This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Every football fan is different. Some won't wash their lucky mustard-stained jersey until the season's over. Some insist they can't sit down on third downs and some pick their favorite team because, I don't know, just like football fandom, nobody's life is exactly the same. And that's why State Farm gets to know you, not as a policy number, but as an actual person.

Hey, footclan. You already know that Fantasychamps.com is the best place to go get that very important fantasy football trophy championship belt, ring, whatever you need. Tell me more. Yeah, I will tell you more, Mike. But right now, and for the next week or so, is especially the best time to go. Because if you put in a trophy or a championship belt, one of their perennial trophies or a championship belt, into your cart.

1:32 ↗

And then you put one of the rings that you want. I don't want to pay for that ring. You don't have to, Mike. You put in the code free ring and that code takes away the cost of that ring. It becomes free, a free ring, a free championship ring. Imagine that. Championship bling. Oh, don't confuse me. Fingly fingers, Mike. What is? Yeah. So go to Fantasychamps.com. All right. Add a trophy or belt to the cart. Add your favorite ring to the cart. Put in the code free ring. It'll become free.

at fantasychamps.com. To the fantasy footballers podcast. Coming to you from pristineauction.com studios with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome in. Fantasy Footballers podcast. Back with you. Thursday, January 9th. A jam-pack show today. Oh, so much jam. Mike's wearing a Kirk Cousins jersey. Oh, what?

2:46 ↗

Oh, why, yes, I am. This old thing. You got to pick your spots with the Kirk Cousins jersey. Today's the day that it works. Yes. Hopefully next week as well. Yeah. Did you say doubtful? I don't know. Somebody did. That's weird. What would you say the chances they were going to beat the Saints, Jason? I would say they were not good. I would have said, I would give them a solid 20% chance to beat the Saints. That sounds.

3:18 ↗

doubtful. It was very doubtful. Look, I didn't say impossible. I said doubtful. You have to imagine they haven't. You sing it. A better chance against San Francisco than against New Orleans. Because the way I look at San Francisco, and they're who I picked to win the Super Bowl in our bracket, but they are also kind of inexperienced playoff-wise with this team. So that would be kind of...

3:46 ↗

The argument I would use towards Minnesota having an opportunity to beat them, the Saints were very experienced at home. Minnesota took them down. I would say it's going to be a very good game. The argument that I would make, and the reason why I sing doubtful is just because I feel like that, that felt like the Super Bowl.

4:06 ↗

for the Vikings this last week. This whole Vikings Saints rivalry over the last couple of years in the playoffs and the emotion and the high and it was like they won, they did it. And now they've got to come down off of that while at that same time, you have the 49ers getting an extra week to prepare. So they're, you know, they had the two weeks to get ready to get healthy. I think that by week's going to help them. Well, it doesn't hurt. It doesn't hurt to have the home game. I agree that I would give the edge to San Francisco.

4:35 ↗

But you never know. Mike's got the jersey on, so he's doing his best. Yes, I'm supporting the team. They say never kiss your cousins, but he's willing. Oh, I'm going to get some of it. I'll give him big fat slap his mooch. I believe that's how it would be as well. Oh, man. You'll be a Kirk. Come here, big guy. He'd have to wipe for sure. Yeah. Twitter at the FF ballers, the fantasy footballers.com is the website. Just a little bit of news. A little bit of news before you get into.

5:05 ↗

a little update on beat the ballers as well as this week's picks. And then we've got the big AMA today. So you guys sent in questions of all sorts. I will tease it by saying Brooks categorized the questions three ways, which maybe says something about us. There's, you know, fantasy football questions. We know what those are. I would expect those. There are random questions, right? AMA. Ask me anything. Okay.

5:32 ↗

Random is a big topic. But then there's another like category called food questions. So there were so many food questions that they could not fit into random. That is right. I think what we just learned is that we or I need to launch a new podcast. A food? Just a complete food related podcast. The people. You do not need that so much. It's not me eating. No.

5:59 ↗

It can't help the situation. Yesterday on the Spitballers podcast, you revealed that you feel as though you have a full-sized Clementine in your chest at all times. It's more my upper abdomen, but yes. So I can't imagine you focusing on food during the duration of a podcast would help that situation. That's all I'm saying. I'm surprised you think that right now I'm not currently focused on it. Well, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. Here's the news we have. Joe Judge.

6:29 ↗

A little competitor to Giamati himself taking over now as head coach of the New York Giants. He was the special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach of the Patriots. Those Patriots wide receivers great year. And so Joe Judge within arm's length of Bill Belichick on a weekly basis gets the job in New York. I believe he's the second youngest head coach in the NFL at 38 years old. So.

6:56 ↗

When we do our coaching changes episode, we'll break down the implications. It was a, I don't think a hire that I knew was possible. So there you go. I remember seeing his name floated around a little bit before the hire, but it seemed like it was like one of the laundry list of people they're interviewing and it was probably going to be, you know, they wanted who the Panthers got and they didn't get him. And then it seemed like there was a rule.

