All right guys, you want to get into our sits? Do I? Sets of the Whig.
I have to personally... I have to personally apologize. That is my fault for not fixing that. The dirty drop. Just leave it in there forever. I want my thumbprint all over the sits of the week, especially with what you did with Russell Wilson last week. You're going to live that one down? No. When you say to sit a guy down and he has his career day, then... How do you feel? How do you feel in the inside? I feel pretty, pretty bad. Yeah. Well, I'm going to show you how to really sit Russell Wilson.
Just in case you're curious. I'll kick it off. Quarterbacks sit of the week. Russell Wilson. He's heating up. Listen, he's playing Minnesota in Minnesota. Minnesota, guess how many times they've given up more than two touchdowns this year? How many? I told you this before the show. That's easy. Zero. No, no, no. They only have given up two. That's the max all year long. Yeah. So.
I really don't like Russell Wilson's potential to blow up if you need a big game this week. It doesn't mean he's going to be the worst quarterback in football. This is not worst quarterback in football of the week. This is your sit. I'd rather start somebody else with higher upside than Russell Wilson against Minnesota, top five defense. So Russell's my sit. Yeah, my set of the week, another guy that has been great on the year and is...
commonly started, but Philip Rivers this week, if you're Philip Rivers owner, you need to sit him down. He's playing against Denver. We've seen it all year. Nobody has torched Denver. The Broncos D against the passing game. I mean, they can be a little bit susceptible to the run, but they are just shutting everybody down. There are no exceptions. Philip River's not going to go in there and tear them up as Rivers has been, you know, not that great lately, and Denver's not where you're going to cure that ale.
And I am going to go. So much passion, Jason. Thanks. Well, I agree. And what I like about your both of those is, yeah, they can be fine, Rivers and Wilson, but they just have a ceiling cap on them. You have to imagine. I'm going big here. I've got to redeem myself. And I am sitting down. Drew Breeze. Drew Breeze is taking on Carolina. Carolina has allowed two passing touchdowns in the last three weeks, according to pro football focus.
the Carolina Panthers have the best pass coverage defense in the NFL. That includes Josh Norman, the second ranked cornerback in the league. According to Pro Football Focus, so Drew Breeze, if I have a better option, even though Breeze is at home, I'm still going to go with the other option. All right, I'm sitting down Latavius Murray at the running back position. I know he's a starter for most teams.
I'm still going to start him if I don't have a better option. But listen, Murray is facing Kansas City. Kansas City has given up one touchdown to running backs over the last seven weeks. You combine that with the fact Latavius Murray has scored one touchdown in the last five weeks. And he's been bad. It's not good. So I don't like Latavis Murray. What do you got, Jay? Well, this one pains me to say it because he's been my guy since before the offseason. And he's on my team going up against Andy this week.
But I'm going to sit Frank Gore, and I am literally sitting him on my own team. Now, this doesn't mean that you, you know, sit him. Give him your situation because it's a perfect example. Yeah. So on my situation, I have, well, I've got a great team with all these great guys. But this week's tough. He has to self-assure himself. You notice that?
That's a sign of a really secure fantasy player. Hey, it works. He has to kind of tell himself how good he is. Well, I just kind of speak in facts, like leading the league in points. So I've got Lamar Miller, and I've got marking room. I don't like really either of those guys this week, but I like them even more than Frank Gore, who is going to be on my bench. Frank Gore, he's banged up. He's been playing like he's banged up. I believe, you know, the last two weeks, he put up 34 yards and 24 yards.
in each one of those games, and that's with a total of over 30 carries. So he's just not getting it done, and he's going up against the number one fantasy rush defense in Pittsburgh. It's not a situation where I expect big things. Speaking of Lamar Miller, I appreciate that transition, because Lamar Miller is my suit of the week. He is taking on Baltimore. Baltimore has given up four touchdowns to running backs all year long, and there's only been two rushers who have...
Two times have they allowed more than 100 yards on the ground. Baltimore's run defense is still stout, even though the rest of the team is eroding around them, and it could have something to do with that you can throw on their defense so easily, so you just don't have to run. Either way, combine that with Lamar Miller's struggles and the coaching change, and my fear that Jay Ajai will be getting even more work moving forward, that I just don't feel like Lamar Miller is a very strong play this week.
