I almost had to do the show by myself. You almost had to do the show by yourself. How would I be aware of this? I didn't know. He almost jumped off a bridge last night. Oh, okay. I was so angry. I was somebody on fantasy football tilt. Oh, man. I quit. I quit fantasy football. Really? That's amazing because our quick question kind of has to do with that. Well, all right. So you almost jumped off a bridge.

Well, and I would have been the last verified member alive. Yeah, I mean, it's really more of a joke because there are no bridges in Arizona because there are no bodies of water to put a bridge over. Right. You could have jumped off a mesa. Right. Well, welcome to. That's a great start. Welcome to the show. Tuesday, November 15th. We are the fantasy footballers, or two thirds of us at least. Mike is out of town this week. And so Andy and Jason taking care of business.

All right, we have Eric Dickerson on the show today. We sure do. A lot of good comments that he has. Good insight. I really look forward to that. You will find out whether or not he believes Ezekiel Elliott will break his rookie rushing record. Put him on the spot. We did. And so you will hear that interview later on in the show. um jason is angry you're darn right yeah and uh so here's the quick question of the day if your team is not making the playoffs this came in off of twitter at keith justice i hope that's his last name i really do and i hope he's a sergeant yeah he better be wearing a cowboy hat keith justice at all times sheriff um if your team is not making the playoffs what is your motivation for the rest of the season we're at the point now where hey look i've got a league where i'm two and eight

I do. I have a league where I'm two and eight. And it's not cool. So what's my motivation rest of the season? What is your motivation rest of the season? If you're in a league like that, especially if you're in like a redraft. Yeah, where it's not a keeper or not a dynasty league. This is actually a great question and I think there is a great answer.

to this question that I learned a long time ago before we were professional fantasy football analysts when I was a casual fan first starting out. Used to be a grammar teacher, right? You used to teach at grammar school? Yeah, that's all I did. All I did. I learned people how to talk. How goods were you at that? I was so good at it that I said, here's how you're going to speak well for good. Yeah.

That was your old motto as a teacher. All right. Continue. That made me want to bomb. Because teachers have mottoes. That's what they do. Yeah, but what I learned was every year when I was a casual fan, I would do all right. I would draft a pretty good team because I would pay a lot of attention during the draft. And as the year went on, my willingness to pay attention and listen to everything kind of waned. And I wasn't as good at the end of the season.

every single year in those first few years because i didn't pay enough attention as soon as i started to kind of be off my interest waned and what happened to really change it for me was once i continued to pay attention

If I was out of the playoffs, once I continued to pay attention and followed the game, it made me so much better for future years to know what happens the second half of the year. Because fantasy, things change, and you've got to pay attention to how the second half is so different than the first half. And you can't do that without having experienced it before. So if you're out of the playoffs, keep listening. And I would say...

even more so than the rest of this year, the off season where we're still doing a couple shows a week, even when it's, you know, when football's done. And those are fun shows. Oh, those are great. Those are so fun. Just, you know, a lot of entertainment. However, they're really important to keep up with the trends and the little nuances of what coaching.

changes are happening, what player changes are happening, directions where teams are going, good vibes, bad vibes. They help you win in fantasy football in subsequent seasons. And beyond that, disrupting the playoff hopes of my friend Jason would only bring me great joy. So that is my goal. I know we face off head to head very soon, even though I'm out of the mix in that league.

I will do everything I can to defeat you. I should have locked my playoffs up last night. I'm so angry. You did come in quite angry. Let's talk briefly about last night's game then. You had Eli Manning, three touchdown passes, one to Beckham, one to Shepard, one to Adams. And then you had Andy Dalton on the other side. There wasn't a sense of urgency on that team. I couldn't believe they didn't give themselves another opportunity to win that game.

Really, you know, what can you say? I mean, Eifert, 96 yards, the majority of it on the 71-yard gain. A.J. Green's A.J. Green. He was great. But they looked like they were having major offensive line issues, both running the ball and passing the ball, especially at the end of the game when they needed something to happen. They just, every time they snapped the ball when it was a passing play, Andy Dalton, that pocket collapsed in around him. And that last drive where it was like three in a row where he just got.

One of those plays was really incredible. His entire offensive line just sandwiched him as they were compacted like they were in a trash compactor. And what can you do as a quarterback when you snap the ball and you've got six guys in your face? Paul Perkins, Rashad Jennings. Jennings had 15 for 87, the best he looked all year.

A couple of important runs. Does this put to bed the Perkins hype for a couple weeks? No, I don't think it does, because if you watch the entire game, what you saw is that they used Jennings when it was time to run the clock out. I don't know if that was because of fumbling fears of rookies in general. But before that point, before it was time to run the game out,

Jennings and Perkins kind of had split usage. Perkins looked every bit as good, if not better than Jennings. And Jennings actually had a pretty darn lousy game. And then he was able to get, I think, like a 24-yard run at the end. I mean, he looked good finally. But I just don't think that that was, you look at the box score and you go, okay, they decided on Jennings. That wasn't how I felt watching the game.

I will say one other observation I made of the game was that Will Ty was heavily involved. He had a bad drop. He also had an end zone target where there's some miscommunication. But he still was 5 for 53. Larry Danel's not on the field. This is Will Ty's opportunity. He's somebody that, you know, look, there are a lot of tied-end options out there. There are a lot of guys that are, you know, they're me. So I think Ty is somebody you could consider because to me, he looked like the second target behind Beckham in this game. For sure.

Sometimes Jason, I don't know if you feel this, the weight of being verified. It's just a heavy weight on the back because you have to carry Mike. You know what I mean? Yeah. And he's not a light guy. No, he's been putting on some weight. He's been putting on a lot. He's been using the Jason Moore diet. Yeah. Do you think it has to do with his verification issues? Yeah, I mean, depression is a big reason for weight gains, so certainly. Sorry, Mike. Okay. All right.

Adam Schaefter reports that Rob Grankowski has a chest injury, not a punctured lung, as was originally reported, and that it is not considered overly serious. However, could miss a week, could miss two weeks? Probably a week. Anytime you miss a game with a superstar, that's a serious injury for your fantasy team.

You know he's going to be out at least this week, and I wouldn't be shocked if it turned into two. So you've got to have other options. We just talked about Will Ty, and we'll talk about some other tight ends on this waiver show. Pick one up. Big news yesterday. Alshon Jeffrey suspended four games for performance enhancing drugs that I think like maybe they were expired. The bottle was expired. The performance enhancing part didn't seem to really. I mean, he didn't get hurt.

He said, to his credit, he took responsibility. He said he took an inflammation supplement, but it's his fault. And now he's out. Yeah, that's not good for your contract year, Alshan. It's also not good for fantasy football. You can't trust, I mean, obviously we couldn't trust Jay Cutler with Alshan. You certainly can't without him, the only beneficiary of this. I mean, you could argue, okay, Cameron Meredith, maybe he's worth a look.

Eddie Royal, maybe he's like a look. I think a lot of people are going to want us to or expect us to say in the wide receiver segment today, go get Cam Meredith. And I, you know, I don't, I don't ascribe to that. There are other wide receivers I would rather have. I think the biggest bump here is probably for Zach Miller. He's.
