that seemed to take about one second each to march the field, seeing the defense. Tony Romo came out and validated Jason's pick here as the start of the week and just shredded the Giants when that game should have been over. So pretty crazy. And real quick, at the beginning of the game, the running game from Dallas looked pretty strong. But remember, this is the Giants. They were not a good running defense last year. They appeared to be on that same track this year. So the real test will be when they actually play a stout.

I also want to mention this. Some amazing tweets came in with people's fan cave setups, the TV setups and those type of things. Because we were talking about how many TVs we'd like. I want to tell you about it. You heard it at the beginning of the show. H.H. Gregg is throwing an ultimate fan cave sweepstakes for the month of September. You can enter to win the grand prize of a $5,000 H.H. Greg gift card to help build your ultimate fan cave. Who would you draft?
for your ultimate fan cave. What's your number one pick, Mike? Television. Of course. Jason? It's got to be the television. Got to be that. Ultra HD 4K. Yes. And then it's all food for you after that. Right? Oreos. $5,000 of food. This is great, though. You go to hH gregg.com slash...
fan dash cave that's hgragg.com slash fan dash cave to enter they've got weekly five hundred dollar gift card prizes they've got footballs autographed by the commissioner of the ultimate fan cave sweepstakes which is
William the refrigerator Perry, as you remember, and season tickets, t-shirts designed by fresh-brewd teas. It's a great promotion. So go there right now, the ultimate fan cave sweepstakes. It's running all through the month of September, h-hgreg.com slash fan cave. All right, guys, let's go ahead and talk about some of the players that stood out this week and some of the ones that stood out in the wrong ways. This week's fantasy stud muffins.
All right, there were plenty of them. This week's fantasy stud muffins. I'm very excited to say several were in our starts of the week, as well as guys we've talked about during the off season. I much prefer tweets saying, I won this week because I drafted Tyler Eifford instead of ones that say, Oof. Eifford. Let's start right there. All right, let's do it.
My goodness, it wasn't just Eifford. There was a lot of tight ends that exploded. Is that why you drafted Tyler Eifford that high in the NFL draft? Yeah. Because of that kind of potential. First round pick, Tyler Eifert was clearly the number two option behind A.J. Green. And even though he was the number two option, he was the number one fantasy option for the Cincinnati Bengals. You have to factor in the Oakland's defense isn't the strongest right now.
But Eifford, man, do touchdowns over 100 yards? You can't just say it's the Oakland defense, though. Some of those catches. I mean, there was a pass where the defender was all over him, and he just went up and grabbed it. One of his touchdowns. Yeah, one of his touchdowns. It was not just a bad defense. Eifer is legit. Well, and the reality is that game was over. Yeah. Really quickly, too. So the passing game didn't have to do a lot in the second half. So Eifert was a big.
Fantasy stud muffin for the week. So I have to mention then Travis Kelsey in the same breath as a lot of fantasy tight ends. This was like the week of the tight end. Jason Witten had a huge week. Eric Eberon had a touchdown. Jordan Reed had a really good week. Sifarian Jenkins. So Kelsey, though, Zeus came out. Two touchdowns put up, I think it was what, two for 62 and two touchdowns in the first quarter?
Yeah, huge output right away. Not to mention an air guitar while he ran down the sideline and then punched the football. That was awesome. One of the best celebrations I've ever seen. Very, very impressive. Okay, let's go ahead and talk about some fantasy-wide receivers that stood out this week. Who's the guy that jumped off the page to you? Keenan Allen, man. Yeah, that would be the one. 15 receptions, 16 yards on 17 targets. He was the man.
And that's the Allen we remember from his rookie year where he had the humongous sophomore slump. He was a very interesting guy to know how to rank this year because last year was considered such a down year. But man, the targets were through the roof, especially against Detroit who last year was a great passing defense. Maybe things have come down this year.
Keenan Allen, man, was spectacular. Watching that game, I think both defenses are legitimate going forward, and Keenan Allen looked good, not because of the defense, but in spite of the defense. And he was just, he was open. It wasn't forcing targets to Keenan Allen. Why are you no touchdown? You get, you get the ball 15 times. Come on, Keenan. We expect more. Yeah, that game was an interesting one because it seemed like Detroit was going to run away with it early. They made some plays on defense, but, you know, very much like Romo.
Rivers is just kind of steady, steady guy, and went out and won the game. He just consistently picked up first downs. Keenan Allen was a big part of that. Would you rather own Keenan Allen right now or DeAndre Hopkins?
Hopkins. Hopkins was... Despite the offense being... I mean, Hopkins made his... It was kind of an opposite situation, right? Keenan put up huge yards and no touchdowns. Hopkins, he had a good game yardage-wise, target-wise, obviously. He was like 9 for 90-something, but... But two touchdowns for Hopkins, too. Hopkins had the better fantasy week. Yes. And you saw his route running is just...
