This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Every football fan is different. Some won't wash their lucky mustard-stained jersey until the season's over. Some insist they can't sit down on third downs and some pick their favorite team because, I don't know, just like football fandom, nobody's life is exactly the same. And that's why State Farm gets to know you, not as a policy number, but as an actual person.

Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Welcome in Friday, November 12th. Andy Mike and Jason, the fantasy footballers, back with you. We have news to talk about injury updates. We have a couple of big free agent acquisitions. We have matchups. We have the wheel of shame. We have hopefully a very limited reaction to last night's affair.
Oh, man, I've got some reactions. Did you say, I mean, this is the question. Did you stay awake? So not only did I stay awake. I'm sorry. So last night, my children had the big debut. Like they're doing a theater show and all of them are in it. So I went full dad mode. I silenced the phone. I didn't look at it from, you know, like five o'clock on. I hit record on the game.
I'm very, Lamar Jackson's my quarterback in my fantasy football league. So I'm like, I have a little bit of excitement for this game, you know, get the game, get the week off to a good start against the Miami Dolphins, of course. So I go to the show, I come back, I have no idea what has happened in this game. And it's already very late. I fire it up. And holy crap was that, not only was that a bad football game, it was un-
bearably frustrating to watch Lamar Jackson and the Ravens get absolutely shut down by the exact same play over and over. And how can you not figure out how to beat this defense? What is happening here? Next Gen stats said that their safety is not only blitzed more than usual, they blitzed more than any safeties have blitzed in the history of the next gen stats era. They just kept doing that in it.
And Lamar Jackson did not figure it out. The game plan, even to start the game, the game plan of this, what was all this checked down garbage? Like these, like the short outs. What are we doing here? Baltimore stretched the field, do something. And then they kept giving the ball over and over to Devante Freeman. And it was, I was very tilted last night, having waited anxiously and stayed up.
So, I mean, I didn't finish the football game. It was basically like I lived on the East Coast because I didn't finish this game until about midnight. And I cried myself to sleep. You now have consecutive games with the Jaguars Bill's game and then this one where as a fan, you expect the second half something to change. You expect the fourth quarter something to change. The last drive, something to change. It's going to happen, right?
I mean, in that game could be so costly for them in the playoff race and the division. So, yeah, not a great. I mean, he ended up okay for fantasy because of the Dak Prescott style last couple of drive. He almost completely bailed himself out. But then, of course, took a minus two. Did you, so on the, on the Mark Andrews play, where he caught it with his legs and it somehow got overturned on replay.
Was that ever explained? I didn't see video of the ball hitting the ground. No, there was never a frame, a still frame, or a video that was ever shown to the public. How did they overturn that? I saw a frame. Did you? You saw a frame where the ball hit the ground? Yeah, I saw a frame that brought it into question, but I didn't think they'd overturn it because it was called to catch on the field. But there was a frame where he seemed to have the ball, and then he may have been jostling it while part of it touched the ground, but I didn't really think that the...
Ground affected it. I mean, most people were upset about that play. Because it looked like a catch. Yeah, it did. But be upset with the Ravens in general. And hopefully. I am. Hopefully you did the obvious thing. Hopefully you started your dolphins, started Albert Wilson and really took advantage of. Well, not my goose. Oh, Goosecicki's back. Can you hit me with the goose, man? Hit me with it. He saw the...
He led the team of targets, right? He led the team. He had seven targets. Oh, that game was the worst. That was the worst. Well, we'll try to redeem it a little bit with today's episode. You can find us on Twitter at the FF Ballers. And there is an official. There is a poll result to a question we asked on the show. Yes. That I will not be abiding by. You're dumb. Because I am my own person. And 17,000 votes will not deter me.
However, we did ask people's preference on spelling the Muth is L-U-T-H or L-O-O-O-T-H. And it was emphatically won by the L-U... Emphatically? Yeah, yeah. 56% versus... That's a big win. Versus 43 is emphatically? It's a clear victory for the L-U-T-H-Louth. Now, here's a deal. If you're writing someone got Louth, by all means. By all means.
L-O-O-O-O-O-T-H. I don't care. But if it's the mooth, the mute is leuth, it's M-U-T-H, it's official. That'll be on our shirt. I will abide. Yeah. Well, you have to design it. Oh, great. That's easy. I don't want to talk about it anymore, and you can't make me. But if I was going to, I might mention 6 for 80 for Rashad Bateman, who continues to look outstanding on every play that he makes. He looked outstanding. Now, you know, it was, it was light. It was groggy. It felt like.
The most of his production kind of came there at the end of the game. All of it came at the end. Well, that would make sense because Lamar had 100 yards in the first three quarters. Just saying where it's like every target wise as well. It was weird. The whole first half of the game was hyper-targeting Hollywood, missing him on most of those. I think Hollywood, what did he have? 13 targets. Yeah, 13 targets. They were not in sync. And then at the very end of the game, it was all Bateman on those last two drives. And.
He was successful with it. Bateman has looked really. He's passed the eyeball test for sure. But up until those last two drives, I was like, man, Bateman, I think he had like one catch or something. It was, it was just he was completely gone. And I was happy to see him show up at the end of that game. There, uh, it would have been better for the Ravens had Samuel Hawkins not returned. Well, yeah. That's how bad he was. All he did was hurt them. One catch. And then he fumbled it. And then that changed the game as well. Let's talk news.
News and Notes from Around the League, presented by Sleeper. O'Dell Beckham Jr. finalized a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams. He will join them for practice today. He hopes to make his debut on Monday against San Francisco. This move is bewildering on some levels. Deshaun Jackson just left this team because he couldn't get targeted. Robert Woods has spent time complaining about his targets.
The team has apparently said they're all in with O'Dell, and Sean McVeigh spoke to him and got him excited about his role. It's hard not to look at that and say, this might not be as good as they think it's going to be. Because if you have promised O'Dell, who is loud when he doesn't get his targets, that he's going to get them.
then you're going to be back in the baker world of I have to give him to him, and that doesn't necessarily make your team better. You had to win him over. He was deciding between multiple places. So there obviously was money given, four and a half a million, as well as, you know, hey, here's why to come here. Now, I would say this, the Deshaun Jackson not being able to get enough targets. That's because he couldn't beat out Van Jefferson. Van Jefferson's been on the field 90% of the time, and he's gone.
I mean, I would assume Odell Beckham will overtake that with the money and the wooing. But I agree with you, Andy. I don't think this is necessarily all roses for the Rams. And for fantasy, it's bad for just about everyone. Bad for Odell Beckham compared to other places he could have gone and been the dude. Bad for Robert Woods and Cooper Cup in the sense that now they're... Right for Higby? Yeah, it's just one of those things that very disappointing for fantasy. Maybe good for Stafford.
Yes, good for Stafford and could obviously be good for the Rams, but I don't look at this as a real game changer where now this bad offense is going to be great. They were already great. They were great without them. They'll be great with them. I don't know that they'll be that much better. Cam Newton signed a one-year deal with the Panthers. We're back. We're back, baby.
And not only did he sign a one-year deal, they paid him a ton of money. I mean, it could be worth up to $10 million. The $10 million is if he takes him to the Super Bowl. Normal built-in incentives that they expect them to hit will be $6 million, still a lot for the rest of the season. It's starter money. It's starter money to the tune of he's the starter over Donald. I don't see Donald coming back and being the starter.
the, you know, four or five weeks from now, unless Cam goes out there and completely collapses. Now, this week, it'll be PJ Walker as the starter. Cam might be suited up, and they might be like, okay, let's just go have Cam run the ball if Walker's not doing anything, but he's not going to be the starter this week.
