Fantasy Football Podcast 2016 - Week 11 Waivers, Eric Dickerson, Streams of the Week

you know, six touchdowns in the last six games, four in the last three, he has become, and I've always said this. I've said this for the last two years. I think Richard Matthews is a really good wide receiver. You have. You have continued to say that over and over again in spite of me. The problem is that he doesn't get enough targets. And he still doesn't, right? I'm not, I'm not, you know, banking on him the way I'm banking on Steve Smith because he's still getting it done with like, okay, he caught three balls, but he got a touchdown.

That being said, he has been on fire. And when I say on fire, since week four, since week four, he is the number five wide receiver. That's, that's like Doug Baldwin's second half. That's exactly right. So I'm going to stay in the flames. I'm going to throw them out there against Indianapolis. Six touchdowns in the last six weeks, I think. Yeah, that's right. Listen to the, you know, we talked to the beginning of the year, and it came to fruition the first few weeks.

You couldn't own a wide receiver for Tennessee because they couldn't score enough points. Listen to the last five weeks or six weeks of them. This is the points that they've scored. They've won, by the way, four of six weeks. They won with 30 points. They won with 28 points. They lost with 26 points. They lost with 35 points. They just won with 47 points. That's nice. That's very nice. I like it.

So I'm with you on that. I think at this point, he's a stay-in-the-flame circumstance. Other names I want to throw out there. Two guys that are on by this week, you talk about the opposite of that this week play. These are guys to pay attention to. They may get dropped this week. They may, you know, in one of their cases, they are on waivers. Tyrell Williams, he may get dropped. He's only 70% owned right now, but people may drop him for the start. If he's dropped, pick him up.

Yeah, I mean, he was 5 for 125 in a touchdown again. He seems to be that number one guy, especially with Benjamin out. I'm not confident that Benjamin's getting back. Yeah. I'm not saying he's going to be done, but if he doesn't play another snap this year, I'm not going to be surprised. And then, you know, you can't ignore three straight 16-point games and half-point leagues for Taylor Gabriel. You know, Matt Ryan is on fire this year. Yeah, their offense looks great. But he's a very kind of Markey's Goodwin.

plus type of play. You're hoping for the big play, but he can fly. And then Eli Rogers. The last two weeks has 10 catches. He plays Cleveland this week, 20% owned. Eli Rogers is a nice mixture of both. To me, I'd rather have Tyree Kill than almost all these guys, though. Really? Yeah, because Tyree Kill's only 10% owned. I would not. He takes on Tampa Bay this week. He just caught 10 passes.

In this last matchup, and he's been flashing all year long. He's probably their best wide receiver. Tyree Kill. And he's 10 for 89 this past week. To me, I would pick up Tyree Kill as a play this week and be very fine starting him. What if Jeremy, I assume Jeremy Macklin's going to play this week. I think there's enough to go around against Tampa. I do. You might be right. I mean, Tyree Kill. I played Tyree Kill this year. Tyree Kill is very talented. What he's flashed.

both in special teams and as a wide receiver has been electric. He is worth a play against Tampa Bay, but, you know, in their offensive system that does not usually produce a lot of fantasy relevance from the wide receiver position, if Jeremy Macklin is back, I just don't know that I can trust a start with Tyree Kill. I don't think there will be enough to go around personally. Eli Rogers, but Tyree Kill gets one to two carries a week too.

That's the nice thing about Tyree Kill. Yeah, one to two. Yeah. It's more than zero. It sure is, but it's not. But it's less than three. All right. Double digits in three out of the last four. So I'm happy about that. All right. And then some other, you know, we talked about Meredith and Royal earlier in the show. Both guys are probably available in your league. You know what? You can take out a really, really dirty, grimy coin, which it comes from being a Bears.

fan and just flip that coin and pick your favorite guy. I'm not going to pretend to say that I think Royals is going to dominate Meredith. I think both those guys have some value. Meredith has the better body size, you know, the better skill set. Yeah, I mean, he's a prototypical outside wide receiver, but Royals, the target guy. Yeah, exactly. And then Royal, you've seen with Jake Cutler, he has had a relationship where he's locked on him in the past. So you have reasons to believe in both. You have reasons to avoid both.

