Having said that, some of, like a lot of throws when I was watching Tua last year, it was underthrowing Tyree Kill and then him being hero ball figuring it out. Tua, some of these throws were unbelievable. Just pinpoint dropping the ball.
So if Tua has leveled up with this offense, it's going to be amazing. Mack Jones was 35 for 54 against the Philadelphia Eagles. 316 and 3 just wasn't clutch enough. He had two drives at the end of the game to win it and couldn't get it done. There was a defensive score for the Eagles. If you didn't watch that game, the Eagles got an interception, which wasn't Mac Jones's fault, hit the receiver in the hands, popped up, and Darius Slay housed it. But if you watch the rest of the game, it really felt like the Patriots beat the Eagles from an expectation standpoint. If that kind of fluky pick six play didn't happen, I think we might be thinking a little differently about the Patriots and the quality of their team. I agree. Jordan Love.
Jordan Love was great. Didn't even have Christian Watson, 15 for 27, 245 and 3. He's got Dobbs. We should have known. All they do is they start Hall of Fame first ballot quarterbacks. He looked very good against the Bears. In rhythm. He looked very in rhythm. Anthony Richardson, great debut. He did. 24 for 37, 223 and 1. Which he did leave the game at the end. Believe it was a knee injury. The report I'm seeing, though, is they say he will be fine. Yeah, he looked. He looked like he was going to be all right. I had thought it was a concussion at first. Yeah, I mean, I don't even understand on that play how it was a knee problem. You got smashed in the helmet. But, yeah, 40 rushing yards, another rushing touchdown. Great for fantasy. I mean, if he's getting off to this quickest start, it's unbelievable. Yeah. Deshaun Watson ended up in the 5 for 455 on the ground. Another touchdown through the air on 154 yards. This game was pretty rainy. It was gross. Joe Burroughs tiny hands.
These hands, small I know. Oh, yeah, let's get some jewel in there. Not yours. Deshaun Watson looked okay. It was a dominating performance by the defense, but he did get enough done on offense to make it a route. I'm optimistic. Yeah, what you really want to see from Deshawn Watson is I saw some bad throws in this game where I was like, oh, man. And I saw enough of them where I was worried, but he ran the ball. If you run the ball, you can be an average, you can be a below average. Passer. Yeah, yeah. And for fantasy football, you're still going to come through. And this was in the rain, so maybe, you know, some of those passes weren't his fault. Yeah. All right. Let's get into the stud running backs. I threw a few Aaron Jones DFS lineups in about 15 minutes before game time. And I didn't win the million, though. But he had a heck of a day. Two touchdowns was explosive.
The contrast between him and AJ Dillon on the ground was, it was definitely starter versus backup. Let's put it that way. But he did hurt his hamstring. They get Atlanta next week, then New Orleans. But Aaron Jones, great debut. Two for 86 through the air, nine from 41 on the ground. Can't really do more with 11 opportunities. Don't love the volume. Don't love that he already's a hamstring injury. Austin Echler, Joshua Kelly. They massacred the Miami defensive line. Josh Kelly is an interesting name because he had the same amount of carries as Echler, which I would have found ridiculous, except every time they handed him the football, he was carving up the defense the same way Echler was. He looked very good. So it was a true 50-50 in terms of carries. And this is, I'll just mention this in passing because there's no reports on it.
When Jason and I were watching, there was a sequence of plays where Austin Echler, after a carry, looked, he gave the body language of the stand-up, like something is not great. He was in the very next play. But as he was lining up, something weird was going on. And then he left the field for. He limped off the field. Yeah, he limped off the field. And there was a whole bunch of Joshua Kelly attempts after that. So again, I've not seen any reports about it. It was just watching the game and noticed this. Just keep an ear out. Oh, I noticed. I've got two running backs on my roster. Yeah. It was J.K. Dobbins and Austin Eckler, so I was terrified for about 10 minutes. Eckler, 16 for 117 and 1 in 5 targets for 447 through the air. Does this mean that the new Kellynne Moore system is just great for running backs, or does this mean target Miami Dolphins rush defense as they got gashed by whoever had the ball? Perhaps both. Maybe. Christian McCaffrey? Oh, he's still good.
