after Lev Bell went out, Josh Adams was heavily involved. So it's really not a situation you want to be even within a 20-foot radius. We know Frank Gore is going to get all the carries he can handle it. I mean, you would have thought you'd see that last week and you didn't. I think it's Gore-Belage and it's the exact running back room that Adam Gaze has just been dreaming of it. That sounded like one name.

14:32 ↗

I think it's Gorgelage. Ooh, Gourbelage. That sounds as nice as that backfield. That backfield is straight Gourbalage. It was the old foreign minister for Mother Russia. Yes, that's right. Gourbelage. Tear down this wall. Mr. Gourbalage. Oh, man. Some sweet Berlin wall references. Yeah, we like to get those in.

14:58 ↗

All right. Rap sheet reporting Philip Lindsay battling turf toe. Still receiving a second opinion. First opinion, he didn't like it. Don't be surprised to see him miss the next few weeks. You drop Philip Lindsay? I probably would. I mean, everything is context. How big is your bench? But yeah, I'm probably going to drop Lindsay. Do you drop Philip Lindsay to pick up Miles gas can? Yeah, I would. I would rather have. I would too.

15:27 ↗

Miles Gaskin on my roster and see what happens right now. All right. And then what's the latest with this Alan Robinson drama? So Alan Robinson asked for a trade. This is after taking all of his social media stuff away. Then it comes out later from the agent that they have not requested a trade, but that he is unhappy. Yada, yada, yada. He wants a big contract. And.

15:50 ↗

the bears want him around and they think he's great. And for some reason, they don't want to pay him the money he clearly deserves. So TBD, but it is possible that if the bears are doing poorly this year and they get near that deadline that you could see Alan Robinson moved if he doesn't have a contract by then. Yeah, I don't think anything's going to happen in season, but we'll find out. And then we do have a Mohammed's the new sighting. He was signed by the San Francisco 49ers.

16:23 ↗

Mediocre signing of the week. Is this matter for fantasy football, Mike? I was trying to remember what, so in 2016, that's when Mosinu went down to the Falcons. And you know who his offensive coordinator was? Kyle Shanahan. So that's the only reason that some familiarity. That it possibly matters. Breaking news. We have breaking news? We have breaking news.

16:55 ↗

Uh, this is, uh, I was, I was just scared. Yeah. I've never had, you guys, peel back the curtain for a split second to, you know, the anticipation is now, uh, building, Mr. Moore. Yeah. Uh, but you have a button for breaking news so that you can scare the crap out of me anytime you want. So what, what's the breaking news? Richard Sherman has been placed on I are. So the, really, the 49ers defense that was without Jason Verrett and now Richard Sherman.

17:23 ↗

And a hobble, George Kittle. A little bit susceptible. You mean, you say Sherman susceptible? I'm saying the 49ers defense is, I mean, there's still a very good defense. But if, I mean, if you lose a bunch of your really good players, you're not quite as good as when you have them. Okay. Wow. That's what they say to say, the old adage. Yes. All right, like I mentioned earlier, by the way.

Check out Jointhefoot.com, our fantasy football community. One of the cool things we added this year for the Foot Clan premier tier is a brand new podcast called The Injury Blitz. After the practice reports on Friday, we have our injury expert, Matthew Betts, weigh in on all the implications. And this is a humongous part of fantasy football because you don't want to just know, is a player in, is a player out. You want to know whether they're going to be effective for your team. Are they going to be able to be out there and contribute, or do you need to...

18:18 ↗

you know, slide them into your bench for a week and play somebody else. So this is another resource, another tool that we've added to the tool belt over at join the foot.com. The feedback was excellent. People were really helped by that. And we don't even like bets. And that's what shocked me about the response. Yeah, the guy's the worst.

18:37 ↗

But you can check that out in the whole community, all the perks at join the foot.com. Like I said at the top of the show, we had a chance a few weeks ago to sit down with Patrick Mahomes and Troy Palomalu and have a chat ski about the upcoming season and have him weigh in about Clyde Edwards DeLair and some other things. So we wanted to share that with you before the Thursday night preview. You talking to me? All right. The fantasy footballers are absolutely thrilled to welcome in.

19:10 ↗

Two-time Super Bowl winner, Hall of Famer, Hair Champion of the World, Troy Palomalu, along with fellow hair champ, now Super Bowl champ, Patrick Mahomes. Welcome to the show, guys. Thank you for having us. Appreciate it. And we are so excited to have you on. Now, I have to get this out of the way. I need to address Troy directly here. We are all Cardinal fans on the other side of this phone line.

19:41 ↗

And I'm on, I'm still on like a 30-year plan recovering from Super Bowl 43. So I'm not sure we're going to get there. Please don't tell me that your son, Phoenix, was born in 2008 as well. Not quite. No, he was not. My son was born that year and you, you made the mistake before then. No, I'm joking. Oh, yes. Oh, my God. You're the man, dude. You're the man.

20:11 ↗

Yeah, Mike's son's listening in, too. So we're huge Cardinal fans. We'll try not to dwell on that. I think it was a little greedy that you needed two Super Bowl victories and couldn't give us one, but we'll just move on. We'll move forward. But let's start here. This has been an absolutely crazy offseason. Obviously, there is a lot going on in the world, much bigger than football. Patrick, you just won a Super Bowl.

20:37 ↗

And so my question to you is how do you prepare for a season like this? I think the biggest thing you get to do is going in with the mindset. If you're going to accept every single challenge every single day, I mean, you've got to expect the unexpected. But the best thing you can do is be the best you can be every single day. And I think that's what I've kind of always had the mindset of doing is I go in with the mindset. Whatever challenge it is, I'm going to go right after and I'm going to attack it.

