FA Frenzy + Big Questions, Who Am I?

Howard's been more productive and more consistent. I agree, completely. But I, and that's my point. Two months apart is their age, by the way. Yeah, they're about the same age. Howard's been more productive, and I fully believe that if they were both going to get cut, a team would go out there and give...

More money, more resource, more opportunity. I don't agree with that. I think Howard would get more. Yeah. I get the draft capital. More production, less headaches. I don't understand. Yeah, not hurt. No injuries. No headaches. I think more productive. I don't doubt that we have a chance to find out. I would not be surprised if at the end of this year, both guys get to test the open market. If that's true, why aren't you saying Marlon Mac? Well, because I think Marlon Mack, if he got cut, would get very, very little.

Let's presume a world where they're not all getting cut. Well, Howard, definitely Leonard Forenett. Either way. I mean, Howard's hitting the free agent market next year no matter what. Okay. Brad in New York, I have a second pick of a dynasty startup draft. To me, there's a clear 101 in Sequin. Should I be considering drafting a wide receiver or is it smarter in a startup draft like this to grab a running back like Zika or CMC with an early pick? PPR Startup Dynasty. I wouldn't call Seekuan a clear 101.

To me, there are four players. There are four players that I would consider at the 101, and I'm fine with any of them. And if you want to call CMC the 5th, I'm fine with that. To me, there's Zeke, Sequin at Running Back. And there's Hopkins, O'Dell Beckham, at wide receiver. I think O'Dell Beckham is the most talented player who will have the longest career from here on out. But those four, I'd be happy with any of them.

I would go with the wide receiver just because the running backs, you're confident right now that Saquan Barclay is the 101, but the running back turnover happens so quickly. One thing goes wrong for Saquan Barclay or any of these running backs. He does feel safe, though. Yeah, of course. Because of the past catching, because he's a receiver. Right. If he wasn't a receiver.

I would feel less confident. Todd Gurley felt extraordinarily safe going into last season. And then he was awesome. And now if you're on that 6, 7, 8 spot 9, 10 and Gurley's on the board and you're considering pulling the trigger on him, he might be a great, he might be a steal there. But there is definitely a world right now where Todd Gurley's dominant career is over. And now he's a. But that's not necessarily indicative of the running back position. That happens to wide receivers too.

A handful of years ago, Jarvis Landry looked like a better dynasty pickup than he looks like now. Well, I'm speaking more on the injury, the wear and tear to the position. That's what causes such a shorter lifespan for running backs. Oh, Tyreek Hill. Yeah. Well, off the field can hit anybody. But generally speaking, the wide receiver's career, like Hopkins, I think that Hopkins will still be producing at a higher level after like Zeke. Sure. No, that's fair.

Speaking of Hopkins, a signed Houston Texans, DeAndo Hopkins, Jersey. Very nice. Professional. $67.67. Yesterday on pristine auction.com. It's also a professional bid right there. That is impressive. $67.57. Riding around on a segue all the time. You know, I will say this, because I've done a little too much dynasty trading in the last.

two weeks you've been addicted man i've been trading like crazy and here's the thing that i find fascinating we all will stay redraft leagues we're going to talk about running backs a lot right yes we're going to talk a ton about them being the the foundation of your team how how important having that top tier guy is because of all the committees and like that's a hundred percent true in dynasty leagues right to winning the league this year

Right? Yes. In a dynasty league to winning this year, having one of the best running backs is going to do it. Yes. But then you have to weigh in what you're talking about, Mike, where it's like Hopkins careers probably got 10 more years. You know, it's like. It's easier to restock. Maybe not 10. It's easier to replenish your running backs in the rookie draft than it is the wide receivers. It's a hit on them for sure. No doubt. But it's still at the end of the day, it's still you look at it and you go.

If I add Saquan to this team or if I add, you know, a top flight running back, I might win the league this year. So doing that juggling, look, it doesn't do you any good to have a bunch of young players and finish third. Right. So it's a balancing act for sure. All right. Thanks for listening to the show.
