A host champion opens another Listener League seat

The hosts project that all three could occupy three of the six Listener League playoff spots and explain that if one of them wins the league, another place becomes available for a listener the following season.

Monday Punday reads listener damage with sophistication

The recurring Monday segment reads listener-submitted player puns in a mock-sophisticated manner, including Breece Hall of Shame, Kenneth Walker the Turd, and Fart Andrews; social channels collect entries, and at least one weak pun survives only because Christmas is close.

moment

Mike denies dark magic and remembers the Senator button

When Zach Ertz's torn ACL clears a path for Mike favorite Ben Sinnott much like Trey McBride's earlier opportunity, the hosts accuse Mike's magical season of dark magic. Mike rejects the premise, rediscovers his 'I am the Senate' button, and insists the injury not be put on him.

Andy's multi-league bad luck reaches a minus-20 baseline in one league

After selling during a lost League of Record keeper season, Andy faces Tony Pollard and Blake Corum when they finish second and third among running backs. The hosts say he is the most-scored-against manager in almost every league, and Andy calculates that one league's opponents score roughly 20 points per week above expectation.

Jonathan Icarus Gannon touches the sun

An unlabeled Cardinals grievance wishes Jonathan Gannon an astronaut career in outer space, specifically as the first explorer to land on and touch the sun, before paying off with the mythology name Jonathan Icarus Gannon.

Episode notes

The hosts explain a Listener League wrinkle directly relevant to future applicants: if all three make up three of the six playoff teams and one becomes champion, another entry spot opens for the following season. The weekly Monday Punday segment turns listener submissions into a deliberately sophisticated parade of names such as Shoulder Santa, Christmas Watson, Breece Hall of Shame, Kenneth Walker the Turd, and Fart Andrews; submissions arrive through the show's social accounts, and a weak seasonal pun is admitted only near Christmas. Mike's attachment to Ben Sinnott becomes a dark-magic accusation when Zach Ertz tears an ACL, echoing the Trey McBride path; Mike objects, forgets that he has an 'I am the Senate' button, then refuses responsibility for the injury. Andy's 2025 fantasy misery is quantified: after selling for future keeper value in the League of Record, he faces Tony Pollard and Blake Corum when they finish second and third at running back, is the most-scored-against manager across almost every league, and estimates that opponents in one of those leagues run about 20 points per week above expectation. The Cardinals grievance becomes a physical fantasy in which Jonathan Gannon is celebrated as an astronaut, sent to touch the sun, and renamed Jonathan Icarus Gannon.

Well, I want to, what was the schedule? What's his upcoming schedule? Don't do that. Giants. Yeah, okay. 84 yards for quench on junk, Jenkins, was not, was not that bad. The one I'm, Jenkins? The one I'm worried about right now is probably Breece Hall, simply because we're going into the fantasy playoffs. I don't know that they have a quarterback. Very similar to like Jonathan Taylor, like, losing Daniel Jones hurts him. tremendously. You're going to put 11 guys in the box and just be like, all we got to do is stop him. And Bruce Hall's like the last man standing. And even if he gets 20 opportunities, don't know if it's enough. He plays in Jacksonville against Jacksonville, very good defense. So how does John Doe come in at quarterback and not throw the ball to Breece Hall? Because you get the ball and you go, I'm scared. Yeah. That's why I, and I'd be terrified.

55:11 ↗

And Brees Hall is awesome. It's like his superpower. It might be better in the target game when you're not coming in midway through a game unexpected. Give him some practice. Give him, you know, a strategy of checking down to Breeshall. We should be worried about Aschen Genti. He plays Philly and Houston on the road the next two weeks. You should be very worried. And you don't even know of his Gino. Yeah, could it get worse? Yeah, it can get worse than Gino. Yeah. For everyone who always like, get that quarterback out of here. Yeah, we have a, Minnesota has a story for you. His name is Max Brasmer. Oh, man. Big names in the wide receiver duds, by the way. Jamar Chase. Yeah, T. Higgins. Justin Jefferson. Tehiggins. Abuka crushed Jefferson in production. Crushed him. Two for 15 versus two for 11. I mean, like Jamar Chase, no, I'm not concerned in the slightest. If you played Chase Jefferson at Buka in your lineup this week, I want to see the screenshot at Andy Holloway on Twitter.

56:07 ↗

Because you must have felt really good going into the week. So Justin Jefferson against Dallas this upcoming week in your fantasy football playoffs. Can you do it? You can. Should you? I don't think so. Okay. I'm using the, okay, Mr. Well, no, I mean, look. I don't know, can you? I thought you could this week. I thought you could this week. That's what I mean. So it's Dallas. And I think the Dallas defense. Dallas is the worst. They might be a little bit better than Washington. But not their passing defense. Their defending of quarterbacks and wide receivers is still, and no matter what category you break it down to, even recent weeks, they've struggled. I think they've never not given up points above expectation to quarterbacks unless they did this past week. Justin Jefferson will be the scariest start of everything makes sense. Nine just had.

57:02 ↗

Like, I think it's first complete game, even though, and if you watch it, I mean, there's so many times where you're just, you're screaming at the television. That game. How do you not see the wide open, wide receiver? The reason I would do it. I'm going to officially say I would do it. The reason I would do it is because this was Minnesota defensively dominated the football game. They had multiple interceptions, turnover, short fields. McCarthy had to do stuff for about a quarter and a half. That's really all he ever had to do. Dallas is going to score a million points.

