Oh, so he was a top 10 completions guy? I don't know if he was top 10. I can look that up again. He was pretty close. Yeah, what I would need to see is the top 12 completion guys. Yeah, I think he was in that. And so the gap was different because of those guys like Ryan and Breeze, obviously, who were throwing it so much in so many short-yardage situations, Big Ben. So it was interesting. I've never played in a league like that. No, never even heard of them. We were point one.

So which do you take with that team and those options? So he's got luck to Marco Murray, Antonio Brown, Travis Kelsey, and Kelvin Benjamin, and he can't decide with that rookie pick. I would go Gurley. I think with Antonio Brown there, I like...

the future for Antonio Brown. He seems like one of those long life wide receivers versus one of those big guys that's going to slow down. And so, I don't know, I think his team looks like it could use the running back help a little bit more. Possibly, but I'm going to go with Cooper. I'm going to take the, I think Cooper, I agree he can do it all. And I think his floor, once Cooper really gets going, which it may or may not be this year.

But once he gets going, his floor should be very high, kind of like an Antonio Brown guy, where even if he doesn't boom for you every single week, he's not going to crap the bed. All right, so I get to split the difference here? Or, I mean, I get to decide. You sure do. And I'm going to go Cooper.

I'm going to go Cooper because this looks like a team that can win this year. And so I think Cooper gives you a better chance of winning this year than Gurley does. I don't have any problem with you going Gurley if you want to play long term, but I'm a win now guy. So I'm going to take Cooper. I like his upside in year one. I will agree with that. I will agree with that. Going for a championship this year, sometimes a Dynasty or even a Keeper League, people play for the future too much. Always play for this year if you have any opportunity.

It's pretty ironic you're mentioning that because the next question asks that. Well, there you go. He says he's in a 12-team PPR. This is from Daniel, snake draft. It's a dynasty startup. He says, last year we picked one keeper. This year, we're picking two. Next year, we pick three, and that's where they're maxing out, which is, I think, a really cool way to kind of increment yourself into a keeper league. He says, each year we randomly select draft order and then announce our keepers.

of D.T. So Demarius Thomas, C.J. Anderson and Foster, which two should I keep? And does the draft order make a difference? Give me your two picks for a redraft as well as dynasty. So he wants us to decide between those three guys in a redraft league and a dynasty league. He says he's inclined to play to win now and worry about the future in the future, which is, I lean that direction. Obviously, you'd love to do both all the time.

So Demarius Thomas, C.J. Anderson, and Foster. And I can give you my answer right out of the gate and let you guys answer here. I'm not taking two Broncos. And you guys know I'm high on Arian Foster. So I'm going Arian Foster and Demarius Thomas. And I'm doing that in redrafts and dynasties. In redraft, I would go, who, hold on. Let me pull up my rankings quick because I don't want to steer this wrong.

is somebody that I have to keep out of these three because I don't have a lot of question marks for his future. Even with Peyton going, you know, let's say he's only here for a year. Demarius Thomas is an absolute top, top wide receiver. So I keep him and then I would go with Foster over CJ for the same Bronco rule. So me and Andy are in complete agreements. We're in cahoots. I have those guys back to back. That's a bummer. Anderson and Foster? Yeah. Anderson and Foster? Yeah, by a...

Like a point. Well, yeah, so it basically is a toss-up. So does it make a difference to you that you'd be taking two guys on the same team? No, not. D.T. seems like the must take on a people are here. Yes, I'm taking to Marys Thomas for sure. And it doesn't bother me at all that they're on the same team for this year because of who they are with with Manning and their high-powered offense. They're going to, they're in contention for a Super Bowl, so they're going to be winning a lot of games.

But we are concerned about Anderson actually being a workhorse running back with so many guys on the roster. So if I have to lock it in right now, I'm going to lean Foster. It's funny because you're saying you like it this year, meaning redraft, you wouldn't mind having them on the same team. But for me, the only change that I would have is leaning dynasty.