Great game. 22 for 152 and 1 on the road. Five targets. Played all but 10 49ers offensive snaps. Which is surprising. We're going to leave with these snaps. Get out of here. Unleased the beast. They were dominating the Steelers. And I assume the second half would be all Elijah Moore. I think Elijah Moore or Elijah Mitchell. I thought that the missile might have a lot of work. I think he had like two carries. This was all Christian McCaffrey. And the coolest thing is when I was watching the game and you'd watch Christian McCaffer just do a run, you can go, he's really good. I don't know if you guys have seen this. If you've never watched Christian McCaffrey, dude's pretty good. He's very good. And the team, the scheme for the runs was incredible. And the team was all in on blocking. So the McCaffrey, huge touchdown run. If you missed the highlight.
The actual highlight is Brandon I, you getting a block, then getting out in front of Christian McCaffrey and truck sticking. He sent somebody into another universe. Yes, and that's what opened it up for McCaffrey to score. You got to remember McCaffrey, this is first full offseason and opportunity to get integrated into the system. And that is the most impressive thing. They were blowing them out and he was getting all the reps. So you got to remember if you play Elijah Mitchell, this is one of the things, the 49ers. If you play him, he's going to get hurt. Yeah, you've got to leave him off the field. Yeah. Tyler Algier, two touchdowns. Yeah, baby. People want to hear about the Tyler Algeria Bijon Robinson situation. Bejon had 10 carries. Algier had 15. Bejohn was 10 for 56. He had six targets, six for 27 and a touchdown. That would be five more targets than Drake London had. That would be 35% of the total targets.
Yeah, I mean, the number, the total number is good. Six targets is great. And Robinson was the snap leader for the first three quarters. So that also factors in. So, yeah, both guys are going to be involved, though. People want to know, can I play Tyler Algeria. Yes. Yeah. You can flex him because there's a decent chance he's going to score some touchdowns this year and have opportunities. And Bijan, you know, much like Jemir Gibbs, there's going to be an element of easing them into the NFL game, not putting too much on them at first. and you're going to have some monstrous, monstrous Bijon games. Al Jir's ceiling isn't as high as Bijan. No, no, it's not. But, I mean, there were multiple times, both of the rushing touchdowns that Tyler Al Jir got. They got down near the goal line and they're like, let's use Alger. And that's fine. I'm Mr. Bejohn. Bejohn had a great game. He's going to continue to. And both of these players will be absolutely fine to start on a weekly basis. Obviously, Bejon will have the better season-long performance. But I think Al Jir,
might be the better value for where you ended up drafting these. And, you know, if I had to make one, you know, overreaction that you're going to stick with, I think Atlanta wins this division. I think they're going to be a really good team. And they're going to just run the ball all day. Ask me how much Kyle Pitts I have. How much Kyle Pitts? None. Ask me about Drake London. Go. Do it. You got any Drake London over there? None. Okay. Yeah. They threw it 18 times. They won by two touchdowns. If Mr. Mustache, Arthur Smith, could do this every week. I've got to play it. I mean, his comments tell you everything you need to know. This is how you want to win the game, Atlanta. Have you watched Desmond Ritter? I would want to throw it less than 18 times. Now, the next couple weeks, though, they play Green Bay. Green Bay looked good, so that might not be as easy a matchup where you can be up to scores and not throw the ball. Then they play against Detroit.

Then they play against Jacksonville and the Jaguars who, you know, if you're not up 14 points, you would think maybe you have to throw the ball more. Yeah, his quote exactly was, let the fantasy guys worry about that. Speaking of Drake London's production, we've got things to clean up. We don't care. Drake London doesn't care. All we care about is want to know.
And the truth is that's true. Yeah, that's true. I think the Drake London doesn't care part is untrue. No, I mean, I'm going to give him the credit. I think he's given Drake London credit to say he doesn't care. 100%. They want the W. Mike cares. No, I definitely, I'm saying when Drake London is eventually going for a contract extension, he's going to care what his production looks like. Yeah, maybe in some minor way thinking long ahead to that day. But I think he's pretty happy about yesterday. Tony Pollard, 14 for 70 and two touchdowns. He is going to be so good. Travis ETN, 18 for 77 in a touchdown. Five targets, five catches, 27 yards through the air, 80% of snaps, 15.6% target share. That is a career high for Travis ETN. Kansas City next week, fire him up. Travis ETN looked great. You did have the situation where.
