We're looking at the quarterbacks and the running backs. And we're not just going to tell you if they're good prospects, but whether they're good for fantasy football. Look, April Fool's falling on a Saturday was, it was incredible. I thought of you often.

And I saw some of the ill-fated, hilarious. Ill-fated attempts. Hilarious pranks. My son did attempt to get me, my 11-year-old. Yes. Look, children love April Fool's. They love it. What he did was he tied a piece of string to his shower curtain, and it was tied to like a big grasshopper bug. And his... Real bug? A fake bug. Okay, good. He didn't really tie it. He caught a bug. No. You try to tie a rope on a grasshopper. And he tried to... You can't wrangle him. He tried to get me when I was groggy. Like, I was in bed. I was getting up on Saturday morning. And he goes, and he's like, he did a pretty good acting job. He's like, there is something in my shower. I keep hearing a sound in my shower. And so I'm like kind of going groggy over there. He gets me the... Shut up, kid. He gets me the fly swatter. He's like, please, please.

Get it for me. And I go in there and I knew that I figured it out when he said, now open it real quick and then get the bug. And I go, I go, why would I, I literally, I go, why would I open it quick? It's going to scare the bug and I can't hit the bug. And he goes, no, dad, no, real quick, real quick. Yeah. And I go, you're trying to get me. Something fishy here. Come on, kids. We got to do better than that. Open it real quick, like he's got it while his phone is pointed at you. It was good. And then he tried to get his mom and it didn't work either. And I think, you know, good attempt. But 11 years old is the peak age for April Fool's, I think. It really should be. That's when everyone should leave it behind. But it was great because it was Saturday and I feel like it didn't have the same impact that it normally does. Nobody got you, Mike? No. Well.

I got got by Little Caesars because they put theirs out two weeks before April Fool's actually took place. What was there? The hilarious prank that it would be corn on the cob would be a crust. But this is part of the principle of what you don't like is that you should have to do it on the day. Yeah. You shouldn't get a two week buffery. Respect of the day. Great day. Did you get done? No, I agree with Mike. Not at all on. April fools, April fools is awesome, but that it falling on a weekend made it the quietest April fools that I can remember, no personal pranks around me, the social media not quite as big. I think the most important thing, though, about it turning over to April is what it means is about to be. It's gonna, it's gonna be me. It's so stupid.

It's so ridiculous. It's way too early. What did we just do? I don't know what. You're ruining it. You just jumped the shark with the joke. It's not about to be May. Oh, yeah. April 3rd. It's going to be May next. You are. You're welcome. You're welcome America. What just happened? I have to do a show with this guy. I love that it's going to be May. And you're ruining it. I know. I know. Getting it in early. I'm going to get it in often. Brace yourself. So stupid. All right. Welcome in. We've got a great show for you today. You know, people are drafting the rookies.

And as we head into the NFL draft. So it's going to be huge. You're going to love it. If you're a dynasty player, we did it. Get ready for hot takes. Spicy and spicy takes, even though Mike. You can't quite handle the spice like you used to. There will be some spice. I've had to have to cut back on my hot spicy tigs. So very, very excited about that tomorrow. Here is today's quick question. What player is most likely to lose fantasy value after the NFL draft?

I'll hop in with one that saddens me a little bit, especially considering my current draft rate of this player in underdog best ball drafts. But I think Ryan Tannahill is going to have another quarterback drafted to his team. You've seen them recently taking prospect trips. You know, they just had Hinden Hooker out for a visit, and they're doing their due diligence. It does not seem he is going to be the quarterback of the future there. And right now he is, yes, Ryan Tannahill. And so right now he's the quarterback going into week one after the draft. He might not be. He might be someone that you pretty much can't draft. And they were linked with a potential tradeup with Arizona Cardinals at number three as well, which several teams have been linked with that Cardinals pick. It seems to be the one that was.

that is most likely to move for a quarterback. They're drafting ahead of the Colts at number three. Colts in the market, several teams in the market. It'll be interesting. Lots of rumors about maybe, you know, situations like Tanta Hills or like Jimmy G. in Las Vegas where the next man up could be taken in this draft. Mike, what is the name that you'd like to bring to the forefront most likely to lose fantasy value after the NFL draft? Sure. So in the NFL draft, it feels like a running back is the easiest position to take a hit because teams frequently draft a round three running back. You're like, why did you just do that? You have good running backs on your team. They don't care. The NFL teams do this all the time. And the Los Angeles Rams are a team that they love.

just surprising people and drafting running backs when it feels like they don't need to. And I think that Cam Acres is going to have the replacement drafted this year. It's been quite a, just a career for Cam Acres of, you know, with the really unfortunate Achilles injury looked really bad to start this year. We had the rumors flying everywhere, which weren't even rumors. It was like, it was actually Coach McVeigh. It's essentially saying that, yeah, KMakers isn't going to be on this team anymore. Then nobody wanted to trade for him. And KMakers remained on the team. And then he played more. And then he was awesome for the team. So weird. Like he had like these huge fantasy football outings. He had huge NFL outings. It was so bizarre. But it feels like the replacement for KMakers will be coming in the draft this year from the Rams.