Me. Yeah. All right. Tight ends. Let's talk about some tight ends. We're always talking about tight ends because you don't know who to throw out there from week to week if you don't have one of the premier guys. Before we get into the waiver, the three names that I have in mind, let's talk about Vernon Davis for a second. Okay. Because Vernon Davis is out there in almost all leagues. And...

The thing about him is he's produced double-digit fantasy numbers for three straight weeks as the quote-unquote second. Yeah, maybe four straight weeks. The quote-unquote second tied end on that team. So how confident are you in rolling out Vernon Davis and staying in the flames with him? Man, I am afraid to do it. I don't buy in. But I think that I might, full disclosure, I think I might have blinders on because.

He's currently the 18th ranked tight end on the year, and he's had four straight weeks with double digits. In the last month of games, the last actually a little bit longer than that because they had a buy week in there, right? Their last four games, he has not had less than 50 yards. For a tight end, that's great. He's had 50, 70, 93, and 66, plus he's added two touchdowns in that stretch. Now, some of those games were without Jordan Reed.

Some of them have been with Jordan Reed. Jordan Reed being back is why I don't really trust the second tight end. It can happen, and I think he will have several good games left, but I just don't think I can trust him week and week out. Now, this matchup against Green Bay, this coming week, you know, leans me more to the side of I think maybe we can trust him if you've got to put up a lot of points, especially, you know, if Deshaun Jackson is...

is not in there. Oh, let me just throw this out as well. Because another one of those, we normally try to go a little deeper. But if for some reason, Jameson Crowder is a wide receiver that's on your waivers, that's ridiculous. And pick them up. Yeah. Two tight ends that are...

mentioned in that same category. Probably owned, but not owned in about 25% of leagues. Martellus Bennett and Zach Miller are the two top pickups if they were somehow available with Grunk potentially missing a week. Bennett would be the guy against San Francisco. Zach Miller, 69% owned, and he may receive more targets with Jeffrey out. The three tight-in names I'm going to bring up now are Cameron Brate, Lederius Green, and C.J. Fedorowitz, okay? These guys are probably available in your league. Brate is the most heavily owned, so he may not be.

Who do you like most of that bunch? Of that bunch, it's definitely Cameron Bray. We've seen him utilized throughout the season. Unfortunately, you know, he's had some weeks where I think people started to buy in, and that was the week where he didn't perform. So he's left kind of that, you know, bad taste in their mouth.

But he has scored in the last three games. The last two weeks he's had five and seven receptions. Those are great numbers for a tight end. I feel like you can really rely on him. He's been utilized more and more in the passing game. And he's talented. Let me put you on the spot. All right. You have to choose the tight end rest of the season between Cameron Bray and Travis Kelsey. Ooh. And we've talked a lot about Brates, not Brate, but the Tampa Bay schedule, you know, getting to face New Orleans twice in the playoffs.

Kelsey's last five weeks, four, three, nineteen, eight, and six. Brate's last four weeks, four, eight, twelve, eighteen. Yeah, I mean, I get the temptation there, but I'm certainly still sticking with Travis Kelsey. Okay. I just wanted to ask. Yeah, I mean, the talent, the size, what we've seen before, I'm going to stick with him. And in his, you know, his playoff schedule, he does have Denver in week 16 that championship week, which.

is not probably as good as having New Orleans. But the tight ends have won against Denver in the past. So I'm going Kelsey there. Okay. And then Laderius Green first week back, three for 30 gets to face Cleveland this week. I mean, he might be worth a cursory pickup to see what you have there. And if his role increases. I'd start him. All right. He's playing against Cleveland. Cleveland at the tight end position has just, they're the worst in the league by a mile.

