subject of lots of hype and discussion last off season, says he's going to be, quote, critical to success for the team's offense. Last year, Curtis Samuel ran the most routes in the NFL, eighth most deep targets, 11th most air yards, 105th catchable target rate. Those two things shouldn't go together. When you're running that much. Post-hyped sleeper, that's a real deal, right? No, it 100% is. Unfortunately, it's hard to really know what to do with Curtis Samuel. I think the player is.

Very good. What's his actual situation, though? The Panthers brought in free agent Robbie Anderson. Does that move Curtis Samuel down to three, maybe even four, because Christian McCaffrey is on the team as well. And going deep, not necessarily Teddy Bridgewater's go-to move. Not that he can't. It's like Alex Smith could do it, but he didn't love doing it. Yeah, not that he can't. And Bridgewater is a very accurate quarterback.

We'll see. And then there was like weird rumors of him being traded. I mean, those kind of vanished as quickly as they started. But you don't have to pay anything in your fantasy drafts to take a shot at Curtis Samuel. So it's not impossible. Not impossible. Yeah. It's a tough situation to predict with the new offense there in Carolina. Yes. All right. Any other thoughts? Any other news you guys want to talk about? Nope. All right. Let's do it.

It's not about consistency. The art does what the art has to do. Great, great. That's such a great response because you can't, you can't critique art, right? I mean, you can't, but it's all subjective. Art does what the art wants to do. I am the vessel. Oh, I can't handle it. I can't take it. Okay, well, let's talk sleepers.

If you have the ultimate draft kit, obviously we have a bunch of consensus sleepers inside of that wonderful resource. But today we are picking out, much like we did last week with our, what, breakouts and busts. We are talking sleepers and values, and we're each picking one of our own today to talk about. Some other players that we want to surface to you, the Foot Clan, get you ready for the upcoming season. Do I have a volunteer that wants to kick this thing off?

I will kick it off. All right. All right. I am excited to talk about this deep sleeper, certainly not someone that I think people are expecting to do big, great things. But that's the definition of a sleeper, someone that is basically late or even undrafted that has an opportunity, has a pathway to really surprise and be fantasy relevant. My sleeper that I want to bring up is Boston Scott running back for the Philadelphia Eagles. That's a deep cut.

It is a deep cut, but let me try to convince you guys that he's worth a shot even in a redraft league at the end of your drafts. Right now, he's, you know, pretty much undrafted. He's running back 50, 135th off the board. Philadelphia, he's a pass catching back. Bostis got a little guy, 57197 coming out of college. He was that Darren Sproles comp. Philadelphia has... I got something for you. I got something for you. Hold on.

Great Scott. Yes. Yes. That is fantastic. Well done. I am very happy to have that. I will make sure that that drop. Just in case he does something, Mike. We've got it ready. I like it. But look, Philadelphia has the ninth most vacated targets, eight and a half per game, which seems surprising. They lost a couple ancillary pieces. Most of that was Nelson Aguilar who's gone. And yes, that's addition by subtraction. But the point is he benefited.

Boston Scott did last year at the end of the year when there was a bunch of wide receiver injuries and they needed to find someone to catch the ball, move the offense, and Boston Scott came in and got the job done. And if you look now this year, Alshan Jeffrey's injured. Deshaun Jackson is older. Jalen Rager coming in is like, now people are saying, well, he's just going to be learning the Deshaun Jackson role. Maybe he's the backup for that inevitable injury.

The point is Boston Scott's opportunity here is actually pretty good because they do need to find more ways to involve players in the passing game. And they did not bring in a veteran back to this point yet. But that's been a big contention of the, you know, we talk all this Miles Sanders. Is he going to be the guy? Is he not? Well, it's all a matter of whether they bring in a vet. Bosset Scott's sitting there going, look.

I was pretty good at the end of the year. He was like their offensive MVP over the last month or, you know, certainly the last game of the year. Doug Peterson uses a committee approach, okay, with the RB1 and RB2 both being relevant in fantasy. We saw that last year when Jordan Howard was doing well and Miles Sanders was still involved. In 2016, his running back two actually finished higher in fantasy than his RB1, and that running back was Darren Sprouls. Darren Sproles is the comp for Boston Scott.

The Saints drafted Boston Scott to replace Darren Sproles. And then the Eagles went and signed him off of their practice squad to replace Darren Sprouls. He's literally trying to be that mold. And then he comes in and in the final month of last year, he was Darren Sprouls. He was the running back nine through that month. And that was while Miles Sanders.

Was the running back seven? Both guys on the field, both being great. And here's the best part is that Scott. Yes. Look, he averaged 6.3 targets a game and never fewer than six during that last month, which would be 100 target pace. I'm not saying that's happening, but that is he showed that he is a weapon. But you are going to say it. No, no, no. I'm not saying he's on pace for 100 targets in 2020. I'm saying that.