You had the tank in for some goal line action. He got a touchdown himself. But this is Travis Etienne's backfield for a while where he's going to dominate in the running and passing game. Kyron Williams, 15 for 52, two touchdowns looked way better than Cam Acres. Yeah. Just between the tackles, he was getting extra yards. Cam Makers, I don't know how we can get all the way back to where we were in the middle of last year with the comments that McVe. has made, but he's a liar. We know that. Yeah. This is a good friend of the show. John Daigle had a tweet that really points out when I said, I was worried about Cameron. And you say, well, you know, Cameron, by the end of the game, looks like he was even. And this is why you can capitalize and sell Ron. But Kyron Williams outtouched Camakers 14 to 11 until the Rams took a 24 to 13 lead.
And then Acres recorded 11 touches to Kyron's one over the last nine minutes of the fourth quarter. But Williams ran 30% of routes, or 30 routes, 73% to Acres 4. So the valuable, you know, guy that was getting important touches when the game mattered was Kyron Williams. The guy that was running routes was Kyron Williams. But next week, San Francisco. Yeah. Good luck. Yeah. Sell Ron now. Brian Robinson and Roshan Johnson. Brian Robinson, I want to mention this. If you looked at Antonio Gibson, who we'll talk about later, Brian Robinson more than doubled his routes run record as an NFL player. And we should remember the fact that you have a brand new offensive coordinator and Eric B. Enemy there. So you want to start to pick up trends of new coordinators. He's 19 for 59 on the ground.
He only caught one pass, but it was a touchdown. And then, like I said, Gibson was mostly a ghost. Gibson did what Gibson can not do. Gibson has a fumbling issue over the last several years. He's been benched for it. And he fumbled in that game. He still played after the fumble, but that is sparsely. Yeah. It's not great. And then Roshan Johnson ended up with the goal line touchdown. He also had seven targets. You need to pay attention to Roshan Johnson. Absolutely pay attention. I'm still on Team Khalil Herbert. The Roshan Johnson production was garbage time. This was when the game was out of hand. It was the fourth quarter. Khalil and Foreman played in front of Roshan Johnson, but he looked good on his opportunity. So this is what you want is can he show that tape to the coach and say, no, I need to play earlier.
Yeah, you did see some Deonti Foreman on the field earlier as well. And that situation, if that offense is not good, there's going to be some disappointment. DJ Moore, Justin Fields, all those guys. Wide receivers, Tyree Kill, had the highest week one fantasy points since 2009. Or sorry, 2019 Sammy Watkins. Oh, yeah. We still got the drop someplace hidden away. With the lizard king? Yeah, we've got. Oh, we do. Tyreek was cold-blooded, man. He is unstoppable. 15 targets, 11 for 2.15. Five, too few. Over, yeah, over 30% of the targets, which is what we've seen him do. I mean, Tyree Kill will be dominant. Week in and week out. 3,655 receiving yards. That's the pace. Hey, Brandon Ayyuk. 8 for 8 for 129 and 2.
I don't know. Is that a perfect game? I mean, that's a perfect game. He had a perfect game. He had some catches. His second touchdown was really a great throw, but also just great body positioning to be able to catch the ball. He laid down the law on a block that was Christian McCaffrey's huge run. You watch that run again. Just watch number 11 out there laying someone out. He had a great game. Looks awesome. He's obviously going to succeed in this offense. Man, I mean, maybe is there enough to go around for the San Francisco 49ers? My worry has been like with Christian McCaffrey and Debo and Iuke and Kittle. It's like there's not enough volume to go around, but they sure seem to make it work against a good defense. You had big weeks from Calvin Ridley. Yeah. 11 targets, 8 for 101. Christian Kirk was poof, not a part of the offense. The most routes run by this offense was actually Zay Jones. Yeah. Christian Kirk, the preseason.
