Fantasy Football Podcast 2016 - Week 11 Waivers, Eric Dickerson, Streams of the Week

a necessary target, a target that Jay Cutler has looked for so far in Cameron Meredith's two games back with Jay Cutler. He's had one catch in both games. And that one catch this last game was a Hail Mary pass that was to Alshan Jeffrey that got tipped to Cameron Meredith. Yeah. So basically he locked into a target there. To me, if I'm taking a flyer on these guys.

Deeper League, PPR, whatever. I'd rather have Eddie Royal. He's got a longer track record with Jay Cutler going all the way back to his time in Denver. I think Royals past target, you know, the targets are going to be higher for him. So if I was taking a shot at one of them, it would be Royal, but I think the cheapest guy, whichever guy's cheaper in your waiver wire is the one I would take the chance on. I mean, what category are they in? Probably the Dantrell Inman category. The, okay, you've got a shot.

to have a good game. But what game is that going to be? I think that's fair. Todd Bowles declined to name a starting quarterback. Hooray, hurrah. Brandon Marshall is running in the streets, screaming. I mean... You know what? I'm a little happy about. This is a mess. So I've had Brandon Marshall on my team for several weeks because I traded Larry Fitzgerald to get him. That's worked out well. No bitterness here. No, none. But I'm really happy he's on by this week. So you don't have to start him without guilt.

Yeah, exactly. Now I can just go ahead and put someone else in that will produce. Oh, I'm sorry. We're going to talk with Eric Dickerson coming up after our waiver segment, talk about a number of the young running backs. They're short-term and long-term outlooks. A reminder for everybody, week 11 by weeks, Atlanta, Denver, New York in San Diego. San Diego. So, you know, Matt Ryan owners, you're going to have to find another option, stream a different quarterback. I've been asked that question a couple times this morning on the radio. Who do I start? Who do I stream? Who do I stream? We're going to get into that, our full stream ahead segment on the show today. What position do you want to start at with waivers, Jason? Let's start with kickers. I make a joke.

I will say this, pro tip, and we've said this in the past, but a lot of times when you have these waiver weeks, look, if you've got a burnable bench spot, look for Matt Bryant to hit the waivers as some people are just going to have to drop him. He's been a great kicker that's made a defense, and I think that those are sometimes worth picking up. I know you spend a lot of time on kick. Oh, gosh. So much. All right. Let's start the most important position in fantasy football. And that's not kicker. That's running back.

So let's talk about the running back options that are out there because, look, this is a position where regardless of what you have starting on your fantasy team, you need depth, you need flexibility, you need somebody that can provide an insurance policy during your playoff run. So to you, who is the number one waiver wire ad for the running back position? The number one waiver wire ad for the running back position to me is going to be Rob Kelly from the Washington Redskins.

There was a report coming out, I believe, this morning talking about how Matt Jones might be another healthy scratch. I don't see why you wouldn't have Matt Jones be a healthy scratch. He doesn't.

help out in special teams, and he isn't as good, you know, so far from what you've seen, proof is in the pudding, as Rob Kelly. Rob Kelly almost got 100 yards against the Minnesota Vikings. He looks good. On 100 carries, he's only lost yardage on two of them. He looked great in preseason. He's already broken more tackles than Matt Jones has on the year, and I think he takes a hold of a starting running back role going forward, and there's just not.

The only other person that's out there, possibly on the waivers, actually he's available in more waivers, but the only other guy that I see who could take that stranglehold rest of season starting from this current week is James Starks. Yeah, I mean, I think Rob Kelly's a good pick, but I think he's a 50-50 chance that he's on your waiver wire right now. Correct. And so if you're looking at somebody more available, James Starks is at the 30% mark, I think, you know, look, he came out first game back.

scored a touchdown. He'll be targeted a little bit in the passing game. He only had seven carries, but I think he is one of the top guys this week. I think the reaction that a lot of people are going to have is, hey, do I spend a lot of my fab dollars on the CJ Pro size? No. Yeah, I mean, that's your take is no. My take is maybe. My take is he might be. If he's the best guy available on your waiver wire, I think he's going to be involved rest of season. He had 153 total yards against New England.