57:31 ↗

They always do. They're going to compete. Hopefully. I don't think we'll have a lot of Justin Jefferson questions next week. Not because of the number one question. But you have to keep in mind, you have to be in the playoffs. Yeah. So if you had Justin Jefferson, that part is true. You probably don't have any questions because your season is done. I mean, that's just the truth. You've been starting him and he's been just L, L. L. Junk. Gwinch on junk. Oh, real quick, to get back to Ashen Genti, because you were talking about this, you said you're worried about them, whatever, tough schedule coming up. I just was, look, Ashen Genti, first round, top of the first round, rookie running back. Or seventh round pick, Kyle Munungai. Oh, man. Rushing yards on the season, 665 to 648. Monongai has 17 fewer yards than Ashen Genti on the season right now. Where's Woody Marks?

58:25 ↗

Woody Marks is right there. Woody Marks is 554 on rushing yards, but obviously he didn't really get the work until recently. Yeah, you just named two playoff teams, and that is not what Las Vegas is. Trayvion Henderson, 625, he's right there. Didn't play in the first half of the year. You have to have your offensive line in place before you draft the top 10 running back. Yeah. Well said. It's been proven. It's like, well said. Sometimes it will work for you. There's exceptions to every rule, but that. If you build your offensive line, you can succeed with a fifth round running back. That is also being proven. That's when you go to the running backs don't matter. But it's like if you put Ashton Genti behind a superstar offensive line, he would dominate. And he would be better than Monongai and Marks. Yes. In the same situation. But when you don't have it at all, you can't expect it to solve your running game, drafting a really good running back. Devante Adams' worst fantasy game of the year. Four for 29. He was.

59:24 ↗

Not targeted inside the five, but he did have two back-to-back end zone targets on the first drive of the game, and they somehow didn't work. I'm not worried about it. George Pickens, we saw the Thursday night effort. It wasn't great. Chris Olavet, three for 30. Surprising. Yeah, it was disappointing. That was that rainy weather game, so whatever. Rashi Rice, I mean, four for 34 dropped a tough one. It was the whole chiefs. I think Kareem Hunt got a touchdown, right? And they just, they could not handle the, the Houston defense. They were down. Their, their offensive line was. Yeah, they, yeah, they lost their left tackle to first play the game. Yeah. And when, when you came in with offensive line struggles, then you lose your tackle and you're playing the Texans. That is tough sledding. Kelsey, Mark Andrews, Tyler Warren, just two for 15. Uh-oh. A little worried about this quarterback situation for Tyler Warren in the playoffs. Um, that's.

60:20 ↗

That's Papa Josh from Falcon, Tyler Warren? Are you worried about that Falcon? Yes, thanks. Would you rather have Tyler Warren or Mark Andrews next week at Cincinnati? Mark Andrews. Let me ask you one more follow-up. Would you rather have Blake Corum this week's number two finisher or the guy you have Kyron Williams? Probably Corum. I mean, I'm kidding. No, I was actually thinking about this. No, it's Kyron is the answer, but they've said they're going to conserve him for the playoffs. But Coram's the NFL player. The NFL playoffs. The next three weeks are fantasy playoffs. I do wonder. Didn't Corum have the huge run at the end of the game? Yeah, but he had. Monster run. No, I know. I know he was involved. He was dominating before that. But it's like the, that's so much of your production is one carrying when it was already in the blowout. It wasn't. What was that touchdown run? I mean, 48 yards.

61:10 ↗

A 48-yard touchdown? 48-yard touchdown. He had 120 yards and two rushing touchdowns, and he got, I guess he still only had 33%. Kyron was still great. Kyron was top 10 running back on the week, and then they blew him out, and then Korm got more work. It just freaks me out for fantasy playoffs that any snaps go to Blake Korn. Sure. That's all. Yeah. Because he's been really good. There you go. Tight ends, though. Those are disappointing. Darren Waller, three targets, one for 13. That one was a bummer. They were dominating this game on the ground. again. Oh man. And it's funny, you brought up Ollie Gordon. Yeah. And I think he scored. He did. He was totally fine. But it was Jalen Wright, who really dominated the touch. I think he had over 20 carries. And they just ran all, all over them. I mean, it was. Yeah, Jalen Wright. Currently the running back five on the week, 24 for 107 with a score. Breaking news. Yeah, that's fair. Not normally breaking news, but on this show on this day. When the playoffs are on the line.

62:12 ↗

CD Lamb. Which way is it going to go, Jay? Oh, my gosh, I haven't seen it. How did we not? That's terrible camera work, by the way. You should have been right on Jason's camera. Okay. CD Lamb. Now, you don't know what I'm going to say. I have no idea, but this matters. It's CD Lamb blank, so we'll play the like, what is that called? Fill in the blank. Fill in the blank. Hang man? No, what's the book where you got to fill in the word? Madlips? Thank you. Madlib. CD Lamb. choose your own adventure uh cd lamb blank in concussion protocol it's a descriptive phrase is in no no it's more than that uh cd lamb cleared no progressing nice nice yes please who okay he is progressing nicely that is fantastic there is not one percent of jason that thinks he's losing this week oh there is like 82 percent of jason that thinks he's losing then there's a hundred percent that has hope

They could go either way. I had no idea. Yeah. Yeah. That could have been. I mean, you might have them back. I need them. And isn't it? I lost Rome. It's Minnesota. I lost Pittman.
