Nobody's life is exactly the same. And that's why State Farm gets to know you, not as a policy number, but as an actual person. So they can help personalize a coverage plan that's just for you. Whether it's game day or just another Tuesday, State Farm has you covered.
Hey, Foot Clan, thanks for joining us on a great 2015 season. Just wanted to take a quick second and thank all the sponsors that have helped support this show. We are an independent podcast, and we are supported solely by our sponsors and by you, the listeners, on Jointhefoot.com, our fantasy football community. It's been a very fun year. We're going to keep it going. Let's get you your fantasy titles. To the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
Welcome in, welcome in. It's our normal intro. You can't, you know, show the unicorn every day. Well, there's a mystique of the greatness that was the intro for yesterday's show. And you've got to let that rest as a one-time, a one-off. I greatly underestimated the impact that that intro would have on our Twitter feed.
That went over very well. People enjoyed that. So that was a lot of fun. We are a two-man band again today. This is Andy Holloway, joined by Mike the Fantasy Hitman, right? Hello. Jason is unfortunately ill. He's disturbed. He is down with the sickness. I think he put all of his kind of, you know, you know, your immune system can go down high-stress situations. I think all last week is paranoia about losing to me.
got the better of him. He had nothing left. Yeah, he was on full tilt for at least half the week. It was disturbing, to say the least. It was entertaining to watch. Yeah, yeah. I won't get into it too much, but let's just say he was mentally unstable. Is that fair? More than normal? Yes, yes. And now it has turned into a physical manifestation. Right, yeah. So he's home ill, and we told him don't come into the studio because we don't want none of that.
Before Christmas. We don't want none of that. We don't want none of that. So we've got a good show for you today. This is our Tuesday show, our waiver wire show. We've got a ton of news and notes. You need to know what's going on so that you can prepare for your championship game or your third place game or some of you are in the semis with the week 17 games. So we've got it all. We got our streaming quarterbacks today. We have, we've got a good show. Yeah. I'm very, very excited to talk about waivers.
Yeah, waivers will be fun. And you can check us out on Twitter at the FF Ballers. Visit our YouTube page and subscribe to the channel. We will have content all year round, so we will not be stopping when other podcasts may say, hey, I need a six-month break from football. We say, no, you do not. You need a zero-month break from football. If football could go year-round.
The world would be a better place. More peace on earth. Goodwill to wars have ended. I'm not sure peace on earth is the right theme with the Norman O'Dell Beckham Jr. situation. People are threatening people with bats, Mike. Yeah, the funniest thing I saw on that yesterday was immediately somebody started a Panthers bat Twitter account and was tweeting out apologies to O'Dell Beckham as the bat. It was very funny.
I'm just surprised we're here today. We should be ill after losing one of our favorite players and one of the best players in football yesterday, Tyran Matthew. Yes. And, yeah. We being Cardinal fans. Yeah, I was going to get into my bad beat, but let's do the quick question first. All right, quick question of the day. There are two of them. Yes. I'll just go with both. One, Mike, this should be an easy one for you, right? How many touchdowns will Doug Baldwin catch this week? The only possible answers are two or three?
Two or more. That's the only options. You got to go. He's got the Rams. Got to go with two. He's been incredible. 13 on the year. 10 in the past four weeks? That's what it is. 2.3-2-3. We normally say stay in the flames with Doug Baldwin on this situation. You'll burn yourself. These aren't the flames. You are full on.
Center of the Sun. No, you're Dr. Strange Love, and you have climbed upon that nuclear bomb. You are waving your cowboy hat in the air, and you are riding and screaming to a championship. I mean, he might bring some people a title on the back of Doug. He is. It's happening. All right. So you had one, too. You prepared one. Yes, my quick question of the day. This is more of like a trivia type of a thing for the listeners. I have been a top tight end, top 10.
tied in the last three weeks, and I'm only owned in 13% of leagues. I'll give some people the chance to think about that for a second. A top 10 tied in the last three weeks. Is it Jimmy Graham? No. Is it Jeremy Shockey? Oh, Jeremy Shockey. That takes me back. I know who it is. Go ahead. It is Will Ty. The Tie Fighter.
Absolutely. And I especially wanted to point him out at the top here with an impending suspension for Odell Beckham. We'll tie. If you need to tie it in this week. We'll talk about him a little bit later. Sneaky, sneaky. Could be very, very sneaky. Yeah, and you should be able to get him because I just don't think there haven't been enough time to process what he's doing. And yeah, top 10 tight in three weeks in a row. And far less people scrambling to the waiver wire. Yep.
Yep. So, all right, every week we like to read a review from the listeners, your reviews on iTunes, on Stitcher, wherever you're listening. They help make this show what it is, and we really appreciate them. It's been actually very humbling and awesome to see how many people have had success, and for me, have come back from kind of bad starts to the season to ride their way all the way into title games or into the semifinals. I heard Ride the Whale. You heard Ride the Whale?
It's been really encouraging for me to hear people ride the whale. I'm trying to translate that into something relevant for fantasy, and I just can't do it. I'm just imagining somebody riding a whale to a fantasy championship. Okay, well, we'll get somebody to Photoshop that for your entertainment. So let's go ahead and read, run. Read a review today. Reviewosaurus regs. This one comes in from Kane the Abel. It's entitled Fantasy Cuisine Extraordinaire.
