In your favor with what you saw from Carry on and projected for him or against you, I would cast it for you. He looks like a David Johnson S player on the field. He's multi-threat, and that is necessary for fantasy football. Explosivo. There's still a problem, and his name is Matt Patricia. Actually, and maybe Matthew Stafford. I don't think those are problems for 20.

19, and here's why. If you look at last, my, my carry on Johnson. So here's the thing. Oh, Knoge. Here's the thing. Carry on Johnson last year was unbelievably efficient, right? 5.4 yards per carry. Great in the receiving game. He was a fantastic producer, did not.

have a, you know, a lot of touchdown volume come his way. The lions were not that good. And here's a big reason. You want to know why a big reason why the lions were not good? You say Matt Patricia, and you're half right. It was Matt Patricia and his great, strong, well-documented relationship with Legerat Blunt.

LaGarrett Blunt and him were good friends from New England. LaGarrett Blunt came over from New England because he was going to get the phone. Like Froyo level? Oh, that would have Froyo every Tuesday. That was their routine. LaGarret Blunt played 16 games and got 154 carries. So people are like, oh, well, C.J. Anderson's there.

CJ Anderson's not getting more than 154 carries, but you want to know what CJ Anderson might just actually do? He might help keep drives alive. Why would you give a guy the ball 154 times when he's averaging 2.7 yards per carry? Like, Garrett Blunt wasn't bad. He was unfathom, like, why would you keep giving this guy the ball? Every time that he was in there, drive stopped. They stalled.

Now, I don't think they're going to give Carrion Johnson the ball 300 times. They're going to use C.J. Anderson. But if you look at what happened the first couple weeks of last season, Carrie on Johnson was not very involved. He broke kind of in and they started getting more carries week three. If you look from week three on with putrid Ligarrett Blunt, carry on Johnson was already. This isn't like projecting forward. He was already on pace for 211 carries and 60 targets.

Those numbers in year two, now that he's the man, he's going in as the starter. They signed his backup as opposed to last year who's going to compete with Ligar Blunt. Those numbers are going to go up from 210 and 60. He is extremely efficient. They're offensive line. They're getting, you know, a first round draft pick back from health. I think that this is going to be the year that Carry on breaks out.

So, you know, my fire pick, I know I've talked about them a lot. There's not much more I need to say other than this. I'm sticking with what I've been saying for two years. 2019 will be the year of Carry on Johnson. Do you have, so if there are two little alarm bells that go off for me and you can speak to them briefly and we'll get into Mike's pick, I worry, like, do we think that Detroit is a better football team than the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, or Chicago Bears?

I do not think they are a better football team than those teams, no. And so my concern is that a little bit like my Golden Tate argument, will the touchdowns be there to the degree that CarryOn can sufficiently break out? 100%. I have Carry on down for eight rushing touchdowns. That's not an exorbitant number.

I actually have his utilization. I didn't move him very far up from the 260 that he was already on pace for last season. I think he's just so efficient and game breaking. There's hyper talented players like David Johnson, though, who when the offense did not do enough, you saw the swing in fantasy production. Still RB10, though. Right. Yeah. And that's my point. I think this offense isn't going to be great.

But I think it's going to be better than it was last season. And fire to be half. Fire to be had. What I forgot about Kerry on Johnson was just how fantastic the target volume was. Yeah. You did see a very clear transition. If you're just going to do a box score hunt, LaGarad Blunt, once week seven hit, I mean three carries, five, six, when he was averaging right around double digit carries. And that's when carry on Johnson.

really took over as the main guy and he was averaging five targets a game. He's an explosive player passes the eye test. Look, Matthew Stafford's always passed to the running back. Yes, he is. Theo Riddick has been one of the leaders in the last several years. If Carry on Johnson is on the field more, he'll have more targets. Theo's still hanging out though, right? He is still hanging out.

All right. Mike, you get to finish this up. Your fire pick for the year. My fire pick. We've talked about him a little bit. He's already got himself one of them fancy trademark fantasy footballers nicknames David Montgomery, aka David Mopportunity. Yes. My opportunity knocking. It absolutely is. I want to just highlight a couple things about David.

You can't even say it, can you? Well, just not every time. Exactly. He'll be mopping up the floor with defenses. Look, he's in the perfect situation. Do people realize last year Jordan Howard had the sixth most attempts at the running back position? 250. People may not realize how high of a number he had because they got kind of burned by him for fantasy. And Matt Nagy.

is trying his best to create the Kansas City Chiefs, where he was cutting his teeth there. He learned the Andy Reed system. And David Montgomery has received some comps to Kareem Hunt. You can look at Graham Barfield has a methodology called Yards Created, where he looks at these rookies coming in. He said Dave Montgomery had the most mistackles per carry. Like he's a...

He's a decent player. He can do everything that Matt Nagy wants him to do. And I was hearkening back to when Kareem Hunt had his breakout year and there was that lull and everyone freaked out. What is going on with Kareem Hunt?

Once Matt Nagy took over the play calling, that's when Kreme Hunt saw more volume than he had seen that entire season. Matt Nagy's not afraid to use one guy. He wanted Jordan Howard to be that one guy and treat Cohen to be an auxiliary pass catcher here and there. But he wants a running back on the field who the defense has no idea what we're going to do and Montgomery can work perfectly inside the passing game.

I think the Bears are going to be a fantastic team. They're going to be in very positive game scripts more often than not. And David, my opportunity, I am very excited for what he can do for fantasy purposes. The Bears showed their hand. They literally turned the cards around and showed their hand when they drafted Montgomery. Straighted up for him. And because of how much they gave up to get him, it's not just, I mean, he's a third round pick. You go, so what?

They had no picks to work with. They had so few picks because of the Mitchell Tribeschi trade and other trades. The Caliol Mac trade. They just had no draft capital. And the little draft capital they had, they said, I'm using all of it to move up and make sure we get our guy. How does Mike Davis, the signing in the offseason? And then Tariq Cohen's usage, because when he runs the football, he's a 4.4, a carry guy. He's only probably.

You can only probably pencil them in for something like 110, 120 carries on the season. 120 would be the most he's ever gotten. Well, yeah, but he's a young player who's now, you know. Sure, but you give a guy more carries because he earns them. He had a chance last year. I mean, Darren Sproles, you've seen that. He's had seasons where he doesn't get the ball at ton on the ground. You've had seasons where he gets it a lot. Sure. For Tareke Cohen, I still see him as a sub-100 rushing attempt guy. And for Mike Davis, it's the Bears entered into the draft that they don't know.

what they're going to actually be able to do. I compare it very much to the Raiders went out. They added Isaiah Crowell. They still took a first round running back. Now, Montgomery was not a first rounder, of course, but these teams scoop up veteran players for low amounts of money because they're not 100% sure they're going to be able to get the player they want in the draft. So it's, to me, even though it was very quick, it seems more like a backup plan now at this point to me.
