Free-agent updates and the Dynasty Download are seasoned with Spicy Tenders jokes, turning transaction news into a food-and-roster metaphor.
Foot Clan, we have a great show for you today. The Dynasty Download on the show today. Talking some Dynasty and an announcement about another announcement that you're going to want to hear eventually. Enjoy. To the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Welcome in. Tuesday, March 21st, the fantasy footballers. What?
Why did you become Adam Lefco? Is that what that was? A little bit. A little Batman in there, too. Yeah, it felt a little movie trailer almost. Back again. Oh, that's Lefco. Yeah, that's Loveco. Welcome in one and all. Fun show today. Dynasty download. Some more NFL free agent news to talk about mailbag. Announcements. All sorts of goodies on today's episode. Do people ever get excited for announcements, though? Yeah, this one they will. Okay. All right. Yeah, we got some stuff to talk about. But we're announcing the announcement, right, right, right. Yeah. No. Wait, what? That was not me. That was not an authorized horn. Not yet. Redacted. Was that Al? Yes. So quick with those buttons over there. Ever since the deuce cast, they think they can take over? I don't know what we have to do. To get control. To get control. I know we can't control Brooks. He's too well. No.
Too wealthy for that. Don't even try. Yeah, you sound so intimidating. Twitter at the FF Ballers. You can follow us over there. The communities over at Jointhefoot.com. It's a great time to get in over there because you get access to Foot Clan leagues. So if you're forming new leagues, I know Dynasty is a big deal. How big of a deal? Let's talk about it right now. Dynasty Download. I mean, it really is Dynasty season. And so instead of a quick question, we'll jump into the Dynasty download. We have a brand new update to the Dynasty Pass, which is part of the UDK Plus. If you are into Dynasty, if you want to get ready for your upcoming drafts, you want to do the proper research to set the foundation for, you know, we always talk about setting the foundation for your redraft league.
Like your Dynasty Foundation, that lasts a lot longer. You make the wrong decisions with that draft. You're in trouble. So, Mike, a brand new release, a new update to the Dynasty Pass. Absolutely includes a new mock draft, a three-rounder rookie riders and fallers, which is what we're going to talk about a little bit today. All of our startup rankings have been looked at, you know, with the free agent moves. That changes a lot of the landscape. uh the the hitman trade targets that's always in flux so you can check back you know on any given day and there may be a new update over there so you i recommend you go check it out dynasty pass part of the udk plus but today we want to talk about a rookie riser and a rookie faller the riser look this guy was already on fire but he hit the combine
Turns out he's super athletic too. What you saw on the tape did translate, talking about Jackson, Jackson Smith and Jigba, who was playing with Ohio State. He was playing back a couple years ago when he had his monster year was playing with first round pick Chris Alave, first round pick Garrett Wilson. And in that season, outproduced both of them by a wide margin. Was it, was it Garrett Wilson who? Both of them. Both of them have publicly been asked. Who was the best wide receiver on that team? And both of them said JSN was the dude. So, I mean, when you've got two unbelievably talented guys who have proven at the NFL level that they can hang, both being like, that guy is awesome. And then he was better than them statistically counting stats wise at Ohio State. I mean, and then he comes at the Combine.
shows out. Fourth best, 20-yard shuttle time, the 12th best three-cone time. And those, if you're not familiar with those and you just know the 40-yard dash, you've got to look deeper than the 40-yard. The shuttles and the cones, that's how you get the, how you measure burst and those guys who are you going to get off the line quick? How fast can you get up to speed? It's not very often in the NFL that you have. 40 yards to get your full head of steam. So the guys that can get right to it, they often are the quick twitch, really, really shifty. The odds have changed in the NFL draft if you're into betting on that where he is now the odds on favorite to be the number one wide receiver. He looks locked in to be 103 at the latest of your rookie drafts.