The fantasy footballers provide a daily dose of fantasy advice along with a healthy helping of fantasy vegetables. Heat it all up in the fantasy flames and serve it piping hot. It's the complete fantasy meal you need to be a fantasy champion. If you started out, or I started out as a fantasy loser, and now I'm deep in the fantasy playoffs. Fantasy! Yeah, as you say, the word fantasy was in there a lot.
Yeah. And it sounds like you're doing well. So thanks for that. Kane the Abel. We appreciate your review. Let's go ahead and get into the news. News and notes from around the league. All right. There is a lot of news. And whenever there's a lot of news, I want to cover it both fast and thoroughly. So that, you know, it's impossible to do both. But let's talk about Oda Beckham Jr. Yes. That's the breaking big time news. We might have to linger on this for a little bit because I got... That's fine. I got some talking to do. Well...
Let's do that then because Oda Beckham Jr., you know, we said yesterday on the show, likely to be suspended. The news broke later yesterday, suspended for one game. The news on the appeal, he's going to be going to appeal. That should be handled today or tomorrow at the latest. We will know whether he's actually available for that game. My gut tells me he is out. You cannot tolerate that. I agree. You got to, if you're an O'Beckham owner, you need to be prepared that he's going to be out.
And generally, we're a very fantasy-focused show. But I was watching after the game last night. The Monday night game. After the Monday night game where Ray Lewis, Steve Young, Trent Dilfer, these guys, they always do a wrap-up. And I like those guys. I like the banter between the four of them generally. But they started talking about Odell Beckham last night. And it was Ray Lewis saying,
He regularly talks to Beckham, says, this is not who Old Deb Beckham is as a person. That, you know, this is not who, him as a guy, as a person as his character. And then he launches into how he's very disappointed with the Giants, that his teammates did not come to his aid, that his coach did not come to his aid. And then Trent Delfour. Yeah, I mean, it's on the coach. You got to, you got to.
Pull that guy out. It's on his teammates. You've got to tell him to settle down. Pull him out of that fight. Even Steve Young. Everyone was passing the blame to everyone else except the guy who almost broke Josh Norman's face. No responsibility. None whatsoever. And I was just thoroughly disgusted with, like, you got to have some accountability. Odo Beckham messed up. Can he fix it? Absolutely. Well, and we said this before the show. If it were...
If he wanted to do what's best for his brand, name, and as a human being, genuinely, he should have come forward and not blamed other people and just say this. And I understand you might still need to appeal, right? Because your team needs to win and maybe you have some grounds for appeal, right? But part of that process can be taking responsibility for ridiculous actions on the field as opposed to being patted on the back and say, look, there are all these outside circumstances that cause me to do this. I mean, this is not a one-time behavior.
This is something we've seen multiple times. You showed me a video right before. I don't know if you retweeted that. I did. Where he blows a guy up for no reason whatsoever and then hides behind a referee to avoid the repercussions of that. It doesn't mean he's the bad guy for his life. It means he should come forward as a human being and say, look, I'm responsible for this. I made a wrong decision. It's going to change on the field. If you come forward with an appeal with that, maybe it goes your way. Maybe it doesn't. But you know what? Moving forward,
people are going to respect the person you are and the player you are. Yeah, it just was, it was some ridiculous protecting of a superstar from... That's how it felt to you. Yeah, it very much felt like that. So fantasy-wise, if you own him, you're in trouble this week. If you don't own him and you're playing against him, you're probably doing a tap day. Merry Christmas. Somewhere. So this is fantasy football, the polar emotions of that situation.
Now, if you owned him, Mike, after saying all that, and he was not suspended, you'd sit him down for, you know. And no, I would not. I would play him. All right. I would. Separate it. You'd separate it out. Here's, I mean, I get, I don't blame people if they want to do that. We had that whole situation last year with, with some players like Peterson. Oh, with Adrian Peterson. And I don't blame people. If you want to do that, that's how you play. I have no problem with that. I just.
You mean to sit him down? Yeah. Yeah, it's a slippery slope thing because we don't know. I mean, this is not a personal game. This is a statistical game. I'll tell you what I've done in our League of Record. I got so disgusted with my team. I'm benching all of them. Well, I made sure you could do that. All right. Hey.
DeNard Robinson, foot injury. They say it's not serious. You need to monitor this this week. I suspect T.J. Eldon will be back, but we need to see the reports on whether Robinson or Yeldon or somebody else is the running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Because even though DeNard did not have an incredible game, he still gave you a baseline last week, didn't get in the inside. He took 100% of the running back touches. That's a very high percentage. That's up there. And he gets to play the Saints next week. If you watched the game last night, Drew Brees.
played on one foot. Had a pretty impressive comeback on one foot. Couldn't finish it, but mostly because, man, they couldn't get in at the end of the half. That was tough to watch. In a protective boot, we'll have an MRI. Drew Breeze might not be available next week. That would be a big loss for people. I mean, against Jacksonville Jaguars, that is a tasty matchup for a championship for a guy that people have been riding. Breeze has been good since he started very slow.
