Coming to you from the fantasy jocks.com studios with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Welcome in to another episode of the show. It's the next episode. It's the next episode. What are we at, 310 or something like that? Who knows? Who knows anymore? Welcome Thursday, November 10th, 2016, also known as the day that my wife asked me to put up
Christmas decorations. Man, you're nine days late. Do you have your, do you have your tree up? Of course. November 1st, man, we get Halloween out of the way. We skip over Thanksgiving because we're putting the Christmas stuff up. Wow. It's the best time of year. I don't disagree with you. And when I was at the Costco yesterday, I purchased a large tin of those holiday butter cookies. See? It's the best. It is the best. What?
Well, it's time then. All right. What do you want for Christmas, Mike? A fantasy championship? What do you want for Christmas, Mike? Are you verified yet? No. That's all you need. That's all you need. Look, I have had the Twitter love has been amazing. The Twitter ribbing has been incredible. It's been spectacular. A couple people reached out like, hey, if you tried this, a couple people reached out and said, look, I got some people.
I'm going to talk to them. The foot glen are everywhere. They're plugged into many different channels. So if you're wondering, who knows? What's happening? If you're wondering why you haven't heard somebody go, it's because Jason's not with us this morning. He has some stuff going on. So it's a two-man show today. Myself and the unverified swine, Mike, the fantasy hitman. We're back with our Thursday episode, which means a lot. It means we've got news and notes.
the fantasy forecast. Jason was kind enough to deliver his starts of the week. So we have all of our starts of the week. Including his boom, boom kicker of the week. Oh, you don't want to miss that. And so it's going to be a good show today. Mike, I'm going to kick it off with a quick question. We're going to play a game of who am I. Let's do it. See if you can get this. Hint number one. I'm currently the wide receiver number 27. Okay. Wide receiver 27.
Wide receiver 27. Hint number two. I think I just showed all the hints. All right. I'm currently seventh in the league in targets, yet I am 25th in receptions and 16th in receiving yards. Okay. So we're talking a wide receiver who's getting bad targets, like an Alan Robinson type, where the volume is there, but...
It's just not quality. You're on the right track. Okay. You're on the right track. So we have, we've got, he's the wide receiver 27 and seventh in targets, but 26th in receptions. He's also second among wide receivers in red zone targets, many of those in the end zone. Okay. I'm formulating my answer here. Okay. Do you want another hint or do you want to take a shot? Let's give the Footland another hint. I still, I only sit at two touchdowns on the year.
The last one was from week number five. Okay. Yep. We're still working up to a guy. I know that he's getting tons of targets, but not scoring. Let's put it this way. The magic still, it just hasn't been here this year. Number five, of course, always confirms what you're thinking. We got to be talking about Brandon Marshall. We are Brandon Marshall. And that would be the Fitzmagic that is not there thus far. He's the 27th wide receiver. Seventh in targets.
generally when you see those kind of statistics, you say something's got to give, right? He's got to return to form? I think that this can continue to the rest of the season. Yeah, that's unfortunate. That's an unfortunate thing. I, you know, I was expecting much bigger things from him, but also Mr. Ryan Fitzpatrick. And we'll talk about Fitzpatrick and the matchups today, too. It's incredible in sports how you have these guys like Ryan Fitzpatrick, Derek Anderson. I mean, there's just.
It happens all the time where they're, you know, an average to below average, maybe a little bit above average player. Then they just have this one magical season where everything goes right. You get the, maybe they avoid the interception. You have that Nick Foles year where you know that they're playing above their head, but it just keeps happening. So how do you not buy in and say, okay, well, this player has taken the leap to be, they've gone from okay to now they're a very good player.
Ryan Fitzpatrick has descended back into the depths of, uh, of, of, of, of mediocrity. I was going to say, of being like the 30 second ranked passer rating on the year or something. It's got to be worse than that. Um, is Carson Palmer in that category? Of regression, of, of having that huge year. Yeah. I wouldn't put him there because we've seen several seasons of Carson Palmer, but something is, we've talked about that all year that something is wrong.
I don't know if it's his confidence. I don't know if it's the carousel of receivers and Michael Floyd not showing up, John Brown being hurt. I had a theory or heard a theory about Bruce Ariens because remember Bruce Ariens missed? He went to the hospital and he had been sick. And apparently he had been diagnosed with some stomach things that are very exacerbated by stress.
The team hasn't been the same since that game, kind of. And so they wondered if, you know, he can't coach the way he wants to coach right now or what it is. But I think something being wrong is the best summary. So before we get into the news, I want to remind you, find us on Twitter at the FFF Ballers. Find us on YouTube. And look, go enter the Megalodon giveaway. It's easy. You just go to footclan giveaway.com. We're giving away a ton of signed.

