Let’s Talk Trades + Week 9 Buy or Sell, TON of Info - Fantasy Football Podcast for 11/4

And that's just a matter of, you know, what type of league that you're in. And, you know, if you want activity, you've got to go find managers that want activity as well and form a league. And you can always try the overwhelm them approach, you know, the four for one. You know, when you really want someone, we call this the Andy Holloway special from years ago, he would go. And, you know, if he wants someone, he'd find what is a fair trade. These two guys for that guy.

And then he'd be like, I'll throw in this guy, I'll throw on that guy. There's a four for one. And the reality is just not because you're going to go pick up three waiver options. And you might just end up picking up who that team drops. Yeah, you might. And speaking of activity, Andy, walk through your trade that you made yesterday. Sure. Because it was in, it's very interesting because it's the speculation and the decision that you had to make.

And I still don't know which side I'm on. I love it. And I'd love to have you guys break it down for me. I, in our league of record, I'm sitting at five and three. Okay. So context is king, right? Sure. I've lost six players to injury over the last two weeks, Odell Beckham last week, and then Kenny Gallaudet this past week at my once stout wide receiver core. And we don't know what the projection is for Kenny G's injury. We know that they worked out Muhammad Sanu.

He has a hip problem. He's got a hip problem, and I was doing my research. I pinged our injury expert, Matthew Betts. I said, hey, what do you think is going to happen with Kenny G? How long do you think he's out? He said two to four weeks. He says he thinks two to four weeks with a hip flexor strain. And then, you know, I looked at the situation. I've got Jonathan Taylor. What's my confidence level with Jonathan Taylor, Baltimore this week? Is he injured? Is he not injured? Did the injury come after the game in terms of information? Is the Colts by week after the Ravens game?

That is a good question. Double check that. Anyways, the trade in our league was I sent away Jonathan Taylor and Kenny Gulliday. I acquired. Another passer. They passed. I acquired Alan Robinson and Justin Jackson. And so factoring in was when is Austin Eccler going to be back? By my research yesterday, I think probably two to three more games for Justin Jackson.

The playoff schedule for Kenny Gallaudet is not what it is for Alan Robinson. And so that factored in as well as the risk of like, hey, is Kenny Gallaudet going to be declared out? If it's four weeks, do I want to go four weeks without a player like Alan Robinson's schedule where Kenny Galladay in the playoffs? It's Green Bay, Tennessee, Tampa Bay in the championship. And I read earlier the Alan Robinson rest of season schedule. I don't know if you can have a better rest of season schedule for a wide receiver.

And which, by the way, next Wednesday, we will be running our playoff primer segment where we will be fully actively looking at the playoffs. Who's got the best runs? Who's got the worst? Right now, Alan Robinson has not good, great matchups every game rest of the season except for Green Bay in Green Bay in Week 12. Tennessee, that's outstanding. Minnesota, Green Bay, Detroit, Houston, Minnesota, again.

In a dome, kind of important at the end of the year. Yeah, you also need to look at that stuff. And Jacksonville. So, all that being said, you know, Kenny G. and Jonathan Taylor, if they were both healthy, seemed like the better side of that deal. Yeah, I agree. I think this is a trade about health. If Kenny Golliday misses one week and comes back, I believe you lost the trade. If Kenny Golliday misses two or more weeks and you're buying.

matchups right now at five and three where it's tough sledding right now in our specific league. We've got a bunch of five and three teams and we're all vying for a few spots. You can't take losses with Kenny Galladay. So I don't blame you for making the trade. If Kenny Galladay is only out for a week or maybe two, I would prefer to the other side because I still believe in Jonathan Taylor's end of the season. But that could be that could be asinine at this point. He hasn't looked great.

