behind, yes. He did say, you know, in standard leagues. And in standard leagues, that's where DeAndre Hopkins doesn't have the extreme value from all of his targets and receptions. But the reality is, look, Hopkins is great. But we saw two tails last year between the Texans as a team. You saw them have the worst defense in the league to start the year.

And oh my goodness was D'Andre Hopkins on fire. And then to finish the year, you saw them with like the best defense in the league. And you have to keep in mind that affects your offense. I expect Houston to come through this year with a great defense again. And in those final weeks, you know, from week 12 to 17. DeAndre Hopkins in a standard league was the 22nd.

ranked wide receiver. That kind of shocked me when I looked that up. Now, I'm not saying DeAndre Hopkins is 22nd. I'm just saying to say that he's, you know, it's a travesty or a sham to say, you know, he's number nine and standard. Look, that's just how I see it playing out. He's five in our PPR rankings. He's six in our half point rankings. It's just we have...

We're not saying we don't love him. We're just saying, you know, you've got to look at things and not get emotionally. Yeah, you were asked to explain the logic behind the ranking. And that, when you look at the second half of the season, the logic behind the ranking is there.

The team became a defensive-oriented team that actually performed up to their value as a defense. They don't want to be a prolific, you know, throw the ball on every down type of offense. They had to because they were down by 5,000 points every game in the beginning of the year. And I'll just throw this out. Year one under Bill O'Brien, they ranked first in rushing attempts. Last year they ranked fifth. So for a team that runs the ball that much, and if you don't have an elite-level quarterback,

it's hard to sustain, you know, like top five wide receiver numbers in that kind of a system if you don't have a Rogers or a Tom Brady throwing you the ball. All right. The Brock Lobster. Yeah. As one who, I don't have many impersonations in my repertoire that I bust out, but I will frequently go B-52s.

Uh, I'm going to change the subject. Thank you. Just just saying. You did a Australian accent on the patron mailbag show that I thought was quite good. I thank you. I was very impressed. Not because you began with a good accent, but because you sustained it. Yes, I was really impressive as well. Thank you, fellas. Thank you. I was, I practiced. So well done. The B-52s in that. You're like, hey, Mike, you're going to research for those show notes? I'm like, yeah, sure. After I practiced my Australian accent. Yeah, good job. Tom and Syracuse, I'm a believer in drafting a quarterback in later rounds, but I have seen steals with Rogers and Newton falling to the fifth and sixth. At that point, it is very hard to pass them up. I would normally wait for a Roma or Eli in round 11 or 10. Would you pass on Rogers and Newton at this value?

or take one and make tight end a later priority. His league specifically is a four point per touchdown passing league. I would not pass on Aaron Rogers. No way. Or Newton in a four point league. I would pass on Newton in the fifth. I still think Newton is going to be good, but I don't expect him to, I mean, his efficiency last year was outrageous. But in a four point league, his rushing is so valuable.

that I think both of them would be steals in the fifth. Yeah, I think he's going to be okay. I would just rather grab, I mean, I just brought up all the fifth round running backs that I really like. I would rather grab one of them and, you know, have a Drew Breeze. So you draft Matt Forte in the fifth round over Camden? Yes, for sure. Because I would not be in a four point. I'm fine with. But if Aaron Rogers is in the fifth, I'm going to grab him every time. Yeah, I will too. All right, Bruner in Switzerland.

Bonjour. Hey guys, great fan of the show and proud owner of a hashtag Foot Clan title. All right. I wanted to ask you this in preparation of the coming draft. At what point in the draft do you target defenses and kickers? Is it worth going, is it worth it to go earlier in the draft for a Denver defense or something? No. No, turnover on defenses year to year is pretty high in terms of who performs well.

Good example would be everybody and their mother drafted the Houston Texans early last year as a top-notch defense, and you probably dropped them by week three or four. You definitely dropped them. They were putting up huge negative numbers. Yeah, the people that they benefited were the people that signed them off of waivers in week seven. You know, the other example is if you don't draft, for example, Gaskowski, how do you pick a kicker that you want to stream? Sure. I'll just say, we...

I'm fine maybe reaching around early if you want for Gaskowski. That's fine with me, but I would not go any earlier than that. As far as my kicker strategy of who do I want, it depends on your scoring format. If you get the bonus points for the longer field goal kicks, successful field goal kicks, I like a guy like a Justin Tucker who can boot it from 50. Other than that, I try to get a guy who plays predominantly...

either for a good offense or indoors. I still buy into that. An indoor kicker will be better. Yeah, I definitely look for good offenses. That's what matters to me. I look and I say, who's the best offense? And sometimes people are like, well, then they're going to score and you only get an extra point. But the best offenses, I mean, look at Guskowski, right? I mean, he's on the Patriots. They're a great offense. You want a guy that's going to be on a team that's moving the ball, giving them opportunities. That's the main thing.
