Back to the podcast. We've upgraded. Mike is out. Jay Grizz is in. Welcome, Jay. Based on the Megalodon episode and the ruckus debate that we had over white fudge dipped Oreos, we have decided.

3:06 ↗

to force Mike to take a leave of absence and get rid of his nonsense takes. Yeah, yeah, he likes the white, he likes the white chocolate dipped Oreos. Of course, of course Jay Gris does. He's got a feisty appetite. We record so many shows every year that when there's a four-day gap like there was for Thanksgiving after the Megalodon, I feel like I haven't been here in forever. What happened? What happened? Indeed, we're going to get into what happened.

3:35 ↗

from Thanksgiving through Sunday. We do have the Baltimore Houston game tonight, but otherwise a lot has taken place, and we're going to focus on the big time studs, the big time duds, the fantasy implications of what we saw in week 12. And man, there are some things to talk about Julio Jones. You had a day. Well done. Yeah. I believe the first player to ever have three 250-yard games in his career, which you...

4:05 ↗

You told people this is coming. Yeah, I mean, I said he was my number one this week because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are bad against wide receivers. And I, a lot of people don't know this. But Julio Jones, very good wide receiver. Yeah, not only is he a wide receiver. He's a good wide receiver. Pretty, pretty above average. How was your Thanksgiving?

4:27 ↗

My Thanksgiving was, I mean, I have gained 10 pounds. At least. I mean, not only did Thanksgiving have an abundance of Thanksgiving food, but because of that Oreo debate. Oh, no. I am not lying. And I am a little ashamed to admit that I have had four boxes of white fudge dipped Oreos. And.

4:52 ↗

I will say my children had a few of them, so all four boxes were not entirely mine. But I would say 90%. Brooks, how do you qualify a few? Yeah, like a few is normally what? What's that? How much is a few? A few. A few, I would say my children totaled five. Okay. So you felt the need to rebel against Mike's thoughts by eating four boxes of Orioles. I can't even believe I'm alive here today.

5:21 ↗

for this show. But I thought, you know, the Foot Clan needs me. How's the heart rate? Heart's going to be gone soon. It's just, it's done. Good. Nice and more. You and I will be flying out to New York this weekend. We'll be there for the World Series of Fantasy Final Table at draft headquarters. That's right. In New York. So I would like it if you would survive at least through that obligation. You don't want a solo trip? No, no. I mean, or if you're going to go, you know, go before or after.

5:50 ↗

Otherwise, just not during. That's a deal. You may be flying with Jake Rizz there, Andy. I don't think they let bears on a plane. In the seat next to me? That'd be uncomfortable. All right. Here's a quick question for the day. This is interesting. This comes in from Jake from State Farm sent this in. What's your opinion on this? Team A has locked the number one seat in the playoffs after week 11 with a 10 and 1 record. In week 12, he benched all his players to make sure.

6:18 ↗

His opponent wins and pushes a better team out of the playoffs, making its playoffs easier is that collusion or just good strategy. It is good strategy. It is not collusion and it is not allowed. That is well said. I would have said it's not collusion. Right, because it's not two players teaming up to agree on something. Literally, I mean, that's bad form. Oh, you can't do that. Below board. Put it this way.

6:47 ↗

Here is a staple of, you know, there's always the etiquette. Like what is okay, what is not. Something that is never, ever, ever, ever okay is not fielding a roster. Not fielding a spot in the roster is not okay. I mean, there could be some situation where it is in your team's best interest because of buys and because of matchups and, you know, where you maybe.

7:14 ↗

You have your kicker in on a buy. You don't have anybody to drop. Okay. You can argue that that was what you chose to do in the best interest of your team, which probably wasn't. But whatever. But just not playing a roster is not playing the game. It disturbs the integrity of your league. Yes, exactly right. A free win for that person is not fair. I mean, that's the essence. Giving somebody a free win.

7:42 ↗

knocking somebody out of the playoffs because of it. How would you feel if you're that other team? And that's ridiculous. Yeah, that's ridiculous. You don't, you don't deserve to be kicked out of the playoffs based on shenanigans. And I would, I would venture to guess that team A hates white fudge dipped orange. Yeah, yeah, definitely. Definitely. Like Brooks. Like Brooks does. We, you know, we let Brooks still join us here today.

