He did it. He did it. We did it. Congratulations to Josh McCown. When I was like a teenager, I watched him play for the Cardinals at Sun Devil Stadium before they even had a new stadium. He was the starting quarterback. That seems like a generation ago. I forget that that's the same Josh McCown. I know. It's got to be some different guy, right? I have a strong memory of having a conversation with my dad of, can Josh McCown be the guy? And I was just a young pup, and I'm like, yeah.

Josh McCowan, he can do it. Eight-year-old hitman. I was very wrong. That's because it was 2002. That's why you talked that way. 2002, he was a cardinal. Man. But his career is really admirable and fascinating. You go from out of the league. He thinks he's done. He's, I believe, was working. Didn't play in 06, didn't play in 2010.

And he was a, I think a high school coach and was doing some teaching, gets a call from the Bears that says, hey, you know, we want you to come try out. He talks to his wife and decides, okay, I'll do it. Ends up. Is it the backup comes in when Cutler goes out with a monster year for the Trestman system. Does he send loyalties? Does he send royalties to Mike Tresden? So that one year got him.

the starting gig in Tampa Bay, where how much did he make? I think it was $5 million. And I believe he's going to make another $5 million in the Browns. So he should at least send Trussman at least a million dollars. That's, hey, it's been a crazy career. And honestly, when you look at the free agent crowd and you look at Cleveland situation, why wouldn't you want Josh McCown starting? Oh, yeah, he's the starter there. He's delighting as much as one can take delight in the fall of the first round quarterback. McCown's going to come in. He'll play his one year. And with a guy with that teaching background, that's perfect to have him around. It is smart of them.

Yeah, he's been around the block. He's played under good quarterbacks in different systems. But most importantly now, we can discuss the free agency of Brian Hoyer, who is now... The bills... And now we can move on from discussing the free agency of Brian Boyle. Quarterbacks in general. How sad and how slighted is Rex Ryan for missing out on the Josh McGowan sweepstakes? Yeah, seriously, that's ridiculous. Those guys, the Jets...

And Buffalo, I'm really curious to see what those coaches do at the quarterback position because they're both good coaches. They're both defensive-minded coaches. Which one ends up with a better mediocre quarterback? Mark Sanchez reunites for the tattoo. Oh, my goodness. You think so? I do. I do. I think he goes back because E.J. He, to me, has, you know, kind of RG3-year-one fantasy potential, potentially out of value, if the hype train doesn't go nuts, if he gets signed there. Yeah. Can Mariotto give you fantasy numbers? Yeah, I don't know how much you guys watched Oregon, but, you know. A little bit, but I like my quarterbacks late. So, I mean, I have a couple guys where,

I'm targeting Eli Manning and Joe Flacco to get them, you know, ninth, tenth round. Let's say something somehow implodes. I don't mind going week one with Marriota. If he's on the Eagles, of course. Just give it a ride. And, I mean, then you can just stream and find another option. But I don't mind taking him really late and seeing how it works out. I've never had an opinion.

Like I do on Marriota, where I think, whether it's year one or year 10, Mariotta is a good NFL quarterback on the Eagles and a bad NFL quarterback anywhere else. I've never felt like that ever. So it's the Chip Kelly Factor. It's different. And you have had guy, I mean, Cam Newton, RG3, they've had fantasy impacts on year one. With legs. With legs. And Mariotas. She got legs.

Yes, he does. Do you guys want to just kind of wrap up the quarterbacks then since we can talk about quarterbacks a little bit? Let's go through the quarterbacks here. We talked about Josh McCown. I don't think there's, you know, there's not a lot of fantasy relevance here, so I don't want to linger too long. But Mark Sanchez, if he's gone, we just talked about Marietta's situation. If Marietta doesn't go there, it's probably Foles again in Philly. Who's Nick Foles? I mean, what is he?

He had that kind of great year where he wasn't turning the ball over. Well, if you really watched what was happening, I think that was just a lot of luck built into that because he was still making throws that he should not. He was just getting that fluke dropped continuously from the defense. But I think Foles is a good quarterback. I don't know if he's great, but he's...