told the truth, at least through week one, that despite the bag of money that he's getting, he's the slot wide receiver and will not be on the field for two wide outsets. 69% of dropbacks, Christian Kirk ran a route. That's not nice. No. Michael Pittman. Pity City. Oh, baby. Where's that drop? Build this city. And I need back on. No, no, no, no, no. Yeah, let's fix that. Let's fix that. Yeah. It's just me. You had what I would guess is an outlier week from Kendrick Bourne, six for 64 and two touchdowns. Jacoby Myers, nine for 81 and two touchdowns. Romeo Dobbs, just four for 26, but scored two touchdowns. He was in. Are you trading him? Are you trading him with Christian Watson eventually coming back? Are you going to see if? I'm open to trading him, but I'm also very open to let's find out because it was only five targets. I mean, four for 26 isn't great, but what if he?
is in the reports of the off season where Jordan Love likes to throw the ball to Romeo Dobbs. And Dobbs was still limited on snaps because of the hamstring injury. I'm open to trading him, but I think with Romeo, I'd rather just, I'd rather hold on and see what happens next week against Atlanta. Are you moving to Kobe Myers? Are you seeing one to be a recommended waiver pickup? Oh, really? I would be targeting. Oh, I meant, I mean, I interpreted that more as like moving up in your ranks. Like, I am moving my opinion on Jacoby Myers. No, if I, I would, I believe Jacobi Myers will be heavily involved. Now, if he goes in the Kakasha protocol, he might not be there this week. I'm not going to invest in him. Really? The way that the targets, I mean, he was just looked to. No, I agree. I'm not taking anything away from him as a player in performance, but Denver's defense is pretty formidable.
You know, I was, I think this was a product of really some of that pass rush, getting the ball out quickly. And I'm not, I don't think 9 for 81 is going to translate with a concussion into Buffalo. Let me ask you about an observation I made in the Philly game. and whether you believe it to be maybe just getting the jitters out of the way or what did you notice jalen hurts and the way he was going down no so jalen hurts going down early before context very very early i did know in his you did yeah very very early in the scrambles and i couldn't help but think that investment that they made on jalen hurts obviously you want to use his strengths but to me he was going down
extremely early in his scrambles, not fighting for yards, not trying to break a big play, just kind of conceding the tackle, which I'm not saying that that's dumb. But it could hurt the production in the running game. People were asking, like, where was the rushing quarterbacks this week? I mean, Jalen Hertz, Lamar Jackson was six for 38. He only had 169 yards passing again. And, uh, But, I mean, to be fair to Lamar, that's on 17 completions, where Jalen Hertz had 170 and it took 22 for him to get there. So I still think that there's better days ahead for Lamar. Well, Cincinnati on the road next week. I think Jalen Hertz has probably got a better week coming up for himself against Minnesota. Justin Fields, honestly, this was a game that made me wonder if he's going to be it. Yeah. This is his 28th start as a professional quarterback.
You traded your first pick overall. Don't forget this. I mean, like, it wasn't just for DJ Moore, but it was, DJ Moore was part of the package. And DJ Moore was irrelevant. Like I said, 37 pass attempts. Three of 37 went over 10 yards. Those aren't even pass attempts. Those should be called shuffle pass attempts. It's an embarrassment from a game plan perspective. It was very interesting. I mean, this was not good. And then they go to Tampa who won. this past week. I'm not that, is this a concern? How concerned were you with Justin Fields? So the fact that he had nine for 59 on the ground, that still gives you hope and optimism. It felt like a regression though. This was not the Justin Fields evolution that you would hope to see, hoping they look at the film and go, how are we getting DJ Moore just two targets? Like that's, that is an embarrassment.
We need to over-correct. Like, DJ Moore should see 10 targets next week. Justin Fields, if you remember the final three games of last year, 152 passing yards, 119 passing yards, 75 passing yards. Mm-hmm. You're not going to get, you can't predict a long of, you know, 60-yard touchdown run, 67-yard touchdown run, 61-yard touchdown run. You can't get that every week. No. take the mature, you know, the step forward like Jalen Hurts did, is going to be a bad pick. Yeah, he has to improve in the passing game. If that doesn't happen, then he could still be good for fantasy. We saw that last year. The one thing that gives me comfort is another thing we saw last year was the Bears and the Bears' offense and Joseph Fields were putrid to start the year. And they self-evaluated. They made.
wholesale changes to what was working and what wasn't working. And then obviously he went nuclear for the second half of last year. So I still think they're figuring out this new offense.
