Fantasy Football Podcast 2016 - Week 8 Waivers, Streams of the Week, Goodbye Arian

He has looked so bad. He may be the worst quarterback in the league right now. I mean, statistically, he may be. Yeah, Ryan Weiss writes a really good defensive pickup article for us. That posted today. So if you go to the fantasy footballers.com, you can read some of those. Look at how he nailed last week's defense. And he likes the Titans this week. And as he says, Blake Bortles has never seen an interception he doesn't like to throw. It's gross. I mean, that's a good line. He has got to get it figured out.

Somebody told me they thought ever since I defaced Gus Bradley's picture here in the office that I messed up their offense. You're the Cubs goat? I don't know. I guess I'm the Cubs goat. All right. Let's move on to quarterbacks, which means we are talking streamers. Full stream ahead. All right. Mike, are you ready? Oh, you know I'm ready. He was my streamer last week. What's his ownership percentage?

His ownership percentage is 53. Well, is it 55 or 53? I don't care. Science needs to know. Mid-50s, mid-to-low 50s. Famous James Winston, he's taking on Oakland, who by all accounts, if it's not a Blake Bortle's offense, looks like they can beat them and put up some spectacular fantasy points. Look, I talked about it last week. I hope you picked up James because...

This is the stretch where he is that was built for the Buccaneers. It's built for James. Built for fantasy production. Like I said, owned in, are available in almost half of leagues. And for the next couple of weeks, to me, James Winston will be a quarterback one. On top of that, you have the chocolate syrup. You have the cherry on the top of there that if you want to hold on to James and you're looking good for the playoffs. He's got the Saints twice.

So he is my pickup. Not only is my streamer pickup, but I think this is a rest of season pickup for James Winston. Yeah, he's good. But Mike. Yes, voice of public opinion. But Mike, James's own in most of the leagues I play in. And do you have anybody deeper? I do. I got a guy who's available in your league. I guarantee it. Did you just talk to yourself? No, I was talking to the voice public opinion.

My guy is available, and the reason he's available is because he wasn't even a starter until this. Because look, you know the scene in Star Wars where they fall into the trash compactor. And they are just in sewer goop. There's a monster in there. The walls start closing in. That describes my quarterback. That is the pick that you're going with.

But I don't hate it. No, I love it. This should be everybody. Pick is the right word. Yes, pick is the right word. He was so good at throwing picks. He threw 10 picks in the first four weeks. But he is a brand new starter as of this week. It was not the starter last week. And I am talking about picks, Patrick, Ryan Fitzpatrick. Look, he is actually a decent quarterback from time to time. Streaming candidate, he has always been one of those guys that ends up having a couple top five weeks.

Now I could talk about, you know, his wide receiver court. He's got Brandon Marshall. He's got this and that. He's back. He's got the trust. He has to have the trust because there's nobody behind him. But I'm going to say he plays Cleveland this week. I rest my case. Cleveland has been so bad against quarterback. I mean, look. What is the least they've given up points? So 22? The least in our league is just under 23 fantasy points. You are talking. It's been a month since they haven't given up in the 30s.

Yeah. I mean, you're talking 38, 38, 30 points in a row. And the 30 points last week was to my man, Andy Dalton, who did it all in the first half. I don't see how Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn't throw a couple touchdowns here. I don't worry about him throwing many interceptions against the Browns. I mean, really, he's only thrown one interception in the last three weeks. So Ryan Fitzpatrick, he's available. I would play him. And I expect, honestly, I really expect a top 12 week. I'm.

Fully confident starting right Fitzpatrick this week. I'm going with the, you know, my streamer, guys. He's my streamer. Oh. He's just my guy. Wow. Do it again. I just stream him every week. Marcus Mariotta.

Look, last week he put together a decent week, even though he did not run a ton. This week he's got Jacksonville on Thursday night football. It's only 32% owned. And right now he's the number nine quarterback on the season. So I think being able to pick up the number nine quarterback on the season, you've got a baseline with some of those rushing yards and the opportunity to, you know, kind of, you know, with Kendall Wrightback.

that adds something else to the offense. Delaney Walker was very good last week. You had Jacksonville, 21st against opposing quarterbacks. I think Marioita's a guy. It was hard for me to decide between him and Alex Smith. I think Alex Smith is an honorable mention this week that you can pay attention to, mostly because I think Alex Smith is just safe. He is pretty much an honorable mention.

Almost every single week. I mean, he's just kind of safe. He had 25 fantasy points last week. If he would run the ball. He has Indianapolis this week, which makes him a decent pickup. He's at home. It's the second highest over under for Vegas. I'm sorry. He's on the road. Which is great that he's on the road because Indianapolis is going to be able to score. And that's just going to make, you know, Alex Smith have to continue to throw the ball and try to take a lead or keep a lead.

For Carlos Hyde. You know, we say this all the time. When it's a running back for a wide receiver, it is team dependent. You know, if you've got wide receiver depth, you don't have running back depth, do it. If you're going to end up trading one problem for a different problem, I wouldn't. But in a vacuum, which guy would you rather have? I guess I would. In a vacuum, I'll take Carlos High. I think I will. Assuming Hyde is back this week.

That's the thing. If it's extended absence, I don't do that. But in a vacuum, I take high. Yeah, I'll just throw out there just to piggyback on Jason's point. We hear a lot of people, oh, I'm stacked at running back because I have three startable options. That's not stacked. Like, look at your buy weeks. Look at next week. You might think, oh, yeah, I got three options. You look next week. I have one option next week. So don't think that because you have three.

Strong starting running backs that you can just throw away all your depth at this point. I completely agree. David writes in from Hollywood. He says Eddie Lacey is available in my keeper league. Is he worth spending fab money on? Does Eddie Lacey have a future and will he be fantasy relevant next season? That is a great question. Look, Eddie Lacey is in a contract year. We don't know if he's going to be a packer, if he's going to be somewhere else. He's coming off of an injury. Eddie money? Eddie Tummy. Eddie Tommy. Eddie Tommy. I like it.

Look, I'm going to go ahead and say that probably not. Now, you probably are in a keeper league where you keep, what, three guys? Just depends. I mean, it depends. But, I mean, most of the time, you're at two or three guys in most keeper leagues. If it's four, maybe I lean a little bit stronger there, but I have to believe you will have three better keeper options by the end of the year than a guy coming off of an injury, not knowing what team he's going to be on.

You know, I don't know. Do you guys disagree? I think he's worth the pickup. But like you said, it depends on the amount of keepers. And it depends. Are you in a five bench league and you're just going to burn a bench spot for the rest of the year hoping for Eddie Lacey for 2017? I would not do that. But if there's a situation where he's not hurting your bench at all, then I would definitely pick him up. All right. Dustin in Kansas City says, should I consider trading Jamal Charles at this point in the season? If so,

What kind of players should I consider getting for Jamal Charles? I mean, what is the situation here with Jamal? Do you think that there are people that are going to still buy into the name value and then you go cash in? Would you do that? Or would you just hold them because shrug? If they are the people that you're packaging, J. Jhajai and player X and you're stealing away like a David Johnson, which if that's possible, then somebody is still going to buy Jamal Charles.

It's going to be a tough, tough sell. You're going to have to go owner by owner. You know who I would trade Jamal Charles for? Anybody? Spencer Ware. If I don't have. I would. I would just go and say, hey, I'll give you Jamal Charles for Spencer Ware. But that would be a crazy, crazy act to do. Yeah. It's kind of unfortunate to see.