21:05 ↗

And that's the thing that the world that we live in today is that you don't know what to expect. But if you do it to the best of your ability, you can never have any regrets after. Yeah, it's been an absolutely crazy year. And, you know, congrats to you on the huge victory. You know, we're huge Patrick Mahomes fans. And Troy, I think this is interesting. You were in a similar boat to Patrick in the fact that you won a Super Bowl right before there was a lockout where there wasn't training camp.

21:35 ↗

You came back. You won defensive player of the year. How did you approach kind of the uncertainty heading into the season? Yeah, actually, it's funny you say that that 2010 year was kind of a little lockout slash. It was a pretty confusing time going through the collective bargaining agreement. But, you know, I think Patrick actually said it best in an earlier interview where he said that I just want to focus on being the best person.

22:05 ↗

and the hardest worker. And I think you see that in him in the short time that I've had with him and just being a great person and being a hard worker. And I think that obviously has displayed itself throughout his career. And if I look back at my career when I actually had that mindset, because there were times when I didn't have that mindset, at times when I did have that mindset, I was without a doubt a better teammate and more successful.

22:35 ↗

I really, I think that given these hard times, that's really the only perspective that you can have, given the uncertainty, uncertainty of COVID, uncertainty of the protests and all these things that are happening, is that if you attack every day, if you approach every day, I'm going to be the best person possible, and be the most humble, I'm going to be the most virtuous person possible. And to counter that, I'm also going to be the hardest worker. So that means I'm going to be the best teammate possible.

23:01 ↗

as well as the hardest worker and the best example of being a best teammate. So going into a 2010 season for me was that mindset, as I think it is just who Patrick is in himself. Yeah, it's interesting because these times, I think, show you how little you control in one aspect. And then the stuff you guys are talking about is the part that you can control. You can control the effort. You can control the attitude. You can control being a great teammate.

23:31 ↗

This is another question I have because now, you know, Patrick is in the same boat that you were in, Troy, coming off a Super Bowl. You know, people talk all about Super Bowl slump or how difficult it is to come back and do it again. You know, is it possible to keep that same edge, you know, after you win it all going into the new year? Yeah, for me, I think the biggest thing for me is it's almost, you kind of have it building already again. I mean, I think.

24:00 ↗

not being able to kind of do the Super Bowl tour after the season, I mean, with all the stuff happening, just being quarantined, I feel like I missed out on a lot of the great cool things that you get to do after you win a Super Bowl. And so I'm excited to hopefully try to find a way to get that again and try to find a way to be able to do it the right way this next time and be able to go to the stadium and unveil your banner and have a full stadium at Arrowhead. And you don't know if you're going to get to have that opportunity. It's not looking like we're going to have that opportunity, actually.

24:29 ↗

For me, I'm excited to get back in the season, get back around the guys, and try to find the best way to build a great culture and go out there win football games and make a lot of people happy. And I think that's what our mindset is going into this season is we're going to try to find a way to do it again so we can have that celebration tour that we didn't get this last year.

24:49 ↗

Yeah, you have any reason to have a chip on the shoulder. Keep that up. No, that's actually a really interesting insight. This is Jason, by the way. Look, we're a fantasy football show, and fantasy football is kind of taken over the world in some respects. We know several.

25:06 ↗

Players who are longtime listeners of this show love fantasy. We've heard players who view fantasy football more negatively. What are your guys' views on fantasy football in the NFL? Are you guys fans of it yourself, or do you think it adds or takes away from the game? Troy, why don't you answer that first? So I guess maybe my perspective may be a little different in the sense that I wasn't a big fan of watching the game, more a fan of playing the game.

25:34 ↗

of catching, of tackling, and those sort of things, and wasn't necessarily infatuated with the NFL, nor do I know enough about teams and general managers and those sort of things that even, I guess, maybe dip my toe into it. So I am more of maybe a pure football player and not necessarily a football fan or follow to any in that respect. So it may be more unfair to ask me that question.

26:02 ↗

So sorry. Yeah, I would say my perspective. I mean, growing up, I did fantasy football with my dad, so I understand the people's love for fantasy football and doing all the different leagues. And I know my buddies still do leagues and stuff that I played in when I was in college and high school and doing stuff like that. But I think as long as you keep it fun and keep it lighthearted and you're just watching the game and it helps you learn more and more players, it's cool.

26:29 ↗

It's just the certain people that take it way too serious and they're like messaging players. I'm like, dude, like these guys, not just me, but I'm like, these guys are playing their hardest every week. I promise you. They're trying to do whatever they can to win as well. And so the people that do it in the right spirit, I think it's an awesome thing. It's just the little group that kind of annoys some players. Sure. I promise you. I think what it.

26:51 ↗

I'm sorry. I think what it brought out, too, is a lot of different fans as well. You know, there's a lot of women fans that have come out through fantasy sports, a lot of younger fans that come out through fantasy sports. So the conversation for me has actually been more intriguing in the sense that I'm talking to a more diverse set of people about the game. And that, to me, is somebody who truly loves the game in that way is pretty awesome. Yeah, we here as a show, we really try to be good ambassadors.

27:20 ↗

for the sport. We want to be inclusive. I became a fan of football due to fantasy football a long, long time ago. But, you know, it's kind of like you said, it's getting more people into the sport. So on a team level, Patrick, you know, this last draft, Andy Reid and Brett Veach, they were both quoted saying that, you know, they reached out to you to see who you wanted the chiefs to draft this year, which I think is a good team management. Veach even said he texted you, you know, without thinking, who do you want? And you said Clyde.
