We're a little late, but it's better late than never. Yeah, I've been a busy week. Very busy week. I am Mike, the fantasy hitman, joined with my co-host, Andy. Insert, cool nickname here. Tagline. You can call me sad this week. My nickname should change week to week. That's what I should do. Why is that? Call me sad man. Well, I think this is the really true reason is why we're recording here a day later is because we couldn't.

1:58 ↗

get ourselves out of bed after the Cardinals' performance. Oh, yes. On Sunday, which is really difficult to swallow after the start they had and to lose so many good players. I can't even list them anymore because it's really been... We are going to start 9-1 and not make the playoffs. And it is... I have to imagine that's got to be a historic collapse. Oh, there we go.

2:28 ↗

Yeah, I know. This is how I feel right now, buddy. Tragedy. Oh, man, you... But in other news, my fantasy team's playing well, so... Yeah, I'm doing all right. We, Andy and I write for fantasy pros. And so that's our credentials. I don't know what I was going to say there. I think you were going to tell them that they can find us on the fantasy footballers.com. Ah, yes. And you can go listen to the show there and check us out on Stitcher.

Leave us a five-star review if you like what you hear. We love seeing those reviews. Send in your fantasy football questions to the fantasy footballers at gmail.com, and we will be happy to answer them on the show. Yes, we will. And properly, we'll answer them properly, and you will win your league, and everyone will love you, your wife will love you, your kids will love you. Maybe. Yeah, it's possible. And you'll have the validation and hope that you never had before. I wanted to start the show with a...

personal story from us, from our league. Oh, this is worth it. I like to hear when people have unique things going on with their league. Special leagues and traditions and things like that. So I want to share with ours. We have just inducted a new way to draft for our league where the player who comes in will dead last for the season before. You then, you've heard us talk about water bets before.

3:58 ↗

And this is kind of an ultimate water bet where the loser, and we do our drafts in person, the vast majority of our league is in person. The loser. We even have an announcer. We'll be, we do. The loser will be watered by every single other team. And then they draft in those wet clothes. So those who can't do math, that's 11 other waters. That's 11 waters. Yeah, you get a bunch of water poured on you by every owner.

4:28 ↗

Essentially, you're drafting just... Sopping. Doused. Out of the pool, sopping wet. And then we're going to get some fans and blow it on. Right, right. We need to add that into the writer. Yes, it's called the pneumonia punishment. So what happened was the team who was in the last place, I would say... We should say this is our last regular season week this week that just passed. We're now in the playoffs. So the team that was in the last place, I have to imagine it was like two-thirds of the season. Right.

4:57 ↗

almost the entire time, just a... Set up to be the man. A perennial loser this season comes out, has a huge final week of the regular season, gets a much-needed win, and gets a huge point boost over the team who's in second to last place. So we went into Monday night football, and the second to last place team had Percy Harvin and needed...

5:25 ↗

Six and a half points. That's it. In our half point PPR. That's it. And we were all live blogging this on Facebook. Yeah, it took over. And it was amazing just watching this slow total creep closer and closer to the threshold to see if he could pull it off or we didn't know who was going to be wet. The situation that it even came up was insane because the person who was in last was...

5:54 ↗

behind so far. Yeah. It seemed insurmountable at the point lead, but Percy... In the end, Percy Harvin could not get it done. Percy did not get it done, and he avoided water. The second to last place guy got water. I told Troy's the guy who didn't get watered, who just barely got saved by Percy Harvin's stinking. I told him, I was really surprised when I saw him that he wasn't wearing a Gino Smith jersey. Because Gino Smith is to blame for that...

6:24 ↗

Percy Harvin performance because he had like a swing pass and like a corner route that were both wide open. He was open for a touchdown. Yeah. Smith just missed him. It was very fun. And I definitely encourage commissioners and league owners and leagues out there to start your own traditions. It's super fun to. Two punishments. You've got to have, I mean, without this. We've kind of added something every year, I feel like. We have. We didn't used to have a draft announcer. Last year, you showed up with a banner for your team.

6:51 ↗

I think we try to ramp it up every single year, but it makes it fun. The group of us, we had a fantastic night watching an awful Monday night matchup of the Dolphins versus the chess. Magic Fantasy football. We had no reason to watch that game. No one besides Dolphin fans and Jet Pans had a reason to watch that game. But we scraped one up out of the dirt. Yeah, it was super entertaining. And now our friend Josh is going to be very wet.

7:20 ↗

And very sad. Yes, enjoy that, buddy. News and notes from around the league. All right, let's talk some injuries real quick. Let's run through these. You probably know about most of them if you're setting your lineup already. So Tori Smith has a knee. He did not practice today. Andre Ellington has a hip pointer injury, which I'm leaning towards us being hometown guys. I'm leaning towards thinking he's not going this weekend. Yeah, I don't think. But it's officially a game time decision.

7:52 ↗

Rashad Jennings has an ankle injury, which some were calling minor. He missed a couple of series in the game. However, Rashad Jennings did not practice today, and the team, the Giants, signed Chris Ongo Boingo. Right, that's his official name. Agbenaya. It's never a good sign when they pick up an extra position of...