He is currently, quote, nicked up. And, you know, what's to say something changes from here for the rest of the season. That being said, what he has done up until this last game has been very solid. It's been solid. It's been much better than what we project for Justice Jackson. Let me say this because I think it will help listeners as well. When you are angling for trades at this time of year, you know, there are teams that are looking in Dynasty League's Keeper leagues towards the future. And now this trade, the reason.

it was compatible was because the player I traded with, Justin Jackson is a short-term fix. Jonathan Taylor is a potential keeper for this other team. And so for him, it was, hey, you know, I cash in on Justin Jackson right now. I look to the future with my roster. Kenny G is just as viable as, you know, Alan Robinson as a keeper, maybe more, depending on your perspective, although contract year for Kenny Gulliday.

It's an interesting trade, and that's what it is. It's gamble time. I mean, I like Alan Robinson as the most sure part of that entire deal coming to my team. And if you are yourself looking of, man, I want to get some trades done. Reminder for you. Don't just make a shopping list of players. Like, I want to trade for this player. I want to trade for this player.

Great. We all want to trade for really, really good players. You have to go and look at the other teams. You have to actually put in the work. See if your teams are compatible. See if another team has a need that you have an abundance at or maybe they're like where Andy's situation. Maybe someone has an injured player. So you are winning the trade immediately, but longer term it helps them out. So just remember that because we get asked.

trade questions all the time and it's always, well, what can I trade Jonathan Taylor for? It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter who I say because that player might not be available in your league. You got to put in the work. I agree. I agree. And that's really what it comes down to is trying to find that match. Yep. We'll see how it turns out. I'm not rooting for Kenny G to be hurt long term, by the way. I hope he's fine and back and it's better for Stafford and all of that. So we'll see what happens.

Thursday night breakdown. All right, we talked about it a little bit, but let's begin this breakdown. The Packers, five and two, taking on the four and four San Francisco 49ers. Packers are five and a half point favorites. It's a 50 point over under. I know that Brooks is having a rough day because Dante Pettis is no longer a San Francisco 49er. I guess I accidentally left it out of the news. Did you?

Yeah, he accidentally. I'm sorry for your loss. I mean, the sky was the limit until he fumbled this past week. And then that really ended his future. And he was, he was let go. They were trying to trade him and they had no tickers. Yeah, Brooks made some calls. Brooks was trying to get him. Yeah. But the thing is, I'll change you my car. Remember, Brooks. If I make Dante Pet is yours, then he is not mine. And that's the key. But.

But basically, it's funny, there's been multiple players, by the way, that have had, like, one special team snafu and then been released. Like Ted Ginn was let go for similar reasons this exact week. This game, Packers' five and a half point favorites, like I said, 50 point over under. We expect Nick Mullins to start at quarterback. And we know Kevin Coleman's going to be out. We know Debo Samuel's going to be out. We know George Kittle is going to be out.

And so now it is a matter of confidence level for Nick Mullins facing a very good Packers defense in terms of the things that Nick Mullins can affect, right? The quarterback position, they're only giving up 16.9 fantasy points. The wide receiver position, 22.8 per game for the entire wide receiver quarter of opposing team. So is this simpler than I think it is? Is this Brandon Ayuk should be in your lineup and then you should, you know, look at Jamichael Hastie?

Oh, yes, you should. This is a Kyle Shanahan special. I mean, this is the rematch of the playoffs. This is the playoff game where we saw Rahim Mostert rip off the second most rushing yards in a playoff game in NFL history. And what have the Green Bay Packers done to shore up that rush defense? The answer is they drafted Jordan Love and AJ Dillon. That's what they did.

This is what I mean by a Shanahan special. It doesn't matter. It does not matter who the running back is for Kyle Shanahan. They take guys that you have never heard of. They take practice squad people. They take players like Jerich McKinnon, who haven't seen a football field in three seasons. They take Jeff Wilson, their fourth string guy, off of an injury and just say, you're up? Yeah, and that's against teams that are okay against the run. Green Bay is terrible against the run. How bad.

