But the thing is, is if you could see those minefields, hop into the time machine, pull out the almanac, see who's going to let you down. There was a lot of excitement around Alex Collins, the way he finished, the way his second half was the year before. He had this great yards per carry. Was it misleading? 4.6 yards per carry.

Because people are very excited, very excited about this running back, who was, quite frankly, he turned into a championship running back. If you picked him up at the right time, he literally carried you. You jumped on his shoulders. You benched the rest of your team, and you played this guy, and you still managed to win because over the final four games, he had...

585 rushing yards. It's funny to hear it out loud. Yeah. And of course, I'm talking about Derek Henry of the Tennessee Titans. Look, judging by the response, people are not too happy. I'm saying this. Yeah, they all kept him. Yes. Look, remember when I said he had 585 rushing yards in the final four games? In the season, he had 1,059 yards. That means that...

There was a certain percentile of his rushing yards that came in those final four games. Normally I'm really happy about that, but over half of your rushing yards in four games, that's a little bit of suspect things going on. And look, here's the problem. Here's the problem. 18 targets on the year.

can't rely on running backs who are not getting targets to draft them that high. In high stakes leagues, people are spending a lot of money to play. They are drafting Derek Henry above Aaron Jones, Marlon Mack, Devonta Freeman, Carry On Johnson. Boo. This is absolutely insane to me. Because look, it wasn't, this was not Derek Henry's first. I'm a sucker, man. I'm a sucker. I got carry on bombs. I've got it. It's like one button. I just have to push it. I'm in this heated rant. It's tough, man. Sorry. Okay, but here's the deal. Do you want me to hit the Derek Henry button? Yes, please. Thank you. That's such a lie, though. Because your story is why I didn't recommend him in the two other weeks. He was incredible. So I feel like I'm a fool.

But this was not Derek Henry's first year in the league. We have seen plenty of Derek Henry. In fact, it was not the first time this season that the Tennessee Titans game plan was give Derek Henry the ball. In weeks two and three, he carried the ball 18 times per game, and it didn't work out. Look, they think, they think that they have it all figured out.

And we're going to give Derek Henry the ball. He's going to rip off 99-yard touchdowns every single week. It's going to be fantastic. Marcus Mariotta doesn't need to do a thing. And fantasy drafters are buying in. And Derek Henry will be this year's Alex Collins, and people are going to be very upset they drafted him. Oh, it's a bold take, Mike. See, I thought you were going to tell me in high-stakes leagues they were smart in taking him after those guys. No. You're saying everybody's a fool but you. Yes. Okay.

Got it. I got a time machine. I agree with the lack of pass catching. But I do think he's going to succeed on the ground this year. So I'm not as anti- You're on an island, apparently. Yeah. All right. I'm going to bring up Philip Lindsay's name. And first I want you to know, like, he has a giant undrafted tattoo on his body. Yeah. Like, I love this guy.

Last year, I feel like this is the least biased take I could ever have because last year I picked him up everywhere. I signed him when the chance of Roy's Freeman were coming from everyone else. I picked him up before the season began in one of our leagues. Signed him on the waivers in another league. Wrote him to a lot of success except for in the last three weeks. And the thing is, is I absolutely adore what he did. It's an amazing story. But there are similarities between the Alex Collins story and the Philip Lindsay story.

They were both undrafted free agents. Collins was a fifth round pick. I mean, he got cut immediately, so that's pretty close. Pretty close. But last year, you're talking about 306 is where Collins went. This year, I'm surprised. People must be listening to this show. He's 407 now. That's where Philip Lindsay is. So he is starting to trickle down draft boards a little bit. And I don't have any desire to doubt Philip Lindsay, but things went so very, very right for him last year.

But Royce Freeman was banged up all of last year. Philip Lindsay, he's a platter who faced a lot of eight-man fronts. That's the truth. More than anybody in football. And he still ran over for a carry. So the thing is, you got a new head coach, you got a new quarterback, you got a new offensive system, you injured yourself at the end of the year. You did slow down. Two of the last three games, he used two-point-something to carry. So I just think that with the struggle to end the season,

The fact that I do believe in the talent and ability of Royce Friedman, which I know you do, Mike. I love him. He's a talented player. It doesn't take much. Think about it. If you lose three carries a game, over the course of the season, you're going from being a guy that maybe he was going to be a 200, 220 carry guy. You lose 45 carries. Do you want Philip Lindsay at 160, 170, 180 carries? No. Is that going to do? You do. I mean, you want him, but you might not want him as fourth round draft capital is my point. So I think there's some traps there.

