With your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. I love Carson Wince. Woo! Welcome to the podcast, the Fantasy Footballers podcast, Andy Mike and Jason. Back again for a Waverwire show, a quarterback streamer show. It's Tuesday, October 24th. We are one week away from Halloween, and I encourage all of you.

2:11 ↗

Oh, you're going to want to tune in on the YouTube for the Halloween episode. That is all I'm going to say. Always. Yeah. It's going to be very special. But make sure Halloween you go to that YouTube and subscribe, you will not be disappointed. We look extra handsome because we generally cover our faces. That's true. That's true. If there's a time that you don't want to be exposed to our faces, that would be the time. What a game last night. Carson wins.

2:40 ↗

officially leveled up my goodness i mean his his body what did you call him a you were talking about the play where he was sacked even the announcers like and carson is sagged there he goes i say turned into a water snake yeah those the old toys where you just you can't grab it and it's just

3:00 ↗

And that's the sound that he made actually as he escaped the pocket. I heard it audibly on the air. Yeah, it was incredible. What a performance by Carson wins, four touchdowns. He said three or more in three straight weeks, leads the NFL. Current MVP. Current MVP candidate. Yeah, I mean, Alex Smith is in that conversation for sure. But look, if you're an Eagles fan, you're jacked up. If you were like me and Aaron Rogers owner that.

3:28 ↗

chose Carson Wins as his replacement. You were jacked up as a fantasy owner. And look, Matt Harmon from NFL Network posted this last night. Good friend of the show. That bomb to Mack Hollins. That was the furthest distance a pass has traveled. In the air. In the air. This season. When you get out of the pocket, when you get out of the pocket, when you have that kind of pocket awareness, ability to get outside the pocket,

3:58 ↗

And you have some receivers that can actually do something this year. You can turn your body into hot butter. Into hot butter. So what a game. Unless your name's Terrell Pryor. Oh. Dumpster Fire. He's not caught up in the crossfire right now. You need Elon Musk to invent an air freshener to handle what's coming out of Trell Pryor right now. Oh, man.

4:23 ↗

And, what, he didn't get a snap till late in the game. He's stewing on the sidelines, Josh Doxon, 54% of snaps. It's, you know, none of it stopping Kurt Cousins, which I think speaks volumes about Kurt Cousins' actual ability as an NFL quarterback. The good ones, right? The good quarterbacks are not reliant on one man at the wide receiver core. They find the open man.

4:48 ↗

You see this Brady and Breeze when they spread the ball around so much where it's like the more great options, the more great weapons they get on the team. You go, well, I'm not sure that player is going to be good for fantasy, but it will be good for the quarterback because it's going to spread the ball around. That's part of the problem. We'll have this debate in a little bit, but when you look at the waivers, Josh Doxon's going to be a big pickup for a lot of people as he gets more and more involved, has incredible talent.

5:16 ↗

but I worry about how Kirk Cousin spreads the ball around so much. Are you going to be able to rely on any pass-catching option there on a regular basis? Jordan Reed? Sure. Jordan Reed? We'll talk about it in the waiver. Yeah, but you've got to highlight Jordan Reed monster game. People were getting a bit antsy with Rule 86. We had the vote. We had the legislative vote last week as to whether or not we need to repeal.

5:44 ↗

Rule 86 and it did not pass. Rule 86 stayed in place, which states if Jordan Reed is healthy in the game, you play him and hopefully you obeyed the law. Isn't it a trick rule? Is he ever really? Well, if he's healthy enough to be in the game. Right. Is it healthy with a wink? Amendment. Ten targets for Jordan Reed. I like it. Had a little bit of the. See, we disagree on if that's garbage or not because it's. When you're 17 points down and only throwing.

6:14 ↗

The second touchdown for Reid was garbage time to me. I think they were still battling. I mean, didn't they lose by 10? Yes. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, either way. It doesn't matter. I mean, Jordan Reed. Points to points. Points or points. They count. Kirk Cousins put up a good game for those that were relying on him on Monday night for a win. So, yeah, we are going to get into the waivers on today's show. It is a monstrous buy week. In our Dynasty League, where I am 7 and 0.

6:43 ↗

I went on there to set my lineup for next week, and I play Jason, and I'm just like, can I keep this undefeated thing? Nope, no, I'm not going to keep the undefeated thing going. I have Murray, Gurley, Peterson on by, and then I've got a voluntary buy from Marshawn Lynch. So running backs. Involuntary. It depends on your perspective. He made a choice. Well.

7:08 ↗

That's very fair. Yeah. It's also his longest run of the season. It is. It is. Coming out onto the field. It's a wide field. Yeah. Hopefully you prepared last week for this week's Bipocalypse because there are so many relevant teams on by. But if you didn't, good news. You're listening to this show. Yeah, we're going to help you. Mike mentioned it in the intro, but if you want to join our Foot Clan community, we do have a live stream. Oh.