He proved to the team, like beat writers right now, they're saying that Boston Scott's a secret weapon. He's not fighting for a roster spot. He's fighting for more touches. He's locked in to an important role in the offense. So my point is you've got a committee back, a committee coach, a really capable guy who showed he can do it. If you're in a PPR league, I mean, even when he had, you know, in that last month, he had one game where he totaled 19 yards.

Still had six receptions. You know, he would have ended up with eight points, and that was a complete bust game for him. So if you're in a PPR league, I think Boston Scott's a name you need to know and consider. Did you see the comments from Doug Peterson on the veteran running back situation? About how they, they feel like they missed out? Yeah, I don't have the quote in front of me, but where they basically, you know, had their chance to sign a veteran and missed. Yeah, that that veteran went somewhere else. So it.

almost certainly is Carlos Hyde, who he's referring to. He didn't say him by name, but obviously Carlos Hyde was rumored to go to the Eagles and then went and signed with the Seahawks. Would you delete your paragraph if they signed a veteran, or would you maintain the sleeper status of Great Scott? If they were to go out and sign Devonta Freeman, who was a very good pass catching back, then Boss and Scott would not be on my sleeper list. Outside of him...

maybe Lamar Miller, you know, if outside of those two, I don't think there's another veteran that would come in and take over the past catching role that I think Boston Scott's, you know, they're going into this season with him as that role, that scat back. All right. I'm going to bring up Michael Pittman Jr. as my sleeper selection on today's show. Right now he's being drafted as the, oh my, I didn't even realize this. The wide receiver.

And if you don't know who he is, rookie wide receiver Indianapolis Colts comes into a situation there with T.Y. Hilton on the other side and an opportunity for Michael Pittman Jr. to be the wide receiver too on this team. A couple of things worth noting on the hype train I'm going to try to build for Michael Pittman. One, Frank Reich absolutely adores this kid. He's a contested catch master. If you look at Matt Harmon's reception, a lot of hype.

He's a big guy. He can come down with the ball in the red zone. Last year you had, you know, being drafted at wide receiver 55, I think is interesting because last year you had four rookies finish inside the top 35 at the wide receiver position. A.J. Brown was 15th. McLaren was 27. Metcalf was 32. Slaten was 35. Pittman is being drafted well beyond any of those guys. And I think he's almost guaranteed to be one of the best contributing rookie wide receivers on this team.

I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but T.Y. Hilton's contract, as of today, it's expiring after this year. So Michael Pittman could be groomed to be their wide receiver one for years to come. And you have Philip Rivers in the back field now at quarterback. And last year, the fourth most deep attempts in the NFL, we've seen what he's done with a very similar player. In my opinion, I think Michael Pittman and Mike Williams. Yeah, it's a fair comp. Are very similar.

Right now, just where he's being drafted, and I don't know how you guys feel about Pittman. I think I think you like him. Oh, yeah, I love Michael. But I think he's just a value right now in drafts. And he'll probably rise if we see in camp that he's earning that wide receiver two spot. But such an impressive career at USC. Yeah, I like Michael Pittman. The situation does seem pretty fantastic for him. I'm not going to completely write off Paris Campbell.

He was a second round pick by the Colts last year. And like in Paris Campbell, even when you're talking about a sleeper, he is at least interesting to me because he projects to, you know, be a slot-wide receiver. Take those, take the shorter routes that we're all projecting a bump for for Naim Hines in the passing game. Paris Campbell certainly could be a player who sees a huge bump considering. Yeah, we shouldn't forget about him. He did absolutely nothing last year.

But yeah, I like Pittman as the... He's their Debo. He could be their... He could be the just an absolute touchdown guy, like Mike Williams that year where he had the 10 touchdowns and not very many yards. Well, and his name is Mike as well. Oh! So, I mean, that's all you need. It's a great name. Decent. All right. I'm going to give everyone a break for me talking about Antonio Gibson.

But he is. I'm warming on him, Mike. Yes. I very much. On Antonio Gibson or on the player he's about to. No, no, Antonio Gibson. We just got to give him the obligatory shout out. But I wanted to chime in and say, I'm starting to, I'm starting to look for tickets. Look, all are welcome. And all are welcome on the Antonio Gibson hype train. I just happen to have a first class seat. Like, I'm in the front of the train. Yeah, because first class on the Redskins plane is where you want to be.

Between McLaren and Gibson, you do have to realize that this offense has to be somewhere. It's going to work. That's the best argument I've heard. The Carolina Panthers last year with Kyle Allen had DJ Moore and Christian McCaffrey both verifiable for fantasy purposes. Washington could get it done. It can support those two players. But no, the name, I wanted to go a bit deeper here. And this one, like Boston Scott, this is a very deep cut, but I wanted to bring up the name.