The Rams were at the point in the season where it was just, we're done. We don't care. Matthew Stafford is gone. The season is gone. So I could see that. I mean, I wouldn't call week 13 on prescriptive for Camacres Future. And the Rams have, unlike usual, usually the Rams have no draft picks. They actually have a lot of capital. So it makes sense for them to go out and get a replacement. I'm going to go with Somaget P, Ryan. Running back for the Denver Broncos. Signed a two-year, $7 million deal, $7.5 million. Three million guaranteed. We've seen the reports of Giovante Williams' recovery and how long it's going to take. This is an offense that cannot, I'm sorry, depend entirely on Somaget P. Rine. Maybe it won't be. Maybe it won't be the NFL draft that Barry's P-Rine, but they do have two third-round picks. I would not be shocked for them to be in that.

that area right there back to back in the third round that they could take one. If it's not the draft, I think P. Ryan has a bigger named competition back there. And he's 27 and a half years old. I think he's a reliable runner, but we know what Sean Payton wants to do on the ground. And I think he needs more than what he has right now. So that is my answer to the quick question. Let's hop into the news. News and notes from Around the League. Well, Marvin's going home. Marvin Jones. One year deal with the Detroit Lions. $5 million. All right. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Little baby boy. A little 33-year-old man going back home. Tim Patrick cleared to do everything. I mean, he can do anything he wants. What is that quote? That was a quote. I know. After suffering a torn ACL, he can, you know.

He can build a garage from the ground up. Yeah, you can do whatever he wants. Permits? I don't need him. Clared. Can climb a tree. Does that mean he's allowed to murder? I've cleared to do everything. Licensed to kill. He's finally above the law. He lives within the purge. It's all right. My doctor said I'm cleared to do anything. I can do whatever I want. My name's Fireball. You handed the note. Yeah. Do you know you were driving 120 and a 35? Officer, look at this. I've been cleared. He is 29 years old, under contract for two more years. We just brought him up, I think last week of potential sleeper. One of the sneakiest picks right now. Yes. Because this is still a team that despite the comments made by Sean Payton, I still think they move one of those wide receivers. It could be on draft day. Exactly.

And then all of a sudden you're looking at Tim Patrick being drafted wide receiver 76 in basketball. And he's a starter. I mean, he's like a primary top two target in the offense. Those are the things that I really like to look at. Because so much of fantasy football is not necessarily, it's this guy or this guy. It's at the beginning. It's analyzing what is the market doing wrong. And with Fireball Jones, aka Tim Patrick, aka cleared to do everything. being drafted at wide receiver 76. That is the market saying there is a 0.5% chance that Tim Patrick is the wide receiver 2 on this team. Meanwhile, Cortland Sutton and Jerry Judy, do you have those, the ADPs? I can look them up. Yeah, so look those up of like when you have a discrepancy that is that large of saying, well, this is impossible.

It's dumb. Of course it's possible. He's a good player on a good sizable contract. And this is, yeah, so Jerry Judy at wide receiver 22. Sure, he's probably, the probability is Jerry Judy is the go-to wide receiver for this team. Cortland Sutton's at wide receiver 45. But if Patrick replaces Cortland Sutton's production, that would not be surprising in the least. Meanwhile, the market is saying that that's not possible. And then I've seen this report, Dalvin Cook making excellent progress in his recovery. I saw Rapsheet retweet this report from Tom Pellisero and talk about the fact that, you know, he had off-season shoulder surgery. The quote from Rapsheet was that his dislocations are now going to be a thing of the past. He would never get hurt again. Please come trade for him. He has three years left under contract, dead cap hit of only $3 million. We just don't know where this Delvin, like there's.

a handful of these running backs right now that are huge names that have been big names and fantasy for a long time, that we actually don't know where they're playing football. And leading that list, Joe Mixon, the comments about Joe Mixon being on the Bengals were as, you know, indifferent as could be. I mean, I think it was their VP. Yeah, I think it was their executive vice president of football operations when she was asked about. Are the plans to have Joe Mixon on the roster? There was about a three-second pause. It's rough. He's on the team. He's on the team, and he's a good player. It was brutal. If you just read the quote, it sounds okay. If you listen to the answer, you go, well, so he's not part of their place. I mean, they're waiting for his own off-the-field issues. See, that's what I.