Uh, dead last. Oh, that's bad. Or 30 second best, however you want to look at it. Cup half full. We'll go, we'll go with dead last. All right. Uh, I, I want to play Joe Michael hasty here. And I, Brandon and I, he's going to get carries in this game. He might. He's going to get some opportunities. Uh, you said the Shanahan special. That'll be a piece of the puzzle, too. Yeah, the Carolina Panthers have been horrific against the run. Everybody knows that they've given up a lot. They've,

pretty much been one of, if not the worst team against the run on the season. They have not had their buy week. The Green Bay Packers have had their buy week. And in one fewer game, the Green Bay Packers have given up more fantasy points to the running back position than Carolina. That's how bad Green Bay has been on the ground. And so I agree with Mike. I think that this is a running game for the 49ers. This is Jim Michael Hastie. I want him in.

And I do think that you're going to see some utilization of Jerich McKinnon in the passing game. I don't want to start Derek McKinnon. I do want to start Jim Michael Hasty, but I think you can start Derek McKinnon in a pinch in that flex type of role. Now, of course, it's Thursday night football, which means you're not going to, you're a foot clan here. You're not going to make that mistake of starting him in your flex spot. You're going to move him to your running back. Yeah, I mean, Jared McKinnon is a full bird box this week. I want to strap on the blindfold. If I'm going to put him in my lineup, I don't.

I'm afraid. I'm terrified. I don't look at it. Would you like this in one of my leagues? I believe I am starting at running back one to Michael Hastie and at running back to Jerk McKinnon. So let's go backers. Be bad again. Wow. Yeah. It could work out. It could work out in this one. Brandon Ayuk should be great. He's been a trade target for me. I've been looking at.

how I can pick up Brandon Ayuk in leagues because Debo's gone for a while, even if he's not, you know, Iyuk is a rookie. He's coming along in this offense. And without George Kittle, I trust Shanahan to manufacture opportunities for these players that are shifty, these players that are run threats after the catch. Yeah, Debo will be interesting. They play Green Bay this week. They have a matchup with the Saints next week, and then they have their buy week. The injury projection for Debo was.

Two to three games. So do they just take advantage of the buy week and let him rest to finish it out? For this matchup, I would say the only other big question mark because it's Iuke in the running game. And then the big question mark is, will they have Jordan Reed available? I have not been able to find any reliable source or any piece of information. I've been looking. So I have either of you or Brooks. He was limited on Tuesday.

I don't think you can trust him in the game. And that makes it simple, right? Even if he's active, I don't think you can trust him in his return. If there's a player that is, you know, the back of the football card specialty re-injury. I mean, that's Jordan Reed's M.O. And against tight ends, the Packers are very good. And so you're trusting a lot. You're trusting health. You're trusting Mullins. And I think you should probably just not set your week up with Jordan Reed on Thursday. Yeah, don't play him.

But Jordan Reed is worth a stash here. They're playing the Saints next week, and the Saints have been a target for streaming tight ends. Totally agree. Now, Aaron Rogers, he's in every week's start, right? Yes. We have Devante Adams, and he is in every week's start. Yep. I wanted to bring Devante Adams up earlier when, you were talking about we forget about Michael Thomas. Yeah. And if you replaced Michael Thomas with Devante Adams in those trades.

You know, with those running base, would you trade Cream Hunt for Devante Adams? There's no hesitation. You're like, well, of course I would. And if Michael Thomas comes back and is one of those absolute weekly studs, it just brings clarity when you think, because Devante Adams has just been on fire. Yeah, it's been silly. I mean, what, three touchdown passes for Rogers last week? They all went to Devante Adams. He is always open. So outside of Adams, though,

Yeah, it's just the running back court to discuss. Well, you do need to talk about Robert Tunyon as well. He has been usable in three of the last five weeks. Okay. The matchup is not necessarily great, but just saying, I want to throw out a couple names. So Robert Tunyon or let's go Haydenhurst against the Denver Broncos. Wow, we have breaking news.
