Fantasy Football Podcast for Week 3/4

They run a lot of plays. They score a lot of points. So I like Jordan Matthews. Man. Now some of the other names of guys that have been pretty good so far are on by this week. So names like John Brown and Brian Quick are guys that you could snag but also aren't good to start for you this week. You better have a spot. Right. Because they're not instantly impactful for you. Yeah. So what are your thoughts on?

Alan Robinson. Oh, probably in line with the rest of my thoughts on Jacksonville in general. I do think that his, he gets a bump up. You know, he started this past week. The staff likes him, and Bortles is coming into play. And Target Monster. Yeah, yeah, they like him there. He was a 7 for 79 last week. We'll have to see the progress of, you know, shorts scored as well.

And I'm just not too excited about that passing offense because I think you're going to get into a situation where Bortals might provide a little bit of a spark, but at the same time, he's a rookie, and he's coming into San Diego this next week. So I don't think Alan Robinson is the guy that you necessarily need to stash right now. Now, for me, I like targets. Targets. Right, for sure. And I think it's the Bordle's show now. He's in.

even though they didn't want to play him, and he forced portals to come in. And so I would not overlook Alan Robinson. I wouldn't go crazy. I just think you're going to see a rotation between him and Hernes and shorts in relevance. And leave when he comes back. Yeah, I mean, because Robinson had seven catches. Hearns, he didn't do much. He only scored a touchdown.

63-yarder, but he scored a touchdown. It seems to be what he does. So, yeah, Jacksonville is a scary, scary place. I'm looking at, and Toby. Yeah, I think out of those guys, he's the guy. And Toby Gerhardt owners, the don't jump off the ledge just yet, I think Bortles is going to, maybe not significantly, but he'll at least increase the value of Gerhardt. I'm just looking at this list of guys I'd say cousins or Rivers. Oh, Cousins or Rivers? I got a little distracted, okay? Rivers was a stud again this week. I'd still take Rivers. Yeah, okay. All right, well, at quarterback, anybody else, not really anybody worth starting in a 12-to-14 team league. No.

A couple guys coming into, you know, Eli Manning had a better week, and Mike Glennon's taking over that role. With him, you have Bridgewater taking over. The rookies are coming into play now, right? Yeah. Bridgewater and Castle broke his foot or his ankle or something. He's done. Probably to the joy of all of that. I don't know. We'll see on Bridgewater. Yeah. So, cool. That's your waiver wire. Let's talk streamers real quick. Oh, for defense? Yeah.

All right, so you need a defense to start this week. Who's your top four? The top four guys who I like that I think should be available. Number one is the Chargers. You have to play the Chargers if they're there. They're playing that awesome Jaguar offense. Then the other three I like dolphins, lions, and Bills. All right. So there's some streamers for you if you need a defense to start. We could talk really quickly, philosophically on defenses. I have seen this happen more and more this year than I have other years.

The teams that have one of the top five or six defenses in the league, Seattle, right? Cincinnati, Carolina, San Francisco, these guys that are perennial good defenses, I've seen those teams in fantasy football get, pay the price for not streaming defenses more than ever. Oh, they think their defense is matchup. Well, or they don't want to drop them. And so they play, yeah, matchup proof.

You play Seattle, you play Carolina. I mean, if you played Carolina's D this last week, you got negative eight. Now, I'm not saying that was a perfectly easy thing to see against Pittsburgh. But I have seen, I mean, Seattle a couple weeks ago, negative three against San Diego. I just sometimes think that it's better to take a defense that's playing a poor offense if it's a middle of the road defense and stream it than it is to be stuck with, I mean, am I off here? Is you completely disagree? I ride the stream.

Yeah, I mean almost every single one of my weeks. And what that takes is not being a lazy fantasy owner. Which means you have to sign guys every week. You do. Well, if you want to win, you're going to do that. If you don't want to win, you can play, you know, San Francisco's D and ignore the fact that they're a dumpster fire right now. So let's move on. being proposed that question. So yes, I think Terrence West's value is on the way out in terms of startability. He's got a buy this week, as does West Walker. But Terrence West is going to be part of a committee in Cleveland starting in week five. Ben Tate's returning. Crowell ran better than Terrence West this past week. And so if I was in that situation and I needed a wide receiver, yeah, I'd take a chance on West Walker and I'd pull the trigger on that trade and kind of cash in on the

the Terrence West value. I agree. I would move West. I think he's going into a three-person timeshare. And I don't know, West Welker, as long as he doesn't get hit in the head, he's going to have tremendous value. Yeah. Let me ask you this question here. This is an interesting one because of the names involved. Would you drop Larry Fitzgerald for like drop to waiver wire? For Brian Quick. Would you make that change? Oh.

