The blue medical tent enters the injury dryer
The hosts revive the show's blue-medical-tent Halloween costume as appropriate for another mass-injury weekend. Sunday feels like tumbling through a dryer, every player ending in '-uka' receives an apology, and Egbuka's injury takes an unnamed host's last lung and newly purchased cards. This transcript does not label the host recalling the costume.

Two 9–1 superteams sit at 72 and 62 at recording time
Mike and Papa Josh own the League of Record's 9–1, first- and second-highest-scoring keeper superteams, called the presumed 1A and 1B. A normal win is about 135 points, but at recording time Mike sits at 72 and Josh at 62 as their stars fail. Josh is then mocked for already trading every draft pick despite the need for depth; the figures are an in-progress snapshot, not final scores.
moment
Monday Punday flushes the injury board
Jason admits he did not help prepare Monday Punday before the hosts run through a dense set of good and bad player mutations: Scatter-boom, Jackpot Smith-Njigba, Rico Belcowdle, Kendrick Bourne Supremacy, Emeka Egg Big Boo, Quin-Shart Judkins, Toilet Tagovailoa, Kenneth Walker the Turd, Stefon Diggs My Grave, Troy Stanklin, and Puke Nacua.
moment
Wins are skill and losses are luck
The hosts instruct listeners who had a good fantasy week to absorb it as the product of skill, while a loss is always caused by bad luck.
moment
Laser Mayfield powers up as a dog
Baker Mayfield is called Laser Mayfield and the current MVP. Every lost Tampa weapon is expected to be too much, but the hosts answer 'dog don't care,' say he keeps powering up, and an unnamed host declares love for him.
moment
Achane is gold in Mike McDaniel's toilet
De'Von Achane is described as a shining golden nugget inside Miami's toilet. The hosts decide someone has gone number two there and identify Mike McDaniel as the little tiny turd, while insisting the gold is still worth retrieving and washing one's hands afterward.
moment
Cade Otton creates the 250-pound lift rule
Cade Otton's weekly habit of taking huge hits escalates into a body slam, which the hosts still distinguish from legal lifting. They invent a rule permitting defenders to lift players over 250 pounds because the feat shows strength and bigger players can take the fall. Otton measures 247 without pads, then his equipment is counted to move him above the proposed lift threshold; Achane may be thrown only if caught.
moment
Kenneth Walker asks what he is
After three worsening fantasy weeks and extensive commentary, the hosts repeatedly ask Kenneth Walker 'What are you?' He alternates between looking like football's best player and not mattering, while Seattle cuts him to 35 percent of snaps and uses Zach Charbonnet heavily.
moment
Rhamondre earns an unnamed host the Wheel
An unnamed host says he will finally spin the Wheel of Shame on Friday and deserves every bit of it because he predicted 43 rushing yards for Rhamondre Stevenson. The transcript does not identify the losing host.
moment
TreVeyon Henderson's controller is unplugged
TreVeyon Henderson freezes in a serious three-point pass-protection stance while Drake Maye moves away. He shuffles in place, ready to block nobody, and the desk first calls it a stuck-controller moment before upgrading the diagnosis to an unplugged controller; the follow-up explicitly says he may be overthinking after coaching criticism and contrasts that treatment with Guns Mahoney correcting players before building them back up.
moment
Mike takes his deserved Rico victory lap
An unlabeled host declares 'I love Rico,' is answered with 'Yeah, you do,' and receives permission for a deserved victory lap. Minutes later Mike is directly invited to compare Rico Dowdle's rushing total with Saquon Barkley's and immediately answers Rico, corroborating that the celebration belongs to Mike.
moment
Guns Mahoney corrects them and builds them back up
While contrasting Henderson's coaching treatment with Detroit's approach, the hosts revive the Coach Guns Mahoney name and recount a philosophy of correcting players who take plays off, then building them back up and returning them to the field.