We're on Twitter at the FF Ballers. And like I said, we're on YouTube. You'll want to check out the Halloween episode. We got something special planned. Let's get into the news. News and notes from around the league.

8:10 ↗

In likely irrelevant news, Carson Palmer's hopeful he can return from the broken arm in four to six weeks, which means three and ten Arizona Cardinals. He may have four to six weeks of torture with Drew Stanton there. DeMarco Murray, more relevant, bruised shoulder in the Sunday win, but does have a bye week, had no setbacks with the hamstring. I'm with Jason. I think DeMarco Murray coming out of the buy. He's a target. He's a target this week. If you have a team.

8:38 ↗

dealing with the bi-apocalypse, as we're calling it. And DeMarco Murray is one of those guys, underwhelming, underperforming. Derek Henry is always in the background lurking. And you can target him coming out of the buy? I mean, are you guys on board maybe taking a second half shot with DeMarco Murray? I know I am. I'm certainly, I believe that DeMarco Murray's value to the owner right now is very low, especially with him on a buy.

9:03 ↗

The owner has probably lost some games on the back of DeMarco-Marie, so they need to trade him, and I would be willing to buy him on the cheap. I am curious if we could take a little pause here, because let's say your team is 7-0, like your dynasty team, or it's just looking good, and you've got a bunch of buys, and you're like, man, I don't know how I can win this week. Trading for.

9:28 ↗

say a DeMarco Murray or something where it's like, okay, this is good for my team. It's going to help me, you know, long term. It's definitely the right move for my team. But this would force me to have not enough players to roster, to field. Because now I have one extra buy week running back. I can't drop any of these guys to pick someone up. Where do you two gentlemen stand on whether or not that is allowable to trade for someone where it's like,

9:58 ↗

You're a winning team, but you're not going to be able to field an entire roster. You're going to take your loss. Is that allowed? Is that not allowed? I think it would be a mistake. You think it would just be a strategic mistake you're saying. For your team. Because if you're trying to do that, why not just wait the week? If you're trying specifically, if you're talking about Murray, who's on a biweek, I would just wait because everyone, we're all the fish from finding Nemo.

10:26 ↗

dory and we forget about what happened two weeks ago so i would just wait i would i would play a full roster i mean yes a strong dory reference i will definitely give you that what's your take uh you know i think it i think it's a rare situation not not super common but i do believe that that is uh i would be fine i as far as whether or not that's allowed i think it should be allowed because the owner's doing what's in his best interest for

10:54 ↗

his team, which is all he can control. Yeah. It is a slippery. Slippery slope. And I do think it is a mistake. That's a good way to put it because perception is not reality when it comes to fantasy scores. And sometimes you think you're going to lose. And, you know, it takes one injury. It takes one bomb, you know, to Mack Hollins, who you've rotated into your lineup. And then all of a sudden, your week changes. And just giving a perceived free win to another team.

11:23 ↗

I don't know. It's an integrity. Yeah, I wouldn't do it. It's why I bring it up. Miami plays on Thursday night. Devante Parker going to test the ankle today. I'm not optimistic about him playing based on the way. He's been a slow recovery type of player. So Kenny Stills might be an outstanding play this week. Jay, obviously Landry is. Jay Ajai limited due to knee and elbow issues. So we'll follow that ahead of. I feel like he just doesn't practice anymore.

11:53 ↗

J and Jai this season is, you know, he plays on Sunday. Don't worry about practice. I want to touch on the Martavis Bryant drama going on. A lot has happened in social media, through the media in general. He skipped mandatory team meetings on Monday. He said he was at the doctor. You know, he wants out, according to reports, if the Steelers don't try to include him more. And he's unhappy, basically, as a situation with his usage. Clearly feels unwanted.

12:22 ↗

Correct. And also feels, I think, a sense from, if you read his comments, feels like it was, you know, it was hard for him to come back. Right. To work his way back and doesn't, you know, kind of feel like he had a lot of support. And now that he's made it all the way back is surprised that he's not getting targets.

12:40 ↗

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. One of the reasons I'm going to do that is because he hasn't been suspended by the team. He's done some disruptive things over the last two weeks in social media. He's done them before insulting Sammy Coates right after the draft. And when they talked about Juju Smith-Schuster being drafted, he's been playing great, by the way. And we'll talk about him on today's show. But I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt because the Steelers organization has not suspended him, which means, in my opinion, they're trying to work with him through whatever...

13:08 ↗

situation is going on because I think if it's just disciplinary this guy gets benched this guy loses snaps this guy gets suspended this guy gets traded they said they're not trading him they said they've not suspended him so I think this is one of those things where you know historically we've heard that Martavis Bryant deals with some mental health related issues anxiety things like that it's indicative to me of the team trying to work through this and I actually think you'll have a contribution not necessarily fantasy wise but a contribution to this team before the years in
