Jason Moore and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome to the show. Pick yourself up off the flow. Maybe. It's time to go. Hold on. Hold on. Hang in there. All right. Hang on to the ledge. I don't know what's going on. Or celebrate. Or celebrate. This is a just a crazy week. I think the predominant assumption.
in the fantasy community is that we will spend the entirety of the show on the pooped their big boy pants segment but you know what i say i say this flush it away flush those thoughts away no we will get into all of the disappointing performances we now have a toilet sound effect i just added it this morning wow look after a week like that here's my here's my whole take on the week um
I tweeted something last night. I said basically you won fantasy football by having Lev Bell or the Atlanta Falcons defense or some random allotment of players. That just worked out. But here's the honest truth about the week. Because many of you won, many of you may not have won if you went up against those opponents or some of the plethora of great fantasy options this week.
disappointed you like Mike Evans or Drew Brees or Russell Wilson or James Winston or the list will go on and on including Mr. Moncrief. But here's the honest truth. You cannot predict epic failure in these guys, but you can assemble a roster that affords you some margin to survive. And the hope is that if you had a struggling player, your opponent had a struggling player.
I saw. You played Big Ben, even if you had a breeze. Yeah, I saw someone sent me a message and said, this is the worst playoff matchup they've ever seen. And it was every player, every single player in our pooped in the big boy pants segment coming up was on both teams. And this was a playoff. And the rosters were loaded, man. I mean, these were good teams full of great players. And the final score is like 40 to 41. In our dynasty league.
Oh, Jason is in a matchup on one side of the bracket in which it's like 130 to 129. Yeah, Tom, Tom, no, it's 130. And so people can root for this. I need Tom Brady to not score 10 points to that. Okay. Or I'm going to lose with 130 points. The other side of the bracket, the both teams are in the 40s. Yeah. So just to illustrate the point you're making. Ridiculous. Ridiculous. Thanks, Levy on Bell. Yeah. Yeah. So.
Hopefully your depth changes helped. Your last minute changes help. I know a lot of people that did ensure Julio with Taylor Gabriel survived and thrived. But yeah, I mean, even the David Johnson's of the world, the Jordan Reeds of the world, did not carry you this week. Well, to be fair, David Johnson still had a solid game. I mean, he was over 100 yards from scrimmage again.
Agreed. And Jordan Reed was, you know, on the field for like 10 snaps. Everything this week is measured in percentages of a Levion Bell. Wow. Levion Bell is now a full mathematical measurement form. If Levion Bell is 100%, then we are going to use some small numbers for everyone else. The figures are going to be small. So studs and duds on the show today, we've got rising stars. We're going to get you ready for week 15.
Obviously, you got the Monday night game tonight. That's going to impact a ton of fantasy outcomes. I mean, you got Brady and you have Edelman and, you know. Kenneth Dixon and Terrence West. The new hotness, Malcolm Mitchell, that everyone wanted to play. Yep. Yeah. So a lot of fantasy implications decided tonight. But if you are looking ahead now, we'll also get you ready for that with injury reports, everything you need to know.
It's going to be, look, you're on your way to a Footland title. That's the goal here. We're going to try to get you as ready as we can. So we've got rising stars. We've got guys to pay attention to for next week. Quick question of the day. From Twitter at J.M.R. Tennis. Jimmer Tennis writes in, how would you gently introduce new league rules and scoring changes for next season? What method would you take? This is a very good, well-timed.
question because part of how you introduce new rules is win and now is a very good time to do that not although every player is still kind of paying attention to what's going on is not the off season yet but you need to do it before the next year you can't do it mid year so um step one you've already got out of the way which is do it now and i would always put it to a vote you know hopefully you have some communication channel facebook messaging group or a
Slack channel or some kind of, if you guys use the forums on whatever website that hosts your Fantasy League, bring up this rule change. Say why you want to do it. Like, hey, let's get rid of kickers. That would be my highest recommendation. I will say this, though. Don't be reactionary about the rule change. If it's something that is directly affecting this week's performance, it will seem like sour grapes if you go out and try to introduce a rule change.
If that's the case for what you're trying to adjust, I would just, I do a little postseason write up and summarize how all the teams did and then introduce a few ideas and take a vote early so that people can prepare their draft based on the new rule changes. That's the problem. You introduce it late in the season or during the season. People didn't draft based on those scoring changes. Right. So you want to give people a chance to, you don't introduce a Keeper League in week nine.
Because people didn't draft and plan around a keeper league. You want a keeper league decide it, you know, in the off season. Prepare people for it. And if it's unanimous, it doesn't matter when you do it because everybody's on board. Sometimes you need to be gentle like a baseball bat though. Just saying. As a commissioner? Or as a bringing up a rule change. You got to fight. If there's some ridiculousness in there? Yeah. All right. Just say it. It's not always gentle. No one's allowed to have Levy on Bell.
