Fantasy Football Podcast 2016 - Starts of the Week, Week 13 Matchups, Boom-Boom!

Give me Andrew luck. I've got Andrew luck. I'm starting him. All right. Let's move to running backs. Andy's running back is Theo Riddick. I know you like this one because you wanted to take it. This is what I wanted to be my start of the week. He's somehow averaging more fantasy points per game than David Johnson. There's going to be a lot of points. That's that's Andy's stat. So you put that vetting on Andy. I'm just reading. I'm going to Ron Burgundy here. That can't be true. Is that true, Andy? Is that true? That that.

Theoretic is averaging more fantasy points per game than David Johnson. You wrote that down. And I've put it in there. Look, that needs to be heavily vetted. There's a, I'm sure, a lot of NyQuil running through. We talked about how it was Jared Goff is the first quarterback to throw three touchdowns against the Saints this season because running backs are destroying them.

Running back, you're getting unbelievable fantasy production against the Saints. So I love this. I love Theoretica as a running back one, especially if you're in a half or full point PPR. And he's getting the snaps. Yeah, I think it's a good pick. So since that's Andy's and you couldn't have it, who did you end up going with? I'm going with Devonta Booker. Look, 24 carries, the last two games, 76 plus rushing yards in those games. Fantasy players have the, the shine is off of Devante Booker. You had him.

tearing it up in the backup role with C.J. Anderson there. Everyone thought the golden ticket was found when he turned into the starting running back. He thought, oh, this is spectacular. I got a running back one. Then he had a couple down games. Maybe Devante Booker isn't necessarily that complete guy who is a three-down guy. He's going to wear the defenses down. But he's been good. The last couple of weeks, he's been spectator.

Spectacular was, that's hyperbolic. But he's been very good. Gets to take on Jacksonville. We talked about how good the passing defense is for Jacksonville. The running defense is bad. You can run on them. So I just, I like Booker to get the volume of carries. I like him to be a solid running back too. No, I like that a lot. All right, I'm going to go over to a guy I mentioned earlier for my running back start of the week. And it's Carlos Hyde. You might be looking, if you're on ESPN and you see the opponent rank is fourth.

Right? Chicago is supposed to be fourth best. That's dangerous. That's red. Yes, that's red. That's like, oh, man, do I start him? The Chicago's not giving up a lot to running backs. But this is a different style offense, and it's a different defense, really, with some of the injuries recently. Carlos Hyde, I've said it the last two weeks. He is an RB1. He's not a high-end RB2. I think he is one of the top 12 running backs of fantasy football to have right now. On the season when he is...

played the actual full game and not been injured. Do you know how many times he has had less than teens in his carry count? Less than 13. 13. Zero. Zero. And most of the time, I mean, he's got, you know, a game with 23, a game with 21, a game with 22, a game with 19. And then if it's not going the way where he can get those, you see him involved in the passing game, five catches or six catches. He is...

used a lot. He's the centerpiece of this offense. We were just talking about this Chicago game. I think the scoring can get out of hand. I just need someone to take a good lead early. And I think Carlos Hyde is going to be in for a big fantasy game. Andy's wide receiver start of the week. He's going with Tyreek. The freak. Mystique. Shaique. Make some. I was going to, but I was, I was. Is squeak a word? Squeak. Squeak. Squeak.

Oh, squeak, basketball. I heard Joel's going on a squeak. Tyreek Hill taking on Atlanta. There should be a lot of points going up on the board. I agree with that. He right now he is, he is a focal point of the offense. We've seen the explosiveness. That cannot be denied. And he does have the note. If Macklin sits again with the groin, he becomes a must start. I don't know how Andy feels about him if Macklin is a full go when you're talking that Tyreek is.

Still not in every snap, not an every down player. So I don't know if that moves him down for him. But as of right now, if Macklin sits, Andy loves Tyreek Hill. Who do you got at wide receiver, Jay? At wide receiver, I have a guy that we actually need a water bet button here for because we made one beforehand. That's going to, you talk about him. I'll find the button. All right. Andy vehemently disagrees with water bet. Brandon Cooks needs to be started in your lineup this week.

And I'm on board. He's a must start. Yes. Andy disagrees. We have a top 15 water bet as to whether or not Brandon Cooks will finish the top 15. I am saying start him. Look, when a guy puts up a full goose, a zero, it is very hard. A goose. A goose. Wait, is it a goose? Yeah. When he puts up a zero, it's hard to start him the following week. But when you've got a squeaky wheel.

And Sean Payton might not buy into the squeaky wheel argument, but Sean Peyton's not the one in charge when they're out there on the field. It's Drew Breeze. And Brandon Cooks this year has been the clear number one wide receiver for Drew Breeze. The game plan just didn't work to get Cooks involved, and they didn't need it to. Now, they might not need it this week because it's a fantastic matchup for Brandon Cooks. But that's never a bad thing, right? Like having a great matchup isn't like, oh, sit your guys.