summary
Episode notes
The injury-heavy opening revives the show's blue-medical-tent Halloween costume as seasonally appropriate, compares the weekend to tumbling through a dryer, apologizes to every injured player whose name ends in '-uka,' and turns Emeka Egbuka's injury into the loss of an unnamed host's last remaining lung after a weekend of buying his cards. League of Record provides the episode's strongest personal consequence: Mike and Papa Josh own the two 9–1, first- and second-highest-scoring keeper superteams, yet at recording time Mike sits at 72 points and Josh at 62 as their stars fail; Josh is also teased for already trading every available draft pick. Monday Punday returns with Jason admitting he did not help and a full board of mutations including Rico Belcowdle, Kendrick Bourne Supremacy, Emeka Egg Big Boo, Toilet Tagovailoa, Kenneth Walker the Turd, Stefon Diggs My Grave, Troy Stanklin, and Puke Nacua. The desk then states the universal fantasy doctrine that wins come from skill and losses from bad luck. Mike receives permission for a Rico Dowdle victory lap after declaring his love, then immediately answers Rico when directly asked to compare his rushing total with Saquon Barkley's. Baker Mayfield becomes Laser Mayfield, the MVP, and a dog who keeps powering up as Tampa loses weapons. De'Von Achane is a golden nugget in Miami's toilet, where Mike McDaniel is imagined as the tiny turd. Cade Otton's habit of taking huge hits becomes an invented rule allowing defenders to lift—but not slam—a pass catcher above a 250-pound threshold; Achane may be thrown but must be caught. A general Kenneth Walker discussion reaches an identity crisis as the hosts repeatedly ask 'What are you?' while Seattle gives Zach Charbonnet the goal-line work. An unnamed host accepts an upcoming Wheel of Shame spin after predicting 43 Rhamondre Stevenson rushing yards. TreVeyon Henderson then freezes in an empty pass-protection stance like a disconnected controller, ready to block nobody while overthinking coaching criticism; the diagnosis is contrasted with Coach Guns Mahoney's correct-and-build-them-back-up approach.
The Fantasy Footballers Studio is sponsored by Walmart. Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh! Oh, what happened? Oh! Welcome in! Oh! Slopped my toe! Oh! My knee! Oh, mama! Monday! October 13th! Welcome into the Fantasy Footballers! I think this was about the time of the year last year I became inspired to dress up as a blue medical tent for Halloween and it would be appropriate again.
It would be appropriate again. What a painful weekend of football. Yeah, a lot more significant, important injuries this week than the usual. We always... There's always one. There's always one or two weeks every year where you exit Sunday and you go, what happened? Like, how could it possibly hit all the star players? Yeah, it felt like climbing into a dryer and hitting tumble and then coming out the other side going, what happened? If your name ended in an Uca, I'm sorry. Yeah. There are injuries that are devastating for your fantasy teams and then there are ones that are emotionally devastating.
Agbuka's injury... Come on, man. That was all you had left was your lung. That was all I had left in the world. And, uh... I'm buying Agbuka cards all weekend. It's been taken from you. And then Puka, obviously. And then there were a ton of... I mean, we get into studs and duds today, but there were so many, like, underwhelming performances and disappointments and... But here's the best example of how wild and wacky fantasy can be and sometimes these weeks are bad. In our league of record, there are two teams that are nine and one. We play against median, so you get two points, you know...
Also known as the number one and number two scoring teams. Yeah, of course. As well. The highest scoring teams, you guys are dominant. This is the most important thing you could be talking about today. I'm just pointing out... Dominators. These two teams, which one of them's mine and one of them is Josh, we didn't, like, squeak through. No, you guys are super teams. This is a nine and one that should be 10 and 0, really. Both of them. Yeah, we are... Our league of record is a keeper league, so it's not just, oh, you guys drafted well. It's you two came in this year having, you know, sold a little bit last year, accumulated
extra draft picks. So there's a wider gulf of disparity in keeper leagues, and you guys are at the top. You are the presumed 1A and 1B, like the super teams that, you know, I'm going to have to try to beat this year. And I know that the road goes through you guys. Well, your matchup... Your matchup this week... Yeah, comfort yourself with this data, folks. ...is to win in our league, you usually put up about 135 points in our scoring system. Right now, Mike, you have 72 points. Your super team has 72. Hold on. I still got one player, though.
You got a player left. Oh, you're probably going to lose by a lot, then. Yeah, because I had Bo... My Sunday started with Bo Nix. Yeah, let's hear some of these stars. Bo Nix. Ah. Courtland Sutton, Garrett Wilson, Juwan Johnson, Zay Flowers. I had that combo. Yeah, Zay Flowers... Which was at about five guys for about 25 points or so. Nice, nice. Yeah, I mean, those are just duds, duds, duds, duds. And you're going to win. You're going to win because Papa Josh is sitting at 62 points right now. And he had Judkins and... Javante. ...Puka and... Kenneth Walker. Just.