He has to carry value, especially if they're, I mean, let's say that they are trying to move up. You're going to, what do you do with Foles? You can't, you can't take a guy with that. He's part of that trade, probably? Maybe. I mean, I don't know if the Jets want him for the system that that Chang Galey runs, but you can't have a guy with that experience, with that amount of success, and just put him on the bench and get nothing for him. You got to use that.

that chip and cash it into at least something. So let's say he's back in Philly. Mariotta is nowhere to be found. Who do you like between, say, a Flacco or Foles? I'm going to go with the offense system there and I'll go with Foles. Foles will cost more on draft days. That's why I would go with Flacco. And I have that weird, that weird.

He, Fitzpatrick, and he played fantasy-wise, played quite well in Houston. Yeah, if Sanchez went to Buffalo, there's no value. No, what value did he have when Rex Ryan was coaching the Jets? Yeah, no value. His value was running into dudes' butts.

Entertainment. Entertainment value. Poor guy. That butt fumble's going to stay with him forever. Because it's the funniest play you've ever seen in your life. It was brutal. It was a brutal play that just totally illustrated the entire Jets team in one play. So free agents that we have here are McCown, Sanchez, Brian Hoyer, we talked about. Jake Locker is a free agent, and Ryan Mallet is a free agent. Is there anything of interest to talk about here? I mean, Mettenberger.

If Locker's gone, he's the starter? Yes. If they don't draft. Yeah, I think they're going to roll with Metenberger. To say the one thing, the one, I guess, rumor floated, maybe not even just a rumor, just a trying to connect the dots of interest is if Chicago, Chicago is not getting behind Jay Cutler with anything they have to say. He has a very difficult contract to do anything with you.

can't cut him because your dead money is just not worth the return. And trading him, I mean, who's going to take on that contract besides a team, like a Buffalo, if for some reason Rex Ryan thought they were very close, you would pay the price to bring in a quarterback who is shown he can actually play the game. But then the question becomes if Jay Cutler get, if they move on from Jay, what do they do?

Because why would you move on from a guy who can actually win games and just throw garbage in there? And the name Jake Locker is somewhat interesting. You get a guy who was drafted in the first round. We don't really, I don't think it's completely fair to know who Jake Locker is besides a guy who gets hurt all the time. And we don't know exactly what he brings to the NFL besides that injury history. You know who Jake Locker reminds me of?

I would describe him as a poor man's Jay Cutler. So, maybe. You could pay him tremendously less. Literally the poor man's Jay. You remember Jake Cutler? Jake Locker, when he came out, if he would have came out of Washington the year before he did, he was the number one pick in the draft. He pulled the, he did the Matt Leinert. Yeah, I was going to say so was Matt Leiner. I mean, that would have been, yeah. And I tend to think that like a quarterback like this,

They rise to the top a little sooner. So I don't know if he has much value or not. But any other thoughts on Mettenberger? Does he have, is he irrelevant? I don't want that offense. I mean, I'm trying to make something out of nothing here. That offense isn't worth drafting. Yeah, it depends on what they do in the draft or free agency. If they can get anybody worth an offensive weapon in there. All right, let's talk about.

Free agent tight ends, much more exciting, much more impactful to the fantasy football season because these guys are big names, the biggest of them all. Orange Julius. Orange Julius. Go down to the mall. His options are obviously very limited. He has to go to a team that wears orange, so his only options are Cincinnati, Cleveland. The Browns. Browns now that they're orange. You can't abandon a nickname like that. Yeah.

So Julius Thomas, all indications have been that he will be gone. Pretty well established that he'll be gone. But there are some talks that Peyton's restructuring could enable him to keep Julius. And that Peyton would restructure so that they could keep Julius. That reminds me of the Brady Welker thing that happened and didn't happen where Brady restructured and didn't get to keep Welker.

Thought he did? Right. If Julius Thomas moves on, he's probably signing with one of those, the Raiders of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Yeah, probably. I mean, he's going for the money, which he should. Before we moved on, with Manning, what are you doing with that contract? Do you want to win? Does he want to win or does he want to just have more money than he can never spend in three lifetimes?