I won't fault anybody at all for going 102 for JSN behind Bijon. And we're talking one quarterback leagues, of course, because if you're super flex, that changes. And then, unfortunately, with the rise of JSN, some other guys have fallen off, but Kishon Booty out of LSU, which we have, we've been trying to track down. Is it Bouté? We obviously, is it booty? Like, I mean, we are doing a deep dive. We want to say booty. Yeah, we want to say booty, but to be fair, we have been in... I'd like to say either. I'm fine. Yeah, Boutet is a lot of fun, but we... Bouté is a good time. We have actually been in the Bouti lab, trying to determine the truth, because what we care about here... I've been in the Bouté lab. It's getting it right, and the, you know, announcers have said it both ways, but there was an interview where he said Bouty, and when Bouty says booty. When booty says booty is rocking everywhere, so...
That being said, Kishon Booty is going to be so much fun. It's not going to be so much fun. He's the faller. Yeah, he's the faller. I think his stock is going to become possibly a day three pick. He was supposed to be the next great thing out of LSU. He was one of the highest recruited high school players in the country, came out as a young man dominant and looked like, wow. I mean, you know, if you were in a Devi League, you're playing college fantasy football, Kishon Bouté was booty, whatever, it was supposed to be it. He already lost it. And he is really...
not been great he was injured he had some off the field issues shenanigans and then shows up to the combine incomplete like we don't want to overreact to combine there all of these guys you know you just want to make sure they're an NFL athlete but the extremes the guys that are you know just blowing it you know, off the charts. Wait, are the boats coming back? No. Or that they look like a subpar athlete. Like they are not necessarily an NFL caliber athlete. He ran a 4-540. That was disappointing. But it was disappointing for what he wanted to do. That's 57th percentile. But you can live with that. What you, what's tough is what idiot. You're going to say that so a 29 inch vertical, which for.
some context out there, the average offensive linemen vertical over the last 10 years, 29.4. So the big boys are out jumping this potential wide receiver, which the problem then goes, the NFL sees this. And like we've said, don't double count the combine, but the combine changes how the NFL views players. And if this guy moves down to a day three pick, You know that the probability of him turning into a successful NFL player, successful fantasy football player, that probability goes way, way down. To me, it's like you need to be good at something specifically. If you're not, you said, okay, the 4-5, it doesn't matter. Okay, you're not the burner down the sideline. Okay, then you're going to win in the contest the catches. Oh, no, wait, you're in the second percentile for your vertical. Well, then maybe you're going to win with separation like JSN. No, you're in the 10th percentile in explosiveness where JSN was, you know,
or sorry, 46th in quickness where JS is 99th percentile. Those numbers you just brought up with him as a riser, those are better than almost anybody has done in those drills. You know he's going to be a dominant player in gaining separation and being a best friend of the quarterback. You didn't really see anything evidenced from booty in the combine. And so there's major concerns. And draft capital, you know, we go through this every year. And I mentioned it on a couple shows ago. The dynasty pass comes out. We have guys ranked pre-combine. When you have something like this take place and you know that the draft capital, you know, happened with running backs last year, Isaiah Spiller, one of the biggest movers in terms of rookie rankings because of the fact he didn't participate in the combine and then the draft capital in the end ended up being far too low. You know, things change quickly. So I'm just not sure booty is going to be one of those guys that dynasty players are talking about.
at the end of April. Yeah, and that's so bad for our show. Agreed. Because if Booty can be something special, we can do a lot of great things with that on our show. So, you know, best of luck to show. We already had a Booty Scootin Cam Newton before. Yeah. We know that we can work with that. We can work with Booty. But I hope Booty can work in the NFL right now. It is appearing less likely. So TBD on where he's drafted in the NFL. But Dynasty is fun. Dynasty is amazing because you get to look at prospects. You get to watch their journey from high school to college to the Combine, the draft, all of that. And people want more and more and more. Dynasty information. I think a lot of it has had to do with the platforms being so, they've improved over the years to give you the year-round experience with Dynasty. People have said,
You know, it's one of the things we get a lot of questions about. Are you going to give us more dynasty content? We do the dynasty download. We have Dynasty Week on the show. Jason, a lot of people have been asking, when are the Fantasy Footballers going to put on more Dynasty content? Yeah, and it's like, why don't you, why don't you guys just do a whole other show? Why don't you do a Dynasty show? Do you know how much work that would be to do a whole other, like a Fantasy Footballer's Dynasty podcast? We do like to work, though. I'm a hard worker, Mike. You want to do it? I don't know. Let's see.
