I'm asked that question a ton. People have both those guys. I have been telling them. I have Amir Abdullah ahead of Danny Woodhead, according to my rankings. I have been telling people Amir Abdullah. And I can tell you why. Well, I'm going to tell you, because I just looked at my rankings. I have Amir Abdullah ahead of Joach Bell by, because we stat, we stat our rankings, 11.4 to 11.6. Oh. So it's close. But I've got Abdullah ahead both.
I've been telling people Abdullah over Woodhead simply for the increased potential for between the tackle work. You know, Abdullah will get carries. I think Woodhead will get a couple. But I like Abdullah a little bit more from that perspective. I think the matchup, I mean, they're playing each other, right?
Yeah, that is correct. To me, the matchup's a little better for Abdullah. I like both guys. I'm fine with both being flex plays this week, believe it or not. The reason I might lean Woodhead is because that Lions defense, at least last year, we're coming into, it's a fresh year, everything can change, but that's all we have to go off of right now. But the Lions defense was the best in the league. And what does that say to me? That says Danny Woodhead's going to get the dumps, if you know what I mean.
Talk about bad burritos. Oh, it's true. It's true. I'm glad we could discuss the joick bell stuff. I mean, some news. We'll talk about it in the news section. I can't wait to ask Andy the quick question in week four.
Oh, yeah. Oh, I can't wait either, guys. I have no problem. I've been slow playing this for a long time with full confidence. I'm still confident. All the reports about Joyc are fine. I love Amir Abdullah. He's this hyper-talented guy, and I'd rather have Joyc Bell on my team. All right. More about the show. Of course I saw the Apple stuff. The gigantic iPad. Yeah, that looks pretty sweet. I thought it was another accessory for my arm.
I'm going to put a watch band on that thing. Oh, I thought you're going to put a gigantic iPad on your arm. That's what I meant. Oh, okay. I'm going to strap it to my arm and it's being like my eyewatch. You could be the fantasy robot. Also a workout device at the same time. Wow. Yes, impressive. All right. Any other things going on before we get into the news today? Football, football. All right. News and notes from around the league.
Give me that sound for week one again. What was that? It was like, that's my feeling as well. That's a, actually, that's a character from World of Warcraft. Oh, was that a Merlock? It was. Oh. All right.
Back to football. Alshan Jeffrey, he is a popular question we're receiving all the time. I'd love to say we have insight to the mysteries of the Chicago Bears. However, we kind of do now because Alshan was on the field in a limited capacity for the first time in a month. Optimism.
Super good news, I think, because there were the fears of the fact that it was preseason football and what the Bears did with Kevin White News and just holding on to not saying anything about an injury that was more serious. Now he's playing, so we know it's nothing where he's going to miss the first month of the season, right? Or he wouldn't be on the globe. Yeah, unless he re-injures himself.
Sorry, I was reading some breaking Amir Abdullah news. Oh, really? Did you write it yourself? I did not write it. Are you changing your quick question? The Lions OC, Joel Lombardi says Amir Abdullah will be utilized extensively in the passing game. Actually, I was reading this morning that the perception for his receding skills have been better than Bush's, is what they've said. They said he's been better than Reggie Bush in the passing game. Who outscored whom?
I don't know if I grammatically said that correctly, but Reggie Bush versus Joyck Bell, how did that go? When they were in the game, Reggie Bush. Last year, Joyc Bell was the 14th best running back. In the year before that one, Bush played the entire year. What are you guys making of the Colts? That's what I thought. What are you guys making of the Colts news here? Frank Gore, they said he'll be on a pitch count. I don't want to overread into this. We know what that means. That means the Colts are going to be in the playoffs. We know they're going to be in the playoffs. And they want Frank Gore to be fresh. Let's think historically.
There have been teams that have said this type of thing before. Does it happen? I mean, all teams want to have their running back fresh in the playoffs, and yet you still realize you must get there, and he is the only show in town, not named Josh Robinson anymore, and they're a very good team. But, I mean, how much are you expecting Gore to...
Be limited. The pitch count only matters depending on what the pitch. Now, you know what that means, right? That's a baseball reference. Right. So that's the bat. Yeah, what is baseball have to do with anything? My point is. Is Frank Gore throwing the ball? I was going to say, I don't think he's going to be throwing the ball at all, so I don't worry about this. His pitch count is zero. But seriously, I went back and looked at my statting for him worried maybe I had him too high. I only had him getting 15 carries. You know, they're not going to.
pitch count him or running count him at 10 carries. So, you know, I think if, what would you say his pitch count would be according to the Colts? What, like 15 or 20? Here's what I think it means. It means that when they're ahead in games, which they will be, and far ahead, they might give more opportunities to the young guy to come in and finish those games out because they just don't have a need to have going on the field. That would be the implication. And so that's a week-to-week thing.
That being said, I'm being asked Gore-Ingram, Gore-Ir, a lot this week, because Gore is facing Buffalo and that defense, and we'll preview those games. But that's something keeping your mind because most of the time, like I like ivory a lot this week, I've been saying, hey, I'm a little more hesitant on Gore if you have ivory. Yeah, I can agree with that. The Browns were horrendous against the run. All right, a couple more bits of, well, there's an injury tidbit out of Saints camp. CJ Spiller has been declared out.
So you won't get to see that debut on Sunday. Lions Camp, Joyke Bell, full practice. He is not marked on the injury report at all. Reporters have said he looks incredible. I reported that. Dallas Cowboys Camp, DMC likely to start. Huh. Well, don't hon that. I mean, the head coach came out and said literally it doesn't matter who he put as the starter. Oh, Jason Gere, I don't care what he has to say. But you, hum me? Yeah.
Joseph Randall support. Okay. Joseph Randall D.M.C. carries this week in Waterbet. You want it. Drew McFadden has more? Yeah. Let's do it. I'll bet that Joseph Randall has more. Let's do it. Waterbet. Put it on the board. I'm not getting in on that, but I think Andy's going to win. Eat it. All right. Philly camp. Zach Ertz is a game time decision. He is on waivers in a couple of my leagues. Have we fallen all the way down the hill with Zach Ertz? I mean, are we at the bottom now? I mean...
It went from a month ago, all the potential in the world. This is the Chip Kelly offense. This is the Zach Ertz breakout season, and now he's on waivers in a bunch of my leagues, and I haven't signed him. That's probably where he should be. You still don't know that he's going to play. And then when he does play, his snap count's probably going to be similar to last year, especially to start the year. Now, if he plays and he plays all right, he's definitely worth picking up and dropping probably whoever you have if you're looking at tight-ins on the waiver. Yeah, okay. So let me hit this button for this guy here.