Fantastic. He runs, the quarterback throws to a spot, and he grabs it. Which quarterback though? That's the thing. It happened with both, so I think you're fine moving forward. I thought you were asking, would I rather have Rivers with the Texans quarterback? No. Why is this a question? No, not a question. Yeah, that's another, with the Arian Foster News coming out this week, that he could be back sooner than expected again. You know, who knows, really? I mean, what was it? Lock and Forre came out?
and said week two maybe. Lock and four said week three at the worst. But then Bill O'Brien came out and said no. That's all Bill O'Brien. They asked him, is Foster? Could he be back next week? No. I'm not listening to a head coach talking about injuries. Fair enough. Yeah, that would be a nice surprise to spring on your opposition, huh? So let's talk about some running backs then, guys. Oh, here it comes. All right. Choochoo! Woo!
It doesn't get much better than that for a week one debut. There's nothing like a million chuchos on your Twitter. Of Amir Abdullah. What happened the first time Amir Abdullah got a running back carry in the NFL? I believe he went for a hose down. All right. I'm going to give you your time. I mean, just put on the ribbon. Put on the jersey.
Amir Abdullah is electric, my friends. He made... He's going to tear his own ACL. I'm going to tell you right now. Those cuts? No, he's a rubber band man. He's good to go. He can stretch. But on that first run, it was 22 yards, I believe. He made that safety. Look...
Ridiculous. It was like a basketball player when he crosses a guy over. That's what it reminded me of. It's like one of those old Tim Hardaway. Yeah, if you watch the run from behind, he intentionally angles right just to cross him over left. I mean, it was impressive. I, you know, people have been asking on Twitter all the time, how am I going to react to the Abdullah above Bell fantasy production this week? I'm going to react fine. I mean...
Clearly, Abdullah was involved, but from a perspective of watching, I watched every snap of that entire game. From a pure touches perspective, it was very close. Abdullah had three more touches. There was no goal line carries available for Joy. It's his first game back. If I'm choosing somebody to own the rest of the year, it's close. It's very close. It's now close. Okay. Because Abdullah is targeted in the passing game, and he needs one play. Now, he's involved in special teams, too. He can make a play on special teams. I was going to say the stat line.
I don't have it exactly right in front of me, but of his combined rushing, catching, and return yards had not been done in about 50 years. If you get return yards in a league, I'm here, Abdullah is very valuable. Listen, people need to understand this, though, because this is what happens in fantasy football in week one. There were 15 carries for the entire Detroit Lions offense, okay? 15. That is not a lot of carries, and they were evenly distributed between Abdullah and Joach.
Don't make too much out of week one in the sense that I just saw somebody ask me. I'm being offered CJ Anderson for Abdullah now because Abdullah had some flashy plays. I just think that that could be a mistake. I said, take it. Take the deal. Get CJ. It's still week one. So the one thing. The one thing I want is if anyone has.
video editing skills. I want the and one announcer. I don't know if you guys are familiar with the and one. I want him cut into that. He's like, oh, baby. Oh, baby. And they lost. They lost the game. Who cares? Yeah, well, Abdul did not lose your way there. All right, some other standout running backs. Chris Ivory. Your start of the week. Yes, Chris Ivory. Two touchdowns could have had three. He was certainly, and he didn't even.
Pick up a carry, I think, in the fourth quarter that game was put away. But Chris Ivory performed very, very well, almost at 100 yards rushing, two touchdowns. Matt Forte made us look... He's a young buck, apparently. He was... His usage was high. Yeah, he was very high. And I'm not saying, oh, this is why I was wrong. His usage looked great. Yep. And Adam Gaze looked like he knew how to use Matt Forte. So... Yep. And Jeffrey did play.
in that game, was targeted a team high 13 times, I think, but just not a, you know, not a consistent performance from that offense. It was for a while. They were sticking, staying with the Packers, but then Cutler threw his classic late game interception. And I'm throwing an audible in here because he's not in our list. Tyrod Taylor, up in Buffalo, looked very good. And obviously Marriota. Yes. But Marriota is, he's kind of the...
the ESPN splash right now. But for... So between the two, who would you rather have, though? Oh, man. That's tough. I think it's one of those things where Tyrae Taylor is going to do what Rex Ryan wants him to do, which is probably going to be throw about one touchdown a week. Maybe. But his legs, man. When he took off with the ball, he looked decisive and he looked...
He looked very Russell Wilson-esque as a smart runner, not just the Michael Vick. I'm going to throw my body out and get destroyed. Did I make my Percy Harvin prediction on the air? You did not, you coward. I told these guys last week, I said, watch Surprise Week, Percy Harvin. And Sammy Watkins didn't catch a pass. It did have. Where was Sammy Watkins? He was... Wait, wait, we're going to... Hold on a second. Poopped in his big boy pants.