All right, at the wide receiver position, this shows you how things can change week to week with different matchups. Last week, my start of the week at the wide receiver position with Stevie Johnson. This week he was my sit of the week. And it has everything to do with the matchup. Last week he had a very big game. I think it's important to bring his name up because he had such a big game. Seven for 92 in a touchdown. He's a hot name on the waiver wire this week. People are going to think, I'm going to grab him and I'm just going to start him. But the fact is he's playing Denver. He already heard the news about Philip Rivers playing Denver.
Guess how many passing touchdowns Denver's given up this year to wide receivers? I told you this before the show, too. One. One on the whole season. Insane. Isn't that crazy? That is. We're in week 13. We're talking about week 13, and they've given up one touchdown to the wide receiver.
And the fact of the matter is, you just can't, Stevie Johnson is not a heavy touchdown guy anyway. I'm not saying he's not going to get five for 48 in this game. That's very possible. But Stevie Johnson is not somebody that I love rolling out there. I'll start many more upside guys than Stevie Johnson. Well, this is why we do starts of the week and sits of the week, right? He was your start of the week last week. He's your sit of the week this week. And I'm actually doing the exact same thing at the exact same position. Last week, my start of the week.
was Deshaun Jackson, went out, got that 60-yard touchdown bomb like we were, you know, predicting in that type of a matchup. But this week he plays Dallas. Dallas's secondary, and their whole defense has been pretty good. They're the fifth best against the wide receiver. So this isn't the type of matchup that I want to go for that boom, Deshaun Jackson game. I expected to be lower scoring. You know, that's where he's going to go out for three for 30 and be a complete bust type of game. So I'm sitting Deshaun Jackson this week.
And this week, I am sitting, Sammy Watkins. I know people are going to be clamoring to get him back into the starting lineup after he went completely ham last week, but he takes on Houston. And here is what Houston has done against number one wide receivers the last three weeks. Week 10, A.J. Green, five for 67. Week 11, Brandon Marshall, five for 47. Now, Marshall did score, so he salvaged a day.
And then last week, Brandon Cooks, five for 35. I mean, these are, maybe Brandon Cooks isn't considered elite, but AJ Green and Brandon Marshall are both considered elite wide receivers in fantasy football, and Houston's defense has resurged to be who we thought they could be at the beginning of the year. And I just don't feel safe or great throwing Sammy Watkins, even coming in off of that game. Yeah, it's interesting because all three of our guys.
had huge weeks last week. So we're tempering expectations that are just based on chasing one week's worth of points. So very interesting at the tight-in position. I'm going to let you kick it off, Mike, because this is your guy. It brings me great sadness to say that I'm going to sit Jordan Reed. Rule 86. Rule 86. And this is simply because I just, I don't think the ceiling is there. The ceiling is there. I think the Dallas defense is good like Jason was talking about.
that Dallas defense held Grancowski. Rob Grancowski to 4 for 67 and Greg Olson to 5 for 70. Now, those are not horrific numbers when you're talking about tight ends, but when you're talking about the number one and number two tight ends in the league, in my opinion, then they have done well by shutting them down. So Jordan Reed could struggle. It wouldn't shock me if he found the end zone, but if I have another option,
This week, like most Jordan Reed owners do, I'm probably going to lean on that other option. All right, my tied-in sit of the week is who I consider to be probably the most over-owned player in fantasy football right now in over 95% of leagues, I believe, right around there. And it's Jason Whitten. Jason Witten, I saw the problem with Jason Witton happened this week in one of our leagues where he had Delaney Walker in his lineup, and he just put Witton in there. And I don't know why.
I don't know why he just put winning in there, but zero touchdowns since week number one. That's the first reason he shouldn't be in your lineup. He's had double digits one time since then.
You know, just pathetic. There are so many other options, higher upside guys. Now you lose Romo. There's nothing that's going to happen that's positive for Jason Witten unless you're talking about some garbage time drive that ends with five or six catches for 50 yards. So I don't see why you would start. I'd rather start Vance McDonald. I'd rather start Brent Selleck. I'd rather start Zach Miller, anybody over him because I want upside at my tight-in position, not just a baseline of one or two catches. Would you start Luke Wilson?