That's a new rule. New rule. If the game's into snow, I get a bonus 13 points. The snow bonus. Yeah, that's very common. If you want to follow us on Twitter, you can do so at the FF Ballers. debuting some interesting things on YouTube during the offseason as well. We have a regular show, but we'll do some show after the shows and have some fun on there. Ooh, it's back. It'll be back. And check out the website, The Fantasy Footballers.com. You can submit questions to the show. Check out everything we have to offer. Our awesome group of writers submitting things like, I mean, that weather article was so valuable this week. Jason's dabbing. Jason just dab sneezed. I had to sneeze. Got to dab. You got to do what you got to do.
Well, not a lot of dabbing done by some of the studs this week. So we're going to get into that. But first, first, guys, let's do the rewind. Weekly rewind. In things you didn't want to see news, Melvin Gordon didn't have the decency to go down late in the game. Oof, no good. Carted off the field with the leg and a hip injury, did not return. Source said he is okay. Yeah, okay.
It's getting an MRI. Him being okay doesn't really help your fantasy team. Well, and him being okay doesn't mean that he's healthy. I mean, you can just say, hey, hey, Gordon, how you doing? I'm doing okay. Yeah. Yeah, it's too early to know. He's getting an MRI today. So we will have word as to how severe the hip injury is. Here's what you don't do. You don't rush back your future, your stalwart running back. Yeah, if you're out of the playoffs. I agree with that, which means to me that if he's back this week,
I have no concerns in playing him. I would throw him right in there. No, that's a good take. So if they do play him, you're not worried about him being iffy because why would they play him iffy? Exactly. Interesting. If they play him, then he really is good to go. And it shouldn't be a case where he's going to react. Kenneth Farrow. Yes. If you got it is the waiver wire ad. Anything left in the old fab tank. Well, would you sign him or? Yes. Bilal Powell.
Oh, if you knew Forte was out because Forte left the game with a knee injury. That would be my man. Jason is like. Oh, we'll talk about him in a minute. That's not even a question. But for the people in the Chargers situation, it's Kenneth Farrell. He would be the guy to pick up. And this is why we do talk about saving at least a couple bucks of the fab because.
Right around the playoffs, weird things happen. And let's say maybe you saved a dollar and your opponent next week, the Melvin Gordon owner, does not have any dollars. You're out of luck there, my friend, because you're going to get blocked. A couple of concussion reports. C.J. Fedorowitz left with a possible concussion and Shane Vereen. He's back. He's back out. He's back out. Yeah. Shaneverine suffered a concussion. That meant a little bit more passing down work for Rashad Jennings and Paul Perkins.
So monitor those situations. Ryan Tannahill is likely done for the year with an ACL injury despite defeating my Cardinals. Now if you're the Dolphins, you're an eight win team. I got to be honest. That stunk for a Cardinal fans yesterday. Losing that game. I'm going, my son turns eight years old tomorrow. And I'm taking him to the Cardinal game on Sunday. And I really wanted that game to matter.
Chandler. It does matter. Cat and Zorro. It matters for fantasy players. Yeah. Yeah. Is that your, that's your takeaway? That's my takeaway. But Matt Moore now will be thrust in to the lineup. He's capable. And their schedule just for real life playoffs type of a situation, it could be worse. I will say this. I can't imagine wanting to rely on Matt Moore.
He's got a lot going on right now. He's having a baby today. Did you guys know this? Oh, congratulations. His wife is being induced today. So this is a big day for Matt Moore. He's becoming a starting quarterback in the NFL. Well, here's just because I want to follow up on that. Next week they play the Jets, a team that is phoning it. They quit. They quit. They quit. They quit. They should not have allowed that. They won. Yeah, but still. Again, they beat. Would they play 49ers? I know. It was quit versus quit. Someone had to win. And then the next, the next week, they play Buffalo.
Maybe they have a head coach. And then they play the Patriots. Hamstring. Dante Moncrief left the game with a hamstring injury. Not before he dropped a couple passes. One of the worst poopers of the week. Matthew Stafford, dislocation, torn ligaments in the middle finger played with a glove the final three quarters. And we'll have to play with a glove the rest of the year still pulled out the victory with his legs. Yeah.
ran in the game-winning touchdown, and we'll have to see how he does in practice this week. I think he will be out on the field rest of the season, and probably someone you can still play even through the injury. Really? I think, depending on the matchup, you know, I think Matthew Stafford can fight through it, but we'll have to see how he does in practice. See, I believe it's his middle finger. It is. On his throwing hand. Correct. Yeah, no thanks. No thanks. No, I'm just saying. I'm...
