FA Frenzy + Big Questions, Who Am I?

Okay, you pick a guy, he gets injured, you got to cut him, whatever. You move on. This is actually someone that's going to actively hurt your team for the majority of your season. Yeah, don't draft it. You will have to consider signing him. Oh, certainly. Yeah, like six weeks in or so. Correct. Yes. Yeah. Otherwise, because he's on the suspended list, you're not going to be able to put him in IR. You're not going to be able to tuck him away. If you could.

That would be one way to do. Here's what you do. You trade for him about week six or week seven from the team who's clearly on the way to miss the playoffs because they drafted him and held him the whole time, hurt their team, and then you get the value. So as it pertains to Tyreek Hill, we don't know a lot of information. You need to proceed basically looking for more information and being ready to make a move. If you're a Tyreek Hill owner.

Just fantasy advice. Do you advise them to go pursue somebody like Sammy Watkins? Do you think that you just are, you're kind of in the bed that you lie in right now? Yeah, you probably are because I think the most important point when it comes to fantasy football has no real life implications. But the extremes, like Andy had talked about, of the outcomes. This isn't.

Oh, maybe he'll gets removed from the team like Kareem Hunt it. Like he gets kicked off the team. You know he'll find a new home. He'll face an eight game suspension. This is Tyree Kilman may never ever play again. And so you've got to ask what kind of fantasy football risks do you want to take if he's on your roster? Do you want to just dump him right now and live with the results? Yeah, I saw people trading them for other people's entire.

2020 draft, you know, the first, second, third round. Interesting. And getting rid of him. And, you know, it's really tough. You're going to have to make your call because if nothing did go on, he's exonerated. And, you know, then you have a top five asset in Dynasty. So it's very, very difficult. That's a you decision. What is your risk? If you want to play the risk, then I think the risk is keeping him more than trading him.

Yeah, and this is, by the way, our least favorite type of strategy advice to give during the off season. It's not very fun. The Dolphins traded quarterback. This part is fun. Ryan Tannehill. Well, I'm sorry for Ryan Tannehill getting traded, but who is now a backup quarterback. But the fun part? But the fun part is Ryan Fitzmagic is back. He's back.

If you're going to, if you're going to go hard after the future, first round pick.

You might as well have some fun along the way. Here's something interesting. And Kyle, our editor-in-chief, looked this up. When Ryan Fitzpatrick was a starter, this is how his team's finished in terms of percentage of team targets to the wide receiver position. Okay? I'm going to go back in time starting with last year. 69% with Tampa. Nice. That's first in the league.

He started in New York, 71% to the wide receiver. That's first. That was the Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker. Well, how about the year before? That was the second year with him. The first year with him was 74%. Which is insane. 74%. In Houston, 69.4%. That was second in the league. fans it's going to be rough for a couple years but if you end up with the number one pick next year you get to a to come and beat your franchise quarterback and then they can load up it's this is what you have to do with the beard and sunglasses leading the way and you're going to have fun on the way it's fun to have fitzpatrick because he knows they did not bring him in to win

We hit the pause button on the last episode right around the wide receiver position. Am I right? Sure. Time to dance. Time to dance with Golden Tate. Golden Tate signs a four-year, $37.5 million deal with the New York football giants. We know Golden Tate's story, right? Led the league in broken tackles. Like every year? Every year. What's the ceiling here in New York, Mike? And how do you feel? You've been kind of like riding this Evan Ingram wave ever since O'Dell Beckham Jr. has been traded.

And now you do, when you look at all the possible options that were out there for New York, like drafting a top flight wide receiver out of the draft or signing Randall Cobb, but like Golden Tate is a target hog. He is an absorption machine when it comes to the football. Absolutely. And Golden Tate has been, he's had success on the outside as well in his career, although I think at this point he is better served as being a slot wide receiver.

which makes the signing strange because that's essentially what Sterling Shepard is. But if you're talking about just real quick, how do I feel about Evan Engram? I'm very happy with this signing of Golden Tate because Evan Ingram is a field stretching tied in. Let him take over that role and use Golden Tate for what he does that catches, passes, short, right-to-line scrimmage, and then makes things happen. See, I think it would have been better for Evan, when the news first came out that Golden Tate was.

signed and you were excited about Evan Ingram. Yeah, it's not, you know, it's not the, he's no Odo Beckham, right, obviously. Nobody is. I don't think that there was, if they had gone out and gotten a rookie, Evan Ingram is more established. They went out and got a guy who's going to command 100 plus targets. I mean, he has every year for the last six years or so. And I think that that does take away from.

If you look at the splits, right, we were talking about the splits. Evan Ingram, when O'Dell was on the field, when he wasn't, this is going to be more akin to O'Dell on the field than when O'Dell wasn't on the field. Because there will be another number one wide receiver target. You talk about Evan Ingram being the field stretching guy at Golden Tate being closer to the line of scrimmage. Again, that's kind of. Dave Gettleman told me that Eli Manning played outrageous football the second half of last year. He's just getting started.

The career begins for Eli. And wine. Better with AIDS. Here's an interesting question. Let's say you had to fill a flex spot for the season. And you had to choose Golden Tate Sterling Shepard and Evan Ingram. What order would you put them in in a half point Tate Engram Shepard? Okay. So you still like the overall fantasy production of Tate higher than Ingram? Yes. Okay.

It's a fair question. I mean, there are teams. Travis Kelsey, right? If Tyree kills not in the field, Kelsey's the number one target in Kansas City, right? Right. Zach Ertz is going to be the number one overall point score in Philadelphia, almost guaranteed. So that's why I asked the question. I don't know if you saw Ingram that high up the mountain. No, not that high. I would actually still see Ingram third. If we're just talking flex, I mean, Ingram is more valuable than Sterling Shepard in general because he plays a tight-in.

in a landscape where there are so few. But if we're just talking to a flex, I think Sterling Shepard outscores Evan Ingram as well. Send in the car. Send in the car. Oh, are you ready? Are you ready for the Oakland Raider offense? Tyro Williams has been signed by the Raiders. Four-year, $44 million deal. We talked about the Antonio Brown trade on the last podcast. Derek Carr, of all the things that he is and isn't, he hasn't generally thrown the ball down the field. He's not going to be, that being Tyrell Williams, a number one target on this offense. And look, he will have opportunity in much the same way he had in Los Angeles with the Chargers.