Oh, we'll see. We'll see. We're not saying. I thought we weren't announcing the announcement. We're just announcing that there is an announcement coming. We're not saying what it could be. Oh, is that what we're doing? Oh, yeah. I mean, I have no idea. We're teasing the tease. We're teasing the tease. This is live decision making right now. We have no idea whether or not it's on Wednesdays in April. No idea. Okay. But stay tuned for a crazy announcement. It'll be very surprising. Anything to add, Mike? No, I think Jason just ruined everything. The Dynasty Pass can be found at Ultimate DraftKit.com. Let's talk news. Pre-agent frenzy. There's no way we can do that with like everything people ask for though, right? No. Pre-announced the eventual announcement. We can try. Yeah. All right. Hey, the Brandon Cook saga in Houston, it's over. He's been traded to the Cowboys for.
Not a lot. A 2023 fifth and a 2024 six round pick. Good work, Dallas. Almost reaching infinity gauntlet levels with the amount of teams he's played on. One more, Kyle? One more team? Yeah, one more stone and that's it. Okay. So what if Kyle, you put this in here. What stone does he not have? Well. Timestone was the last one that Thanos got. So that's what it would be. He was prepared. Yeah, in his old age. And he'll need a time stone. It would be the time stone. Actually, it was the mine stone because he got it from, you know, vision. He ripped it out. I'm wrong. Oh, okay. Thank you for correcting yourself, though. What a nerd. Yeah, big nerd over there. This is a big addition for Dallas. I couldn't help but roll my eyes in a way because Brandon Cooks is a big play guy and.
I just imagine Mike McCarthy inviting him into the locker room and being like, listen, don't you dare score quickly. Did Brandon Cooks hear the quotes? Just score slowly so my defense can rest. We don't run them a lot. Kellan Moore would have loved you, but you need to. But look, this is a huge addition. Michael Gallup had nothing last year. Maybe he comes back to form. They're surely banking on it. Yeah, I think Michael Gallup is actually, you know, we've put out studies. Matthew Betts this last year put out a great research-based study on ACL tears and how much more valuable a player is two years removed. Michael Gallup should be back to full strength. He's still young enough and explosive enough to get back. And now that he gets to become the three.
and have Brandon Cook slot in as a two and let C.D. Lamb be a stud. This offense looks great. I mean, they were a wide receiver away last year. And they obviously made a, I believe, catastrophic decision to let Amari Cooper go. They're kind of undoing that. Especially now that you had to release Zeke just one year later after you should have had Amari Cooper on your team. Adam Thielen has a new team. Three-year deal. with the Carolina Panthers worth up to $25 million, $14 guaranteed. Good for you, man. I mean, to me, this is, he's 32. Getting that's money. I feel like he, uh, he timed this up right when they traded their, they're really one weapon away and DJ Moore. So this is what we call a trap. That's how I see it. For fantasy. For fantasy purposes.
He's going to be the main guy here. You know, you lose 28% market share from DJ Moore. You have money going on a three-year contract for Adam Thielen, a big name who's done it before. Only Liviscus Chenault and Terrace Marshall to compete with. Yeah, and I, you know, so I think there's, I think there will be enough narrative and enough name recognition to have Adam Thielen be drafted too high on the hope that he will still be a great player. And, you know, one of the things to remember. uh points on that that episode this year was that what's lost isn't found and adam feeling looked like he took a step back this last year he's not getting younger i'm happy he got paid but i don't believe he's going to go and for a bad quarterback or a rookie quarterback be anything special at age 32 he's will he be important to the panthers sure but what's important to the panthers you know eight 900 yards and oh you're describing four touchdowns and
You're describing the AJ Green Arizona season. Yeah. That's what you're describing. That's what he could do in Carolina. AJ Green had 848 yards in Arizona. Three touchdowns. He could do that. That's what I mean. Like he could do that. Sounds exactly like what I would expect him to have. Yeah. 850 and 3. And that will matter to the Panthers and it will not matter for your fantasy football teams. And that's about the same age. I mean, changing teams, twilight of your career. CJ Stratter, Bryce Young is your quarterback. a team that loves to run the football. I think Jason's right on the money there. It'll be 33 in August. So, I mean, congratulations to Mr. Thielen and family for securing the bag. I didn't think he had another decent contract in him. I didn't either. This was, it's good news for an undrafted, you know, player. Yeah, and they're going to, you know, he was integral to that team, part of that organization for so long. But moving on.