Right, they don't know the answer. And so, you know, in all fairness to her, she doesn't know what's going to happen with his current off the field situation. And there's a lot of different directions that could go. Joe Mixing could absolutely be back with the Bengals week one. I think that the way that we don't know is the same way that those inside the Bengals organization, they don't exactly know what is going to happen with Joe Mixing. Yeah, she definitely answered in a way that protected her from. any claims that she was endorsing him and any off-the-field situations. Dalvin Cook is another one. Could be back with Minnesota. He was a very good runner last year for them, had some of the biggest runs in football, but, you know, they have the opportunity to let him go. And then, you know, other running backs that are out there, Ezekiel Elliott and the rumors that we talked about last week, these are players that have made contributions in fantasy for a long period of time. No home.

For sure, just yet. And all of them could be draft day victims as well. Yeah. You know, you talk about the names we mentioned earlier, specifically mixing and cook. You might find out exactly what's happening on draft day if you don't know before then. Any other news that we need to talk about? Nothing. Hey, rookie. Welcome to the NFL. All right. We are into the 2023 rookies, the overviews. Quarterback and running back position today. The draft is on its way, ladies and gentlemen. Yeah, yeah, it's near the end of April. Like generally the good time. But what happens after that? That's when you use the button. Okay. See, there we go. See, that's how you're doing. It's going to be May. If that had been the first entry of the drop, that would have been well so. I just, I had to show.

My colleague here, that's how you do it. Okay. Thank you. I'll take notes and I will apply those notes. Try it. Try next episode to find a spot and get it in there. Okay. But we're going to go through the scouting process, talk through these quarterback relevant, the relevant quarterbacks for this upcoming draft, our fantasy thoughts on their potential destinations, what we found on film. You can get rookied out if you want, that's what I'm saying. If you just want to live there, like I don't know if there's a time I've walked into our three-person office where the three of us work and have not seen film up on Jason's screen. And I'm not talking like Avengers. I mean like game film. But it is on 8mm. Right.

Right, right. Yes, I need the sound behind me to feel like it's really worked. So I'll start with the quarterback position. And let's start with C.J. Stroud. Yep. Because he is currently our number one quarterback on the rookie ranks was not the case throughout the entire offseason here. But I think it has been the case ever since Carolina moved into the number one position. Is that fair? Yeah, I mean, before, obviously C.J. Stroud has gotten a bump up in the entire NFL draft community since that Carolina Panthers move because the betting markets and people close to the situation believe that C.J. Stroud is most likely to be taken number one. But right now, we're just talking about these prospects as talents. Before we know where their landing spots are, Mike, I know you have C.J. Stroud as your number one.

and then a gap. Yeah, a lot of people have Stroud, Bryce Young, you know, pretty similar. If Young goes one, whatever. For me, where I have my tiers of these rookie quarterbacks, it's C.J. Stroud in his own tier of he, to me, is the Can't Miss quarterback of this year. So talk to me about what gives him that separation in your mind between him and Bryce Young. I watched the Georgia game. that game as an isolation event like C.J. Stroud is the future of the position. I mean, he was so amazing in that ball game and yet wasn't the unanimous number one pick going into the opposite season, even if he's the betting favorite now due to the trade. What separates him in your mind? Is it simply the fact that he is his size compared to Bryce Young or does it go well beyond that? It goes beyond that.

for me. The size is certainly a checkmark in Stroud's favor of, you know, 6-3, about 215 pounds. While Bryce Young is, he's small. He's like Kyler Murray size, which a lot of NFL teams, they're just, they don't want a quarterback to be that size. You want a guy who's tall can see over the line. But when I'm watching Stroud, and yes, it's hard to not start a conversation talking about. a quarterback without talking about the wide receivers on his team. And the wide receivers that he has played with are just absolutely ridiculous. You have Garrett Wilson and Chris Olivae, first round picks, who already look like they're going to be stars in the NFL. Now this year, coming into the draft, you have Jackson, Smith, and Jigba, who had his big year with Stroud. He looks like he's going to be a first round pick. You have Marvin Harrison, Jr., who's going to be a first round pick next year. So yes.

He is playing with way better wide receivers than any of these quarterbacks. Maybe any college quarterback that we've seen other than, you know, Burrow because he had his two guys. But the plethora that Stroud has had has been ridiculous. But watching him just, he's, he is super accurate. And it's the decision making of making really smart and rapid decisions. Not, you know, going through the reeds and always ending up. seemingly on the right spot. You had his breakout campaign 4,400 yards, 44 touchdowns, but a 72% completion rate. That's absolutely sensational. That dropped down to 66%. The numbers weren't as madden like this year. But when I'm watching him, he's so poised, so confident, and accuracy is, to me, like, we all scat, we all have like our top thing that we're looking for when we're scouting.

