Fantasy Football 2018 - Free Agent Frenzy!

Travis Kelsey, Kareem Hunt and company with Pat Mahomes. And let's start here with what this means for this offense. And talk about what you really see the ceiling is for Watkins. Is there volume there and what do you think about Pat Mahomes now? Yeah, this is great news for the offense and fantastic news for Pat.

Mahomes. I mean, you've got a big, strong-armed quarterback who can air it out to a guy like Sammy. It's a perfect, perfect matchup. I get why they made the signing. For fantasy, however, it really does, you know, muddy the water. In order for Sammy Watkins to have a, let's say, top, you know, 15, top 20 type of year, he's going to need more than 100 targets.

Like that's just kind of statistically what people have to have. And I'm not sure that that comes. He had his big year, his sophomore year with Buffalo, he only had 96 targets. He was 60 receptions about 1,050 yards, 9 touchdowns. Yeah. So his touchdown rate was fantastic. Eight last year on 70 targets. Look, I love Sammy. I'm the resident Sammy believer. I really like him. But I don't think that he's going to be it with Tyreek Hill there.

with, you know, Hunt involved in the passing game, with Kelsey, I believe that he will end up being at best a wide receiver two, and he's going to be on that cusp for me and that wide receiver two, three. Just for those wanting kind of the landscape of the chief's passing game last year, obviously new quarterback, Kelsey led the way total receptions. He had 83 receptions. Tyreek had 75, right? Big play guy over 1,100 yards.

The next highest was Albert Wilson, who they just lost to Miami. Miami signed Albert Wilson. He was 42 receptions. I'm sorry. And Kareem was 53, so right above Albert Wilson. But the next wide receiver was 42. If you wanted to make the argument that there will be enough to go around, I think you can make that argument. Yes. Especially with a guy like Andy Reid who gets preoccupied with a big arm in the passing game.

depending on, you know, they lost Marcus Peters. They lost some of their defensive pieces. The defense was talked about having a quarterback on a team that needs to throw the ball and play from behind occasionally. You said their devens will struggle, Mike. I do like Pat Mahomes. Like if I'm in a Dynasty League, you're not going to be, I don't think you can be able to get him cheaper. No. No. So go get him. That's what I'm saying. You're saying pay up? I'm saying, well, not pay up. I don't have. Just go get Pat Mahomes. I think he's already going to be expensive.

In the eyes of the person who drafted Pat Mahomes, knowing they would have to wait an entire year, and then to have the off-season go, it could not have gone better for Mahomes. That's true, but we still haven't seen it. There's no fantasy evidence, right? In the evidence room to say that he's worthy of being great. Agreed. That's the vein you go to trade him for. And that's when you go and trade a Cam Newton. You're telling me that you can't take Cam Newton.

and approach to Pat Mahomes owner and get more than Pat Mahomes for him? You would trade Newton in a package? I would trade Newton for Mahomes and something. That's the trade I'm looking for. I would do that in a heartbeat in a Dynasty League. Because of my confidence in Mahomes' performance then. Yeah, and usually you have, you know, more than one quarterback. Cam is not going to be your only quarterback there. So if you've got, you know, Cam and even like a Blake Bortle. Alex Smith. Alex Smith or Pat Mahomes. I would.

I would rather go after Pat Mahomes. Was that what I rather have? Yeah, who would you rather have? Oh, I'd much rather have Patrick Mahomes. I'm just shocked at the Cam Newton. So you'd rather have Cam Newton. Then Patrick Mahomes, yes. There you go. That's why me and you would be good trade partners. Offer you, Cam, you can be patent something. Yeah. All right. So I also think because of the weapons there, Kareem Hunt, the 53 receptions, do you think he matches over under 50? Over. Over.

Yeah, I'll take the over. I think if you had 53 last year, I'm going to put him right about the same. Okay. All right. More big news. Alan Robinson. Welcome to Chicago, three years, $42 million deal. He joins a couple of other news signings. Taylor Gabriel. Bears doing work. Four years, $26 million deal. Field stretcher in Chicago, they needed wide receiver help. Trey Burton. Trey Boo Boo. Trey Boo Boo has now fulfilled his nickname.

Like now... He's gone to the bears. Now those of you looking at us strangely... Jupiter has aligned with Mars. His Trey Boo Boo Boo nickname now is of fulfillment. Here's the thing about the signing. If they use him... Four years, 32 million. If they use him as the move tight end, the same exact way that Matt Nagy used Travis Kelsey...

This is such a good place for Trey Burton to end up. The only issue here, you could also argue this is a great place for Alan Robinson to end up because he's going to have the ability to have the complete market share. This is not going to be a run, run, run first team the way that we've seen the Chicago Bears the last few years. But everything, 100% of the value here comes down to a giant question mark that I am, I lean on the, on the.

negative side and that's Mitchell Trubisky. Yeah. I'm not convinced and I know Andy you like Mitch. I'm not convinced that nobody beats him. I am not convinced that he's a good enough quarterback to succeed in the NFL. I'm not convinced anybody can be convinced of anything about Mitch. Yeah. So I don't think that there's enough. I'm not, I'm not willing to go out onto the deep. I'm not willing to go out onto the plank, you know, walk the plank with Mitch.

I'm also not willing to say that I mean, there were games last year where, what, they won a game where he had six completions? I mean, the problem was John Fox didn't seem like he had any faith in Mitch Trubisky. John Fox was like a mold growing on every player of that offense. And it just weighed them down. And look, I understand why I've already started seeing people tweet about this year's Rams. Here they come. Mitch Trubisky is the golf. And Alan Robinson is now, you know, it's like.

Sammy or Woods coming in and you've Trig Cohen out of the back field with Jordan Howard and now Burton, one of the most athletic tight ends. How are they going to use him? I get all that. Now we'll know. At least now we'll know with Mitch Trubisky. So do I think he's a fantasy option out of the gate? Probably not, but this is a good, this is going to be an okay team. He could be. And if the Chicago offense fails, spending this much money and loading up on.

such a wealth of offensive weapons, it's Mr. Biskey's fault if the Chicago offense fails this year. Trey Burton, where do you put him in the initial ranks? Is he a tied in one potential guy? Yes. Potential, sure, but he will not be in my top 12. That's a better question. Will he be in your top 12? He will not be in my top 12. I'm trying to pull up some names here real quick because that's the, I want to put some names to this. Okay.

And he actually falls in ADP to a much more manageable position. Dionne Lewis has 329 carries in his entire career.

And it's got to be a really tall ladder for him. Even though it's a short ceiling. It's a short ceiling tall ladder. You were hoping for those 12 foot ceilings. And it's like, oh, these are nine feet. You said it. I mean, lost in the hopefulness, you said it. You said they're going to split. Yeah, it'll be a 50-50 split. I never thought he was going to be the only guy in town. See, this is. You would have liked somebody else than Dionne Lewis, no doubt. If you're the, if you're the Derek Henry owner, you're probably helping for. Danny Woodhead. Yeah.
