An infamy. Really? February 16th, huh? Not just the date. For the fantasy footballers? Oh, I know where you're headed. Yeah. I know where you're headed. This is the official last recording of the show in our old studio. And what better way to commemorate that than boys to men? Yes. And if you're wondering how we're going to say goodbye, we're burning it to the ground. Wait. No one can use it. It's gone.

I brought a sledgehammer today. This is the uncristening event. It's the opposite. Yeah, we're waving goodbye. And bigger and better things. We've got a new studio we're debuting next Tuesday. We've got to make you excited. I am excited. Yeah, it's going to be great. It's going to be great. Today we have... Which means, when we talk about the studio, we realize the majority of our listeners are just that.

They are listeners. And so the new studio makes no difference to you. It will just seem like the same, which is why you need to go and subscribe on YouTube. Yeah. Right? So go. This is a big moment. For those of you watching on the Fancy Sports Network or those of you on YouTube, you will see a new studio on Tuesday. There you go. And we'll be, you know, we'll be spreading our legs. To spread out. We'll be stretching our legs. Stretching our legs. Oh, there it is. That's a lot different. There you go. Those mean quite different things. We won't be spreading them. And we're making some early determinations on whether we believe.

Those trends will continue or whether it was kind of a one-year thing or a two-year thing. And so we're going to go through several of those storylines today. Yeah. Is it the new normal? It is a keeper league rule question. Great question for right now. We are all about fixing your league, getting it right.

for the upcoming year. So this question from Aaron Clark says, wondering what your rules are. What do you use for a keeper league? Our first year doing it, I want some expert advice. Thank you. And he says he's looking forward to the off-season, pre-season with the fantasy footballers. So great question, Aaron. Our main kind of legacy 10-plus year league is a keeper league. So I think we can certainly share what we do.

I don't think it is the only way to do it by any stretch of the imagination. No, there are a lot of. It is preferred. Yeah, there's a lot of good, completely different ways to run a keeper league. There is no, you know, we'll fight for things that we think is right, like Fab. Or half point per reception. Fab is better than the alternatives. Half point PPR, I think, is the most fair scoring. We'll fight for those things. However, the way that we do keepers is we have selected three keepers. Every team.

has to, must, gets to select three keepers that they have next year. And then so you go into the next year's draft, essentially, you just have a full draft. You don't have to worry about, oh, I'm missing a third rounder or a second or a, I give up a 16th. It's just you basically are after those first three rounds in a way. And we place restrictions on those keepers. So the way we do it, it's really fun. We actually have teams select one.

franchise player, and that player is theirs to keep guaranteed. You've got them. And then we have them select three additional keepers that go into a keeper lottery. So we added this extra day during the calendar. Right? We do it right. We do 366 days a year. We add an extra day to the calendar to our calendar. And so on the NFL draft, when the NFL draft happens, we get together.

And we dump all those names into a keeper lottery. And each team. A giant golden. We actually do use a giant golden, I don't know, like a bingo turner type of thing. And we all sit down, we spread our legs, and we, no, we sit down and we come on, man. And we turn that and you get two of the three keepers. And the other one goes back into the draft pool. And so here's a perfect example of how this can play out in different ways. Mike's fantasy team right now.

is really reliant on whether or not Doug Martin has a team because usually Mike is going to franchise Antonio Brown, right? You're not going to give the chance of him. Nope. Being up available to draft because he didn't come out of the ping pong machine or the bingo machine. So you might actually be putting him into. Correct. Yeah, the way it works out with all the rules.

What would be optimal for my team would be to franchise LaShawn McCoy, and then I get a lottery between three different wide receivers, which I have Edelman, T.Y. Hilton, and Antonio Brown. Yep. So you would get two of those three at Randall. I know that my team, even if I didn't get Antonio Brown, comes out better. But do I want to take that chance of losing the number one fantasy wide receiver? Other keeper rules to keep in mind. As soon as the keepers have been selected, we allow draft pick trading in our league. We keep that dock.

open so all off season people can be making deals trading their keepers plus picks trading picks for picks um it makes it really fun during during that part of the year

Anything else that's really worth mentioning? I mean, that's kind of how we format. I know a lot of leagues, obviously, they have draft picks that are exchanged for the players. Yeah, this question's coming in from join the foot.com, which means you have access to footclanleagues. Let's get into the news. News and notes from around the league.

All right, it's been reported that Sammy Coates is recovering from sports hernia surgery, not a hand operation. We know he had problems with the hand last season. He kind of looked like he was going to break out, was a popular waiver wire pickup, and then disappointed anybody you paid Fab or spent their waiver priority on him because he didn't do anything the rest of the way. Correct. And if you don't recall, he had a massive, massive laceration on his hand.

I don't know if we got even a real clear report because it was talking about he had a broken finger. No, he has two broken fingers. Well, he doesn't have broken finger. It continues now as reported weeks ago was that Coates had a hand operation, but now that appears to be false. What do you guys think of Coates moving forward with the Steelers? Martavis Bryant is still quite a wild card. Will he actually be reinstated? Sammy Coates? I mean, he... Very small sample, but he did have...

an absolute monster game. I don't have a very high opinion of his future. I think he's worth monitoring. He's one of those players that has the potential to have a high future, but I'm not necessarily predicting it will be that. Marcus Wheaton is a free agent. I don't expect him to. He also is not very good. Yeah, but I don't expect him to be back at all. If Martavis Bryant doesn't come back and you have all of those injuries that Coates dealt with this current season that hampered the flashes that he did show.

then, you know, the cards could fall. The cards could fall. The chips could fall the right way. Yeah. Yeah, there you go. And they could turn out to make Sammy Codes valuable. But he's just someone to monitor as of now. All right. Let's talk about Smokey Brown. Yes. The Cardinals president, Michael Bedwell, believes that the team has solved. John Brown's sickle cell issues. We all loved John Brown last year. And then he went through health concerns that limited his snaps.

Limited his effectiveness on the field. Bidwell said he is very healthy, and it looks like the doctors had found the issue related to sickle cell. And so they expect Smokey John Brown to be back. If he's back, Michael Floyd's gone. Larry Fitzgerald plays a role underneath in that Heinz Ward type of thing. But John Brown would be the leading contender for...

High reception totals. Steal of the draft. I was a year off on him. He is, he still burns bright in my heart. I really believe he was last year. He was one of my three my guys. And I really believed that he was going to break out. The whole season was ruined by the injury.

Yeah, we had an episode a couple weeks ago where we wanted to remember things from 2016. And what I wanted to remember was that some of the guys that you liked that you saw good things in, maybe they're one year away and don't forget about these players. And where John Brown is going to be drafted this next year is going to be very low. He is not going to cost you a high pick. Yeah, I can't really see any scenario in which his draft position will be driven up.

Right. Because he will not have the opportunity to prove before the season that he's healthy or that he'll be effective. And so I think his job position will stay the same. Yeah. People are pretty down on Carson Palmer in general. From what I can tell in the fantasy community, they view him as a, you know, 15 to 20 type of guy. And so there is opportunity. I mean, we saw John Brown last year. Didn't he have a game with? Yeah. He had a high reception total game. One monster game. So over or under.