And I'm more of the side of give me a quarterback who is accurate right now. Don't give me someone who the smart gurus in the NFL like, oh, I can definitely fix this player because the rate on quarterback's accuracy getting fixed compared to guys who already have it. It's clearly on the side of players who are already accurate quarterback. So that's why Stroud is up there for me. Yeah, if you're looking for a pocket passer who is accurate, who makes NFL caliber throws, has great arm strength. This isn't, you know, the rocket arm of Josh Allen, but he is not, he's not a inferior arm strength player. He makes some great throws to the outside, puts it exactly where it should be. I also think he is really, really good.

as far as passing on the run. Sure. He has the physical ability to be a more mobile quarterback, which you love for fantasy football, but that has not been something that has been an active part of his game. You know, if you're looking at his entire game log, there's some games where you see him get out and he's got wheels. He can do it. So I think he is probably the safest of all the prospects because you don't have to worry about his size with... Bryce Young. You know he's going to have the draft capital to have guaranteed years. He's very, very accurate, can make every throw. So when you're looking at safety, C.J. Stroud is the safest. He is not my number one. And I know he's not your number one, Andy. So really, I made that switch today. And so the next player we're going to talk about is actually now our consensus number one quarterback. I guess we'll find out who that is in a minute. All right.

We're talking about Anthony Richardson. You moved him. Wait, not Bryce Young. You moved Richardson up to one. I moved Richardson up to one. Now, to be clear, just, you know, we're not sitting here from an NFL draft analyst perspective. Yeah, we're talking fantasy. We're talking about rankings as they pertain to fantasy production for the future, which is why Richardson is, you know, he's at number one for me is because of his elite athleticism and what that represents is a cheat code in fantasy football. I'm going to hand the baton to Jason because I think he, you know, his doctor told him he needs to talk about Anthony Richardson for at least 30 minutes a day for his own mental health. But talk to me why you put him at the very top.

Yeah. And how guaranteed is he as a prospect? Yeah. So for fantasy purposes, if I'm a GM in the NFL, absolutely, I'm taking C.J. Stroud number one. There's no chance I would take Anthony Richardson over him. He's a very raw prospect. But for fantasy football, you just look at who you draft, right? You're going to draft Patrick Mahomes because he's maybe the greatest. NFL quarterback of all times. And outside of that, you're wanting these mobile guys. You're wanting the Lamar Jackson's and the Jalen Hertz and the Josh Allen's and people who can actually be a dual threat option, Justin Fields. And there is really, I mean, none of those guys are as athletic as Anthony Richardson. He has a rocket cannon arm. He does. That can throw the ball 75 yards. He has the body of Cam Newton.

He is faster than Cam Newton and bigger. He can be a true weapon. And so a couple months ago, it looked like, well, where's Anthony Richardson going to go? Is he going to be a first round pick? Is he going to have to sit for a year or two behind players? Now I haven't seen a mock draft where he falls out of the top five. And I think it's a virtual lock that he's drafted in the top 10 in the NFL draft. If that happens, we have a guarantee of fantasy production. I'm not saying he's the best quarterback out here. He has, Mike, Mike is pretty down on Anthony Richardson. And I don't blame him because we were watching film together. And Anthony Richardson made this just incredible throw. Just absolute, like, no, most players can't make this throw. Put it on the money, deep down the field. And then Mike goes, okay. So now you know the next two passes are going to be bad. And then we're watching because, you know, it's like good, bad, bad is at the best. And then the next two throws were absolutely.

Horrific. So bad. But for fantasy football, it really doesn't matter. He's going to score touchdowns. He's going to, he doesn't actually turn the ball over that much. He's going to run a ton. He's going to rush touchdowns in from the goal line. Here's what I'll say, though, about a red flag. Because we haven't ranked at one because we know the production, when he starts will be guaranteed. But if you're looking at a long-term dynasty perspective and you don't believe in the talent. long term of Anthony Richardson as a thrower, which will be required to be on the football field for a long period of time. I mean, he threw, he had 17 touchdowns on 54% passing last year. You're talking about the two guys he's competing with in the top five in the drafts, Stroud and Bryce Young, who are 40, you know, Bryce Young was a 47 touchdown, 4,800-yard Heisman winner throwing the football. Is it potentially short-sighted because he could be a Mario-a-like

career arc where you're drafted with the draft capital. I'm not talking about it as an athlete. I'm talking about as a we've had a lot of top 10 players that they get a couple of years. They get a shot. They're not the quarterback teams want. They turn into backups. You know, does that world, you know, you talk about Stroud being safer. That world exists for Richardson, right? If he is not a good enough passer at the NFL level, he will flame out of a starting job in a couple of years. I mean, it's just a matter of fantasy football strategy.