This matchup is too good. They might score too many points. Brandon Cook's, start him. He's going to get the passes as the squeaky wheel. Detroit, Breeze at home, enough set. My wide receiver, I talked about this at the beginning of the show. I'm taking a little bit of a risk here because I'm home with Stefan Diggs. He's coming off the injury. He's been practicing. I expect him to play.

And I think that the change in the offense is the real deal for Minnesota. Since Norv Turner stepped down and you have the West Coast coming in here with the short passes, he had 13 receptions in the back-to-back weeks. They took on Arizona the next week. He got shut down by Patrick Peterson. You know who's getting shut down by Patrick Peterson? Who? Absolutely everybody. Everybody. You don't start your wide receiver ones against Patrick Peterson. Julio Jones shut down by Patrick Peterson. So that's...

I don't mark that against Stefan Diggs. Sure. That's not a negative to me. That's just life against Patrick Peterson. So I'm going to chase these points. I'm going to chase these receptions of the Dallas D.Bs. They can be beat. We talked about Dallas is giving up almost the most receptions per game.

And you get a guy who's going to get high volume of receptions? Yes. Give it to me. It's risky, but I actually do like the pick. I think it's good to remind people what Stefan Diggs was doing. And if he's back and he's healthy and you're in a PPR, it's a great play. And he's tight end. And moving there is C.J. Fedorowitz. And actually, I think this is a good, you know, we should say this about Brock Osweiler. I think Brock Osweiler would be better if all of his receivers were like six foot seven.

And he doesn't have to throw the ball down to the ground. And honestly, he's pretty good throwing to his tight ends. I feel like- Especially Fedorowitz. Yeah, I mean, those he seems to be able to make. So Fedorowitz against Green Bay, they're 25th against the tight end. He should be good for, you know, three-day catches. He's not going to crap your team. I think Fedorwitz is an okay play here. Yeah, I like it. And I'm going to go with Vance McDonald. I'm staying in the flames. He's got Vance in his pants.

Makes him do the boogie dance. There you go. I'm staying in the flames. 84 yards, 50 yards, 46 yards, 60 yards with a couple of touchdown receptions in those games. Colin Kaepernick is playing well. And part of his playing well has elevated Vance McDonald, who is a huge play guy. You saw the 75-yard touchdown against Carolina in week two. He is a gifted, gifted athlete.

And if Colin Kaepernick is going to play at a decent level as a quarterback, I think Vance McDonald can get it done. Even in this, Jason talked about how he likes this matchup against the Bears, how if the points start coming, he thinks that the dam will explode and we'll get some points put on the clock. Yes. So I like Vance McDonald here. And I bet that Vance McDonald is on your waiver wire. Yeah, he is almost certainly on your waiver wire for me. And I went with Vance McDonald because you took.

My other start of the week. Yeah, this is, look, I'm starting two guys as my starts. Yeah, you are. I'm telling you, start them. You must start these guys who put up goose eggs last week. The second one here is Eric Ebron. The goose is loose. The goose is loose. Eric Ebron disappointed everyone in an epic way against Minnesota last week. Zero receptions, zero yards, zero touchdowns, obviously. That would be amazing. He could have ran one in. Well, he has. There you go.

But I'm saying if he got zero receptions and managed to score the touchdown with zero receptions because he didn't catch the ball. Yeah, well, that's where I was saying he could have ran it in. But if he did run one in and he still. Okay. All right. Eric Ebron is the guy I'm starting this week. The reason why is because he is still an extremely talented. He was, you know, we've said this before, but sometimes you forget, he was drafted at the 10th.

pick in the first round because the guy is a great athlete. They need him and they have used him on the season. He has several games with four receptions, five receptions, a couple of seven reception games. When you're talking about tight end numbers, those are great. Yes, the zero is bad, but that's not going to be every week. That was Minnesota. Now you're going up against the New Orleans Saints who have certainly been beat at the tight end position on a regular basis. I think Eric Ebron is safe and I just want to tell people.

because I've had a lot of questions saying, like, man, do I, do I start him after what he showed last week? Yeah, they want to hate bench him. Eric Ebron, before the goose egg, 79 yards, 92 yards, 70 yards. He's involved in the passing game. I agree that he's a must start. Yeah, my, uh, my starts of the week are all like bounce. You like the bounce backs? All right. We're running a little bit over, but we cannot, we cannot deprive the foot clan.

Jason Moores, ironclad, locked and loaded, 100% guaranteed boom, boom kicker of the week. All right, Jay, who do you got? Who's going to boom, boom? I'm putting a little bit of Bailey's in the coffee this week. Dan Bailey. Dan Bailey is, first of all, he's one of the best kickers all the time. If he was on a different team, you'd be talking about him instead of...

instead of Guskowski or Venetary. He, you know, he is just in real life a great kicker. Then you have a matchup here with an offense that is excellent against a good defense. And Minnesota is 21st against the kickers. I think this offense is going to be able to move the ball. It's hard to punch in those touchdowns against Minnesota. And more importantly, most importantly, he is playing on Thursday night football.

for the favored team. Yeah. And goodness gracious, we're not, we're not jumping off that fire. You ride that snake to look crashes. Ride the snake. All right. That's it.