I mean, it's really crazy. Sometimes weeks are wild. Yeah, it's... I walked away from this weekend just going like... Well, we always say, like, the beginning of the season, a team can look like a super team and then it changes quickly, right? This is why we say stay kind of... Yes. Stay active because teams, you know, an injury, like... Puka goes down. That's going to mess up. I mean, it messed up four or five of my teams. Mm-hmm. I mean, I lost everywhere this weekend. I lost everywhere and I lost players. I lost everywhere. It was just a horrific... Yep.
It's one of the weeks. I'm going to survive in our cut league. I thought inevitably I would also be chopped. I think I'll survive. Maybe not, but probably. But it was just one of those miserable, awful weeks where, you know, you just have to try to survive. But to the rest of the point I was going to say, it's just like, you know, you need to try to wait a little bit on trade sometimes as well. Because it's like if you accumulate early, injuries really disrupt the way the final part of the season is going to go. Obviously, you need to adjust and make trades all the time.
I'm just thinking, like, if you want to make that stretch run, that might mean pushing right up to the trade deadline sometimes to see who has the clearest path and the healthiest players. Because you can build a super team today in week six, week five and a half. You still need to have... And it's not going to be that in week 11. You still need to have depth. And then as your trade deadline and you're really making... Like, that's when you can consolidate into, you know, really turning in two spots into one great player. Yeah. I mean, Papa Josh is like, so you mean we shouldn't have traded every draft pick we have already?
I don't know. Maybe. I mean, Norm... I just know that you got absolutely dismantled. Yeah. Mike? Which? What happened on Thursday, Mike? You had such... Wasn't it Thursday that you had terrible games and you thought the week was already over? No, no. It was Sunday morning. It was the London game. Oh, London. That's what it was. It's the stupid freaking international game. The most disgusting game of football that... Oh, yeah. Don't make us wake up for that! It was so disgusting on offense for the Jets that, like, every week we've had a rant of some sort. The Cardinals got their time and we could rant on them forever.
However, this week is the Jets. Oh, man. The Jets are so bad at football. Disgusting. I'm wearing their colors today. I don't know why. Maybe a final farewell as they get relegated into the collegiate football ranks. It was the worst coaching quarterback performance I've ever seen! Yeah. It's up there, man. It's up... It's down there. Kurt Warner was tweeting while he called the game because he was so, like, what am I watching? He's like, I'm calling a game with no forward passes. The Jets and it was horrifically bad. The... I didn't think it would be that bad, honestly, because, I mean, that was impossibly bad.
But it's the... If the Jets... If Garrett Wilson is locked up with a true number one shutdown corner... Oh, yeah. End the game. Then the team can't do... Like, if Garrett Wilson is so good that he can make the Jets look competent from time to time... And, you know, it's like what Mason Taylor had one catch, I think, after... Ask how many Brees Hall had. Brees... Hey, it's zero, right? Zero. Yeah. As soon as Garrett Wilson is eliminated, which Sertan can do that, then the Jets are eliminated. They took nine sacks. Nine sacks. He had... He had net negative 10 yards when you look at his passing completions with sack yardage lost.
So he lost more yards on sacks than he even completed in total. Goodness gracious. It was just... And then they said this morning, you know, I'm not going to bench him for one bad game. Yeah. I mean, you can't. This is what put Tyrod in? Yep. No. 45 total passing yards. Oh, 45? I thought it was only 43. No, no. It's the net. Oh, 43. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, that's not the net, Mike. Yeah, no, the net. That's the total. All right. We'll dig in. We've got Monday Punday. We've got Studs and Duds. We've got lots to talk about news.
We'll see how long players are going to be around, and we'll dig in right now. I asked Jason to jump in and help me with the... Oh, you're just shifting blame? ...the Monday Punday. And I don't think he did. Nah, I didn't. Why don't you start us off, Jay? All right. We'll start with the good. We'll remember Cam. Scatter-boom. Wham-bam. Thank you, Cam. How about... Hey, Kamani Vidal. Oh, baby. There are some running back situations where... What in the world do you do? Well, hindsight says it was Kamani Vidal. Yeah. Jackpot. Jackpot, Smith, and Jigbo. One of the best in fantasy.
