Thursday night breakdown. Buccaneers, the 4-1 take on the Philadelphia Eagles sitting at 2 and 3 after the comeback win over the Panthers. Draf King Sportsbook line, Buccaneers minus 6.5 on the road. The over-under is a nice 52.5 points in this one. Tom Brady gets to prime time it once again, and I think he's going to be just fine, primetime. I mean, Tom about his thumb. He's the quarterback, too, on the year.

141 passagesTom Thumb, not worried about it. And there's too many weapons and it's too efficient right now. You're seeing all of the things that we liked about Tom Brady coming into the year. This has been a continuation of the second half of the season that led into a Super Bowl. Tom Brady downloaded the software in half a year, the Bruce Aryan software that normally takes a quarterback a year to install because he's Tom Brady.
Antonio Brown, you know, Mike, you were at the leader of the parade, but we, you know, he was in our UDK for a reason. He's been explosive. He's been another weapon on top of like each guy brings something completely different to this team. Sure. It's been fun to watch. Like Evans is really a go-to receiver. Third downs, goal line, big plays. Brown is this, you know, deep threat. And, you know, he's been so valuable when, when Brady needs.
needs a pass. And then Godwin is just reliable on any given play. So you mix that up with Bruce Ariens and you have the quarterback two on the season on 51 touchdown pace. I don't think it changes here in week five. I don't disagree. I really wish that Gronk was playing. Oh, this would be a great matchup for Grunk, but he's not. Yeah. So on the other side of the ball, Jalen Hertz has been an absolute fantasy stud.
uh, despite, you know, playing poorly, despite like, you know, a quarter here, three quarters there of bad NFL football. It doesn't, it doesn't seem to matter for Jalen Hertz. The, the rushing baseline saves him. And the connection between him and Devante Smith, it's, it's growing. It's getting stronger. Smith is, is 23% of the targets.
The fourth most routes run at the wide receiver position. Smith, Smith is really breaking out. He's, as far as rookies, he's overshadowed justifiably by what Jamar Chase is doing. But if Chase, you know, if you compare what Devante Smith is doing to all rookie wide receivers over the last decade, Devante Smith is absolutely phenomenal. Yes. He answered the question, all the questions in the draft season were.
Well, the BMI. Yeah. Well, he's too skinny. He can't work in the NFL because no one has ever worked. He took a B.M on that argument. Oh, I like it. You know, no one has ever worked with his body size or very, very, very few have ever worked with his body size. Doing the NFL. Did you call him Paper Mario at one point? Yes, Paper Mario. But the reality is he has already proven. Like, it's a done deal, signed, sealed, delivered that he can.
be great on the NFL field. He's still a rookie. He doesn't have the best quarterback. But yeah, I'm in on Devante Smith. Rest of season. I'm in on Devante Smith in this matchup as well. Well, I actually, we had waivers go through today and I invested one fab dollar on a player that most people don't want to admit they invested any fab dollars on. I'm going to guess. I have not seen. I tried to claim him. I'm going to, well, no.
No, because I put $2. I was going to guess Geo Bernard. Zachary Ertz. Yeah. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah, I've got Kyle Pitts, who's on the buy week, and Zach Ertz is in a, look, we joke about Goddertz, right? Like the two tied-in positions. Do you think Tampa's going to score on Philly today? Oh, yeah. Or tomorrow? Yeah, I do. So who's he throwing the ball to? I mean, it's Devante Smith, and it's Zach Ertz. Like, Ertz is going to be heavily involved.
Yeah, Dallas Goddard is on the COVID reserve list. I don't think he's officially ruled as out, but he's going to be out. So Zach Gertz is a...
He has a way of turning seven targets into no fantasy production, but he's going to get seven plus targets. I hate to say it. He's not just like a good stream. I think he's an excellent stream this week. So the other decisions to be made is what do you do with the backfield in Philadelphia? And what do you do with the backfield in Tampa in terms of confidence levels? Fournette looked like he was on the way to a high expectation and then a dud last week. And then he kind of just surfaced at the end of that game, got into the end zone.
ended up having a nice game and still gets targeted out of the backfield. He had, yeah, it was a solid game for Fournett, and it was one, like, Geo Bernard had the receiving touchdown in the first half, and if I'm not mistaken, I think that was like his first touch of the game. So it was just kind of a, well, that sucks, that Bernard is the one who came in, because Fournet was on his way to a monster game. Yeah, I think Fournet is a great play this week, be happy to play him.
Geo and a PPR you can maybe pinch him in, but yeah, I would prefer to avoid it. I would rather play probably geo over either of the of the really backs. I mean, Miles Sanders has not been getting the targets that he is capable of. He jumped up to 75% of the snaps last week. Right, but 16 opportunities. On the ground is where you're not beating Tampa Bay. You could like Miles Gaskin actually had a decent game against Tampa Bay last week.
But that was all through the air. 10 for 74 and two touchdowns through the air. That's more Kenneth Gainwell than Miles Sanders as far as how they've been utilizing these backs. I want to avoid both of them. I feel like if I, I feel like there's a 51% chance that Gainwell has the better game than Sanders. Yeah, I don't disagree. Other decisions to be made here? Anybody else you're looking at? I mean, you're starting all three wide receivers for Tampa. How do you view them rest of season?
Not that it matters that much, but are they just all the same? They are pretty much all the same. I would take Mike Evans as the one because I expect at the end of the year he's going to have the most touchdowns of the three. That's it. When I look at Godwin and Antonio Brown, very, very, very similar. Antonio Brown's probably a little bit more boom and bust because he's being utilized down the field. Chris Godwin.
is actually my third and probably the safest of all threes on pace for, I think, 140 plus targets, 100 receptions. So, yeah, you're just happy. I like the running back situation in Tampa where it's fine. Right. You know, he's like for the sake of my guy, Tom Brady and the wide receivers, like, they can do enough, but like, you know Leonard Fournett's going to do something head scratching that makes Bruce Ariens go. These next two drives, I'm throwing the ball each straight times. The last...
player to bring up Jalen Rager, I just want to ask if you had a Jalen Rager, Jalen Hertz stack that you had to play, how would you feel emotionally going into this game? Terrible. What's worse than terrible? Jalen Rager starting in your lineup. Four straight weeks outside the top 45. And in terms of snaps, at least for a week. But in terms of snap, Kwez Watkins has passed him. Yeah, so maybe sign Kwez, Jason, and stack him.
Okay. I'll look and do it. Take your Thursday night players out of your flex. That goes, that's very important advice for this week, especially with so many fantasy relevant players in the mix. Matchups on tomorrow's show. Starts of the week? Yep. As well as a very important never not working considering the week seven bypocalypse coming. Oh, my gosh. I don't have enough binge spots to prepare for that. Nobody does.
