WR Rankings: 11-20 + Latest Camp Hype, Yikes-o-potamus - Fantasy Football Podcast for 8/10

So in the last three years, we have 15. You have them the highest. I want to put that out there. You have them almost in your top 12 at 13, and I don't mind it. So in that time, since DJ Moore has been in the league, we have 15 wide receivers who are over 3,000 yards. The average touchdowns in that time would be 22 touchdowns. And that's averaging everybody, the lows and the highs. But DJ Moore is by far the lowest. 10 touchdowns.

absurd to have the 11th most receiving yards since entering the league, third in yards per reception. So this is not a slot-wide receiver just, you know, a supreme athlete. Yes, it doesn't make sense for him to be that low. It's, and it could just be the way things go, but I'm not, I'm betting for math and DJ Moore the player. The thing that sucks about the situation with DJ Moore is that you, you genuinely don't know if he had a.

quarterback upgrade or downgrade. That's a genuine question for the team. And that part sucks because it's easy now to say, oh boy, Sam Donald represents a difference from Bridgewater. Oh, he's different. But it could be worse. Like that could really be the case. You could have a worse thrower of the football on that team.

Yeah, no, I mean, that's the honest truth when prognosticating about the Panthers. The most difficult aspect is Sam Donald because we've well established. I really like Robbie Anderson. That takes nothing away from DJ Moore for me. All the arguments of the volume and the targets and all of that for Robbie minus the touchdowns exist for DJ Moore. He's the younger guy. He's the more athletic guy. The bigger play, bigger, you know.

yards per reception. So I like DJ Moore. And I'm not as concerned, like the Christian McCaffrey 115 reception. I'm not outlandishly concerned over that in the sense that, you know, they didn't have Robbie Anderson that year is a different year. So then are you projecting him not to catch that many passes? Right. Yeah. Well, if you look at like the three games he played last year, which super small sample, but three games, he was more of like 100 target.

player versus 145 targets from the year prior with a different coaching staff, different regime, and no Robbie. And Terrace Marshall Jr., though we like the player, he won't command the same amount of the offense that Curtis Samuel did. Let me make this prediction then, because I don't know who it is. You're going to be bummed out about like three players on Carolina. I think that that has to happen. There's not enough. Or?

Or you're going to be in love with Sam Darnold. Oh, what a wacky world that would be. I mean, Terrace Marshall's worth a mention. Ian Thomas had 20 catches. They paid Dan Arnold to come in and catch more than 20 passes from the tight end position. 25. And then, no, he'll catch 40 plus. And then. 26. I will go to 26. And then Christian McCaffrey is a massively different. I mean, no matter what you say about where the volume is.

you're bringing the number one receiver back. So if you had pretended that you have a wide receiver coming back, that's the number one, how does that trickle down the list? So we'll see. I mean, if you don't think that McCaffrey is going to bring that level of pass catching to the offense, then you should feel fine putting Cook or Camara ahead of him in your rankings. No, no, I feel fine with Christian McCaffrey there, but I also, I'm betting on DJ Moore.

We are going to close it out with Robert Woods and Cooper Cup at 19 and 20. The tandem, the two main receiving weapons for the Los Angeles Rams. Robert Woods at 19. Last year was 90 for 936 and 6. I mean, the draft position right now is wide receiver 18 at 409. Cooper Cups going around later. So I prefer Cooper Cup.

Mind you, Jason mentioned on the show yesterday that generally the first guy that fantasy players takes or end up taking works out better. Are you that way with these two guys? Yeah. So that research was more in the middle round guys versus the early round players. So I'm not sure how that fairs when you're talking about two guys that are both pretty high draft picks. I think middle rounds, fourth and fifth.

Yeah, I think the study was sixth and on. Yeah, it was later. Gotcha. But when I look at those two guys, I do prefer right now the value on Cup because I have them so similar in my rankings. You're going to see more scrambling out of Matthew Stafford for sure because you saw none from Goth. And in those broken plays.

Cup is so good at finding the hole in his own and just getting open down the field. I think he'll have some longer targets and be a benefactor of that. Yeah, I'm going to take the guy who finished as the wide receiver four two years ago. So that ceiling plus a free round in fantasy dress. Yeah, I was going to say for the record, that was Cooper Cup. Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm going with. Just outside the top 20 for us, Kenny Gallaudet at 21, Deante Johnson at 22, feeling at 23.
