It was a perfect volume. You are a late night news anchor with that voice. It is always funny how they have the news. Why did we decide that was the voice? I don't know. That's a good question. I mean, we established. Why do we wear ties, Mike? I mean, I've been asking that question for a long time. Those things are ridiculous. I do not understand. Hey, you know, it'll make you look real good. Tie this thing around your neck so you feel kind of like you're choking.

And that was the uniform so that you can be uniform. And have it pointing downwards. Look, there's a lot of questions that we don't have time to answer here today. But we will answer some. So we get into some very interesting names on our early consensus rankings.

episodes. And so I think there'll be some debates today. And maybe Mike, you can talk me into actually trusting some wide receiver twos on today's show. You got to do it eventually. Which is what I call all the starting wide receivers for like the Bears and stuff like that. That's actually nice of you to say that. Byron Pringle's like, oh, all right. But I'm a real boy.

We have a couple of big announcements. Are we getting into them? We're getting into them. Get the trumpet out. So the first big announcement is, and you might have seen it on our social media, we posted it yesterday, but we will be back with the party room. What am I talking about? Last year, we were on Spotify Green Room with live shows each and every week.

And we are back for three more years with Spotify Live. That is what it is now called. They've changed the name from Spotify Green Room to Spotify Live. and I understand why, is are you only going to be on Spotify now? Nope. And that's not the case. We're actually the first ad sales deal with Spotify that has ever been non-exclusive. So you appropriately have wondered that because a lot of the deals that they've done in the past, it has been pulling all of the resources just onto the Spotify app and that's exclusive to the platform.

That was so important to us as we navigated where we were going to work and with what partners because this show is about the audience. I mean, this show is about you, the fantasy player. But we got some big, big news to talk about. News and notes from around the league. Oh, man. It's that Debo drama. Brooks, we got Debo drama. Yes, we do. What? What is happening in the NFL? I don't.

No. But I love it. I love it. It's very exciting. Jeff Darlington spoke to Debo Samuel, reporting from ESPN. He has told the 49ers he would like to be traded. The 49ers from what is being reported have made many efforts to extend Debo Samuel. He has been unwilling to engage in those offers.

So maybe money's not the root of the issue. Correct. There could be issues with how he's being used. And I started to think about this right before the show. Like why, Debo, why would you, you're utilized by an offensive genius, Kyle Shanahan. But how do contracts work in the NFL? And I started thinking, well, you know, tight ends that are used like wide receivers get paid tight in money. Correct.

And so I'm wondering if this whole, you got to be our running back because all of our running backs are hurt. You expose Debo to more long-term physical harm. Yes, you do. And you reduce the numbers that he would get paid as a wide receiver. So I wonder how much. And then you do have a transition to quarterback. Now, I'm not going to go as far as to say Debo is running away from Trey Lance. Right. But he totally might be.

But this is a humongous story because he was one of the best fantasy players, which you can join Tyreek Hill and Devante Adams, who have changed teams. And here's Debo. And it seems like he's not going to be back with the 49ers. Yeah, you have a clear shift last year when it happened. From Weeks 1 through 8, he saw 80 targets. And in that time, he saw six carries.

Then the San Francisco 49ers, like, well, we need you. We need a man back there. And then from week nine on, 80 carries and 53 targets. Now, I know that players want to play and they want, you know, they want the ball on their hands. But if you are a wide receiver and you had 80 targets over the first eight weeks and then that...

number has to drop down to 53 because you're getting 80 carries and you are destroying your body to do so. I, perhaps he doesn't really want to do that because as you said, Andy, money is not the problem. And imagine being that, imagine being Debo Samuel right now. And I'm sure San Francisco, I would think that their contracts are fair. Like they're trying to give him a lot of money. And he's saying, no.

Like, someone is walking up to you with a piece of paper and says, if you sign this, you will inherit generational wealth for, like, that will be passed down for ages. You'll, it'd be really difficult to spend this amount of money. And he's saying, nah, man, I'm good. I'd like to go somewhere else. And what he's really saying is your money is no good to me, but their money will be. Right, of course. Because Tyreek had the same story, right? He knew he was getting the bag. Devante, they offered him a contract.

Devante Adams ends up getting it from the Raiders. And this is so, like the implications of this potential move are vast. Like, and by the time you're listening to this, maybe something else has happened in this story, but, you know, the 49ers are not going to be better without Debo Samuel. Brandon Ayuk's going to be thrust into a role that, you know, one season he seemed okay to handle it and the other season he didn't. You're going to have a new quarterback. You're going to have George Kiddle hype start to grow if Debo's out of there.

running back room. There's going to be, you know, and what do they do in the draft? They don't have a draft pick for a long time, but they might have some draft picks if Debo gets moved. And are they another destination for a wide receiver in that situation? They would have to. They would absolutely have to do that. I'm trying to pull up. What picks do they actually? I feel like they're in the 50s. Their first pick is in the 50s. 60s. So round one, they have no pick because they trade it up for their backup quarterback.

And then they're in they have a seconds and two thirds. So at 61, there's potential that an interesting wide receiver is there if they somehow don't get a first. But whoever trades for Debo will have to pay up because he's still very young. Two more things, Mike. One, I want to make a prediction on where you think he might end up. Obviously money is going to play a big part of that.