7:25 ↗

Yes. Murder. And then all of a sudden, as soon as Ja Rule got signed by the Panthers, immediately they come out. They're like, we got, we got, we got, we got judge. We got him. That was our first pick. Is it because he sounds like the alias of a superhero? Wasn't there a judge Joe on TV? Oh, yeah. So now you got Joe judge. That's really not a, just an observation. Just an observation.

7:55 ↗

Not helpful. It's a palindrome. It's just really, I'm not impressed with myself. The Redskins hired Axe Panthers, offensive coordinator. Scott Turner is their offensive coordinator as well. Again, we'll break down all the coaching changes when we get our heads around the implications and there are going to be more changes. There's going to be a new head coach for the Cleveland Browns at some point. And I think that's it for news. You guys got anything else you want to touch on? Joe Judge. Joe Judge.

8:29 ↗

Beat the Ballers, presented by Monkey Knife Fight. All right, so we're through week one of the NFL playoffs, and if you go to Beat the Ballers.com, you can participate with us in week two. Last week, you're laughing, Mike, at me, I think. No, I would never. Look, the way this works is if you can pick three players.

8:57 ↗

Any three players from any of the matchups, and you can beat all three of us. Well, the three players have to be in one matchup. Correct. But I'm saying if you pick three players from, let's say, the Viking San Francisco game, and somebody picks three from another game, but their scores outscore you, and Jason and myself, you win a share of some extra keesh over on Monkey Knife fight. So you go to beat theballers.com to participate. It's a $2,500 prize pool.

9:27 ↗

Straight to you. Real money. You can take it out of your account if you win it. And then the final week is a $10,000 price pool for the Super Bowl. But last week, just to break it down, Mike, 55. 55% of listeners knocked you off.

9:50 ↗

Yeah, Adam Theeland was so close. And you had a pretty good week, but not good enough. Jason, uh, you beat just 24.9% of the listeners. Hmm. Okay. Now, I don't think either of you would be proud of yourselves. No. If I'm super proud. It wasn't for the, my generosity. Did you play three guys? Not really. I will say that 98.4% of the listeners beat my score. Now, now.

10:21 ↗

Now, correct me if I'm wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong. All you have to do is beat one of us to get basically a free $5 entry in another game. So you're, you know, if you're playing a $5 game here, all you had to do was play and you get a free game. But that's not true. You did beat 1.6% of people. And those people are so sad. I had done the Boston Scott, Miles Sanders, Tyler Lockett stack in that one game. And they did not do much.

10:48 ↗

So this week it's going to be a little different. It's brand new, so you can come participate, beat the ballers.com. This week, I'm picking from the Houston, Kansas City game, and I'm not giving you no layup this week, Foot Clan. I'm going Travis Kelsey, Tyreek Hill, DeAndre Hopkins. All right. Okay. Impressive, eh? Very impressive. No Boston Scott. So, Jason, who are you going with this week?

11:17 ↗

So this week I am looking at the Minnesota San Francisco game, and I wanted the running backs. I wanted cook on one side, Moster, on the other, and then George Kittle. He's just too big a beast. I mean, there's a lot. I came in this morning. I was talking to Brooks. I was like, there's just so many options here. If you wanted to go Debo or you wanted to go feeling or digs or, you know, but I went Kittle. And I'm going Moster. So you're counting on that touchdown.

11:45 ↗

No, that he's done in six consecutive games. No what? I get it. I don't believe he has to have a touchdown. I think he can have enough yardage, but he obvious, I mean, they're just such a good running team and Moster has been the lead dog. So I mean, yeah, I'm, I'm relying on Rahim Moster and Kyle Shanahan. And his touchdown. And Mike, where are you going? I'm going to pick from the Seattle Green Bay game and I will go Devante Adams.

12:12 ↗

And Aaron Jones, I am going that side of the ball. I think that Green Bay wins this game. So I want my, I want my selections heavier with the higher points total. And then I will take Tyler Locke. Oh, that worked well for me last week. Look, it was, it was clearly, it was a DK Metcalf week last week. And when I told Jason who I was going to take, I said, like, I'm taking Lockett. I'm taking, really over Metcalf. And it was.

12:40 ↗

Tyler Lockett still had eight targets last week. Is it a D.K. Metcalfe future, though? Is it going to be a Metcalf Life? That's going to be a very interesting. Metcalf Life Stadium? Oh, okay. Sorry. I had to try it out. They're not all winners. Congratulations. Thank you. But, yeah, this off season of when we get into draft season, deciding Tyler Lockett or D.K. Metcalf, I mean...

13:09 ↗

That's going to be tough. I remember a very similar discussion back when it was Doug Baldwin versus Tyler Lockett and trying to decide when that balance of power shifted. Well, and you can already kind of have a preview in your head of what the narrative is going to be. It's like the known commodity of sorts in Lockett versus the...

13:29 ↗

What if with DK Metcalf? Right. If Metcalf really takes the next step, because he'd be great rookie year. There's just no way I would ever bet on Lockett to score more than DK Metcalf. So then it's involvement. I know Metcalf is, I mean, he's just humongous. Yeah, he's pretty large. So those are our picks for this week. But my point was Lockett had eight targets. Metcalf had nine. So it wasn't like this huge target disparity. It was Medcalf came through with the big game and had the big touchdown.