The Bears signed Deonta Form into a one-year deal worth $3 million. They also had previously signed Travis Homer. So they have Deontiform and Travis Homer and, of course, Khalil Herbert. The quick question for that is simply, do you feel any different about Khalil Herbert than you did before they brought Deontiform and abort? We knew that they would add somebody because that's just, that would happen, where it becomes, I tweeted it's, I think it's a little messy. I'm still. I will be betting on Coel Herbert, the younger player who showed out last year. Not that Deont de Foreman had a bad season at all, but he was pretty hot and cold. He really liked playing against the Atlanta Falcons. I mean, Kyle, like, how about what, like what percentage of his yardage came in games against the Falcons? It has to be a healthy chunk of his entire season. What's weird is weird is not the right word, but what's interesting is, like,
If you're going to use Khalil Herbert as a thumper, which is what that's what the Chicago Bears need at the running back position because Fields isn't going to check down very many times. Deont de Forman is also a thumper. So it's who gets that job. I still bet on Herbert, but this is a team to watch during the draft. And of course, Herbert will, does, like, does Herbert now go into the dead zone? during fantasy football drafts, which historically those are not great bets. Here's the crazy thing, and I was looking at Deonte Foreman's season last year. Very good. 914 rushing yards, 4.5 a carry, five rushing touchdowns. That is with five games that he had two or fewer carries. Yeah. So he accumulated, like, the pace from when he got more than five carries.
was 1,355 rushing yards. He was awesome. And this is part of why I think... Which I'm being shocked by these numbers right now. I have my bet on the Deont de Foreman side. I don't blame you at all, Mike, for being on the Kalil Herbert side. Usually the younger player is the right one to bet on, especially at the running back position. But what we saw from Foreman last year was... What I loved about him coming out before the Achilles injury that usually ruins running back's rest of career. But he got back. I mean, if you look at the beginning of last year, he was basically sub 10% of snaps for the whole first chunk. And then after that, 118 yards, 118 yards, 130 yards, 113 yards, 165 yards. He had a bunch of monstrous games because he is a very big body back that is fast. And that works in the NFL.
Yeah, BBB that's fast is, you know, a great thing. And so it's a matter of, I believe, Deont de Foreman will have a lot of big, long touchdown runs, and that is just really nice for fantasy. Right now, Herbert is going RB30, Foreman, RB 45. I want to remind people how good the Carolina offensive line was at times last year. Bears were not that, and despite the fact the bears had one of the worst offensive line. lines in football. Herbert was 5.7 an attempt while he was available during the year. So I lean the younger side, but I think they could both kind of put you in a position where you're guessing on draft day. Like it could go down to redraft the day you're making your pick and you might not really know who's going to get more work. Yeah, it is ironic that neither one of them are known as great pass catchers. And you've got...
David Montgomery leaving, who was involved in the passing game. I swear Travis Homer scares me. Sure. Because I mean, Travis Homer can catch the football. In the end, I think the right bet could be to not bet on these guys, you know, and look at what Deontiformen did and say, well, man, that offensive line that Miles Sanders is going to be inheriting was open, you know, they were moving people at the end of the year. And they are bringing back all five starters. That's where. Justin feels will be the leading rusher for that team. But that's where I mean if it feels messy of.