Yeah. Rico. Yeah. Bow-chicka-waddle. Yeah, waddle. I didn't get to be here last week. Rico! Rico Belcowdle. Yeah. Unbelievable. Yeah. Yay, McBride. T.D. Roa McMillan. Mm-hmm. Kendrick Bourne Supremacy. Oh, JS Wynn. Yeah. Okay. We had some bad ones. I'll start. Emeka Egg Big Boo. Yeah. Awesome. Quin-Sean Dudkins. Quin-Shart Judkins? Yeah. Toilet Tag of Oiloa. I love that one. All right. Matthew Stafford. Go. Kenneth Walker the Turd. Stefan Diggs My Grave. Yeah. Cortland nothing. And Troy Stanklin. Wait. Yeah. Puke Nakua.
I was like, puke Nakua? I don't even... Puke. Yeah. Oh, man. Now, here's the thing for everybody. You know, I had a great fantasy week. Yeah, no. If you... Honestly. If you look at your team and you had a great week this week, feel it. Take that in. Let it be a positive light because there are... And remember that it was... So many that had bad ones. Remember that it was skill. Right, right, right, right, right. Yes. It was skill that got you the dub. It was bad luck that got you the yell. Always true. Sometimes you got to remember...
Because you have weeks like this. Remember that you have good weeks. I told you guys I thought I'd make the playoffs last week. Oh, you were... No, you said I'm making the playoffs. Yeah, I really thought I was... And then halfway through the games yesterday, you sold... I told him to sell my players. I mean, Marvin Harrison went out with a concussion mid-game. Emeka Ibuka went out mid-game. I was... I knew it was over. And I got out. So, let's talk news. News and notes from around the league. Presented by Progressive Insurance. We found out that the Cowboys had placed Miles Sanders on season-ending IR.
Yeah, that escalated quick. Just remember you're like one twisted ankle from Jaden Blue being a meaningful fantasy contributor. Yeah, yeah, nope. Jaden Blue should be on the Oscars. And a younger, talented speedster. So, pay attention to that. What's the status of Phil Moffa? Is he... I think he's still in IR. He should be eligible to return soon. Did they even keep him on the roster? I think so. They moved him to IR, yeah. Okay. Yeah, I mean, Jaden Blue. He'll be in the waiver wire show. Kyler Murray dealing with a mid-foot sprain. Uncertain for week seven against the Packers. They have a week eight bye, so I would expect him to miss one more week.
Did you see the... I don't have the true stat in front of me, but... Because Jacoby, Beef, Brisket, Brissette threw for 320 and two. Yeah, it had been like... It was like the last time Kyler Murray threw for 302 has been like a thousand plus days or something. Yeah. Where's the beef? Yeah. It's been weird because I think there's been three times Kyler's missed games where the backup came in and looked really good for like one game. Mm-hmm. And then it all fell apart. Dobbs. Yeah. Joshua Dobbs was one of them for sure. But with the week eight bye, Kyler might not be back.
Who knows if Marvin Harrison will be back right away because he had a concussion in the game in his return to Indianapolis. Cardinals offense got good as soon as you got rid of Kyler and Marv. Yeah, they were productive. I mean, it was like Zay Jones looked great. All of a sudden, these wide receivers... Yeah, Dork scored and Trey McBride got into the end zone and he should have scored at the end. I thought he was held on that play. Oh, yeah. He definitely was. Anthony Richardson, this was crazy. He was using a... I can't believe it's true because it's a terrible injury.
Yeah, I would have not let them... It seemed made up. Yeah, you wouldn't have let them tell... I would have gone with the narrative that the team is just so done with me that I'm been inactive. Or at least like I got into a big fight. Someone swung a helmet at me. He basically had an accident with a resistance band and it fractured his eye. Oh, it was... Oh, man. I didn't know it was that bad. It's an orbital eye fracture. Right. And he missed the game. And then... Oh, man. They also had... Was it... Who was it? Cam Ward?
No, it was... Well, not Cam Ward. Tredavious Ward? Tredavious Ward. Yeah, in warm-ups? They have the video of it. Yeah. In warm-ups, he's just running kind of like coverage out to the outside and their tight end came onto the field. He ran into him and he got a concussion. Yeah. And he got knocked out of the game. They had two players knocked out of the game in warm-ups. Darnell Mooney is out for tonight. Colston Loveland questionable. Dalton Kincaid questionable for the doubleheader. And then Debo Samuel, they said they'd take it down to the game time. Talked about him on Sunday Live.
