Mock Draft Battle: Fantasy Hitman vs Big Shimmy - Fantasy Football Podcast for 7/1

If I realized Cam was not a good quarterback last year, and you could say, well, then he did have 12 rushing touchdowns. Yeah, goodness gracious. His final year at Alabama, he had 22 receptions and double-digit receptions in three of his four years, which...

He didn't really, you know, he's Alabama. So as a freshman, you're really not seeing the field very much. So he has that skill set. And right now he is going at the back of the seventh round. Like that's fantastic. The running back 34, he is not in that zone of the fourth round, the fifth round, where you're passing on really high level wide receivers at that point. And he's in that statistical and probability area where.

those running backs really do help your team because you're so stacked everywhere else and you're starting to take your shots around the eighth round. Yeah, I mean, you make a strong argument in the sense that he's going after the important wide receivers. And so you can win when you pivot. I mean, we're going to do a mock draft today. And you're going to see we're going to end up probably grabbing a bunch of those wide receivers. And eventually you've got to pivot back to running backs. And that's when it's like, it can get dicey in those seventh, eighth, ninth round when you're looking at running backs. Look.

He's going to be the starter. I still don't want him. Really? Well, yeah, because I think Cam starts the year. And if that's the case, I think Damien is going to go out and maybe he'll have a great game. Maybe he'll get 90 rushing yards. But if he gets 90 rushing yards and he doesn't catch a pass and he doesn't get the touchdown. Yeah, nine points. Nine points. Nothing. That's so brutal, man. I know. It's kind of not fair. It's not fair at all because if a running back is out there giving you 90 yards, they were a.

Here's how the draft started. All running backs before me, the first seven picks. It's getting crazier and crazier every year. Running back central. It went Christian McCaffrey, Derek Henry, Dalvin Cook.

Alvin Kamara, Nick Chubbs, Saquan Barkley, and Jonathan Taylor. Yeah. So happy Team 7 went Jonathan Taylor because I have him. Would you have taken Taylor? No, no, I would not have taken Taylor. At that point, I probably would have considered pivoting to a wide receiver. Okay. So I'm happy to have Zeke fall to me at 8. He will be my pick, and we're off to the races. And just for some clarity at home, we are doing a 12-team half PPR.

One quarterback, two running back, two wide receiver, one tight end, one flex, and five on the bench. So you went ahead and you took Ezekiel Elliott. I did. And then the computers did what I would have done right after Zeke and pivoted to wide receivers. Devante Adams and Tyree Kill went. And then the pick that I was hoping to get with my second round because every now and then he slips the second. There was zero percent chance. That was my first pick. I knew he would.

be picked by you. I'm so thrilled to see him go at pick 11. Travis Kelsey's off the board. Mike, you don't hit him. It's already against me. Team hefty boys. Now, this is particularly brutal because as of right now, Aaron Jones, in my statistics, is ranked out like Aaron Rogers is going to be there. Because if Aaron Rogers is back to me, Aaron Jones is great.

He's back. He's automatically a top 10 guy. He is a difference maker, and he's just a strong running back one. But I don't know if Aaron Rogers is going to be there. Thankfully, this is a mock. But Jason, tell me this. If I take Aaron Jones here. I will treat it as if Aaron Rogers is gone. A terrible pick. But what if he drops to you? Oh, Aaron Rogers is back, baby. Oh, all right.

On the turn, this is a brutal place to be, but whatever. We don't know if he will be gone or not, so I'm just going to take Aaron Jones. Now I have an extremely long wait. Yeah, it's always interesting. When you're at the turn, you have to decide a lot of times in the past I have chosen to go running back in a wide receiver at the turn because it evens you out. It lets you, you know, if two.

Good running backs are two good wide receivers happen to fall to the next turn. You can pivot and go in any direction. On the other side, ADP of running backs have been flying up the board. So it's a long time until you get to choose your second one. So this is, which way are you going to go here with your second pick? I'm going to be honest. I don't know. Okay. I gave you time.