People don't like it, but I think it's an honest thing. Yeah, I mean, Alex Collins had 200 carries on the season. Nobody was happy with that. That's true. Yeah, we were looking at that today. Look, my Alex Collins comp for this year is... Oh, I'm so surprised. I'm so surprised. It is the same exact situation with one exception of capital. It's in the same backfield. It's Mark Ingraham. Mark Ingram replaced... This is shocking. Yeah, you can be shocked, but here's what we know.

Mark Ingram has replaced Alex Collins in that same system, the same coach, the same guys behind him, Gus Edwards. There's a lot of Justice Hill fans here today. They went and they drafted Justice Hill. You have Mark Ingram. Look, Justice Hill's family is in the audience apparently. Yeah, big Justice Hill fans around here. My goodness.

So here's the thing. So, like, you know, when I was researching this, I took a look at what's being said to marking room. What's the expectation for beat writers? All of that. And, you know, I found this article where Gus Edwards was talking about. He had talked to the coaches before. He knew they were going to go out and find a veteran-free agent to help share the load with Gus. And they were going to basically have a one-two punch.

And so what did they do? They went out and they signed a back who his whole career has been part of a one-two punch. This is not a guy who's going to just carry the load and come in and be like, well, the Baltimore Ravens run the ball so much. We're just going to give him the ball all the time. I would rather have Mark Ingram and a timeshare for the Saints than for the Ravens. Look, I know the Ravens want to run a lot, but, you know.

the touchdowns aren't going to be there for the Ravens like they were for the Saints. Most people were disappointed with Mark Ingram last year. He had some good games, had some bad games. I think right now Mark Ingraham's going at the back of the third round. That is way too high. You've still got Gus Edwards on that team. What did Gus Edwards do? Last year, once Lamar Jackson took over?

He was a beast. He was on a 16-game pace of 1,500 rushing yards. They're not just going to be like, all right, little Merkin Robs here. Sit down, please. Like, the guy is a good running back. If the guy making the decisions talks like that, I want in on that organization. Yeah, so, I mean, to me, I just think his draft. Take a seat. I'd be like, sure. That's cool. Whatever you say. It's me, David Gittleman. So.

I mean, to me, it's just, it's the same situation with the same players behind him. I think we'll be disappointed in the draft capital. I like, I like Mark Ingram. It's weird. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm not around the right Mark Ingram fan circles. But it's shocking to me, he's going where he's going, because I haven't heard people excited about it. This is a team that runs the football at time, but nobody's like, the ceiling for Mark Ingram, everybody's like, yeah, he's not that high.

Right. I don't know why he's back of the third. And then Justice Hill. A lot of people like Justice Hill. And here's the thing that worries me a bit about Mark Ingram. Like I said for Derek Henry, I want running backs who will also catch the ball. So you talk about if he's sharing time with Gus Edwards, and yes, to his family, Justice Hill is a good running back who's going to catch the ball. He's going to be used as a pass catcher. You raised a nice young man. Yes. Yeah, good work, everybody. All right. We're stepping out of the time machine. We're hit.

I like a lot of late wide receivers, and I find myself not liking very many late running backs. So does that entice you to draft running back somewhat early, or what's your guys' approach? I mean, I do want to put myself in a position to where...

You know, what I believe about those guys, I want to take them. I want to put, it's hard to find running backs, right? Yeah, I mean, the issue here is like, okay, there's plenty of wide receivers you like at the back of the draft, and there's probably not a lot of running backs you like. I mean, you get to that 10th round, and you're running back options. Oh, my gosh, 10th round, your seventh round, you're in trouble. You're going, man, do I want Jordan Howard? Look, in the 10th round, you're deciding between Curtis Samuel.