He's listed as questionable, but the follow-up on that was a true game time decision. So it was... I expect him to play. I think he will. But you better have an option. Yeah, I added Luke McCaffrey. Yeah. There you go. Because you're not going to have Terry McLaurin. Well, that was back when I had Debo. And when I started the games yesterday. Yeah, of course. He's not on my team. I don't care anymore. But the other one would be Jalen Lane. You could decide between Luke McCaffrey, Jalen Lane. You could pick up Cole Komet as an emergency play. I think Cole Komet is not bad.
Especially if Loveland doesn't play. Yeah, if you had to flex somebody over Debo. Yeah. If you got word about it. Rashi Rice eligible to return from suspension this week against the Raiders. Oh, man. And they just beat the Lions. Oh, the Chiefs. Hey, guess who's back? Yeah. Yeah, and Mahomes is... He looks great. He's a good football player. Mecca Ibuka left early with a hamstring injury. Didn't return. He's going to have an MRI today. Initial reports were that they don't suspect it to be as bad as Mike Evans' hamstring strain. But we will not... We don't really know. Can we just talk about how good Baker is?
Just serious. Laser Mayfield. He is... He's the MVP right now. I mean, for sure. If voting was today and the season was over, he would be the MVP. He's doing it all. It's like he just keeps losing one more piece at a time. And it's like, well, he... Okay, it's this... Dog don't care. He can't handle that much. It's actually... And it's just like, yes, he can. He's powering up still. I love him so much. Yeah. He's actually... It'll be a big part of the waiver show is looking at options on that team. I traded Debo mid-morning and had to fill in a emergency flex, which I did with Tess Johnson.
Oh, my gosh. Which was my highest scoring player. Hey, that was a great catch. And I'm just... Yeah, it was a great catch. Like, I was a fingertip layup. Yeah, that was a good catch. It was a good one. But I think it was... Somebody else caught a touchdown there. Tyler Johnson? Who was it? Yeah, it was the other... The other Johnson. Caleb Johnson. Yeah. Caleb Johnson, maybe? No. Caleb Johnson is the stealer. Cam. Madison. Cameron. I'm doing great. It's one of those weeks, man. It's Cameron Johnson with a K. Cameron with a K. Yeah. Did you see the story from Tess Johnson, by the way?
His little... Yeah. It was so funny. The MVP chants started? Because he made a great play. He made a great play. They start chanting MVP. He goes up... And the way he says it is just so innocent and funny as a little rookie. And he goes up to Sterling Shepard. He goes, they're chanting MVP. He's like... He goes, I ain't done nothing this year. And he goes, it's for Baker, man. And he goes, oh, yeah, that makes sense. Puka Nakua, ankle sprain. It's likely to miss... He's going to miss some time. There was a report this morning. The probable liar, Sean McVay, came out and said he's day-to-day.
It was almost identical to CeeDee Lamb. Yeah. I mean, you see this all the time. He tried to get back up. And he's like, I'm going to walk it off. Nope. Goes down. Halftime. Comes back. He's doing some warm-ups on the side. Thinks he's... You're just like, no, you're done, man. Yeah. It'll probably be a couple weeks. I bet it'll be three weeks. Well, they have a bye in week eight. So, definitely... That helps. ...adds up, right? I mean, six, seven, then the bye? Six, seven. Oh, my gosh. You both did that. Oh, man. It's for the youths. Yeah, wow.
Garrett Wilson... The fact you simultaneously have the problem. Garrett Wilson suffered a knee injury in Sunday's game in London. That didn't help. And a brain injury from having to be a part of that offense. Yeah. Marvin Harrison Jr. left early with a concussion. He had a couple catches. Hit his head on the ground. It was pretty obvious that he was going to be hurt in that one. John Harbaugh expects Lamar Jackson to return after the bye. They need him. Yeah. We lost Ontavian Wicks to an ankle injury. Gasicki this week. Najoku with a knee injury. That one's kind of big because Harold Fannin had...
I mean, there was 48 pass attempts in that game by Dylan Gabriel. And I think only three went over 10 yards. But Harold Fannin, like, PPR that game. I don't... Are you pulling up his stat line, Jay? No, I was just surprised you said 48 because I thought it was more. It was. He had 52 passing attempts. Okay. Maybe 48 of them went to Harold Fannin based on those numbers. Yeah. Fannin, he will be an option. But, man, those injuries that were... Like, Najoku got blasted. He had two different injuries. Gabriel is throwing hospital balls. And we'll see how long that he can keep doing that before players are like,