Larry Fitzgerald had another very poor week. I would not. You're not bailing that. We're talking real strategy. No, there's no way I would drop him. I would try and package Larry. You're saying don't lose the name value of Larry Fitzgerald. Someone will still trade for him if you're including something else with him. But if we're talking, these are the only options. Drop Larry to pick up quick. I'm still not doing it.

Okay. What else do we have? A, so a trade question. A trade question. All right. The up-and-comer who's been labeled as Gronkian by some Travis Kelsey and tied in for the chiefs. So would you trade Kelsey and Mike Evans for Keenan Allen? Would I trade Kelsey and Evans for Keenan Allen? Allen's off to a slow start. Yes.

Which is why I think the only reason why this trade could be looked at. Yeah, if you're not starting Kelsey, this is a fine trade for me. I actually would be on board for that. I think this is probably a good time to buy Alan. He was one of my potential start of the weeks this week, actually, as San Diego faces Jacksonville at home. And Alan's had some tough matchups. He's gone up against the Seattle and Arizona defenses, which are...

stellar and stout, and at a minimum, don't give up a lot of points. So I think this is the week that Alan breaks out. So, yeah, if you had these assets, I would definitely unload them for Keenan Allen. Now, I want Kelsey and Evans on my team. I think Kelsey... So you would not do this, no, I would not. I think Kelsey is, I believe he's... I'm joking. I believe he's on the way up. His snaps are increasing. Andy reads...

I think he's a smart guy. He knows he has to get him in there. He's got to figure out a way to scheme and do it. And oddly enough, I think Mike Evans' value is about to go up with Mike Glennon coming in. It's possible, but I think, yeah, I mean, that's an upside versus, you know, by low opportunity. Right. So, yeah, that's some good thoughts. Let me ask you this question. A lot of people are in this situation.

They have a player called Adrian Peterson. Maybe you've heard of him. Yeah. I'm in there. If you're in a league that doesn't have, you know, he's on suspended right now. Correct. And so he's taking up a bench spot for a lot of teams, and those are valuable, especially as injuries come, as bi-weeks come. Would you drop Adrian Peterson?

I mean, I know I'm asking you this. You have Adrian Peterson in a league or two. Our league is a little different because ours is a keeper league. If you're in a keeper league, you do not drop Adrian Peterson. Yeah, if you're in a redraft league, which most people are, would you drop Adrian Peterson or would you hold out? If I'm in a redraft league, let's say, five, maybe six bench spots, I'm going to hold him at least one more week with all this, with the...

The whispers in the wind of his legal team pushing for expedited trial, maybe he takes a plea bargain, and then he gets a, we don't know then what his suspension looks at. Is his suspension automatically six games? Are the two games that he's already missed taken into account, and then he gets a four-game suspension? So I would still wait on Adrian Peterson. He's just too good. Yeah, that's tough.

I think it really just is going to depend on the makeup of that person's team. If they're pretty desperate for that spot, I don't blame me for dropping him. But that's tough to do. That's just really hard. Let's say your team is, you're an above-average team. You're 2-1, maybe you're 3-0, and someone drops Peterson. I'm picking him up. Yeah, because you want the potential to... You can absorb a couple losses.

and then if Peterson comes back, I mean, you're looking at being a team that maybe you drafted Lynch in the first or second round, whatever, whenever you got him, and you're looking at Lynch and Adrian Peterson, or maybe you're a remarkable murder owner. I know that they want him back. I just, from what I'm reading, he doesn't, I don't think he understands the legal process that's taking place, and he will receive punishment from the league, and I think that's the issue that's in hand here.

He, let's say he somehow, his legal team is able to force an expedited trial. You're saying he's exonerated. Yeah. Let's say that takes a month. I mean, I still think he's, I still think he'll face punishment from the league. And I hate to say that because, but the league is not paying mine to due process in its entirety. It's going to pay mine to its image and to what takes place with his players. Yeah, it's possible. But yeah, yeah, that's a tough question. I think, I think it really depends on your team.

All right, let's go one more trade question. Okay. Drew Breeze and Marquise Colston for Captain Kirk and Jeremy Macklin. Drew Breeze and Marquis Colston for Kirk Cousins and Jeremy Maclin.