I might go with both Broncos. Because he's younger. Yeah, because Arian Foster, I mean, Arian Foster has talked about retiring already. After this year, I mean, he could just straight up retire and there's no value, not little value or unknown value. And so I would take that risk on a dynasty. I do respect the love to win now, like we just said. Yeah. I mean, why do you play? You don't play to lose. Well, some in our league. But if you play for only the future, you're never going to play for the now.

Yep. Wise words, Mike. Yeah, you should write a book. It's amazing. This email comes in from Adam. He says he has a question about drafting strategy. He said this will be his eighth year drafting in a very competitive league and that he never goes into his draft with a plan on drafting any specific position. Good. But this year he says it might be different.

Okay. Good. Spoiler alert. Still good. He said we recently switched up our starting rosters. It looks like one quarterback, two wide receiver, two running back. One tight end, two flex. So the two flex is the real. That's the difference. He probably bumped up the flexist spot. He says his thoughts are as follows. In the first four to five rounds, he plans on taking the best wide receiver running backs available, then looking for a tight end or quarterback in the next few rounds. Or should I wait longer?

to target quarterbacks and tight ends. He also said he's not going to draft a kicker or a defense in the draft. Is this a solid strategy? Yeah, so I'm going to actually speak to that first. If your league allows it, allows you to not draft a defense or kicker, this is something that people, a lot of players don't even think of, and I absolutely recommend this, where you fill up your roster.

with two more potential sleeper guys as you wait for the season to start and for last minute news to shake things up. Like, let's say, out the Alfred Morris year, where the news came out very, very late that all this hype came out of nowhere. Alfred Morris is going to be the guy. If you were able to hold on to him, then you would have had Alfred Morris on your team. And then right before kickoff, that's when you add a kicker in a defense.

because those positions are so streamable. It doesn't really matter. So to his next point, unless you get a guy like Kelsey, a gronk or a gram, which I don't, I'm not spending the early picks on gronk or gram, so I'm really speaking to Kelsey, then I'm waiting a long time on tight end. And if you don't listen to the show, then you don't.

then you don't know, that I get my quarterback as late as I possibly can, and then I stream it. This was a 12th team? I missed that part. Did he not say? He didn't say. Oh, well, if it's 12, whatever, even if it's 14, I'm still going to stream my quarterback unless I can get, I'm going to target guys like Bradford, Palmer, and the one guy I might take the leap on.

a little earlier, and when I say earlier, I mean eighth round would be Eli. But other than that, I'm going to wait and I'm going to try. I'm going to get as many lotto tickets on those prime positions of wide receiver and running back as I can get. Okay. Yeah, I'm fine with that. I think that I've never employed that strategy of drafting, you know, positional players and leaving your roster.

What I'm looking for there is I'm just looking for value. So when I pick and a quarterback's on the board, it's just a matter of if this is a quarterback that I think should have gone a round ago or two rounds ago or something and he's sitting on the board, then I'll take them because I know that I'm able to get more value out of my wide receivers than running backs around them. I waited long enough to get a good value on the quarterback in this round. So I'm just looking for value there. And with me with tight end, we kind of spoke to this earlier. I just don't see much.

To me, it's not like one of those tight ends in the middle rounds. I'm like, ooh, this guy's a six, and he's definitely, you know, oh, man, I can get him in the eighth. I just don't have those guys on my list this year. So Russell Wilson in the fifth, are you going to pull the trigger on that? If it's a four point and six point touchdown, you know, four points for quarterback. Yeah, then I would. If otherwise, no.

Okay, well, Matt Ryan in the fifth. Yeah, I like Matt Ryan this year a lot. Yeah, I think we're all pretty high on Ryan. So I might think about Ryan in the fifth. I'd prefer the sixth, because there's some talent in the fifth round that I'm... At other positions. Yeah. Well, Matt Ryan's a great, a great guy to target because right now his ADP is actually in the sixth, and that's a guy I would take in the fifth. So if you can grab him in the sixth, great. Good value.

Kyle wants to know, he says he's been practicing mock drafts on fantasy draft wizard.com. Good for you. Oh, well, that's what us Groton men should be addicted to.