And so I'd play him over Sammy Coates right now. Just an obligatory shot to Coates to Mike. An obligatory shot to Sammy Coates in his multi-week goosers. C.J. Fedorowitz, don't forget about him. He's fourth in fantasy points per tight-in. I'm sorry, fantasy points per game for tied in since week four before this last week, where the touchdown went to Ryan Griffin. But it's normally been Fedorowitz. So you've got to pay attention to him as a possible pickup.

We're going to talk about quarterback streamers here in a second. I'll give you some defensive names first, and then we'll talk to Eric Dickerson, Hall of Fame running back for the formerly of the Los Angeles Rams and the Indianapolis Colts. So defenses to stream this week, everybody needs a defense streamer. Jason, give me a couple names. There's quite a few that I like this week. Just like last week with the Rams, you could play the Rams or the Jets in the same game. I think you can play the Rams or Miami.

No, last week. You could play the Rams or the Jets against each other. Both were good. I think very similar to that. This week, the Rams or Miami in that same game. You've got two good defenses facing each other. I like both of those. I also like the Patriots defense against San Francisco. I know you might disagree on that one. You have. I think that Kavernick is, he meets everybody's needs.

He meets the opposing defense's needs for mistakes, and he meets the streaming quarterback needs for baseline. So I'm not opposed to that. I think you can dance with the devil with the Raiders defense. They're off the by, they're at home, and they get Brock Osweiler. He's so good, though, Andy. No, wait, I said Brock Osweiler. Oh, I meant he's so tall. Yes, he's very tall. Yeah, okay, I got that one wrong. He's very tall. He can top shelf stuff. He can get it down. Yeah. He can dust, you know.

Very high cabinets. He's actually, honestly, really helpful if you were to wallpaper because sometimes it's hard. You've got to get like, I don't know, scaffolding or something. Not with him. No, he just reaches right up to the top. Yeah. Not good at football, though. No, not very good at football. I saw a stat. I forget who posted it. I wish I could give you credit. It was on Twitter and it was over the last few weeks. Lamar Miller has a better yards per carry.

then Brock Osweiler has yards per completion. That's ridiculous. That's insane. That's absurd. Oh, my goodness. Steelers, they take on Cleveland. They're another streaming D. And then the Cowboys take on Baltimore. You could probably do worse than the Cowboys. At the quarterback position, we'll just throw out a few names before we give you our streamer options. And really, these are just guys that were on by. Stafford and Carr, they're normally owned in all these leagues.

But they were just on buy and were dropped by a lot of, you know, there's still about 20% of leagues now that they're available in because of that buy. They were owned in 100% of leagues before that. So make sure you check them out. They both have winnable matchups this week. Full stream ahead. All right. I was receiving a little bit of flack on Twitter for what I said about Colin Kaepernick. What did you say? Well, I mean, I think what came across was that I was somehow in love with him.

Hmm. But... You heard it here. Andy loves Colin Kaepernick. Twitter, let him know how much he loves him. All right. Well, you don't love Colin Kaepernick. Anyways, Andy, who is your stream of the week this week? I'm going to go with Colin Kaepernick. Andy loves Kaepernick. He's at home against New England. New England is the 19th best defense against fantasy quarterbacks. I've made my case for Kaepernick as one of those guys due to his schedule at the end of the year that could...

be a streaming playoff quarterback. He has a couple of great playoff matchups. He's been running, uh, over 70 yards, three of the last four games. You don't need him to do a whole lot through the air to get it done. And yet he had a 398 yard game. He had over 200 against the Cardinals. Now he's at home against New England. And guess what? Here's a little, uh, surprise for you. I believe New England will be winning in this game. I believe that the 49ers need to come back. Oh.

Fair. Cool off, brother. You're on fire. So that's a hot take there. Kaepernick, to me, he's my streaming quarterback of the week. You know, Jason, it's your turn. Okay. That's all I'll say. All right. I'm going to say this on Kaepernick. Remember, we wanted to put in to vote for rule changes. And my rule change was, you know, I think that for a quarterback passing and running yards.