8:16 ↗

No. So you're going to have to watch that closely because a lot of teams are going to be accounting on. At this point, we're talking to teams in the playoffs. So first round, most leagues, you're in the playoffs now. And so most leagues are probably got guys that are counting on him. Hopefully you have Andre Williams. If not, you're going to have to find another option. You can swap in there really quickly. Justin Hunter and Miles Austin both ended up in the hospital this weekend. That hit. Now, Justin Hunter hit was...

8:43 ↗

rough yeah he has a lacerated spleen and he has done for the year now isn't that what uh that happened chris sims right am i remembering that right the quarterback the quarterback no he actually completely ruptured his spleen oh yeah okay yeah but um essentially yes the same same type of injury Zach metenberger injured his ac joint now it's his throwing ac joint which makes it even a more uh important thing to follow uh he's metenberg's kind of gotten some

9:13 ↗

some shine on him as a streamer option, but people are saying they think he's going to play, but I'm not trusting. I'm not trusting. Deshaun Jackson pulled a Deshaun Jackson, which is pretty much, he went down with a what's being termed a fibula contusion, a bruised leg, and he rived. It's a bone bruised. Yeah, he rised on the ground, and he was hurting and screaming, and then he went and caught a touchdown pass on like the third play from that time. But then he banged it again, and he went out.

9:43 ↗

And he did not practice today either. The news is that he... I'm not surprised. They're saying he won't practice today, but he might play. So that situation is monitored. Sounds like what Deshaun Jackson would want to do every week is just like a... Aaron Dobson, apparently if people are still using your dobson, he injured his hamstring. Sammy Watkins dealing with a hip, and Alshon Jeffrey missed practice. That's one to watch. Yeah, he missed practice today with a hamstring.

10:12 ↗

And he plays Thursday. Yeah, that's right. That's right. So I believe he's, I think he's questionable. So that's concerning. You'll have to make a decision on him really quickly here. So anybody else of note we want to... That's all I have in the notes. I can't remember seeing anything else today. Let's go through some of the studs from last week. This week's fantasy stud muffins. All right, well...

10:43 ↗

Quite a few guys stepped up last week. Colt McCoy came out and validated every John Gruden instinct. That's so crazy. I'm sorry, I said John Gruden, didn't I? Whatever. Yeah, every Jay Gruden instinct that put him in the game. So he went out and threw for three 92 and three touchdowns. Why do you have St. Louis next to him? Oh, who he's playing this week. Okay, I was like, they did not play St. Louis last week.

11:11 ↗

Uh, so he's a guy that came out and looked pretty good. Now, the concern is Deshaun Jackson's going to be gone, but Jordan Reed being back was a big help to Colt McCoy. He had nine catches for something like 89 yards, I think. I think it was over a hundred. It might have been, so. Uh, but Jordan Reed is. Yeah, nine, nine for one, twenty three. With all that use, you know he's pulling a hamstring. Yeah, it's going to happen. By the second quarter. Uh, we, we glossed over the ultimate.

11:40 ↗

Yes. Oh, ho, ho. Fitzmagic. You know. Unbelievable. You saw this coming, right? He was your start of the week? Not this week. He was, he has been in my start of the week, though. 358 yards and six touchdowns for Ryan Fitzmagic, Fitzpatrick. Did you see that video of him and his kid?

12:03 ↗

Oh, yeah. That was pretty cool. That was amazing. Yeah. And then there was... Was he six years old? Seven years old? And then there was, I saw some sports media guys. Why would you exploit your kid like them? Oh my gosh. Do you have kids? If that was my kid, I'd be like, boom, suck on this. Yeah, his kid answered some high-level math at a press conference. 90-something times 90-something, and he figured it out in about five seconds. It was epic. I guess Fitzpatrick went to Harvard.

12:31 ↗

Yeah, you would assume that. Apple didn't fall far from the tree. But still, man, if that was my kid, I'd be doing that every press conference. I wouldn't even talk. My kid's smarter than your kid. Yeah, exactly. Sean Hill also had a big game. Well, I guess, sort of. He had 183 and two touchdowns. He's playing Washington next week. I think out of these three guys, nobody's really starting there except for Fitzpatrick could be a consideration now for some people. Yeah. But I mean, if you're in the playoffs, you have a quarterback. That's what I kind of figure. But if not,

13:00 ↗

I mean, I guess you could be, okay, here's a couple questions for you. Fitzpatrick or Sanchez this week? Fitzpatrick's facing Jacksonville. Sanchez is facing the Seahawks. Wow. If you're that, I think you still roll with Sanchez because I believe his floor is higher than the Fitzpatrick floor. Fitzpatrick or Dalton? They're facing Pittsburgh at home. Dalton.

13:30 ↗

I don't like to trust him. It's hard to chase six touchdowns. Yeah, it is hard. But he did look good, and he does have Andre and Hopkins healthy and Foster healthy. Something to consider. I think Fitzpatrick, you would say is far and away the best start of those three guys, though, right? Of the three we listed, yeah, just because of matchup. A couple wide receivers worth noting. This first one is, he should be great the rest of the year. Kendall Wright.

13:58 ↗

Seven for 132 in a touchdown, and now Justin Hunter is out. He's lacerated. He's lacerated. That's just an awful word. So funny until he doesn't come out of the hospital. But, yeah, Kendall Wright had a big game, and we know they like to sling the rock around because they can't run the ball. So he's going to be a PPR machine. Kenil Wright normally catches a lot of passes. He doesn't normally score. He's going up against the Giants next week. The Giants defense is highly questionable.