I am definitely in the camp that thinks Thomas Rawls comes back this week and is the first and second down back very soon. For sure. But Pro Seis, you know, if Rawls is re-injured, Pro Seis is probably the guy. Even if he's not re-injured, he's on the out going to be out there on third down. That might be enough. Yeah. Pete Carroll was talking about, you know, the matchup this week. It's a good matchup for running backs. He was talking about his running backs. And he talked about Thomas Rawls. He talked about C.J. Procise. He didn't even mention Kristen Michael.

So it is a two-minute. I agree that ProCise is going to be utilized and is worth. In the Chris Thompson style.

Exactly. And that's where I say I wouldn't spend too much money on him. I wouldn't do it for Chris Thompson. He's worth owning, worth having. I think you can start him in a flex position on biweeks and get points out of it. But it looks to me like, and I guess this means we should mention Thomas Rawls is still available in about 50% of leagues. It's crazy. That's not a lot of leagues, you know, when it comes to more hardcore leagues. However, check.

Sometimes I'm blown away. Sometimes in our leagues that are super competitive, I don't even check for guys, you know. Well, think about it. If you're not in a league that has an IR spot and you've gone through bypocalypse week after week, there are guys that are dropped because they have to be dropped. Yep. So, yeah, I think Thomas Rawls, you have to keep him in mind. The other names I want to throw out there for you, Jason, Kenneth Dixon.

who is only owned in 10% of ESPN leagues, 20% of Yahoo Leagues. That's crazy. To me, he has taken the cake as the best of that kind of a rookie crop that's fighting through. The Paul Perkins, DeAndre Washington's. Yep. Yep. No, I agree. Kenneth Dixon last week, seven targets, five catches, six for 30 yet in the ground. He also had like a 25-yard run called back. He also has... Which would have put him at eight yards to carry on the game. He also has Terrence West ahead of him, who has looked atrocious.

the last two games. Yeah, he's more of a Terrence South right now because he's going backwards against the offensive line. I think Kenneth Dixon would have been even more involved in the running game this last week if it wasn't for the slight injury concern they had with him. We saw him missing a few practices that week. Yeah, he was banged up. And so I think going forward, Kenneth Dixon is certainly a guy to have. If he's, you know, these other guys, they're already owned. I would spend a...

first waiver claim position on Kenneth Dixon personally. So does that make him the most, your kind of number one pick up if Rob Kelly is not available? Yeah, I mean, I would order. Would you take Dixon over Starks, I guess is what I'm saying? No, I would go Rob Kelly, James Starks, Kenneth Dixon. All right. Two other names that people want to know about Jeremy Langford. If Jordan Howard was to miss time, is Langford worth owning?

Yeah, I mean, I think he is worth owning because you're going to have a starting running back for at least a week. So you view him over Kerry? I do. I think Jeremy Langford will have the role over Kadim Carey. There's no reason now that Langford is healthy. I mean, we saw in the beginning of the year. We saw all of them healthy. We saw Kadim Carey healthy and Jeremy Langford healthy at one point. And Jeremy Langford was the guy. So I don't see why that would change now. And he was productive.

productive for fantasy enough where I think if you need to start him, you could certainly do worse than that. All right. Before we talk wide receiver waiver pickups, Jason. Yes. He was 5 for 60 in a touchdown last week. The first week back from the injury, he was back at 85% snap count. He scored this past week. Joe Flacco loves this guy. And why not? I mean, he's a gamer. He fights for every ball. Steve Smith, if he's available, to me, he's a two already. I was going to say, I mean, he really is. See, to me, he is an absolute two. As in the way that I look at Steve Smith is, he's basically almost a wide receiver one. If he's not a wide receiver one in most weeks,

then he will be a two. And that's the lowest he will go. He is so reliable and consistent, and you can't usually find these guys on waivers. So it is worth mentioning it. If he's not there. He's probably not there. Who are you looking at now? You know, it depends on kind of what I need for a team. Do I need a play this week?

Or am I looking at a longer term, you know, good option? Because to me, there's different options there. So if I need a play this week, and I'm saying...