8:05 ↗

Only because we didn't want to do the amount of work that he has to do. Brooks is an amazing. We know the amount of work. Mike is an amazing man. And to pick up the slack from what Mike does is not. It's not hard. I mean, we already did it. Yeah. Actually, Mike is on vacation in Disneyland, a well-deserved vacation. He works his booty off. I was waiting to say that for a couple of episodes. He's awesome. All right. Twitter, you can find us at the FF Ballers. If you're joining us fresh this year, 2017.

8:34 ↗

Bonjour. And maybe you are joining us midseason. You don't know a lot about the show. You're learning. You're learning that a cardboard bear fills in for us when someone's out. You're learning the fact that we are here five days a week. And we are here in the off season in case you're curious. We are here. That's how a lot of people get better.

8:57 ↗

We always hear from people saying that, you know, I played for four or five years and I never made the playoffs. And, you know, I started listening in the off season. And that's when it's like, because I remember, you know, a decade ago when I was running a different business, didn't have enough time for fantasy football. If my team didn't make the playoffs, I check out. You know, I just stopped following. And this is the time of year. This weekend is when it's like you, a lot of people are figuring it out. They're just inside the playoffs or just outside the playoffs.

9:27 ↗

And if you miss the playoffs, don't ever check out because then what happens is starting next year at the draft. There's so much change that happens over these next five weeks. But you're still going to come into 2018 with the concept that where you left is where the NFL is picking up. It's just not the case. Yeah, exactly. And it's a lot of fun. You've got to stay with us all year round. And some of the players are going to talk about on studs and duds today.

9:56 ↗

I think they have some of those implications where they're going to finish the year in a certain way that's going to change the way you'd view them as a keeper, as a dynasty player, as a trading option in the off season, and as a starter for next year. So a lot of things going down. The website's the Fantasy Footballers.com. We're going to rewind the weekend. Weekly rewind. Oh, no. Greg Olson. You played half the snaps, and then you got hurt, foot injury.

10:30 ↗

initial x-rays this morning. They came back negative, which is good news. Yeah, it was reported Greg Olson wanted to go back in the game in the second half, but he was not allowed because he was saying that he was experiencing pain. So this was precautionary. He did not re-injure the bone that was fractured in his foot. But what it does say is that it's not 100% healed enough to play. Now, here's my guess.

10:57 ↗

for everyone out there based on what I've read on the medical doctors take on this injury. And we have a lot of experience with this injury. Julio Jones, Sammy Watkins, Julian Edelman, a lot of players in the NFL have had this injury. Des Bryant. Des Bryant. And they need to get another surgery. There's basically a 20% chance that he needs to get another surgery. However, we've seen with those other players that they can play through the season poorly.

11:26 ↗

and then get that second surgery in the offseason. That's what I expect to happen with Greg Olson. He's a tough guy, but that means that it's going to be very difficult to trust him as a confidence level to put him in. I mean, I started Greg Olson in our dynasty league over Eric Ebron this last week, and I got to experience what happens when you've got a player coming back off of injury, and he plays a couple snaps, and then it's like, hey, we're going to shut you down.

11:53 ↗

That stinks. Yeah, we're going to continue to monitor his status for the upcoming week. Doug Martin, he suffered a concussion in Sunday's game. There were quite a few concussions this week. Um, Amari Cooper's another one. Brutal hit. Both guys did not return. Both guys, I would say are week to week. And all of a sudden, Peyton Barber came in. He got a couple of goal line carries.

12:15 ↗

Yeah, we'll go in depth as to who to pick up on tomorrow's show, the Waver Wire show. But initial impressions, do you have your eyebrows going up with Peyton Barber? Not really. Mine or not. Looking further into, I mean, Peyton Barber comes in and gets two touchdowns. So it's like, oh, he's the pickup. But he still had fewer carries than Jaquiz Rogers did in that time. And I am firmly confident that he is, that Jaquiz Rogers is the better running back. So we'll have to wait and see.

12:43 ↗

hear what comes out of camp. And, of course, Doug Martin could be active. That team is a mess. It is. The backup running back, backup quarterback and a coach that I think will soon be going on. Oh, Dirk Cutter is getting cut. Yeah. All right. Paxton Lynch left the game with an ankle injury. You might not have known he was in the game with the stat line he put up. His stat line. I threw it up on Twitter. I think he had, you know, 35 yards late in the third quarter.

13:13 ↗

It's not good. And this roulette of quarterbacks that are playing, you know, Simeon, Osweiler, Lynch in some rotation of misery. I mean, that's what it is. At least they're back to their best quarterback now. I assume Trevor Simeon will start. We don't know for sure. Oh, I don't assume that. Lynch was 9 for 14 for 41 yards and a pick. Hmm.