Does the end of that conclude with the Meglodon episode? You know, it is right around there. The now annual Megalodon? Because the Footclaim giveaway, it lasts for a couple of weeks. And so that'll be right around when we do a Megalodon pre- Thanksgiving multi-hour.
monstrosity we know that those bellies are going to be full we want the brains full as well that's right that's right smorgasbord of information if we tell people to listen right after the pumpkin pie they may hear only the first 10 minutes of the show so we better get everything in early so we also appreciate your reviews and support on iTunes and again really briefly i just want to
Say thank you again for all the support you've shown our dear friend. My goodness. It's mind-blowing. Those of you that have gone to Footclanhelp.com and supported. Matthew, it's, I heard from him yesterday. You know, obviously going through a lot of different things, but one of the words he used was crushingly beautiful what has happened and that you have helped the family's in shock at your support. So thank you so much. Let's go ahead and get into the news. News and notes from around the league.
Dougie? I saw your tweet. Doug Martin returned to practice. Oh, my guess who's returned? Yeah, you're when you had Doug. Doug Martin returned to practice too early to tell if he's going to be cleared to play in week 10 following the practice. To quiz Rogers is still, uh, well, he just got out of his walking boot, but didn't practice. He's already doubtful, I believe. All right. Let's say you have to lock your lineup today, Mike. Who do you put in for the running back of the Tampa Bay Volcanoes? Is it still Peyton Barber? I was going to say I really hope.
Doug Martin just takes one more week. One more week. Get your conditioning strong, my friend. Isn't that funny how it changes you? You want him back, but now that you hear he's back, you're like, whoa now. Whoa, don't really come back. Give it one more week, buddy. Well, I say that because I have beaten by my roster. So you're fine. Yeah, if you're in that situation, I guess if you can get by. If Doug Martin plays, then it's who do you go with? I mean. Right. This is what happened with Gil Slee and McCoy. McCoy.
was playing, you were stuck. If he's not playing, you knew you could roll gillisly. Well, the answer that week, when you didn't know if McCoy was going to play, and then he did, the answer was neither. Right. So we don't want that. That's exactly what we do not want. No, the answer was Reggie Bush. But if Doug Martin plays, he's going to be, today's a huge day, Thursday's practice. Yeah. Can he, are the reports still glowing that he, he handled all the work Wednesday. His hamstrings responded well. So that's.
That's going to tell. If it's Doug Martin's active, that's probably where I'm going to go if you're choosing between him and Barber. Yeah, I think that's fair. Because we haven't even seen Barber give you one of those juquiz Rogers weeks. Correct. Yeah, Barber's, he's totally a volume play this week. A reminder tomorrow we'll have in and out on the show. So we'll give you the full rundown on injury reports so you can prepare for the weekend. Concussion reports. Spencer Ware passed the protocol. Yep.
He's good to go. Mike Evans remains in the protocol, but practiced in full and is expected to be cleared without an issue. Yeah, he must be in the final stages. Also notice he's number one on your wide receiver rankings this week. Those are the initial rankings, but yeah, I love Evans. So, and if you haven't seen those, just go to the website, the fancy footballers.com, click the rankings button, check them out. We modify them all week long, but right now we have the initial week 10 rankings out if you need some decision-making help.
All right, Mike McCarthy called Ty Montgomery a three-down back. What? He says you have to get past his number, but he's a 225-pound physical player. That's the reason why I don't believe this is because he wears the number 88. Well, I mean, I think it kind of is, right? No. Okay. He didn't come into the league as a running back. No, he didn't. You're right. If he was a three-down back, he'd be a three-down running back. What have you been doing for the last couple years?
Yeah, that's a fair point. Although, could you say the same thing about, like, Oakland not playing prior at wide receiver? Whoops. Well, no, I know, I know. He was a quarterback. All right, Carlos Hyde will continue to practice in a non-contact jersey. I think this is just trending into a sit again. I don't, you know, Chip Kelly said he'll decide whether or not after practice on Saturday. So good luck on Sunday morning with that mess. Hopefully Hyde sits one more week if you have DeWan Harris. Derek Henry didn't practice unlikely to play.
Here's a big report. Pete Carroll said C.J. Pro Seis is getting going to play a lot this week against New England. I like him as a flex start. I do. C.J. Goat Sice. Oh, yeah. I'm so glad that's back. It's time. Are you burying the lead here? Kristen Michael, what do you do with him? And then we actually got some people on Twitter. Like, what? How was Chris and Michael not to keep trade cut? Chris and Michael, look, you know that I'm the, I'm one of the original truthers, but it's.
I think it's time to move on from Chris and Michael. It's not happening. We do have a chicken or egg situation here to me for Krista Michael. I know he's not been great, but they're giving him 8 to 10 carries a game. They're not committing to the running game. That's why right now he is a touchdown only play. Right. That's what I believe. And let's say Rawls is back. I don't know that Rawls can run behind this offensive line. They are the worst.