When you have Homer, Tristan Ebner, I believe the other like smaller pass catching type. So it's like the thumper job has to go to somebody. And we'll find out if it's Herbert or Foreman over the off season. Okay. A couple other pieces. Robert Tunyon goes to the Bears one year deal. Kind of annoying. Not for him. For the trip to the Colcomo? Yeah, I mean, just like, look. You need more than one tight end on your team. You do. But not, you don't necessarily need more than one that can make a big play. Robert Tanya can catch the football. You're throwing the ball 22 times a game. You add a DJ more. Like the Colquette window, it's a tighter fit than it used to be. Sure. I mean, the Colquette is like you saw the target share shrink immediately once they trade for DJ Moore. So it was already a.
what's going on with Colquette. Robert Tunya doesn't scare me away from Colquette. But in Dynasty, Colquette is what? I still think he's a top 12. I don't know exactly, I don't remember exactly where I have him, but he's young and he's proven where that's kind of what you have to bet on is. The situation around Colquette can change. He can end up on a different team. Is he in year three, Kyle? Yeah, year three, he's only 24. Okay, so he has two more years under contract. But with these tight ends, I want guys who I know are good pass catchers, should they get into a good situation? Well, it's interesting because it's a couple of pass catchers in Tunyon and come at. And then we talk about the Patriots tight in situation, which, look, a couple years ago, they added, they added two tight ends that muddied the waters for who you can play. Then they just shipped Johnny Smith off. And they said, we just need.
We need more tight-ins. Yeah. We need a guy that's been franchise tag for no reason. We need Mike Gisicki. Look, it was not Ghanu. They thought he was the guy. But no, it is, in fact, Mike Gisickey. And Mike Gisickey, one-year deal, $9 million to the Patriots. And we just got some breaking news. Oh, we did. Share in just a moment. Oh, no. Oh. Mike Gisicki, real quick. Does he have a, does he have a fantasy future in New England? No, probably not. All right. Breaking news. I think you might have, you might have called this one, Jason. Dalton Schultz, one year deal to the Texans. I believe that was my free agent landing spot. I think it was his first spot for that's an incredible prediction. One year deal worth up to nine million, which is what Gassicki just signed. Dude.
What is going on? Like Dalton Schultz, if any of you, you get a new job based on your production. Dalton Schultz deserve to be a higher paid starting tight end in the NFL for him to look around and only get a one year deal. What is happening? There's quite a few one year deals where I'm looking at him and I'm going, boy, I hope I hope you have a year because if you're betting on this season coming up to. secure you a long-term contract. Dalton Schultz now is depending on the Houston Texans offense to do it for him. With a rookie quarterback. I mean, he's a good, he's a good player. Yes. He's, he's a reliable tight end. Yeah. Like, would you rather have Schultz or Gatsiki for up to $9 million? I think we'd all say Schultz. Maybe. For what? For fantasy, for just if I'm a general manager.
Like, I would rather sign Schultz as a player. I think he's really good, you know, finding good spots in the zone. And, you know, if I'm looking for a pass catching guy, as far as for fantasy, man, the Texan situation is one where the quarterback is going to be a real problem. And while you could argue, okay, well, the depth chart says there's no one really to throw the ball to other than Schultz, I don't want a tight end. market share of a rookie quarterback. That's just not exciting at all to me. Is it worth bringing Nico Collins name up at all with the transaction? Brandon Cooks, when he missed last year, the targets were going his way. You got a rookie quarterback coming in. You had coach. That's the problem. If there was an established quarterback coming in, then Nico Collins would be a dynasty player you could kind of get excited about. But you have, you have Nico, you have hopefully the return of matchy.
from that they drafted last year they probably draft another wide receiver they might all right the bills all yeah and bobby trees is there too yeah mechie is pretty interesting because assuming that he is back and healthy and you know he was a highly uh yes drafted player last year and he could be very easily and and maybe even likely here paired with his college quarterback so that would be very interesting Other signings, I'm going to go through him quickly. Isaiah McKenzie, well, he wasn't signed. He was released. The bills, that didn't last. Deonti Hardy, the bill signed him to a two-year deal. He's interesting to me.
