Ben Rothlisberger, Drew Breeze, look how much they throw the ball to the running back. And all those stats get added to them, you know, with those little screen passes. And that's just never been a part of Matthew Stafford as well. That's not, yeah, exactly. Do they scream like, pad my stats? Right. I need a couple more. You know, Cam has the chance now to cross that 4,000 if they utilize them in that way.

135 passagesThe opportunity is there. I completely agree with you, Mike. Eileen, that he's not going to be able to succeed in it because I don't think he's a great quarterback. I think he's a freak talent and an incredible NFL asset. But as far as being an NFL quarterback passing the ball, he's below average. I'm going to throw a couple other variables into the mix that are my...
pro cam variables one is I look at that schedule this year you know he's fortunate to play in a division with middling defenses like New Orleans and I mean that's generous for New Orleans sure and then Atlanta's in the middle of the pack they got better though towards the end of the year yeah but there's still a big play in Atlanta are both middle of the pack yeah and then New Orleans is pretty bad but you know if you look at the full season Carolina has the third best schedule in terms of
easiest passing defenses, easiest the teams that give up the most points to quarterbacks in the beginning of the season, not as nice, but still in the top 10. I just don't see a lot of intimidating matches where I'd be like, oh, man, I want to sit Cam Newton. He can't, you know, blow it up this week. And you brought up, Mike, you know, is he getting close to a point? Is he getting close to a point in his ADP where you're willing to draft him? He already is there for me because.
In the ninth round. That's where he's out right now? Yeah, he's in the ninth right now. He's quarterback 11 the last time I looked. Yeah, I think on my rankings, he's eight. No, no, I'm saying he's being drafted as the 11th quarterback. I'm saying that's, I've got him ranked ahead of where he's being drafted right now. That's the best kind of Cam Newton. The kind of Cam Newton I can cut if I need to. Exactly. Last year I didn't have a Cam Newton that I could cut if I needed to. I mean, the first three weeks. I had one that buried me. The first three weeks of the season are San Francisco, Buffalo, and New Orleans.
You know, don't you wish you had a Jason you could cut if you needed to? Oh, you can cut me right now. I'm not leaving, but you're welcome to do it. There's going to be, you know, Milton with the stapler. All right. Well, I'm going to get your quick take. One sentence take. I'm going to name a player. You're not getting one sentence about a particular player. I want to see if you can do it. Nope. Calvin Benjamin. You're not getting one sentence because I have an analogy that I have to talk about for Kelvin Benjamin. Go. Go. In the office.
My one word would be chubby. Calvin Benjamin is following. He made weight. You take that back. He made weight? Yeah. He made a lot. Kelvin Benjamin. He made a lot of weight. It has been plummeting in drafts. He's never been a wide receiver who I've targeted. But we were in our Scotty Fishball draft, and we were very late in the draft. And I referred to Kelvin Benjamin as a college campus parking ticket. Okay. Oh, yeah, I hated this analogy. Go on. No, and then it came to fruition that it was very, very good.
You know that you should pay the parking ticket. You know that you should draft Kelvin Benjamin because if you don't, sneaky bad things happen to you. Andy had the situation where he didn't pay his. And nothing happened. No, I was fine. Meanwhile, Jason Moore, he ignored his college campus parking ticket because it's just whatever. Yeah, stupid you of A. Whatever. I mean, it's just the parking ticket. Stupid Tucson.
They came to collect. They were on my credit. They came to collect. $20 parking tickets were on my credit for years. So it's, if you're like, I shouldn't have to do this. But Kelvin Benjamin is a thousand yard receiver. He has double digit touchdown potential. You don't feel good about paying it. You think you can get away with not doing it.
But it's better for your team when the value comes. His ADP is so low now that he is worth taking. He's the 30 second wide receiver off the board. Maybe he needs a little rebranding the way that we did for Paul Perkins. Ooh. Because Calvin Benjamin, I don't like seeing that name on my bench, but if you could rebrand him. Which is too bad because that's a strong name. Yeah. That's a, that's a, that's a wild thing. If he was too tall Jones, I'd put him on a bench. But I'm not putting Calvin Benjamin on my bench. I have a hard time rebranding him while he's still.
so chubby. I'm hoping he loses weight. And so then it's like, okay, I'm not going to rebrand him, Oprah. Oh, because I don't want to draft that, you know? So he's a tough, he's a tough cookie to crack. What do we? Oh, he's closing the showdown with that. That'll do it. On behalf of Oprah, on behalf of Kevin Benjamin. Thanks for listening.
